Independence Day? 79% Of Americans Are Fine With The Current Level Of Tyranny

On July 4th, the United States will celebrate Independence Day once again. But who in the world are we trying to kid? Our founders intended to create a society where freedom and liberty would be maximized, but that is not what America looks like today. Instead, we live in a country that literally has millions of laws, rules and regulations. We have a government that is obsessed with spying on the entire planet and that tries to watch, monitor, track and record as much information about all of us as it possibly can. A “Big Brother” surveillance grid is being constructed all around us, and our militarized police are becoming more brutal with each passing day. Sadly, most Americans don’t seem too alarmed by any of this. In fact, a new Gallup survey has found that 79 percent of Americans are “satisfied” with the level of freedom in this nation. That is a very alarming statistic.
If most people believe that everything is “just fine”, then our leaders are going to feel free to keep doing the same things that they have been doing.
That is why it is so frustrating that so many American “sheeple” appear to be so apathetic about the loss of our freedoms and our liberties.
But it was not all bad news in the Gallup survey. Let’s take a look at the good news first…
The Good News
The good news is that Gallup has asked this question many times before, and over the years the percentage of Americans that are satisfied with the level of freedom in this country has been going down. In fact, the latest figure of 79 percent is the lowest number that Gallup has ever recorded, and it puts us below 35 other countries…
Seventy-nine percent of US residents are satisfied with their level of freedom, down from 91 percent in 2006, according to the Gallup survey, released Tuesday.
That 12-point drop pushes the United States from among the highest in the world in terms of perceived freedom to 36th place, outside the top quartile of the 120 countries sampled, trailing Paraguay, Rwanda, and the autonomous region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
So yes, Americans are way too apathetic about the loss of our freedoms and liberties, but at least the numbers are going in the right direction.
That shows that we are making progress.
And other recent surveys show this progress as well.
For example, according to a new report from the Pew Research Center, 74 percent of Americans do not believe that they have “to give up privacy in order to be safe from terrorism”.
That is a good sign.
And Americans are more dissatisfied with the federal government than ever before as well.
Gallup has found that a whopping 79 percent of Americans believe that there is widespread corruption throughout the government.
That is a new all-time high.
And Gallup has also discovered that confidence in Congress has fallen to a brand new all-time record low…
Americans’ confidence in Congress has sunk to a new low. Seven percent of Americans say they have “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in Congress as an American institution, down from the previous low of 10% in 2013. This confidence is starkly different from the 42% in 1973, the first year Gallup began asking the question.
In fact, Gallup found that confidence in all three branches of the federal government is declining.
So there are definitely signs that the American people are waking up.
But the numbers also show that there is still so much work to do.
The Bad News
The bad news is that most of the country still appears to be deeply asleep. Our liberties and freedoms are eroding with each passing day, and most Americans simply do not care.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that the TSA is fondling thousands of women and children in airports all over the nation every single day.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that the NSA is recording billions of our phone calls and emails.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that our police are becoming increasingly militarized. As I wrote about the other day, there were only about 3,000 SWAT raids in the United States back in 1980. But today, there are more than 80,000 SWAT raids per year in this country.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that a baby was recently maimed for life when a police officer threw a grenade into his crib during a SWAT team raid.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that police recently tasered a man 18 times. In fact, it barely made a blip on the national news.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that the Obama administration has discussed making gun owners wear RFID tracking bracelets.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that a new California law would allow police to confiscate guns based on accusation alone.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that our public schools have been transformed into “Big Brother” indoctrination centers.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that the U.S. border is considered to be a “Constitution-free zone” where officials can freely grab your computer and copy your hard drive.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that people are being sent to prison for collecting rain water on their own property.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that facial recognition technology is being installed all over the nation.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that the Obama administration has expressed a desire to establish a national DNA database.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that our cell phones are essentially high tech surveillance devices.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that if you type the wrong thing into a search engine that the police could come knocking on your door.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that local governments all over the country are now using automated license plate readers to scan our license plates.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that the federal government is grabbing hundreds of thousands of acres of private land all over the country.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that Bible-believing Christians are regularly identified as “religious extremists” in official government training materials.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that the federal government has identified dozens of different categories of Americans as “potential terrorists“.
Most Americans don’t seem to care that we have a president that is treating the Constitution like a piece of toilet paper.
I could go on for hours, but I think that you get the point.
We are becoming a little bit more like tyrannical regimes such as Nazi Germany and North Korea with each passing day.
We aren’t there yet, but that is the path that we are on.
And once our liberties and freedoms are gone, they will be exceedingly difficult to ever get back.
So please help us wake up more Americans while we still can.

Gallup is a joke. Surveys can be manipulated to say anything. Besides which, it only takes a hard core 10% to start a revolt.
Can't even blame Gallup for this monstrosity of a story. If you read carefully, his entire list of things Americans are supposedly okay with, is not based on any survey at all. He cites a couple of surveys that asked general questions. Okay, most people think everything is fine because they are in the matrix. But then he prefaces his entire specific list with "apparently, most Americans don't seem to care about...."
The real problem is that most Americans don't even know about his list. They watch TV and are blissfully ignorant of the items on the list.
Interestingly, we'll all be celebrating the 4th.
The Government and Media will express such via idolatry and "remembrances" of fallen soldiers.
When in fact, July 4th is not a date that had any conflict.
It was the date upon which the Declaration of Independence was signed.
Nobody was hurt at the signing.
It is supposedly the day upon which we celebrate social values of personal freedoms, of self expression and economic independence from an overly intrusive Government.
Is that what you see being celebrated?

One of my wifes friends posted on facebook today "THIS IS WHAT PROGRESS LOOKS LIKE!" and under it was the huge headline of the NFP 288k number today. My wife's job laid off a bunch of people this week so she was in a raw mood and asked me to post a response under her fb name. So I told her to ask that person what % of the jobs created were part time jobs and why is the labor participation rate at a 35 year low.
The person currently has about 100 "likes". My wife's response is the first response under his stupid post and neither he, nor anyone else has taken a shot at the questions. Nobody cares. It's all good.

Where are the flags this Independence Day in the “Land of the Free”? In my neighborhood this week, a hopeful realtor planted an American flag as a gift from his agency in everyone’s front lawn; and all, save a few, promptly pulled them up.
Today I drove through another residential area (about 30 houses) and saw two flags, quite a difference from the July 4ths of America's happier yesteryears.

OT and sorry if this is long and throws the thread off but fuck snyder anyway. So I pay a shit ton of money for health insurance. A few weeks ago I go golfing. a day later I find a tick on my leg. My wife yells "we pay so much goddamn money for insurance you better go to the doctor". One of my friends is a nurse. I call her first and she tells me to bring the tick so they can test it. I bring it. It was a Saturday and the Doctor working tells me he does not need the tick, That if the tick has lyme, by the time they get the test back I could be affected by the lyme. So they get rid of the tick and just start me on antibiotics for the lyme and test my blood for a baseline and then test it again 2 weeks later (today).
I go back today and the primary doctor whose office it is was in. he asks me to recount what happened. I tell him.
Him: were you able to get in here with the tick? Me: Yes Him: Fantastic Me: your guy threw it out. said there was no need to test it Him: What??? (he then goes on to tell me that was wrong and they should have tested it as a precaution) Him: is there any wound or infection from the tick bite? Me: no (I show him) Him: good...he then put you on antibiotics? Me: Yes, amoxicillin for the Lyme Him: (puts his head in his hands and curses) Me: What the fuck is that about? Him: The Dr. put you on the wrong antibiotic. He treated you for the infection you did not have. Not lyme. Me: so I came in here with a tick and no infection and your guy threw out the tick and treated me not for lyme but for an infection I don't have. Him: that's correct Me: I did not take the antibiotics. Him: smart move on your part, that will be a $50 co pay.Best damn healthcare system in the world! Guy walks into the doctor's office and says "it hurts when I lift my arm." Doctor says "stop lifting your arm." Guy says, "but how do I hail Obama, then?" Doctor is whisked away by men wearing black shirts, tan pants, black boots.

The news media routinely reports on the 5-4 division on many Supreme Court decisions yet ignores the fact the Justice Stephen Breyer votes with the other three "liberal" justices only when there are five "radical right" justice votes to support taking away citizen rights. When Justice Scalia voted with the liberal bloc to vote against mandatory DNA tests for persons arrested but not convicted of crimes, Breyer sided with the conservatives. Today, Breyer did not sign the dissent in the Wheaton case involving Obamacare, birth control and religious institutions opting out. The dissent was co-signed by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Justice Elena Kagan, but not Justice Stephen Breyer, who also dissented with them in Hobby Lobby. Breyer's record shows he is a closet conservative who will always vote against the Bill of Rights if he is the swing vote. So you actually have six Supreme Court justices who are radical conservatives who don't believe in stare decisis, led by Chief Justice John Roberts. Roberts would have found himself at home as a judge on the Nazi Peoples Court 70 years ago. As Roberts proved loading the FISA court with judges like himself, goosestepping judges who hate the Bill of Rights.

I have a few neighbors who are cops. They seem fairly nice, but not particularly bright. To mess with them I casually ask; "so if the shit hits the fan, who are you going to protect, the people or your family? Can't do both." Should be fairly straight forward, but they can’t give me a straight answer. Shows you how brainwashed and indoctrinated they are.

Cops today lack a moral compass every bit as much as they do IQ. 25 years of racial quota hiring has exacerbated this phenomena, immeasurably.
No individual can hold off the Zombie Hoards, so my guess is that all of the police will gather their families and find a secure place to hide out and to protect themselves and their families. Approach them and get shot. Once the looting, rioting, burning and raping are done - and the population greatly reduced - they will come back out and brutaly declare Marshall Law. Of course, that just means that they will confiscate any guns or food that remain, and control any relief or re-supply food. The police and all the other government agencies are not being armed with tanks and heavy weapons in order to stop Zombie hoards - they are being armed so that they can survive to the other side and come out to restore whatever is left. So basically, it is the government 'prepping'.

my daughter is a 30 year old english teacher and because of her position by law she is required to report if any kids show signs of physical abuse coming from home.
My two year old grandson, her son, fell in the water feature pond at a home they just purchased. Son in law saw it happen and was over there in a flash but he did go under water twice. Water feature since filled in.
Point of my post is two days later he developed a very high fever and she called me. I said he may have gotten an infection from something in the pond. She told me she didnt dare tell the doctors at the clininc he fell in a pond for fear of repercussions from child services type laws on the books.
My daugher is college educated and well aware of what is going on in our country but the fact that she was concerned over telling them the truth for fear of governmental over regulations was sobering to me.
How far we have fallen. Sad.
On another note all over Illinois this weekend there are police pulling over every car on highways and smelling their breath. No cause. Just a holiday weekend so you may have had some drinks. We have an ammendment that promises us to be secure in our properties and possessions without search warrants. So on Independence Day all over our state the 4th ammendment is being violated multiple thousands of times.

Representative government no longer works. A direct democracy takes the power away from the politians and gives the power to the people where it belongs. Any new laws, new taxes and foreign entanglements would be subject to a referendum/vote requiring a double majority. The Swiss have had a direct democracy for over 150 years and have one of the world's highest GDP/capita. Time for a change on how we govern ourselves.
