WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Washington Post said on Saturday a study of a large collection of communications intercepted by the U.S. National Security Agency showed that ordinary Internet users, including Americans, far outnumbered legally targeted foreigners caught in the surveillance.
"Nine of 10 account holders found in a large cache of intercepted conversations, which former NSA contractor Edward Snowden provided in full to The Post, were not the intended surveillance targets but were caught in a net the agency had cast for somebody else," the Post said.
And the MSM lap dogs, walking hand-in-hand with the state, seem to think this late hour revelation will save them from the population who was targeted?
Thank you for all that you do William. Most folks on your threads know this already but it bears mentioning again of how hard it is to do what you do on such a consistent basis. It is a lot harder to actually do what you do than it initially might seem. Keep up your great work my friend. Who know's, one day we might just figure out a solution to our recurring dilemma.
"The US navy will conduct a dangerous experiment far from the American coasts. In case that this will succeed, the products from the hydrolysis could be used in pharmaceutical industry, or to the production of pesticides. It's a big business."
well, our nation's birthday and authur -- a storm fit for a king -- have both passed over cape cod, leaving in their wake a litter of confetti and wind-strewn detritus, respectively. and they both bring to mind an insoluble quandary that pits janus against most of the rest.
i can but only continue to defend my position, as i've yet to see anything emergent that could either soften or assuage my resolve. most are still stubbornly convinced that what's needed is a savior; someone or some movement to restore something that was particular to a specific people and developed under favorable (though temporal) conditions.
i long for a destroyer. none of this shit's worth saving. whether it be fiat-banking, corporateocracy, the police/security/spying apparatus, our vacuous and depraved 'culture', the vilification of and hostility to good & decent citizens, our system of institutionalization...i mean 'education'...the triumph of mediocrity through the the authority of grid-like bureaucracy, the total subversion of media, poisonous frankenfoods...on and on and & on & on it goes. and it's all irrevocably tethered together; and you still want to salvage it? are you all suffering from collective delusion?
sometimes it makes me sympathize with the opposition. i mean to say, if people can be made to believe that that which is bad for them is good and vise versa, why bother? knowing that the better part of multiple generations are hopelessly transfixed by the sway of this New Religion of inversion, what hope is there of instant conversion? yes, cloward and piven have initiated a mighty work, and we are gagging at the odor of its full flowering. almost all of you now reading (which represent some of the only now remaining capable of thinking for themselves), yes, even the best of what we have among the thinking classes would shudder if i were to tell you a horrid lil secret like, say, discrimination is a very good thing. go ahead, test it out. be as undiscriminating as you like -- see what it nets you in life. the wisest among men are excessively discriminating concerning all things, especially people. but, don't let this seditious heretic of the New Religion upset you too much...overcoming a lifetime of the intense and ubiquitous conditioning of inversion morality is very difficult. it takes courage.
strange though it may strike the highly-conditioned modern conscience, making value judgements is not a bad thing...but, again, the communists have built a mighty edifice -- and janus would just hate to persuade any into something so painful as critical self-evaluation...or, heaven forefend, force you to confront the realization that all and everything you believe is the artificial and arbitrary construct of eggheads and neer-do-wells that have always despised and feared you. it's tough telling people that they're not defective for appraising the world around them with logic and clear reasoning. this is the highest sin in our New Religion.
most all i see around me are little more than beasts moving from one grunt-filled gratification to the next...each appetite sated with lusty savagery. whether it be the gooey masses of hydrogenation with which they stuff their maws or the pornographic satisfactions they squeeze out with slimy paws, i'm disgusted with the lot of them. and this would all be well and good if it weren't for the fact that their numbers are swelling rapidly, that they are celebrated instead of discriminated and that me and my sons are expected to serve their every whim to absolve the guilt imputed us by this New Religion.
again, i'm beginning to sympathize with the enemy. i mean, fuck it. if this is what 'the people' want and there are not numbers strong and sufficient to stand up against it and realize that we do indeed need to start from scratch...well, as they say, if you can't beat em, join em.
so, in the esprit de fuck it, janus has decided to launch a new cola. i suggest you all buy gobs and gobs of stock early...thisn's gonna go super nova, bitchez.
it's like this:
not long ago, i came across the queerest of discoveries. it seems that arsenic addiction and abuse was rampant in victorian days (and for a lil while afterward). strange, i know, but it seems to be true. i did some research on the matter and i came away with three conclusions.
1) people, on the main, are impossibly stupid -- and, by and large, they have always been so.
2) the effects of mild arsenic poisoning sound interesting, and janus would be interested in trying it...and, i suppose that its atomic # being 33 did in some way stoke my curiosity.
3) the world is now properly prepared for the introduction and chronic consumption of what is sure to be the most popular soda in all of history -- Arsenic Cola!
janus is gonna be swimmin in the dough -- not unlike scrooge macduck -- once this stroke of genius hits the shelf. i will openly and aggressively advertise the fact that this product will both poison and addict them...the american public is a sucker for poison, and they will no doubt gobble the stuff up greedily. if it weren't so, taco bell, arby's etc. wouldn't be the fast food powerhouses that they are. hell, every grocery store shelf and 'medicine' cabinet is testament to american's obsession with poison. i think i'll have an Arsenic Cola line fortified with mercury...tahiti, here janus comes!
Now I am starting to understand your writing style Janus. Talk about stream of conscience. Very James Joyce. I respect what you are saying. I really wish there was a way to go unfuck the system but there isn't. I like following procedures as to how to fix something. There is no procedure for fixing human nature and that is what drives us damn near to batshit crazy.
There is a reason we all congregate on WB7's boards and that reason is that we see things as they are. They tell us the sky can never be blue but we know it can be because we have seen it. There is no question that WB7's board attracts the best bloggers.(of which I am not) But there is a reason we follow him and each with our own strong abilities. And maybe we are not always the same but still we make the same points in our own way. It is our way to tell everyone else to FUCK OFF. If that is what it is going to take then so be it.
Thank you for that post and all you do Janus. And I thank everyone else who posts on WB7's regularly for doing what they do and fighting the fight. I really wish I had a solution but the only thing I know is that we need to keep going no matter how tattered and torn we get becuase one day it might matter. Of note, this sort of resistance has been done before throughout history. It just seems that we, humans, seem to need to keep doing the same thing over and over again to each other throughout recorded history.
You only get to live a for a little while in the entire scheme of things. That vision of the grand scale is our personal hell and we see it for what it is. Can we make people less stupid? I am not sure we can. I tried twice and could only offer a napkin to wipe the spittle from the electorates mouths.
All the same, we can never give up. We never stop and never will stop because we simply can't stop. There will always be someone questioning authority and they will never get rid of us all. Never.
The delusion is all about you, janus. You totally missed the mark.
Cloward-Piven are a historical reference with no practical significance today other than their thesis feeds the conspiratorial paranoia of many on ZH, at least for this week.
The growing impoverishment of the world's middle-class is not a construct of some 1966(!) Columbia professor! GET REAL!
The PROBLEM is simply this, janus: People are being insufficiently paid to maintain capitalism/consumerism.
There is your enemy.
But being underpaid is not a conspiracy. The CONSPIRACY comes later (which is now) when We the People try to fix the political system that is hijacked by corporate money and the corporations fight back.
You should have written about how the corporations are fighting back.
Want to reverse the antipathy? Wish to restore a just and righteous realm? Hope to counteract the general iniquity and official corruption? Remember the master construction of the Romanesqe cathedrals--dark stones raised upon light upon dark. We are in a wave form where the dark actors of this small, small world have some ascension. But they are neither the master builder nor acquainted with the cornerstone. This season of temporary locusts will have their day, but not an era.
Gather your close friend and family. Begin or expand a program of quiet goodness.
Practice charity. Make friends. Be kind to the feeble and unfriendly. Save some of your income. Give labour and real substance even if dubious of the merits of recipient. Do what is right in every case, especially when it hurts your interests. Sell something for well less than it is worth. Make sacrifice of your time, goods, and gifts. Oppose evil wherever you meet it, but without malice without violence. Insist on personal accountability and scrupulousness, especially with yourself. Make yourself exceptionally strong with variety of gifts, and then dare to vulnerability. Make yourself humble even if possessed of great wealth. Practice hard bargaining then occasionally pay more than the original purchase price. Mentor a worthy protege. Speak ever against evil and conspiracies against the common good. Practice "paying it forward" and BELIEVE in dharma, kharma. Make severe your lifestyle from time to time. Fast from food for spiritual enlightenment three days or more and deny your carnal desires often. Crave for greater "light and knowledge". Acknowledge and seek out the mystical. Push a finger into the universe with great and good intent, particularly when it seems most despairing. Make yourself and surroundings and travel companions "CLEAN" in habits and discussions. Practice the highest echelons of the "eight fold path" and urgings of a messiah from sermon on the mount. When once you identify the evil but everpresent coinclippings, the political and financial nuances which strip you of small freedoms, the unkindnesses extended to you by lessor rapacious beings wanting power above you, strive hard against it (for the future generations). However when in their power, walk that extra mile without allowing it to cloud your soul.
Contend against all the evil arrayed against you by good habits, good morals, good hygiene, good conscience. This world and this corporeal existence lasts but a moment but those who strive against all malicious combinations and do well even under dark oppression...they shall have their reward. And the authours of these little deaths against the little man, they too shall have their reward. Peace...and be still. Make yourself this isolation of justice. Your family this. Little by little an army and nation may become this. Then those of the other persuasion cannot find fruiting ground in your midst and must move elsewhere. Far away. Perhaps a galaxy away. This is the threshing floor. This the winnowing ground where wheat and tare fly to their appointed dwelling places. Happiness and peace and gratitude and a quantum leap ( A ladder rung), an escape to an higher order.
you make a fair point. but i should note that causation and the empirical specificities of this or that thing are not my concern. let's say i'm using cloward/piven as a canard, or possibly even a foil -- inasmuch as they're (it's) fresh on ZHealots minds. additionally, there is a great deal of validity in my association. by that i mean to say, if you think that corporatocracy and mendacious think-tankers are independent entities, or that they haven't for long colludeded against americans, their liberties and their outsized wages, well, i'd say your thinking on these things is naive and simplistic.
societal fluxes and forces do not evolve in a vacuum, their elements are not independent and their various interconnections are far too complex to cogently condense in a WB7 post...that being said, i use what i'm given. whatever instrument i'm provided to better destroy with, i seize upon it.
i know how these fuckers work. no longer will i sit back and watch each contrived side bash the other for the benefit of the dastardly few...i'm gonna use both sides to bash the brains outta the beast pulling the wires of each hand's dancin puppets. this left/right shit is over for me. i'm stalking the beast behind it all with dagger drawn.
divide and conquer it is.
folks are far too prone to spot and identify...to diagnose symptoms rather than the underlying disease. to reductively say it's coporations, or politicians, or churches, or banks, or MIC or what-have-you is myopic and distracting. besides which, all of these institutions contain within them many talented and noble people -- folks who could be used to destroy from within -- and why would i want to characterize the whole of a single symptom as the seat of this disease. it's a system that needs destroying, and i intend to attack the hearts and minds of its most zealous adherents.
faith, first and foremost, must be smashed. the system depends on faith; and once it's ceased to burn in the hearts of the believers, the whole thing comes crumblin down. i am going about my duties as a heretic...attacking the most sacred tenants of its religion.
i'll leave the detailed delineation of this and that causation to the writers of dissertations.
We the People got phucked in 2008...no conspiracy necessary. "It was done in plain view of everybody."
AIG even through a huge party afterwards!
It is interesting to hypothesize that the entire crisis of 2008 was indeed a manufactured one. It wasn't like the "other insiders" didn't know there was a bubble too...nor that Alan Greenspan was not only tightening but had in fact inverted the yield curve...for a sustained period of time actually.
"Wringing out the excess called the Middle Class" apparently.
"It is my thesis that there is an alternate metaphysics that is suppressed by the centralized Western establishment, allowing for a covert advancement in highly complex technologies, while the ignorant public have been given a mass consumption physics and worldview that is ultimately a dead-end (materialism)."
Well, I would have to say I had an interesting day today. A good day. It all started when we took to the kids to a parade and that was alright. Yesterday, I had heard on the AM radio that there was B-17 in town. I am a bit of an aviation geek because I just love everything about flying. While at the parade that B-17 flew over twice and it was so cool. Think about it; when is the last time that you ever saw a B-17 pass overhead? Sure you have all heard of them but you rarely see them.
I was wearing my old Ron Paul rEVOLution T-shirt, my ZH ballcap and my "Republicans Against The War" button, which carefully covers a small stain, while in attendence. I figured that if I was going to to go then I would go all in. Good grief there sure were a lot of cops at that parade. I, of course, would be a target but managed to avoid that and the kids and I didn't make any issues other than smoking my hand rolled cigs right there on the curb. People got weird about that. But what are you going to say to a guy wearing a Ron Paul shirt and ZH hat who is a smoking a hand rolled cig on Independence Day? Just be default you can fuck off! People just moved away from me even though I had showered, with soap, just a few hours before.
Trust me, I really hate this kind of parade shit but sometimes you have to take one for the team and in this case it was the kids. But I kept seeing that B-17 flying overhead though. That plane was calling my name. I knew that I to go see it. A flying museum? Really? I am a sucker for museums because I just have to go see what it was all about. So we did go over to the regional airport and saw a bunch more cops but got by them without incident because I needed to see that plane. We got started on an old Stearman trainer bi-plane who owner was really protective being as we had kids with. As we got to talking, he got way more freindly. Especially after I noted that his radial engine had been rebuilt and was not even leaking oil. Anyone who knows anything about radial engine knows that they leak oil...and a lot of it. That was a very nice plane.
My Ron Paul shirt and button attracted attention from the EAA volunteers. I would say that it was positive attention. These aviation enthusiasts are not young men and they are all veterans and volunteers. They do what they still do because they love it and they pour money into their old planes. I saw that the Stearman's exterior had been recently redone and I had to ask how much that cost. 17 grand for that job and he did some work himself. I didn't even want ask about the engine rebuild cost!
On to the B-17. It is a labor of love for these guys and I fully respect them for keeping the few of these birds flying. This bird is named Aluminum Overcast and it even has a wiki about it. That plane is unbelievable in so many ways. That plane was so amazing and we got to go inside and see what it was like. It is no 747 to say the least. Now that I have seen the inside with my own eyes, it was no luxury liner. At this point I was stopped by another EAA voluteer who asked if my Ron Paul shirt was too old now. He was friendly though and said he liked Ron Paul. He just wanted to talk about the state of America these days and I will leave it at that.
Once we got inside of the plane, you really got the feel of what it must have been like. It really had to suck hind tit to try try to fight in one of those planes. Yeah, they have plenty of guns, which of course I had to play with even though it said "Do Not Touch" on them but the range is limited. I sat at the radiomans's station and I wanted to play with the radio for some reason. I really didn't want to touch anything though. I didn't want to break anything.
The best thing that happened is when I went into the cockpit and found another EAA volunteer. He was an old man and we got to talking. Turns out he was 94 years old and a pilot of a B-17 on bombing raids over Germany. Once again my old ratty Ron Paul shirt gave me some credence. The man realized that I knew what was going on because I asked why one engine was different than the other three. Hey, not many folks would notice that type of thing. We talked more for a bit after we had shaken hands and he looked me straight in the eyes and said "Keep doing what you are doing and thank you for showing interest". I shook his hand again and thanked him and do you know what? He gave me a pat on the back. We don't get that kind of thing too often.
Berfore we left I had to ask man how much it costs to fill this plane up and he said that there were two 400 gallon tanks in the wings and two 300 gallon tank in the back. I had to ask if it was running 100LL fuel.(100LL is 100 octane low lead aviation fuel) and he replied that, no that the engines were meant to run 114 octane high lead gasoline. He also said that those engines will burn an average of 200 gallons of fuel per hour. It boggles the mind to consider how much going to war actually costs.
So a few hours ago we take the kids to go to the fireworks display. St. Cloud does not tax subsidize the fireworks... it is all from donations. It's a damned good show too. The one problem I had is that I couldn't see the fireworks for all the flashing red and blue lights. The cops were everywhere and fucking with people who were doing nothing wrong. Sirens and shit blaring all over and they even brought the State Patrol. Pulling people over for no reason and asking for ID. We don't need that shit around here. Hey what about the local cops? They won't do anything unless something serious happens. Never saw a St Cloud cop anywhere, it was all state patrol going full Nazi. I have no problems with the local cops and they seem to do their job well. It makes a guy wonder if it was all worth it just to get to this point where the state steps in everywhere. It makes you wonder if all of those guys who died, supposedly for our country, did so in vain. I would hate to think that way but let's be realistic. I see what I see with my own eyes and will not write otherwise.
Nice story. Wish you had not been rude smoking the stogey in peoples faces but maybe "they deserved it"?
"Keep doing what you are doing and thank you for showing interest".
What are you doing, manipulation? The point of your story is that we fought battles against fascism in order to protect our freedoms, right?
Well, the enemy is now our corporations and the big money they collected by not paying you and your kids and your neighbors kids a decent wage. That money goes to buying influence in politcs.
What are you doing to stop that and get your democracy back?
Pay attention to the details. He showers only when necessary, likely with a partner. He uses soap conservatively. He rarely buys new clothes. He rolls his own.
In other words he is helping destroy those evil corporations by stepping back, way back, from the walmart generation of consumers. Everyone knows the day consumers wake up and quit consuming is the day the PTB fall from their clouds in the sky.
I will bite on this one. Do I need to post my resume somewhwere on ZH to let everyone know what I have already done? I really don't think you are off point by your post but I do beleive that you may have misunderstood. I have some pride in the fact that I was part of the Ron Paul Revolution. I, and a few others like me, took it to the extreme and became officers in the GOP. You want to talk about a procedural fight? We carried on until 2012 and gave it go again. That is, in my opinion, being very hardcore.
I am not sure what else you want me to do. When you try to fight agsint the machine you are up agaisnt the wall bigtime. I was a Treasurer so I saw where the money cam from and where it went. You can not lie to me and tell me any different and that fact is scary to a lot of politicos and CEO's. Don't piss on my leg and tell me it is raining.
For what is worth, we destroyed the Republican party in 2008 and 2012. How do you think you have BO running ths shitshow. We knew the guy would spend. ANd that is the only thing that we can do because we understood the bonds and bomb markets. Now look how it goes. Gotta buy a t-bill right?
It all points to the real problem which is central banking. To your point, yes, the corporations are a huge part of the problem. Look at any of of their human resources departments for example. What a hive of nitwit crabby old incompetent women. Let me get this sparkling clear for you, ALL RON PAULERS LOST THEIR CORPORATE JOBS, myself included. They got rid of us and thought that by cutting off our funding that they would stop us. Well, they did stop some in this way but I am still going.
The truth is that you have no idea how ruthless these people are. They don't care how many lives they destroy in their quest for power. And what you have to know is that every single person in this state who was for Ron Paul lost their jobs. I can not even think of one person who still works for the same company they were with at the the start of the campaign. Not one single person made it through.
They are some ruthless motherfuckers and they have connections but the point is that we do now too. Our connection is the people. Yeah, that is a tough row to how but we are gaining ground. I may not see it in my lifeltime but one day, if we keep it up, they will acquiesce.
Your observations near the end are a bit chilling.
Many Americans think as you, but due to fear of work reprecussions or social reprecussions they play PC.
Problem is for many, they do not now how to deal with it is the "security" of their current lives are threatened economically or socially. They are not used to standing up fr what they may believe in, they are too used to waiting in lineand doing what they are told.
Obama says the USA is a nation of laws, too many ofthem as far as am concerned and too many people are following the laws blindly and not questioning whether they benefit them or society at all.
We need more Ron Pauls, a new generation or two of him and a whole lot less enforcement.
What we have now is a plutocracy, not a democracy. Our Republic has been hijacked by the 0.1% elite.
Our political system is a pay-to-play racket where the popular will no longer matters. Money is now the determinate factor for decision making. It was never supposed to be this way but our equally hijacked SCOTUS thinks otherwise.
This country is in ruins only it doesn't know it yet.
Dear ZH fans, help America return to the democratic republic it once was. Are you sending money to progressive or conservative or populist causes? STOP!
Make your money count. Pledge to support Harvard Law Professor Lawrence Lessig's MAYDAY PAC to end the power of money in politics: Go to the MAYDAY PAC website and make a donation!
Mayday PAC began in May 2014.[2] Its long-term goal is to raise sufficient funds to elect a majority in the House and 60 senators to vote for fundamental reform of the system of campaign finance, according to Lessig.[3]
Yes, we want to spend big money to end the influence of big money... Ironic, I get it. But embrace the irony.
The fund-raising plan is a variation on traditional crowd funding approaches in that specified fund-raising targets must be met by certain dates.[10] Lessig explained that the immediate goal is to raise enough money to sway five elections to Congress.[4] He said:
We’ve structured this as a series of matched-contingent goals. We’ve got to raise $1 million in 30 days; if we do, we’ll get that $1 million matched. Then we’ve got to raise $5 million in 30 days; if we do, we’ll get that $5 million matched as well. If both challenges are successful, then we’ll have the money we need to compete in 5 races in 2014. Based on those results, we’ll launch a (much much) bigger effort in 2016 — big enough to win.
I've read some of Lessig's work and find him to be an interesting and original thinker. However, as the article linked below shows he still believes change is possible within the system and has high hopes for Hillary of all people:
However, when I asked him why he attended Bilderbooger last year he didn't reply.
In my opinion money is the source of the problem not because it enables mass persuasion, but because it is the juice that enables the corporate elites to dictate everything that is happening.
The Sheeple are so dumb they will eat whatever two course menu is slapped on their table. By the time it gets to them the Hobbsian choice has already been spun on K Street.
Other than this idea being completely idiotic - give money to a Harvard professor led PAC to get money out of politics - do you have any other bone head ideas to further destroy even more quickly what little is left of the republic?
Insane as it sounds, now wait a minute [pause], no no it IS truly insane. The goal of getting money out of politics is an alleged common "goal" of many if not all PAC. Just read the ludicrous arguments used to get you to give them money.
Few people, with a clue, could possibly have any regard for the competency of any Harvard faculty member. It is a high falutin' collection of clowns whose primary purpose is to justify the current state of affairs
Finally while I have respect for Karl Rove, he certainnly has a better record of getting people elected than this meathead Lessig. But remember the last Presidential election. Rove raised as much or more money than nearly any other money PAC group. Yet the results were a disaster for his group. They couldn't even beat a very lame President and actually lost seats in the Senate. Falling a bit short of his money rasing guarantees of a Republican President and Senate.
He's a had a devil of time raising as much money this time around as he did last time due to his failure to come even close. The darned free market, unlike government work, requires performance to keep the money flowing.
So how is professor dimwitty going to do better electing his hoice candidates his very first time out? "Don't worry about a thing. I'm a Harvard professor. Every thing will work out just fine. Now gimme your money."
As I remember, and I am on just about every Democrat and Republican money raising list that exiasts, the Republicans raise money saying that they are going to cut government size, spending, regulations and taxes. Never happened. Government grew including spending and regulations(!) when the GOP controlled the Presidency and both houses of Congress.
Now you want me to give money to a a big government Harvard professor on his promise that it will only be used to get money out of politics. Now that sounds like a "Dream Act," all too likely to wind up a Nightmare Act. The idea of electing left wing loons whose "hearts are the right place" but who will ultimately find they need to stay on and on and on, all in the name of fighting the "good fight" against all those "other" politicians does not sit well. Yah, I can see his working out very well. Anyone else think there should some kind of gullibilty filter for ZH contributors?
Remember the Term Limit movement to elect citizen office holders who would move on after only one or two terms. That sure worked out well (sarc). Few who ran on term limit platforms ever stuck to their promises of limiting their terms.
At the risk of sounding too cycnical, electing a new batch of bums to replace the old batch on the word of a spokesman for one of the major apologists for our present state of tyranny is not going to make any difference. But that's just me.
After reading your rant, I was struck by the fact that, NOWHERE(!) do you acknowledge that we have a problem with money in our political system.
Do you think we have a problem? Is the Pay-to-Play decision making system in the USA bad for the people, tolivian? Or do you like it?
I ask this because I did not hear your alternative to the "big-headed" Law Professor. Maybe you have some awesome movement of your own to allow the popular will to finally be expressed?
Well then, "OUT WITH IT", tolivian! Share your smarty ideas with us... or get off the pot!
BTW, "term limits" are pure idiocy. Term Limits presupposes that the corporations who are bankrolling candidates all across America have some limit to their coffers. They don't.
Remember when they said that paying out bonuses from the TARP money was critical to "protecting the integrity of the system"?
In no other workplace does everyone get a raise if the fatory blows up. Infact people who had nothing to do with the fault even often lose their jobs, health and sometime their lives.
Keynesian Economic is a religion. But worse than every other tradtional religion in all measures I can think of.
A New & Improved Declaration of Independence (well, sorta)
i, janus, hold this Truth to be perfectly self-evident -- all men are NOT created equal. in point of fact, most of them are improvident/incompetent boobs bumbling through the various assignations of their maudlin and mediocre existence.
we have before us now the putrefaction of an intentional misinterpretation; in that, equality before the law is conflated with 'equality' of persons. the untermensch have banded together, utilizing 'democracy' to neutralize the advantages they so spitefully envy in others.
we have before us now their 'president' -- the very emblem of untermensch and their anointed dolt par excelance -- presiding over 535 untermensch, all of whom devoted to the principals of suffocating their betters beneath a sea of duplicity and the tyranny of the untermensch's majority.
i will NEVER accept such sophistry as suggests that huissain obama is the equal of janus -- i am to him superior in every single regard. and so it is with our modern notions of 'democracy' and the plastic philosophy undergirding it...all men are equal -- what the fuck? no they most certainly are not.
it is sad but true that this humble cab driver, if he were granted an audience with this 'president' or ANY of the 535 over which he presides, would with grace and great verve leave them quivering molds of jello. and the same is true of many who post here on the Hedge.
fuck these pathetic twats. certainly, they are equal one to another; that is to say, they're all a bunch of sorry dullards doing all they can to suppress and suffocate The Natural Order before it subsumes them. tragically, most of them would not even make for suitable slaves. i'd have to whip & whip & whip & whip them...and still, i suspect that all this ceaseless whipping would be of little to no avail. even so, i reckon i'd go about whipping them pitilessly just for the hell of it -- it is often the case that the untermensch must be instructed as to their place, and particularly at such times as these, when they start to fancy themselves as 'equal' to their betters.
i declare my independence from the untermensch...in the future (very, very near future) voting will be limited to those who can demonstrate the capacity for critical thought, advanced reading-comprehension, can do fairly basic addition/subtraction/multiplication/division & yes a touch of algebra, voters must have some sense of the mechanisms of government and the nature of law...in short, the kind of folks who've found their way to the Hedge.
God bless America...God save America...God damn the untermensch!
here are your beloved voters and your steaming hordes of unwashed imbeciles...vote on bitchez!
One of the most famous phrases in American history may have had its meaning changed by a wayward drop of ink. According to the scholar Danielle Allen, the National Archives’ copy of the Declaration of Independence has an error—a period right after the phrase “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” That period, she says, has caused a “routine but serious misunderstanding” throughout history, thinking that the sentence ends there. In fact, it continues with “instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” The difference, she argues, is that “The logic of the sentence moves from the value of individual rights to the importance of government as a tool for protecting those rights. You lose that connection when the period gets added.” The errant period apparently does not exist on other copies, including Thomas Jefferson’s rough draft. As a result of Allen’s work, the National Archives is considering changes to its online presentation of the Declaration.
You can't impose the New Order, without getting rid of the Old Order.

You can always tell a fascist by the way they attempt to empower the state over the individual. My rights would still be there whether there was a federal government or not or whether it chose to recognize and value my rights or not.
Note this, the document commissioned by Congress in 1777 contained no period there. It was after 1823 that the "period" appeared on copies. Everyone see for yourself, no period 1777...
...and !823 with "period" which is really just a very small flaw in the copper plate used to print copies, compare other "periods" in that document (her document) to her "period" to see what a period looks like...
nmewn, you are a jewel your posts are always worth reading,, thanks over all these years of ZH. Kudos again to billy bonzai, hope you helped the hong kong people's march for more freedom from central china. people over the globe seem to be coming to understand : smaller government is what we most need to live without chains and corruption.
For tactical reasons I stay clear of local politics, but I have told many locals how much I admire their civic activism. They are well organized, diverse and very creative.
You can't impose the New Order, without getting rid of the Old Order.
truer words are rarely spoken. but the thing of it is, when it comes to the business of paradigm resets and epochal threshings, incrementalism just isn't the way. in such cases sudden and absolute smashings are called for -- boldly in the light of day, so that the people may gape in awe, all well aware that the old kings are dead. we can quibble with the allen's of the world till the cows come home. or, in very short order, we can have ms. allen reassigned to something better suited to her aptitudes and inclinations...i'm thinking domestic servant of some sort. i dunno, perhaps she could slop the swine, tend to the sows or milk the cows. she will be much happier and the world will be a better place for it. look, i recognize that such ribald humor makes janus the bad guy; but if you bitchez had any idea what the ms. allens of the world think of janus and what they'd like to do with he and those like him...well, my friends, my poking fun at ms. allen's fitness for menial servitude is but the mildest of slights (and it happens to be true).
perhaps i'm wrong, maybe they'll be a market for ms. allen's idiocy...maybe she'll be able to make a go of things as an ironic caricature of her former self.
my point with all this is: the rest of you can go ahead and engage these hapless half-lings in debate all you like. i can clearly see that they now matter only to themselves. i'm through the looking glass -- it was at first as if darkly, but now i see clearly. the world isn't just changing; the change is already effected.
let me put it another way. you do not kill a serpent by picking off each of its scales one by one, you chop the goddam thing's head off. moreover, snakes are not fit for debate -- such is the most fruitless of futility.
who the fuck would want to 'unite' this 'nation' anyway? the only means of securing anything independently vital from what remains is to form a new nation from within it, leaving so very many out. there they can blame us and prove how we were always holding them back and finally be free of our wicked 'discriminations'...from there they will show us! i can't wait to see their awesome city on a hill, with ms. allen holding forth liberty's beacon, as the great siren of statism.
the seeds of divisiveness have long since been sown. it's not my responsibility to clear this briar field. i can't convince major components of our population that everything they've been told is a lie to manipulate their numbers and naivete. and so i won't even try. hatred and bigotry are not only tolerated within certain communities, they are the very pillars of their perspective. they do not understand the world apart from hatred and bigotry as a necessary response to all the suffering imposed by the larger population's vicious 'discrimination'.
look, i didn't want it this way...i truly do want to get along with each and every. i am genuinely interested in the variegated cultures that color this globe, and usually am able to find some merit in each (though i refuse to concede that all are 'equal'). i guess, in the end, ancient wisdom always prevails. all peoples need their place; and it seems that it's best if those places are separate. i can't look at the world as it stands and come to any other conclusion. and as obvious and rational as this all is, saying such is positively verboten. things are so goddam crazy these days that that which is most logical is necessarily precluded from the debate -- especially if that debate relates to people.
and so, insofar as i'm not out to win friends, influence people or place in any popularity contests, i'll continue to say what is most agonizingly evident; because it hurts; and because it's a good kinda pain...all in the milieu of the olde-school heretics. we take the people's idols and smash them in the streets. hang the high-priests in the city square (and paint paradise square with their blood...two coats!). raze their temples and burn their holy writ...and it's grand fun making a spectacle of it.
the people's humanism and its superstitions are laughable to me. but, go on you true-believein crusaders for your preposterous and faddish causes, you give me so much delicious material with which to mock you. i'm gonna hurt so many feelings and be so hilariously brutal about it...garsh, i giggle at the prospect.
The milky-grey chem-trailed skies are blotting out my view of the deep azure blue that I should be seeing on this July 4th. The first geo-engineered storm of the season ('Arthur') is hitting the Carolinas right now. The Gulf of Mexico is all but DEAD. Oklahoma is experiencing an ongoing series of 'micro-quakes' due to multinationals using the process of 'Hydraulic Fracturing' to break apart the living gut-rocks that support the North American plate (but the oil at Gull Island is held in 'strategic reserve'). Larry Silverstein is still working on counting his insurance settlement over the WTC thing (He likes to count the dollars in one-dollar increments. At this rate, he will be at least 2,520 years old before he gets done).
I can buy a Chinese-made polystyrene 3 foot by five foot 'mercun' flag, complete with a really cheap and shitty 'metal' pole (plated with something that makes it look like 'gold'), for only $5.99, at my local 'hardware store'; in celebration of this 'holy-day'. As long as the wind speed doesn't exceed 5MPH, I don't think this thing will fall down (fray, bend, or get otherwise mutilated).
The horny, fat, ugly female clerk who has already popped out two squalling brats by the age of 19 (without benefit of marriage) seemed to be somewhat miffed as I counted out exact change. It took her five minutes to separate the dollars from the cents and put it in her till (with the assistance of the 'assistant manager' guy, bedecked with fag tatoos and an earring). I stood there silently, listening as they were both breathing heavily (like pigs after glutting themselves on a feast of corn rinds).
NAW, I made this last paragraph up. I didn't buy a Chinese-made flag. I simply read the ad in the local mail flyer that was promoting it (seriously).
The alternet intelligence chatter seems to indicate that the time of 15-20 July may be some type of 'tipping point' for the CONUS.
Give me liberty or give me a Kardashian, you say? Okay, I might consider that deal. Do I get to chose the Kardashian? Can I limit the amount of time I would have to actually talk or listen to her?
You're both approaching the problem from the wrong angle.
The game is rigged (and that's for sure), and the riggers (the 'House', as it were) THINKS that they have covered 'every bet'.
OBVIOUSLY, you can't win when you play by the 'rules' that they have imposed. Trying to 'join a party' and 'work from within' to effect 'change' will yield a stone wall of opposition; and the results are obvious (see 'Ron Paul' for eludication).
The issue is that their WEAKNESSES may be leveraged to their disadvantage. The war-pig planners in the Pentagram like to refer to this issue as 'assymetrical warfare'. When the temptation of 'Usury' comes in to play, most think of a night in Vegas (on the 'credit card'). WHAT IF (for example), one could use this 'credit' to make purchaces that allow the 'alleged debtor' to get some long-term assurances of personal and familial survival? After all, the collapse of the currency is imminent, and what are they going to do when the value of the fiat paper electronic transactions approaches ZERO? DEMAND FULL PAYMENT in their 'fiat dollars'? It's UNSECURED (don't you know?)!
Of course, if you have willingly fettered yourselves with a death-promise (a 'MORT-GAGE'), the issues are different. You have 'enjoined the party' and promised to pay for the priveledge of living on this Earth on a very small parcel of land (condo, subdivision, whatever the corporate builders have deemed fit to live in) that is being claimed to be owned by the 'bank' for the next 30 years or so (as the STATE imposes 'property taxes' on you as well, and holds the ACTUAL Admiralty Title with the 'right' to evict should you fail to pay THEM as well. The parasitic groups AKA 'community associations' or 'neighborhood associations' or 'homeomer associations' are ALSO laying claim to your 'property' in the manner of 'dues', and they like to COMMAND that you paint your 'house' only one color, or FORBID you from putting up fences).
Armchair analysts continue to bewail the loss of 'freedom', while failing to excersize the remaining freedoms that they actually have; until the time comes whan it is too late to do anything about it. With freedom comes responsibility. Responsibility entails the pain of choice and the consequences of action (or, in the case of the armchair analysts, INACTION). Degression entails NO PAIN, but PROGRESSION really hurts, sometimes.
Who the FUCK is this 'FAIR ISSAC' guy, anyway? (The 'FICO' scoring dude)
I'm old enough to remember when 'LIBOR' meant 'London Interbank Overnight (lending) Rate'.
"slaves in invisible shackles of servitude to Usury have no liberty."
Slaves who do not study their history are destined to repeat it; and each progressive genaration will be more enslaved than the last.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

No kidding...lol.
And the MSM lap dogs, walking hand-in-hand with the state, seem to think this late hour revelation will save them from the population who was targeted?
As always WB great work. Speaking of art, here is a video of a small drone flying and filming through a fireworks show. This is incredible!

That's a great George a Wash. Perfect.
well, our nation's birthday and authur -- a storm fit for a king -- have both passed over cape cod, leaving in their wake a litter of confetti and wind-strewn detritus, respectively. and they both bring to mind an insoluble quandary that pits janus against most of the rest.
i can but only continue to defend my position, as i've yet to see anything emergent that could either soften or assuage my resolve. most are still stubbornly convinced that what's needed is a savior; someone or some movement to restore something that was particular to a specific people and developed under favorable (though temporal) conditions.
i long for a destroyer. none of this shit's worth saving. whether it be fiat-banking, corporateocracy, the police/security/spying apparatus, our vacuous and depraved 'culture', the vilification of and hostility to good & decent citizens, our system of institutionalization...i mean 'education'...the triumph of mediocrity through the the authority of grid-like bureaucracy, the total subversion of media, poisonous frankenfoods...on and on and & on & on it goes. and it's all irrevocably tethered together; and you still want to salvage it? are you all suffering from collective delusion?
sometimes it makes me sympathize with the opposition. i mean to say, if people can be made to believe that that which is bad for them is good and vise versa, why bother? knowing that the better part of multiple generations are hopelessly transfixed by the sway of this New Religion of inversion, what hope is there of instant conversion? yes, cloward and piven have initiated a mighty work, and we are gagging at the odor of its full flowering. almost all of you now reading (which represent some of the only now remaining capable of thinking for themselves), yes, even the best of what we have among the thinking classes would shudder if i were to tell you a horrid lil secret like, say, discrimination is a very good thing. go ahead, test it out. be as undiscriminating as you like -- see what it nets you in life. the wisest among men are excessively discriminating concerning all things, especially people. but, don't let this seditious heretic of the New Religion upset you too much...overcoming a lifetime of the intense and ubiquitous conditioning of inversion morality is very difficult. it takes courage.
strange though it may strike the highly-conditioned modern conscience, making value judgements is not a bad thing...but, again, the communists have built a mighty edifice -- and janus would just hate to persuade any into something so painful as critical self-evaluation...or, heaven forefend, force you to confront the realization that all and everything you believe is the artificial and arbitrary construct of eggheads and neer-do-wells that have always despised and feared you. it's tough telling people that they're not defective for appraising the world around them with logic and clear reasoning. this is the highest sin in our New Religion.
most all i see around me are little more than beasts moving from one grunt-filled gratification to the next...each appetite sated with lusty savagery. whether it be the gooey masses of hydrogenation with which they stuff their maws or the pornographic satisfactions they squeeze out with slimy paws, i'm disgusted with the lot of them. and this would all be well and good if it weren't for the fact that their numbers are swelling rapidly, that they are celebrated instead of discriminated and that me and my sons are expected to serve their every whim to absolve the guilt imputed us by this New Religion.
again, i'm beginning to sympathize with the enemy. i mean, fuck it. if this is what 'the people' want and there are not numbers strong and sufficient to stand up against it and realize that we do indeed need to start from scratch...well, as they say, if you can't beat em, join em.
so, in the esprit de fuck it, janus has decided to launch a new cola. i suggest you all buy gobs and gobs of stock early...thisn's gonna go super nova, bitchez.
it's like this:
not long ago, i came across the queerest of discoveries. it seems that arsenic addiction and abuse was rampant in victorian days (and for a lil while afterward). strange, i know, but it seems to be true. i did some research on the matter and i came away with three conclusions.

Thanks for that, Janus.
You might find this apropos.

An excerpt:
Manipulation, fighting fire with fire.
Salute!
I like your story.
So we can breath again
The American eagle looks drunk, constipated, and flat broke.

To the Americans in the audience:
What we have now is a plutocracy, not a democracy. Our Republic has been hijacked by the 0.1% elite.
Our political system is a pay-to-play racket where the popular will no longer matters. Money is now the determinate factor for decision making. It was never supposed to be this way but our equally hijacked SCOTUS thinks otherwise.
This country is in ruins only it doesn't know it yet.
Dear ZH fans, help America return to the democratic republic it once was. Are you sending money to progressive or conservative or populist causes? STOP!
Make your money count. Pledge to support Harvard Law Professor Lawrence Lessig's MAYDAY PAC to end the power of money in politics: Go to the MAYDAY PAC website and make a donation!
https://mayday.us/newpledge/?utm_source=All+Supporters+List&utm_campaign...
Wiki:
Mayday PAC began in May 2014.[2] Its long-term goal is to raise sufficient funds to elect a majority in the House and 60 senators to vote for fundamental reform of the system of campaign finance, according to Lessig.[3]
The fund-raising plan is a variation on traditional crowd funding approaches in that specified fund-raising targets must be met by certain dates.[10] Lessig explained that the immediate goal is to raise enough money to sway five elections to Congress.[4] He said:
I've read some of Lessig's work and find him to be an interesting and original thinker. However, as the article linked below shows he still believes change is possible within the system and has high hopes for Hillary of all people:
http://www.vice.com/en_ca/read/we-talked-to-larry-lessig-about-the-super...
I also agree with much of what he writes.
Hillary is a disgusting, corporatist sell-out.
But let us not shoot the messenger. Lessig is not the issue. His plan is.
Focus on the plan to stop big-money directing public policy.
But that's just me.
you lost me with "respect for karl rove"
winning elections means nothing if it means sabotaging a nation.
They don't.

"Stench of the Union" indeed.
It was the bailouts, TARP, no jail time for the engineers of the crash but a big fat reward that put me over the edge.
I'd had my doubts but those solidified them. Thirty years of working hard and doing the right things only to be punished for it.
No more trust, no more allegiance, no more playing your game New Rome.
Amen, the wife and I are becomming more independant every day.

Well, actually, the present Administration does want to make some changes . . .
Oh Hell No: Change Contemplated To The Declaration Of Independence?

Everyone see for yourself, no period 1777...
http://declarationsite.com/target0.html
...and !823 with "period" which is really just a very small flaw in the copper plate used to print copies, compare other "periods" in that document (her document) to her "period" to see what a period looks like...

In other words, fuck this ignorant "scholarly" bitch.

Fuck 'em, Monty, fuck 'em all.
< Give me liberty or give me EBT and an Obamaphone.
< Give me liberty or ... uh ... something... Oh look! Kardashians!
Give me liberty or give me a Kardashian, you say? Okay, I might consider that deal. Do I get to chose the Kardashian? Can I limit the amount of time I would have to actually talk or listen to her?
slaves in invisible shackles of servitude to DC have no liberty
slaves in invisible shackles of servitude to Usury have no liberty.
