What Next For Ukraine - Ethnic Cleansing?

Tyler Durden's picture

Authored by Daniel McAdams via The Ron Paul Institute,

Global chessboard enthusiast Zbigniew Brzezinski has a plan for Ukraine. In a recent speech to the Woodrow Wilson Center, excerpted by the Atlantic Council, he argues forcefully in favor of the United States providing the Ukrainian military far more weapons.

Under the guise of preventing a Russian invasion of Ukraine, which has been the rallying cry of those who seek more US involvement in the region, Brzezinski believes that the US must provide Ukraine with enough weapons to deter Russian aggression toward Ukraine.

The odds of defending against the invading Russian military being very low, Brzezinski has a different idea of how the US should arm the Kiev government.

Said the former National Security Advisor:

I feel that we should make it clear to the Ukrainians that if they are determined to resist, as they say they are and seemingly they are trying to do so (albeit not very effectively), we will provide them with anti-tank weapons, hand-held anti-tank weapons, hand-held rockets—weapons capable for use in urban short range fighting.

The US must provide urban warfare equipment to the Kiev government, he says, in order to forestall the impending Russian invasion.

But what else could a huge shipment of urban warfare weapons and the advisors that go with them be used for?

Ethnic cleansing.

We already see with the resumption of Kiev's attacks on the east, a sharp turn toward the targeting of civilian apartment blocks and non-military targets. We know from a recent United Nations report that more than 100,000 have already fled eastern Ukraine. The country's post-coup president, Petro Poroshenko, was very clear, ending the ceasefire (that wasn't much of a ceasefire) by stating that "We will attack and we will liberate our land!"

Does that mean liberating it from the "others" who do not accept rule by the post-coup government? Those who Kiev's prime minister Arseniy "Yats" Yatsenyuk has already called "subhumans"?

Urban warfare equipment and training for the Kiev military machine would, as Russian political scientist Yevgeny Minchenko points out, mean "municipal infrastructure will be destroyed, leading to a humanitarian catastrophe." In his view, “[t]he war will continue, and people will gradually leave their homes. It will be bad for both sides, but neither one can stop now.”

Brzezinski has long advocated US domination of Ukraine to deprive Russia of any productive relationship with its neighbor. "Without Ukraine, Russia ceases to be a Eurasian empire,” he wrote in his 1997 book book, The Grand Chessboard.

Ethnic cleansing of ethnic Russians and Russian speakers may be exactly what Brzezinski has in mind.

Zer0head, you are a classic asshat, neocons are not in charge now son, that would the liberal loons, such as yourself.  You f'ing liberaltardians always want to blame conservatism for all the ills of the world, go fuck yourself, okay.  Thanks.

The liberal loons have been in control and in charge for over the last 70+ years, get a grip and quit blaming everything under the sun on conservatives, it is quite stupid.

Abi, the "neocons" are nothing but unreconstructed leftists who infiltrated the Republican party in the 1980s, adopted some conservative-sounding rhetoric, and progressively shifted the frame of reference for the conservative voting base over the next 30 years. The administration of "neocon" George W. Bush was so liberal it would have been considered a joke to call it "conservative as recently as 50 years ago. So, when you say "liberal loons," you need to include the "neocons" in that category, or you're viewing history through a distorted lens.

Real conservatives saw their last great hope in Pat Buchanan's campaign, which was demonized by these false conservatives who call themselves "neocons."

The neocons have the blood of over a million Iraqis on their hands, and they have been tirelessly trying to lie us into wars with Iran and Syria.  So much do they control the MSM narrative that the American people think Iran has nuclear weapons, while totally unaware, of course, that Israel stole chrytons and probably nuclear material from the US - on top of being complicit with our own neocon infested Deep State in running 9/11.

They want more war, more death, and they don't want it for any other reason than Greater Israel

It's just too bad that none of the "returning vets" paid a visit to Mr. Kristol, or Mr. Perle, or Mr. Kagan....  all walking around fat and happy and appearing on Sunday talk shows, as if they are experts.  As if they want anything other than American kids and American taxpayers to help execute the Zionist plan to remake the middle-east in blood and white phosphorus.

And we just let them.  And we'll let them infest Hillary's administration and lie us into more wars.  And the media will cheer it all on, and represent every foe as pure unreasoning evil.

And nobody will say of the neocons that they are right wing Zionist Jews out to kill hundreds of thousands to that Israel can be a superpower.   God forbid you be called an 'anti-Semite' by Abe Foxman.  That he is a hypocrite, a liar, and a racist himself is of no moment.  He is immune from criticism, and will spend his remaining days continuing to go to award ceremonies and Holocaust Memorial openings - another one just opened, I forget where.

Indeed it is the Jewishness of the neocons [and most Jews are not, of course, neocons even if they can be expected to be broadly pro-Israel] which insulates them from criticism - even unto being able to write op eds and appear on television after their deliberate lies to get us into Iraq for Israel.

At some point, the American people must accept the blame for being led to needless wars by this small cabal of bloodthirsty, racist, lying men.

Polish born Brzezinski aided David Rockefeller in founding the Trilateral Commission in 1973. As National Security Council Advisor to President Jimmy Carter, Brzezinski presided over many US foreign policy gaffes, including the loss of Iran as a US client state. The errors against US interests were so egregious that some critics stated that Brzezinski had a greater, hidden agenda in promoting globalist ambitions.

Here she is with the Mercedes, absolutely nothing American made in these videos.  I am sure the clothes are all French or Italian designer brands she is wearing, while the Camera crew is wearing Chinese made clothes and the electronic equipment is also made in China.  Who needs the USA dollar ???  We are going to be in for some rude awakening real soon.  Millions more will be joining the poverty ranks once the dollar gets tossed.

There's this, too:

This Is Why Washington Has Sought To Create A Crisis In Ukraine :

In the early 1980s, a European top NATO admiral said that American colleagues at the Pentagon had told him, unequivocally, that the US and UK would not hesitate in creating a new European war if the situation ever arose that Europe and Russia, then the USSR, were to develop close relations.

And since the article above mentions the petrodollar, might as well add today's Jim Willie:

Jim Willie: Collapse Has Occurred: Hyperinflation Meets Asset Destruction!

The most recent tipping points are the Syria War and the Ukraine War to obstruct the Russian Energy monopoly in the European energy market. Further signals abound, but are more effectively hidden. Cyprus, Syria, and Ukraine all have Gazprom obstruction in common.   The defense of the USDollar has taken historically unprecedented turns.

I was stunned.

Tyle are you on acid?  Your article doesn't show a single point as to why someone wanting to protect Ukraine from Russia would want to kill Russians in Ukraine.

Your journalism sucks!  At least put some reasoning in there.

We all know that some of the "Tylers" are E. European...

Either stick to the economic analysis, or give a balanced view, or at least give us some reasoning behind your hypothesis.  This is just really low-grade journalism, and I know you can do better.

"Ukrainian Facebook posting: “We have not killed one Russian, we did not take their land or introduce troops on their territory, did not grab their resources. We simply became a free people for one week. Is this enough for Russia to declare war on us with a unanimous decision and  the full approval of the Russian people! Why do they hate us? Because of freedom? Because of different thinking?"

Why don't you actually dispute my reply rather than simply insult?  Let me spell it out for you -- do you see one reason mentioned in the article explaining why Ukranians would be likely to "ethnically cleanse" Russians"?  I'm simply calling out this Tyler on the peice of shit writing in this article, he's just spouting the Russian prop machine without a single reason to even attempt to back it up.

The assumption must be, that a lot of ZH readers are schizo-paranoid idiots who are in love with any anti-West theory and are completely brain-dead otherwise.  This is likely the case, you will probably be able to pick up a few of them to join your parade.  However, there are also a lot of thinking people here who don't want to waste their time.

"Tyler", your McAdam article summarizing Brzezsinski's speech is wildly inaccurate and blatently misrepresents the talk.

For those who care, here is a summary of what he actually said:

  • There is an emerging "chauvinism" in Russia, largely supported by less educated Russians wanting to reclaim their lost identity as a powerful empire, with a unique culture and religion.
  • Russia now claims a certain sovereignty wherever Russians live.
  • Russian aggression in Ukraine threatens to disrupt post WWII stabilities, particularly in Baltic nations, Georgia, Moldova, and Belarus.

He advises the following:

  • Deter use of force by Russia, stop Russia from destabilizing Ukraine further.  Accompany this effort with a dialog and attempt compromise with Russia.
  • Support Ukrainian resistance with defensive weapons designed for urban resistance warfare.
  • Encourage the development of a Ukraine that has mutually beneficial trade relations with both the EU and Russia, is not part of NATO, and maintains its own distinct sovereignty.

He also mentions that the Crimea annexation will be an economic liability to Russia, tourism will suffer, oil exploration will be subject to international litigation, and hostility of Ukrainians and others towards Russia will increase.

This is the actual summary of what was said, which is likely more boring than the fear-mongering and hate-inciting article above.  I highly encourage you to read the transcript yourself

Speaking of Ron Paul, here is what his son has to say:

“Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is a gross violation of that nation’s sovereignty and an affront to the international community,” he wrote. “His continuing occupation of Ukraine is completely unacceptable, and Russia’s president should be isolated for his actions.”

To bring religion into it, it's not about just white people, but people in general. One must look into the Old Testament to understand who he really works for, for which even he may not realize or care since he's so well fed. I'd take a guess that if he's not one of them, he's despised just as much as the others, but merely a useful tool.

Ethnic Drilling or Cleansing Shale (July 6, 2014)

In late Jan 2013, when Yanukovych still was in power, the Ukrainian government and Royal Dutch Shell inked the country’s first major shale gas 50-year profit-sharing agreement. Shell plans to develop the Yuzov field in the Donetsk and Kharkov regions. In Jun 2014, the company confirmed its intention to go on with the agreement as soon as the conflict gets de-escalated and the situation stabilizes. The information about the deal is classified. The Ukrainian government allegedly cannot refuse the extension of its term.

The territory to be explored is 7886 sq km, including Slavyansk (situated right in the heart of deposit), Izium, a major part of Kramatorsk and a large number of smaller populated areas like, for instance, Krasny Liman, Seversk, Yasnogorsk, Kamyshevka etc.

In accordance with article 37.2 of the agreement, the local residents have to sell their land and property. In case of refusal they are to be coerced to do it to serve the Shell’s interests. The company’s expenditure is to be compensated by Ukraine at the expense of produced gas. The government takes on responsibility for finding a solution to all the problems with local authorities...

The Israeli Pole Brzezinski uses Americans and American Taxes as Israeli's personal slush fund of money and arms. He has seen fit to avoid getting anywhere near a battle field, trusting in young patriot American boys to do his bidding.

Congress fancies that they are the deciders of Russian and Ukrainian relations and ultimate fate. Turning Ukraine into NATO front line state is a dream come true. What causes them lack of sleep is the large number of ethnic Russians and the large number of inter-ethnic families in Russia and Ukraine. Something like 6-7 million Ukrainians have gone to Russia to seek work, they now live and work inside the Russian Federation without any problems. But Ukraine has different plans for it's ethnic Russians.

The bottom line of this problem is the minority of Ukrainians who are Galicia Ukrainians from the far west. Religious, political and ethnic western Ukrainians have developed a hot bed of fascism and nazism. These are who America and NATO backed, funded and are now arming. These are who Washington put into power in a coup of violent nature. The ballot box did not put them there, USA money and paramilitary training in Poland and Lithuania did. To further it's expansion goals NATO and the USA are fully backing this fascist anti Russian group from the west and Galicia. The people of the east refused to accept the violent American coup in Kiev. Why should they not arm and fight the Kiev Nazis whom America declares and demands be the government of all Ukraine, no matter the votes were never counted or even cast, the violence fed with US money created the Kiev Nazis and now they are doing waht Nazis do, invade, attack and kill. America's neocon criminals support and fund it all. We average Americans are lied to via media.

Given how this has all played out, one can't help but hope that every day brings Killed in Action lists for the Kiev nazis, the longer the better. Anyone who supports Nazism in the 21st century is a fool. That would be "Emperor of Planet Earth" Obama.

Jack is basically correct.  While it's easy to toss around the word "Nazi", the right wing in Ukraine still uses insignia identical to those used by the Waffen-SS (sorry, my keyboard doesn't do the lightening bolt symbol), and has publicly displayed large portraits of Der Fuehrer himself.  These people ARE neo-Nazis, though I expect that the imagery will ultimately be toned down and eliminated to enhance their PR.

I used to have considerable sympathy for independence-mined Ukrainians, as their forefathers suffered greatly under the Soviet State. Over the last year, however, the Ukrainian Right Sektor et al have shown themselves to be every bit as vicious and oppressive as any Soviet commissar.  You don't avenge wrongs inflicted 60 to 90 years ago by shelling apartment buildings and using Willie Pete on civilians. Actually, I'm wrong about that last bit;  if you are the Kiev junta, that's exactly what you do.

Jack often offers unique perspectives from knowledge of  history and should be taken seriously.  So does Breziinski but with an agenda of bringing back Poland to the center of Eastern Europe as detailed in his writings and Polish royal heritage.  The question is can we come to some form of accomidation in Ukraine by Superpowers as we have done with nuclear weapons proliferation or will the territorial, religeous ,cultural differences and outside interests cause a major confrontation.  The stakes from a strategic, resource, and economic standpoint are enormous and can easily escilate into a regional military confrontation making Iraq look like childsplay.  Neocons may have bitten off more than they can chew at a time when America is overextended at home and in Middle East.  So far,  it has been a chess game primarily in the economic sphere of warfare where the US has an advantage. Longer term Russia has an energy advatage in Europe, as well as military advantage if we awaken a sleeping Bear from hibernation content with holding on to Crimea. This winter will be interesting for the poor people of Ukraine.

You Pro-Russian guys are missing the big picture. Look at the trends. If Putin sees himself as a global player, he needs a posse. Arriving at a global geopolitical event without an entourage is no way to build influence.

First, the oligarchs backing the separatists are not Putin's oligarchs. Therefore, if they are lost, who cares. I expect Putin and Merkel arrived at an understanding for a cease-fire that was communicated to Poroshenko. He took the unilateral cease-fire action because he thought he had an understanding with Russia. The oligarchs who were running the separatists decided that Putin's deal was not good enough. They decided to up the ante, thinking the Russian people would allow them to push Putin around. Suddenly, Putin had no friends in the Ukrainian separatist organization.

Bad move on the oligarchs' part.

Putin now had his pretext to show independent thought and political alignment with Germany. The end result is Poroshenko got the green light to light up the separatists. That green light meant Russia was washing their hands of the Ukrainian oligarchs. Those same oligarchs thought they were playing poker, only to find they were playing "Go Fish".

Poroshenko now has a "free hand" to show the world how to mend Ukraine. I suspect he will do the right and honorable thing. That is good business. The future of the Ukraine is "good business".

I think the interesting thing is that Russia and Germany can work together to solve geopolitical problems that the United States can't. The next stop is the Middle East. I expect the "liver eaters" are about to be touched by the velvet gloved Iron Fist. I expect we will see a rivalry between the USA/UK military complex battling it out with the German/Russian military complex over who can provide tech support that results in liver eaters' body temperatures dropping to the levels of their IQs.

All in all, this is a win-win for everyone.

I guess the big question on everyone's mind is whether or not Russia will involve themselves in the coming battle for Donetsk, a large city. Putin made a statement before the battles began that Russia would not allow attacks on ethnic Russian cities. He claimed a right to protect ethnic Russian Ukrainian citizens. Since then he has done nothing at all as Kiev went from a few mortar rounds, to artillery, and then on to rocket barrages. At present Kiev used hundreds of heavy artillery pieces, all manner of heavy mortars, several different rocket barrage systems and air strikes using bombs and rockets, these are used 'en mass as of late. Putin has done nothing except ask his Parliament to take away The Russian right to intervene passed into law at the beginning of the crisis is dead. He asked Donetsk and other cities not to vote on speraration, he has asked Ukraine the EU and others to come and help close the borders between Russia and Ukraine. He has negotiated cease fires with the EU and Ukriane that allow Ukraine to keep firing while he has asked the Self Defense Forces not to fire back. This in itself seems to paint a picture of a Putin doing all he can to please NATO and America. He has even continued shipping arms, tanks and heavy weapons from Crimea to Kiev's troops, a repatriation of Kiev's arms still in Crimea after it's joining Russia. This he finally ordered stopped a day ago.

Pressure inside Russia is extreme, as they see the videos coming out of Ukraine that CNN and BBC somehow fail to pick up. But, he still does nothing, silence mostly, and attempts to beg NATO and the EU to talk Kiev into a cease fire.

Already today Kiev has opened heavy artillery and air strikes on the outskirts of Donetsk. The Self Defense Forces are still totally intact and regrouped and heavily reinforced by other troops who were not on the recent battle fields. One can expect the launching of mass artillery and rocket barrages on Donestsk for months. But winter will come and with it economic crisis in Ukraine. Some suspect this is what Putin is doing, playing for time till winter. He is not giving America the gift of a Russian army invasion of East Ukraine.

Two things, if the SDF can hold out till winter, things get ugly for Kiev. If Kiev goes all in to flatten a city of a million people, as they well might do because time is not on their side, then if Putin does nothing, the Russian public opinion will turn hard against him.

Perhaps a deal was made with him where the Euros would not complain or sanction him over Crimea.  What I dont get is that the Euros are stealing the entire Ukraine, at least Crimea was majority Russian. But there may not be much Russia can do, it needs EU as a trading partner.  I think you are right he didn't want Eastern Ukraine going solo but they got caught up in the fervor of independence when they saw Crimea, now they are alone to an extent, Putin will not officially go in but his hand is forced by the Russian people and he has to allow volunteers and small arms aid.  I feel sorry for the East Ukrainians

He doesn't have a move right now, Jack.  Anything he does invites more sanctions from the McInsane types, and a military incursion in Ukraine would result in massive sanctions and a possible NATO military response... plus more new trouble in Chechnya/Dagestan, plus the sudden appearance of 'protests'.

He may try to go to the UN - I will say that if it really gets uglier, and no doubt American mercs and CIA are there... he may have to do something.

If I were him, though, I'd focus on crippling the putsch regime in Kiev, not in the East.

In any event, I am once again fascinated by the coordinated media silence.  The MSM appears to me, any canards and old chestnuts aside, pretty controlled and coordinated.  Sometimes groupthink can explain why every network and paper covers something, but the timing and language and sheer lockstep coordination...  I mean, what if the CIA/NSA really is basically acting as super-editor at every major news source?

There's basically no renegade journalists out there - Hersh had to publish his piece about the Syrian chemical weapons false flag in Britain, which is very controlled, but still manages to be able to be more critical sometimes.

Putin has been playing defense and yet he is vilified daily by congress critters and MSM journalists.  I tend to think that if he wants to repond militarily, he'd need China to go along with it, at least in a sense.  China must know what's up and may be willing to dump its treasuries.

This won't happen - but just imagine Russia giving up parts of Siberia/Far East in achange for, say, a million red chinese troops...

Sometimes the best offense is a good defense.  At this point, if I'm Putin, maybe I put giving Iran a nuke and delivery system on the table, and park some nuclear subs in the Eastern Med.

What he can't do is let ZATO dictate the terms.. he won't.

Pretty fucked up.  I admire Putin far, far more than I do my own government, which I think has been hijacked by foreign and banking interests.  At least he, while a thug and a crook, is a nationalist and disgorged a lot of the wealth of the mostly Jewish oligarchs [they were - why was that, exactly?] to the benefit of the Russian people.

The fact the MSM media is radio silent on the violence in Ukraine, where it was so concerned with a few dead protesters a few months ago...  I mean, the media is controlled.  The question is by which agencies/groups.

I think we get WW3 unless some sort of revolt happens amongst the spooks and the generals.   I'm hoping The Brotherhood is real.

Burton, Duffy and others,

Everyone's worried about whether Putin is betraying the Novorussia,

Instead of fantasizing about what Putin could do, like this was some kind of a game of Risk, let's reread the clear public statement of Putin's actual strategy, reported on ZH less than three weeks ago:

Putin Advisor Proposes "Anti-Dollar Alliance" To Halt US Aggression Abroad

Then consider how fast the revolt against the dollar is proceeding.

Just since May 18 we've seen huge China Russia deals, Russia Iran deals and China GErmany deals without dollars,China announcing a dollarless multinational Asian Investment Bank ($400 billion equivalent capitalization?), a $100 billion BRICS investment bank, Saudi and other Arabian countires talking pricing oil in other currencies, the German antiFed movement, Germany arresting US spies, proceeding with Russia contracts.  Austria challenging US on SouthStream gas.  Treasonous talk from Poland.  The French moves on the warship sales and sanctions.

Today an article in the MSM: NATO expansion stopped because they can't get unanamous votes anymore.

And then today this "triple whammy":

France Assures Push Against Petrodollar Is Not A "Fight Against Dollar Imperialism"

As for the Ukranian anti-fascists, what is happening is truly horrible but the defenders of Slaviansk stood up to everything the Ukraine so-called government could throw at them for three weeks and then retreated in order.  They are surviving, learning how to fight, face death and kill and exacting a terrible toll, and unit by unit the Ukie army is disintegrating.

The ability of Putin to hold steady against all the growing rage he must feel and the mounting political pressure on him to take NATO's gambit and strike back at the Ukraine usurpers is phenomenal.  It really is the stuff of legend.  By not acting, he takes personal responsibility (and for now, blame) for thousands, tens of thousands of deaths.  But he's winning the war.

I truly didn't know what to expect from Putin, and I still watch in fear that he must be a captive of Russia's kleptocrats, that he must eventually sell out.  But when I remember what's at stake, and I watch his play with some detachment, I stand in awe before the master.

Very disturbing question raised by a post in Vineyard Saker

The German government is acting on it´s own accord as an accomplice, not a vassal of US strategy

Raises very disturbing questions about who it is that's really supporting the NAZI revival in Ukraine, questionning Putin's strategy of pushing a break between Germany and the US and more.

There's a lot here to talk about.  But the most basic thing is that that's not the heart of Putin's strategy.  Whoever is running Germany, they have to deal with the collapse of the dollar, the tension between the big banks (Anglo-American controlled) and the masters of the national economy, the specter of disaster if Russian gas is cut off, and perhaps the problem of continuing occupation of their country by US Troops.  Just my 2c on this.

This posting was made by a german woman, who is a sheep in the highest order.

There is one thing you have to know about German/US relationship, and only one:

US says "bend over", Germany bends over. (How many military installations does Germany have in the US again?).

If Merkel is the driver, how come Viky Kagan/Nudelman is handing out cookies? Just a gig on the side, or what?

End of story. No need for >2000 words to show ignorance of that fact.

Rome didn't fall in a day. Merkel's days in the chair are numbered.

Armchair critics are bitching because Putin hasn't responded in a predictable fashion like some American football player. He seems genuinely intelligent and diligent, defying conventional expectations and hurting the credibility of western academics whose strategy white papers were probably hacked, reviewed and tossed years ago, one great weakness probably being hesitation to address politically unpalatable and career-limiting realities. (Honest climate scientists can relate.)  Regardless of how we feel regarding perceived Russian forbearance in the short term, Putin's focus seems to be longer-term, for which his best strategy is to sit tight, be seen not to interfere, and give the Eurasian public all the time they need to witness more atrocities and realise how horrible things are apt to become in the unchecked hands of power-grabbing psychopaths. Pity the decent people. Theirs is a history of exploitation.

Edit: See great BRICSA posts below. Is this what Lagarde was talking about, with her puerile numerology banter?

I wish most other people would have read more of my posts as I have always said and supported Russia staying away from the trap NATO has laid in Ukraine. The US and NATO desire Russia to do a full on military invasion. Putin should not take that bait.

When I get angry at Putin is is because he should be playing just like America does. He should be flooding the very best of Russian arms into the Self Defense Force's hand, and when the USA and NATO confront him about it, he should just deny it. This is how America operates, they do as they please and when confornted they simply deny, deny, deny. The SDF can fight better and harder than the Ukie army, Putin needs to supply them. He should though, never make it too open and obvious and he should never get sucked into the invasion trap.

My posts have always been clear I do not support a Russian crossing of the border with military force.

Point taken. You must also grant that proxy war has been underway on multiple fronts for many years.  Moral High Ground (wiki):

"21st Century states may refrain from declaring war in order to retain the moral high ground – though the cynic will observe that realpolitik still leads to wars being fought, only without declarations."

I'll repost this verbatim except with this to add. I don't believe Putin will let Kiev march in bombs, rockets and all into Donetsk. He won't let 'em do it - wait for the BRICSA Summit in 2 weeks.

Just wait till you have Russia giving an ultimatum to Kiev with the backing of China, India, South Africa & Brazil (If Putin can get it - it's a real test of his diplomatic mettle really). The worse things get in the next 2 weeks in Donetsk the better they are for Putin to win over the other BRICSA in Fortaleza... Do they have the stomach for a fight?

Reposted below.

For those of you watching developments in Ukraine - as I am - I'll let you in on what might well be going on.

It might well be that the retreat from Slovayansk was in fact ordered from - Moscow. By Putin himself.

But why?

To (some extent anyway) allow the Western journalists to enter Slovayansk and report on some of the atrocities and destruction of the city - who performed all this destruction? The Kievan junta obviously.

And who is the desired audience? Western Europe and it's key leaders - Merkel & Hollande and the populations of their respective nations - but more importantly - the prime audience is the BRICS leadership. In particular China & Xi Jinping of course.

But why now? Well, for one the World Cup hosted by his Brazilian mates is almost up - just a week to go. For those wondering why Putin has stood by in a military sense for the past month - there's your answer.

It would be highly inappropriate and in fact down right rude to kick off what could turn into World War III while some of your best mates (Brazil) are holding their "Coming Out" Party. We all know of course that the West extended nothing of this sort of courtesy to Russia by instigating the February coup in Ukraine while Putin was himself constrained to react forcefully by the Russian hosting of the Winter Olympics down the road from the Donbass in Sochi.

But apart from the World Cup, why else order an evacuation from Slovayansk now?

Because - BRICSA Summit in Fortaleza - July 15-17, 2014. Also in Brazil.

Isn't this interesting. What better chance to demonstrate to his BRICSA allies that they need to stand together and stand up to the Western Imperialism as represented and carried out by the Kievan forces than the utter destruction of Slovayansk to point to to persuade them that they must stand with and support Russia in this time of need.

I would look for a joint communique announcement and ultimatum to be delivered at the BRICSA Summit to Ukraine to cease and desist from all offensive operations in Eastern Ukraine within 48-72 hours lest Russia be forced to intervene to protect the peace and security within Eastern Ukraine.

This statement will be fully supported by China - or else it will not be made. If there is no such announcement you can be convinced China has yet to make up its mind on Russia/ The West. No doubt Putin would love to be able to make such a statement / ultimatum after the pretext of the destruction of Slovayansk with the full support of China.

In Summary - don't pay too much attention to anything that happens over the next 2 weeks. It will all be theatre. Wait for the end of the BRICSA Summit and see if these leaders can stand together and stand up to the West. Can they? I'm not sure.

Russia may be waiting for the conclusion of the BRICS summit in the 3rd week of this month, to begin any military action in Donbas. It would be highly embarassing for the others in BRICS to sign agreements of far reaching consequences with Russia while Russia is embroiled in a controversy over a military involvement in a neighbour's territory. Once the BRICS bank is launched as is expected to be in this summit, any Western sanctions against Russia in response to its intervention in Ukraine will directly lead to Russia abandoning Western currencies in favour of the BRICS currency, to be introduced at the summit, beginning the inevitable global move away from Western currencies and their collapse.

hey kosmonot, have you ever been outside Russia?  If Americans are "slaves" why do all the ruskies run as fast as they can to UK, US, or Cyprus, as soon as they get their hands on that oligarchilicious moolah they steal from the people of Russia?

Be assured, as much as people hate the U.S. here, they hate your Ruski fascist regime 10x more.  Not the Russian people, but the fascists who continue to keep you under virtual house arrest.  They use hatred to control the people, a simple approach.  A good war is always the best theatre to keep people's minds of the shitty conditions at home.  Makes Russians feel relevant again.

Its OK though, if you've never been outside the prison, you might have no clue about the relative conditions you're actually living in.;  And anyway, with your cushy government writing job in St. P, you might be pretty well off.
