Israel Is Bombing Gaza Back to the Stone Age to Get Hamas ... But ISIS – NOT HAMAS – Claims Credit for Attacks Against Israel

George Washington's picture

Israel is currently bombing Gaza back to the stone age (MSM spin notwithstanding).

While Israel claims that Hamas was behind the murder of 3 Israeli boys which started this round of violence (and subsequent rocket attacks), the Times of Israel reported last week:

A new Palestinian jihadist group pledging allegiance to the Islamic State (formerly known as ISIL) [or "ISIS"] has claimed responsibility for the killing of three Israeli teenagers last month in the West Bank, as well as other recent deadly attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians.

Hamas has denied responsibility for the attacks.

The New York Times also reported on Wednesday:

On Tuesday evening, Israel’s antimissile system, called Iron Dome, intercepted a rocket “over the Tel Aviv area,” the army said, showing the reach of Gazan rocketry. The rocket was believed to be of Iranian design, a Fajr-5, and Islamic Jihad claimed credit. Tel Aviv opened some public shelters, and in a city near Tel Aviv, Rishon LeZion, people were instructed to leave the beach.

Given that countries all over the world – including Israel and Muslim countries – have admitted to carrying out false flag attacks, we should carefully investigate who was responsible before cheering on a new Arab-Israeli war. (And the head of Mossad had predicted such an occurrence shortly before it happened.)

Palestine has gained a lot of support recently.  For example, Palestine was accorded observer nation status by the United Nations.  The movement to boycott and divest from companies doing business with Israel has gathered tremendous momentum. And the two main factions in Palestinian politics – Hamas and Fatah – have formed a unity government.

As Michael Rivero points out, it makes no sense for Hamas to have committed brutal acts of violence right now, when it is securing quick progress through peaceful political means:

HAMAS and FATAH formed a unity government. They need the support of the world right now, and neither HAMAS or FATAH is going to carry out an act that would wreck the very public support they need. It’s like George Washington trying to kick out the British by shooting students in the colonial schools; it is just not going to happen.

And the Jewish Daily Forward notes that – if rogue Hamas members did carry out the murders – it was not with the permission or knowledge of Hamas leadership:

In the flood of angry words that poured out of Israel and Gaza during a week of spiraling violence, few statements were more blunt, or more telling, than this throwaway line by the chief spokesman of the Israeli military, Brigadier General Moti Almoz, speaking July 8 on Army Radio’s morning show: “We have been instructed by the political echelon to hit Hamas hard.”

That’s unusual language for a military mouthpiece. Typically they spout lines like “We will take all necessary actions” or “The state of Israel will defend its citizens.” You don’t expect to hear: “This is the politicians’ idea. They’re making us do it.”

***

It was clear from the beginning that the kidnappers weren’t acting on orders from Hamas leadership in Gaza or Damascus. Hamas’ Hebron branch — more a crime family than a clandestine organization — had a history of acting without the leaders’ knowledge, sometimes against their interests. Yet Netanyahu repeatedly insisted Hamas was responsible for the crime and would pay for it.

Put your phone number on the net somewhere and within 2 days a small army of helpful indians named Randy will call and offer to help diagnose the problems they see on your MSFT pc.. All they need is to gain access to your pc and all your MSFT problems are solved. All for 79 USD. Like magic!

At least that is what the Randys told me. They had me going all the way up to the point I told them I only ran linux. For some reason at that point they lost interest.

Hitch-hiking is a risky idea these days in the west. I wonder what compelled the students to do it? Is it common over there?

hitchhiking is very common in israel. i saw a lot of hitchhikers on the highway when i visited earlier this year, mostly younger folk, i assume they couldn't afford cars, which are very expensive there. i even saw arab women hitchhiking near jerusalem, which was surprising to me.

Israel has been claiming that the Iranians are providing Hamas with the M-302 rocket (100-200 km range / 175Kg warhead) like those it conveniently intercepted under an Iranian load of cement (below) en route to Sudan for trans-shipment through Egypt and into Gaza through smugglers tunnels. Quite an amazing (if not impossible) undertaking considering the size of the rocket.

http://www.armamentresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Khaibar-1-roc...

Hamas on the other hand says it is building its own M-75 rockets based on the Iranian Fajr-5 design which is even larger than the M-302. (Idiots if they are)

All rockets are depicted here to give you an idea (but the source does not provide a length for the Iranian M-302 for some reason and underestimates the length of the Fajr-5 by 3.5 metre):

http://english.al-akhbar.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/5cols/leadin...

"The M-75 is described as a rocket with a 75 kilometer range. Oddly enough Iran has a rocket that fits that description, the Fajr-5. Iran insists it has not smuggled this long range rocket into Gaza and its sheer size indicates why. Fajr-5 is a 10 meter (31 feet) long, 333mm (13 inches) diameter, .9 ton rocket with a range of 75 kilometers. It could reach Tel Aviv and most of central Israel. But the Fajr-5 is as big as a telephone pole and is based on a similar 302mm Chinese rocket that Iran bought in the 1990s and now produces as the Fajr-5."

https://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htweap/20130715.aspx

It is unfortunate that Hamas has either built or imported Iranian rockets (can't see Iran being that stupid) to be used against Israel. They stand to lose all moral high ground they have built up over the years plus all these rockets are entirely incapable of hitting any clearly defined Israeli military target. They are pimarily political weapons of terror.

Israel on the other hand will do just about anything (including pounding the Gaza hornet nest) to get its war with Iran started.

Don't like this one bit...

"It is unfortunate ..."

yeah, you might say that.

"... lose all moral high ground they have built up ..."

Good one, skippy.  The moral high ground they have built up by NOT launching pointless missiles in random directions against their neighbor who has 1000x their military power.

I'd put the question differently - WTF are they thinking?  The Palestinians have developed stupidity to a level almost unknown in human history.  The Israelis put it with it year after year, stupidity in the form of vicious but incompetent aggression against them.

The Palestinians could have peace and prosperity any time they want it by stopping these idiotic and ineffective attacks.  But they chose, again and again, to continue as they were only moreso.  It just completely beggars the imagination.

There is a big difference between these two statements:

1. Would like to destroy Iran's nuclear weapons capability;

2. Would like to engage in war with Iran.

I realize that (1) could and most likely would lead to (2).  But Israel has done surgical strikes in the past that did not result in war.

I think most evidence shows that Bibi is focused on (1), not on (2).

IRAN DOES NOT HAVE TO HAVE NUKES AND YOU KNOW IT. BECAUSE......

IRAN POSES A HUGE THREAT TO THE UNITED STATES PETRODOLLAR EMPIRE. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ISRAEL. THE PETRO DOLLAR IS A MAJOR ISSUE, AND THE LONGER IRAN SELLS ITS OIL IN NON-USD THE SOONER THE U.S. EMPIRE FALLS. AS THE PETRO DOLLAR FALLS FROM GRACE, YOU SIMPLY GET A MUCH MUCH DEVALUED INTERNTIONAL U.S.D. YOU CANNOT BUY OIL CHEAPLY WITH IT, AND YOU CANNOT RUN AN EMPIRE SO WELL WITH IT, ESPECIALLY WHEN OTHER NATIONS START PREFERRRING ALTERNATIVE CURRENCIES.

THE U.S. IS RUNNING AN EMPIRE. AND YOU WANT TO BLAME ISRAEL FOR THIS POLICY.

THE U.S. ENTERED WORLD WAR 1 AND 2 BEFORE ISRAEL EXISTED. AND IT WOULD START WW3 EVEN IF ISRAEL DIDN'T EXIST. ISRAEL IS A FART IN THE WIND COMPARED TO MAJOR SUPERPOWERS.

IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE CALCULUS OF EMPIRE SHUT YOUR PSEUDO-DISSIDENT MOUTH ALREADY YOU KNOW IT ALL. YOU KNOW THE U.S. IS RUNNING AN EMPIRE, AND YET, YOU REFUSE TO ACKNOLWEDGE THAT CONTROL OVER OIL IS THE NAME OF THE GAME , WHY?

BECAUSE ISRAEL HAS SO MUCH OIL? NO OF COURSE NOT, IT HAS NONE. ( at least recently it discovered natural gas but that's another matter)

TO BLAME ISRAEL FOR THE PETRODOLLAR?    YOU ARE A COWARD AND REFUSE TO BLAME YOUR OWN JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF AND EXXON AND MOBILE FOR DIRECTING U.S. POTRODOLLAR HEGEMONY.

Lobbing high explosives at active nuclear facilities is not "surgical", it's INSANE.

Aren't there enough nut jobs already trying that maneuver this week to clearly demonstrate the rather twisted and psychopathic definition one must have of "success" in order to view that as a viable solution?

Is that what CNN told you, HerrDoktor?

What sort of terrorist missile launches - supposedly 200 plus - miss every single time? Did CNN explain that to you yet? Did they even mention it? Does that sound like the act of a comically poor-aiming Hamas, or the false flag actions of Nettanyahu's Stasi?

Iron Dome is lucky to knock down 5% of those mysteriously inaccurate missiles, so the $1.1 billion U.S. taxpayers forked over for that was a waste (whatever wasn't outright stolen by middlemen and politicians).

Israel steals $3.1 billion U.S. taxpayer dollars every year with the help of a criminally treasonist U.S. congress for F-16s and laser-guided bombs. The only people they were ever used on were Palistinian civilians.

I'll stand corrected and take both your word and CNN's word for it, MeMadMax.

All you have to do is convince me that either of you have more qualifications than a Raytheon Integrated Defense System's engineer, and have spent more time analyzing intercept detail then he has. Knocking a rocket slightly off its terminal trajectory without affecting the fuze or warhead is assinine unless you magically know the warhead is incapable of causing any damage.

The bogus Iron Dome is either a money-stealing scam or a bad attempt at PR for a non-protective, ineffective shield. It has never saved anybody because nobody is dying from these false-flag missile attacks.

If 1) Hamas was actually firing the rockets 2) into a densely-populated area 3) in any reasonably aimed manner, 4) in an attempt to injure or kill Israelis, then SOME Israeli citizens would be injured or killed in the last 300 (I had the last number wrong) attempts. This is just preposterous. Random chance suggests there would have been more Israeli casualties just from falling missile parts from 300 missiles.

I'm tired of these repeated, bloodless missile attacks used as a lame-ass excuse for Nettanyahu's reverse-victim IDF cowards to execute Palestinian civilians a few dozen at a time.
