May the victims of this tragedy caused by human folly, rest in peace...

"With infinite complacency men went to and fro over this globe about their little affairs, serene in their assurance of their empire over matter."--HG Wells

Can't you see it? They are tyring to drag Europe into this war! Mostly Europeans on board of the plane, now the outrage and sentiment will be Anti-Russian (it is waaaaay to easy to blame the Separatists/Russia on this one).

Germany was already getting "out of line" in regards to USA.  With the new BRICS Bank as serious competition for the IMF and Germany kicking out a US spy (and everything else that we don't know, this only being the tip of the iceberg) there was a serious possibility that Europe (Germany) would join the BRICS Party.

Guess someone at CIA/Pentagon thought that collateral damage is OK as long as they "save Europe" from the "Commies" (same story, just other protagonists).

There you have it.  Short and to the point.  Now I hope that I don't end up in a ditch or in Guantanamo.

Yes, that unfortunate statistic concerning Northern Europeans on board did catch my attention.

Things won't get serious unless terrorists attack a golf course that Obama is playing on.

no prob with that, with the enlarged holes after the attack, it's easier to get a Hole in One. Or at least a Birdie.

I'm not sure -- it could be. I really think at the end of the day it was a terrible accident(overreaction by the SAM ground control) that TPTB are trying to sculp into something more. They don't seem to have control over the narrative yet so only time will tell.

Honestly, I think this Gaza strip incursion is going to boomerang and people are going to be flat-footed trying to deal with the repercussions. You have to figure ISIS will seize the day on this one and then whoa Nelly.

yes

I'm serious. there are "Franz Ferdinand Moments" every frigging year. the latin name for them is "casus belli", roughly reasons for war

only... you also need the bastards grabbing the reasons and forcing nations to go to war. sometimes claiming WMDs, or divine guidance, or whatever

to this, note the little note that Master William inserted in the picture, in the bottom right: the sinking of the Lusitania, which was the United States' casus belli

so the question is... is it the right FFM? and the answer is... WTF? why should it?

Sadly for the filth pushing for war a lot of us understand the MO now.  Unfortunately for those of who are awake our "representation" in DC is anything but.  I've sent several letters to Sen's Begich and Murkowski and Rep. D Young and I got a canned response from each of them about blah blah democracy, blah, blah Russia, blah blah, terrorists blah blah blah.  They know we the people do not believe anything that comes from their mouths but someone showed them their file aka how the deep state will ruin their lives if they don't follow the company line.  The more people wake up (and they will) the less these bastards will be able to get away with.  Their clock is ticking.

One of We, dude that is exactly the same letter format I got from my numbskull congressman.  What the heck is going on here.  Its like they go to Congress and become aliens or someting.  Some kind of mind ray.  Either that or they get payed off really well with our tax money.

Democracy is but a sham in the USA, kleptocracy is the norm.  When in one of the world's largest countries, a land every inch of it governed by a Constitution of the United States, one can only exercise their constitutional rights of free speech and demonstrate in a 10 meter by 10 meter square area (as in the Bundy Ranch situation a few weeks back where attack dogs surrounded the protestors) we know that we have reached the end especially when our rights are taken away by an insulting piece of legislature called 'The Patriot Act'

I watched the ABC coverage as the story developed. I watched them litterally, one interview at a time, CREATE the narrative of the story. One homosexual ex-cia is being interviewed by a CFR member and their both interviewing several "ex" generals. One former government shill is red faced and embarrassed about the lies coming out of his mouth. You can see the attempts all around of them trying to keep straight faces as they use their best "announcer voices" but denial or no, balanced language, or no, the whole storyline is internally consistent leading to the implication... they're saying russian supplied BUK missles, SA-10's did it. Sure, but were they supplied before or after the CIA initiated civil war for the purpose of drawing in Russia, revenge for the failed coup in Georgia, earlier? Either way, the Russian made missle system came from Russia, that's where it was MADE! It all reeked of a Rumsfieldian Twisted News Conference.

What if they "win" the public opinion? What if the disimformation campaign works? These idiots haven't thought that far ahead. They're still pushing the imaginary ball down the imaginary field, at the imaginary football game.

The U.S. Government is way out of line. Surely there is some way these idiots can back down, de-escalate, reverse course, stop.  Save the good money after bad. Don't kill one more person there. Pack it up. Stop. Forget it. Who cares whose face your saving? Nuclear war risk? Really? Assholes!

Thanks kurt,

Sometimes I think I'm alone with the same thoughts you artfully put on paper. Bottom line, our government is way out of line, at least for the past 15 years.

The military industry, (that's what the pentagon is), has plans in holding that would probably shock most. Then again, maybe not.

Watching the false narrative on ABC? +1, but that's pretty masochistic, kurt. I can't stomach parsing any of the network feeds without a stiff dose of heroin, drain cleaner and animal tranquilizers.

It's more interesting watching what they don't want you to see:

There is no sales pitch being made. We're all being "put to sleep" (literally?). I find the coverage of the disappearance of the other trip 7 interesting...as if foretelling the shooting down of this one.

These folks never had a chance...so certainly there is mourning and grief, but all of us are just pawns on this chess table. "The computer is moving the pieces." A tour of the battleship Missouri is instructive. "Those guns are fired manually."

We live in an "over the horizon world" now. How de we know something as "happening" if we cannot hear it, feel it, touch it...even see it?

Only "through the medium" is our world defined. (Marshal McLuhan.)

And by definition "it" (meaning "we" or "is in the world") is defined for us.

So indeed "words cannot express our sorrow." And yet we don't even know if we should be sad. What if we should be mad (angry) instead?

In the end "we simply don't know" but instead are left with our "feelings" and "intuitions."

This is why the tanks roll in. "We gotzed to know."

So one nation defends it sovereignty ("Ukraine"...legitimately in my view)...but another nation ("Russia") is demonized for defending her interests. Who are we to be the judge...of anything? Even..."the sorrow"? That is very easy to manipulate.

So yet again we whistle past the graveyard...not oblivious to the consequences just simply mindful that someone will be paying the consequences of our misdeeds.

Think of it as "leveling up" (interesting computer game technology) 2008...only this time with State Actors and no longer "mere banks" etc.

The history of war is a is also a chronicle of getting as far away as you can from your enemy and still being able to do a lot of damage.  Have we reached the "Oklahoma" moment? -- How far is Missouri from Yemen?

"...They've gone about as fur as they can go..." -- "Kansas City"

War hasn't changed in ten thousand years and won't change for the next ten thousand. "Plan for Victory....element of surprise."

Billy Jack War is surprising (I'm gonna stick his boot upside your head.). This President and this Administration is talking the talk, but clearly they have zero fight.

That's not true of the Russians.

I think it is safe to ignore "the powerless" who speak in terms of America but not in terms of America actually doing anything. Simply put "we haven't closed the deal" here on being taken seriously.

Being a student of history is just the beginning. "You have to act in the present too." False constructs of reality that everyone know to be false...and worse still connote WEAKNESS (legalisms in a world without any) make enforcing "normative forms of behavior" beyond challenging.

The USA finds herself opposed on many fronts here. Being chastened is one thing...being weak is quite another.

Someone needs to start pulling the trigger here. Not going into Syria is looking like a collosal blunder...but all this economic mularkey just isn't working.

Sometimes you have to get "in your facie."

Interesting comment, though Billy Jack (RIP Tom Laughlin) used his bare feet if I recall ("I'm gonna put this right foot on that side of your head...").  My opinion about Syria (reinforced by a recent headline about jihadists in Syria stoning a woman to death for adultery) is that the mistake was Obama threatening to go in and subsequently supporting those same jihadists with cash and weaponry to fight against Assad (no prince among men but an enemy of jihad).

As far as distance goes, in-your-face is eventually necessary if conquering the enemy is the goal.  I guess I was thinking about the progression from stone axes to spears to slingshots to bow-and-arrow, to catapult, to blunderbuss to sniper rifle to rocket to ICBM and now drones which could be controlled even from the moon.

US policy doesn't always include victory.  Military deployment for its own sake seems to top the priority list.
