1 In 25 New Yorkers Is A Millionaire
New York "has the second largest millionaire and largest billionaire population of any global city," according to analysis by Spear's magazine, but as LA Times reports, walk down the streets of The Big Apple and 1 in every 25 New Yorkers you bump into is a millionaire. Here is someone to Pray for. RIP Mahmoud Al ‘Asali
http://vaticaninsider.lastampa.it/en/world-news/detail/articolo/iraq-ira...
Being worth one million dollar. Okay folks, here´s the truth. It´s really not that much anymore.
No shit, that is like one trip to the hospital with Obamacare!
Regards,
Cooter
In other news, 6 Billion people around the world are estimated to be Billionaires*
* measured by Zimbabwean curency
I was a NY millionaire for a few minutes after our IPO in the late 1990s, but then I realised I had a giant account payable to the Empire State that took me back into the realm of the merely rich. Really reinforced the concept of a NY minute.
Banksters could collect alot of 0's and 1's if the cities on that list would just "go away."
Mossad, are you listening?
we will all be millionaires with a few short years....
And you'll still be a nihilistic misanthropic pile of human fecal matter.
I am Chumbawamba.
Cowardly pussies attack me, not my posts.
hey, Stackers...keep on stackin'. Make that pile of shiny gear nice and high. You'll be there soon enough some day soon.
Silver's still on sale big time. Trade that worthless fiat in for real wealth preservation.
i went hunting in the wilderness in central idaho some years ago. we flew in with leased single engine planes and inflated our rafts and floated down the middlefork for ten days. along the way we fly fished for cutthroat trout with yellow humpies, watched eagles and osprey ply their wares, woke to the melancholy sound of loons. it was warm and the elk were all up in the hills. five days in we hiked up waterfall creek. me and one other with 30-6 and our back packs. half way up we encountered a flock of big horn sheep. they litterally walked up to us. we had bull tags and sheep were off limits. an hour later we saw a seven pointer cruising along the top of a knowel just out of reach. it was dusk and time to pitch camp. the place was redolent with the smell of elk in the rut. the bulls bugled all night. we bugled back. at the crack of dawn we headed up a well worn path and withing five minutes came upon fifty elk grazing in a clearing. the cows saw us but the bulls never looked up. we took two five pointers with several shots. it was my first time so i was all eyes and ears. we gutted the two and cut out the back straps and headed back down to the boats to get some help carrying the animals down. it took three trips down seven thousand feet. we finished at two in the morning under a translucent full moon which lit up the canyon. wolves, coyotes and owls all recording the events of the day. we slept soundly that night beside the river that ran through it....why do i mention this? i am not a millionaire. but i'm fucking rich bitch.
That's why I stopped drinking with Vegans. Their hunting stories lacked suspense.
If you cut a vegetable with a dull knife, you can hear a faint scream !!!
Ha! Shortly, you'll have to be a billionaire just to be able to afford to live in and pay NYC taxes!
Millionaires are now second-class citizens who have to struggle.
so you walked up to a family of Elks and shot 2 of them? So manly of you, can't you think of some other reason to enjoy a hike?
i tried eating soy and vegan food but i found that it made me have sexual urges for other men like yourself. instead of packing fudge i prefer wild game. "elk" is both singular and plural. an elk. the elk.
+1
A million dollars today buys enough gold to equal a few tens of thousands of 1933 dollars.
Some how, being a thousandaire just doesn't have the same ring to it.
monaco is 2.7 miles with a population of 37k which is equal in size to 2 manhattan blocks
Zurich and Geneva......go figure !
not if you live in nyc. move to montana or honduras etc and you'll do ok
For millionaire to have the same meaning as when the phrase was orginally coined, would probably put one in the 10 to 12 million dollar range, for starters...
10-12 million dollars doesn't cut it.
100 years ago a million dollars was 50,000 double eagles. The gold bullion value is about 65 million dollars.
The millionaires of old could live in mansions with 20+ staff, plus have a country retreat and own a few textile mills or other investments with change out of that million. Live like your putting on the Ritz.
Today just a decent (3 bedroom in OK area) apartment will cost over a million dollars in many cities and you need another million in investments just to pay the taxes and charges on your apartment.
Similar to the Nazi who saved tens of thousands of Chinese:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Rabe
Can't wait to see Spielberg's film on the subject!
BigJim,
Spielberg is not that stupid... and you got his name right
Which one? The completely and totally documented fake, "The Last Days?!"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80GgRWuXcO8
Note: The irony of Schindler's List is that it actually documents what the real deal with the Jews and the Nazis were: Theft and labor. Schindler is only able to save those on his list by showing an economic necessity for keeping and moving them.
new kchrisc, your said: "Jews and the Nazis: Theft and labor"
So did I get it right that you're saying: Jews stolen the Nazi [German] labor?
Then you said: "showing an economic necessity for keeping and moving them". Sorry, I don't understand.
Except of course Schindlers List won the 1982 Booker prize for fiction and it therefore it actually doesn't document anything. It's amazing how many people don't know this, having been deceived by the master fraudsters.
Muh Raf,
We all know about the propaganda machine. But thanks for the reminder.
Now, back to facts (history).
I did not know that. When I researched it in the 90s I felt confident that it was non-fiction, but then I read the book "Schindler's List" and not the original "Schindler's Ark."
Now that I know that the original book was a novel and a lot more things about the Ashkenazi, I am not so sure.
Either way, the movie highlights that the Nazis were primarily interested in taking the wealth and labor of their victims--it is ALWAYS about money and power--and that was my main point.
"People hate, governments use hate."
Kc, thanks for clarifying your statement for us.
"1 in every 25 New Yorkers you bump into is a millionaire."
How about the ones you don't bump into?
I knew when I left NYC I shoulda gone to Monaco. Now look at me, stuck in the Land of Fruits and Nuts on the Shining Sea of Everybody Else's' Money but Mine.
Well, at least is a big land... Or, you can always move back
I coerced Mr into taking me to Monaco on a business trip. Two drinks and a small appetizer was 150 euros at the Le Meridien Hotel. I damn near passed out. I pulled the waiter aside and asked how he could possibly afford living here. He smiled " oh, they bus us in". Never seen so many high end luxury cars in my life. Mercedes and BMWs are for the riffraff. There was a massive yacht for rent for 60,000 euros/day. We just had to pass that one up.
Didn't meet one Fruit or Nut. They must keep them locked up. Funny what big money can buy.
Miffed;-)
And to think I nearly passed out for paying six euro for a tiny cup of crappy coffee at the Paris airport. You folks done got taken to the cleaners.
At 150 Euros for a couple of drinks, my pass out point would be in the 2000 Euro zone...
Vacation in Monaco sounds nice.
Sooo, I swing by Achmed the Travel Agent's office on the way home and he's going on about this new principality they got set up over there, Calipfaty or sumpin. He's tossing brochures at me like molotov cocktails and I'm reading through one and its got everything I'm lookin for, sun, sand...wait, whats this...
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2014/07/groundhog-day-revisited.php
...so I get home and find a Reuters story about the place...and they're sayin (completely unfazed I might add)...
"The ultimatum by the Islamic State drove out the few hundred Christians who had stayed on when the group's hardline Sunni Muslim fighters overran Mosul a month ago, threatening Christians and the diverse city's other religious communities.
This week the Islamic State gave any remaining Christians a final choice to make by Saturday noon: convert to Islam, pay a religious tax, or face the sword."
http://news.yahoo.com/ancient-christian-population-mosul-flees-islamic-state-181327322.html
I'm not so sure about ole Achmed anymore, what do you guys think? ;-)
nmewn,
Not vacation... Business trip.
He was throwin in Maylasian Air tickets for free!
I don't think I can pass it up ;-)
nmewn,
I don't know the details... And I could care less about Monaco and fly Asian Airlines...Not that there is anything wrong with that!
Moving on!
Yeah, thanks for the pro-Zionist propaganda, nmewn. The difference between Isreal and ISIS is that we're not paying for ISIS' weapons and giving them aid.
Oh no, wait, hold on a minute...
Pro-Zionist...what, you got rocks in your fucking head or what?
Did you read the articles?
I read the first one, half of which is all about how poor little Israel should do whatever it takes to quell the Muslim peril (so they can hold onto their stolen land... oh no, wait, that bit went unmentioned)
Also going unmentioned is how Anglo-American Zionists sponsored ISIS through our OPEC satrapies to spread chaos throughout MENA a la Oded Yinon. But I guess that's just an irrelevant detail as far as you're concerned.
Its not irrelevant at all, who was one of the first to call bullshit on Benghazi? Who was one of the first to say "protesters" don't show up to "protest" a stupid video with RPG's? Who pointed out the Turkish ship?
You're barking up the wrong tree dude.
But without the hate in their heart, all the arms in the world mean nothing.
I'm afraid I wasn't keeping score on who debunked what when with regards to Benghazi.
+1 for "But without the hate in their heart, all the arms in the world mean nothing." though.
Unfortunately, there seems to be more than enough of that to go round.
Having said that... re: Jizya - the Christians were living in Mosul amongst the Mosulmen for 1200 years. So I'm afraid I don't buy the 'evil Muslim' thesis.
And let's not forget your heroes the Israelis' history of bloodshed in the region, and also how they've driven out the Arab Christians in large numbers since 1948; and have you never read the Torah? You think they were indigenous to Palestine? They're as keen on genocide as the Nazis were.. when it's them perpetrating it.
"I'm afraid I wasn't keeping score on who debunked what when with regards to Benghazi."
Its a direct correlation to ISIS(L), so you should have been. I don't lie to those I consider "infidels" either...that would be Taqiyya if you're playing along at home on your rug.
"Having said that... re: Jizya - the Christians were living in Mosul amongst the Mosulmen for 1200 years. So I'm afraid I don't buy the 'evil Muslim' thesis."
They're not now, unless they pay "tribute" to the caliphate state or convert to Islam or be killed. Thats what the Jizya is, an alliance of religion with the state and its what us "nutters" have been saying is wrong with these assholes for over a decade now.
So you support theocracies then?
Its a simple yes or no question BigJim.
"I'm afraid I wasn't keeping score on who debunked what when with regards to Benghazi."
Its a direct correlation to ISIS(L), so you should have been.
Paying attention to world events is one thing, keeping score of the various debunkings crafted by the tag-team of fellow nutcases here on ZH is another.
Anyway, how has this thread magically turned into a debate regarding whether I support theocracies? Of course I don't. One of the reasons I hate Zionism is because it is - at heart - a theocratic ideology. God giving the Land to the Hebrews and all that? They can kill anyone who gets in their way? Remember?
They're not now, unless they pay "tribute" to the caliphate state or convert to Islam or be killed.
Yes, thanks to the support of OUR proxies, Iraq is now a theocracy. And who are the major string pullers of Anglo-American foreign policy in MENA? Why, the Israelis... whom you seem to have great affinity for. Mysteriously. Despite them being, fundamentally, a theocracy.
And no, I do not wish to live in a country with a majority Muslim population. Mind, you, I live in a country with a similar theocratic tyranny - it's called democracy, and if I don't pay my jizya, sorry, tribute, shit, no, sorry, 'tax', I'll be thrown into a cage. And no, I'm not given the option to convert to democracy, I have to pay their fucking Jizya whether or not I worship the masses.
"And no, I do not wish to live in a country with a majority Muslim population. Mind, you, I live in a country with a similar theocratic tyranny - it's called democracy, and if I don't pay my jizya, sorry, tribute, shit, no, sorry, 'tax', I'll be thrown into a cage."
Ahhh, now we're getting down to it.
You're an athesit who somehow can't reconcile freedom OF religion, with freedom FROM, religion.
Well, no ones using the power of "the state" to conform you to THEIR beliefs are they? That would be immoral, unless one is a college professor or a "progressive" ;-)
Peace. Unfortunately you are repeating Orientalist nonsense that has been debunked since the British empire disinfo agents started spouting it during the height of empire. To understand jizyah think of the ancient "tithe' as per the tithe barns etc, meaning "one tenth". Under a Caliphate (Khilaafah) the Muslim is obligated to pay zakah (at 2.5%) and khums (at 20%), a total of 22.5%, on everything above outgoings and expenses over and above the previous years net assets. The non-Muslim is obligated to pay 10% on everything above outgoings and expenses. Not a single penny (dinar) more. Not bad for a top rate of "tax".
More importantly for all you freedom lovers out there, under the fear inducing Shariah there is NO mechanism of forced debt/obligation collection, therefore it is not even a tax (latin = takings), but rather everyone is expected to deal justly and volunteer the amount. There are no bean counters (accountants) and sets of accounts to prove what you owe, it is the individual's responsibility to decide and declare what they owe. The Islamic state has no right of challenge or oversight to the individual's declaration - if you lie or cheat then that is between you and Almighty God and He will hold you to account for any cheating on the Day of Judgment. So if you don't believe in the Day of Judgment and/or you have absolutely no morality or conscience, you can live under the Khilaafah (Caliphate) tax free and without fear of accusation, let alone jail for non-payment of taxes. Unfortunately the facts are pretty boring when compared to the thrill-a-minute drivel coming from the fear mongering propagandists, who "never let the facts get in the way of a good story".
Thank you for your considered, informative post.
Hoiwever, as it doesn't play into the seething Islamophobia that becomes evident every time Zionism gets examined here, it will have to be completely ignored.
You see, this is how it works: whenever some predator uses Islam as a pretext to fuck over the masses, that's Islam; whenever predators use Christianity or Judaism to fuck over the masses, that's just predation. Nothing to do with the religion. Unless - let me repeat! - it's Islam. Then it's definitely the fault of the religion. And an excuse to bomb Palestinians.
For the record, I think Christianity is a little harder to subvert in this way than Islam or Judaism, both of which more prominently glorify of slaughtering infidels. But, of course, seeing as Jesus was preaching to Jews, his Buddha-like message became conflated with Judaism and so 'Christian' predators still have all the eye-for-an-eye of the Torah to call upon as needed.
Ummm, no.
Tithing goes to the church (an entity completely separate from the state). You might of heard of the Mayflower and why they fled England but I digress.
The jizya is tribute to the state, otherwise you are killed, legally, by law. You either accept status UNDER LAW (did I emphasis that enough?) as Dhimmi...convert to Islam or die...a second class citizen.
This isn't about money from my perspective. No other state religion I know of does this, certainly not western nations in the modern era.
This is the confluence of church & state in its most egregious form, conform ones RELIGIOUS beliefs to THE STATES religious beliefs...or die?
Really? Its barbaric.
I will not hide my religious practices from "your state" so as to not "offend it" or you. There is not enough money/jewels/treasure on this entire planet to purchase my soul, my honor or my integrity, those things are all priceless to me.
So I guess you'll just have to kill me or banish me or conquer me.
But I have a question, do "progressives" know of these little intricacies of the "Arab Spring" and did you go out of your way to educate them or did you stand aside, taqiyya-kitman style?
Now you got me confused...
The good guys are the ones sitting on the oil, right.... right?
The good guys don't impose the jizya on a different religion once in power.
They just steal their ancestral lands, corral them into one of the most densely populated spots on earth, and then drop cluster bombs, fletchettes, and depleted uranium on them?
As opposed to shooting blindfolded & bound people in ditches & beheadings?
Pretty sure "we" haven't stolen anything, what did we steal?
Pretty sure "we" haven't stolen anything, what did we steal?
I was replying to this:
The good guys don't impose the jizya on a different religion once in power.
- I thought you were talking about the Israelis, not 'us*'
But, actually, 'we' do impose a jizya - we made the Iraqis switch back to taking dollars for oil. And woe betide any other non-nuclear oil producer that even thinks about dropping the PetroJizya.
* or are you Israeli, nmewn?
Don't start that bullshit, everyone here knows I'm Christian and American. The reason I posted all that was because Christians are being persecuted.
I'll consider that a tap out on your part ;-)
I'll consider that a tap out on your part ;-)
Pah! Never!
'When you're 15, you worry about what people think about you. When you're 35, you stop worrying what people think about you. When you're 55, you realise they weren't thinking about you at all"
Chum, you could be anyone from anywhere. I don't know how anyone here can 'know' you're Christian and American, let alone 'everyone'. Have you been holding parties for Hedgies without telling me???
The reason I ask if you're Israeli is because your pro-Israeli stance genuinely puzzles me in light of the generally libertarian stuff you post. Virtually all people of libertarian bent that I know think Zionism's claims to Palestine are wildly spurious, the everyday human rights violations they visit upon their hapless vanquished abominable, and their capture of our governments, media, and foreign policy (and aid) appalling.
But none of these things seems to trouble you one whit.
Is it that you just hate Muslims even more? I'm genuinely curious, because on virtually every other subject I find myself agreeing with you.
Sorry bout the tardy response, a Christian, cooking bacon ;-)
Palestinians, hapless...lol...the only thing hapless about them is letting Hamas fire rockets off between their homes and being used & abused by every people (and nation) in the world that hates Jews.
So, what is your opinion of monarchs, like Jordan, where they slaughtered thousands of Palestinians?
My opinion of Jordan? The same as my opinion of Saudi, Bahrain, Qatar.... The MENA 'monarchies' are despicable dictatorships... and ones that the Anglo-American empire helped create (in some cases literally), and help maintain through military aid, intelligence sharing, and joint 'security' training ops. As well as hiring legions of ex-SAS (and presumably US SF too) to crush any dissent.
But none of those have hijacked Western polities anywhere near to the degree that Zionists have. When Bahrain slaughters protesters, the MSM are silent (because Bahrain is 'our bastard'); if Assad slaughters protesters, it's all over the news and we supply and train the rebels; if Israel slaughters protesters the MSM are full of propaganda about poor little Israel.
Anyway, you've kind of answered my question; you seem to see the Israel-Palestinian conflict through a Jews-are-victims-thropughout-history lens, rather than a Zionists-stole-Arab-Land-and-will-do-anything-to-hold-onto-it-and-steal-some-more-all-while-draining-Goyim-coffers-and-veins-doing-it lens. Needless to say, I think the latter is a more accurate way of perceiving the issue.
Jim, I am really confused. I have never seen Nmewn post pro Israeli or anti Muslim so maybe you two are at cross purposes. He has always been open about his Christianity as I have been.
USA has blood on its hands since the creation of the Jewish State in 1948. All conflicts and uprisings, Intifadas, Oslo Accords, Gaza War, Pillar of Defense etc just have added to it. I would never excuse this country from its guilt. However, imposing a tax and subordinating a people based on religion is different from a democratic tax on citizenry. At least in this country we has a semblance of taxation with representation. Ok, I had to taste a bit of bile on that.
Nmewn posted a fact and you countered the conditions that led to the atrocity. Whether we take the blame for the conditions doesn't change the facts an atrocity has been committed. If I am murdered tonight because the local native Americans deem me an interloper on their ancestral lands, does this mean they are justified due to a century+old conflict? You may explain their reasoning due to historical events but is this the correct course of action for reparations?
I am not pro Israeli nor pro Palestinian. To be one or the other is choosing the Hatfields over the McCoys. As an American, I hate the fact my government has backed Israel and has created this conflict without resolution. I hate the fact both sides have used propaganda to foment anger and thus incite more violence and abuse of the innocents.
I am freedom loving and could not live under the strictures of a theocracy, Christian or Muslim. Frankly, if I had the power, I'd pull the plug on Israel. Let them defend themselves. More than 60 years of support seems quite adequate to me.
Maybe a Hedgie party wouldn't be such a bad idea. Face to face does have advantages anonymity lacks. Though it could devolve into a rather bloody affair.
Miffed;-)
Sometimes, if we're dodging from thread to thread replying or following up, it's easy to lose the context of that particular thread. FlakMeister is particularly guilty of this (assuming it's not deliberate misdirection and sophistry). So, in the spirit of dishonoring all things FlakMeister, I have gone back up-thread to review the course of posts.

I'm not so sure about ole Achmed anymore, what do you guys think? ;-)
So that was nmwen's first post on this particular thread. The first link takes you to this:
Groundhog Day Revisited
I first used the phrase Groundhog Day with reference to the Palestinians in April 2013, in Groundhog Day In the
Middle East. Having forgotten that post, I used it again last Monday in For Anti-Semitism, It’s Deja Vu All Over Again.
The reference is apt. Anyone observing Hamas’s attacks on Israel, Israel’s effort to neutralize Hamas’s terrorist capabilities,
and the international reaction to that effort–not, of course, to Hamas’s terrorist acts–can only feel that he has lived through
these events way too many times.
Daniel Greenfield admirably captures the pitiful nature of the Leftists who turn out for anti-Israel protests on these occasions.
In France, however, it is Muslims who take to the streets, and the “protests” are considerably more violent:
FrancePic1
FrancePic2
Over the last two weeks, 434 Palestinians (mostly terrorists rather than human shields, one hopes) and 20 Israelis have
died, according to Reuters. That makes Gaza officially more dangerous than Chicago, where 40 people were shot over the
weekend. Gaza is even more dangerous, at the moment, than Air Malaysia. But not by much.
Turkey’s Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, one of Barack Obama’s five “best friends” among foreign leaders, says that
Israel has “surpassed Hitler in barbarism.” If Erdogan has a similarly negative opinion of Vladimir Putin, he is keeping
it to himself.
All of this is crazy, of course, and I think everyone knows it, with the possible exception of Muslims in certain backward
countries like Pakistan and France. Israel, in my view, should pay zero attention to “world opinion” when world opinion
is certifiably insane. Israel should do whatever it takes to reduce the terrorist threat from Gaza as thoroughly and as
permanently as possible. At this point, the world needs Israel–second, perhaps, only to Silicon Valley as a center of
technological innovation, and now the possessor of vast natural gas resources–a lot more than Israel needs the world.
These first 1979-odd characters are just straight-out pro-Israeli propaganda, with the usual conflation of Gazan civilians with terrorists, and criticism of Israel with anti-Semitism. Only then do we get:
On the other hand, the world needs ISIS not at all. And while Israel is entirely innocent of the “massacres” and
“genocide” of which it is tiresomely accused, ISIS is guilty, and proudly so. In Mosul, ISIS has decreed that Christians
must convert to Islam, acknowledge their status as dhimmis and pay the Jizyah tax, or be beheaded. This shouldn’t be
surprising; it is nothing more than what the Koran prescribes. To their credit, Mosul’s Christians have mostly left their
homes behind and fled toward Kurdish-controlled areas where they believe they will be safe.
ISIS, meanwhile, has burned down the 1,800-year-old Syriac Catholic Archdiocese in Mosul:
Mosul-Chaldean-Cathedral
In a sort of reverse Passover, ISIS activists have marked the homes of Christians with the letter N for “Nassarah,”
an Islamic term for Christian, to identify the homes whose inhabitants were to be slaughtered.
20140719114517
Somehow, though, events such as these don’t lead anyone to riot and start fires in Paris, Boston or anywhere else.
1035 characters... roughly half of what was devoted to pro-Zionism... and, of course, no mention of the fact that ISIS were created via Western proxies, and, indeed, allegedly supplied, trained, and even given medical treatment by... Israel
http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/Report-Syrian-rebel-forces-trained-by-W...
http://www.timesofisrael.com/syrian-rebel-leader-thanks-pm-for-standing-...
Anyway, to recap, nmewn clumsily connects knukles' holiday to monaco, first to a pro-Zionist, Islamophobic article, then with a follow on link to a sober piece just reporting the facts of ISIS' actions. If, as he claims, nmewn is just an impartial observer, and just wanted to bring people's attention to ISIS' atrocities, why did he bother with the first link? Then when I call him on his pro-Israeli bias, he protests his post was all about ISIS, and drags the various spinnoff threads into getting me to agree I think ISIS are bad persons. Which they are, obviously, so it's a shame the West and Israel created and are supporting them.
He's one of the more subtle shills here, and posts lots of stuff the rest of us agree with, but it's clear nmewn has an agenda... and one that he vociferously denies. A vociferously denied agenda makes him untrustworthy in my book. Hedge accordingly.
This needs addressing because, you again, ascribe motives to me that are not true.
"Anyway, to recap, nmewn clumsily connects knukles' holiday to monaco,..."
It was a humorous entry that I used to bring up another place. I can't help it you have no sense of humor.
"...first to a pro-Zionist, Islamophobic article,..."
The first part, of the first article, THAT YOU CONCENTRATE ON, was ignored by me, I said nothing about it, you did. The part YOU IGNORE is ISIS marking the houses of Christians with N for Nassarah (meaning Christian) which is & was the thrust of everything I wrote.
Again, if you scroll down in the first article I POSTED you see a pic, leading to the second article which you confirm, a picture of a red N, spray painted on the front door of a Christian, in Mosul, Islamic for Christian (Nassarah).
Now, deny it.
"...then with a follow on link to a sober piece just reporting the facts of ISIS' actions. If, as he claims, nmewn is just an impartial observer, and just wanted to bring people's attention to ISIS' atrocities, why did he bother with the first link?"
Because a fucking picture is worth a thousand words to idiots like you.
I'm sorry, I know it's two to a fight but I haven't had time to review the facts before commenting on a fight I technically should not comment. Damn, I'm intrigued! But Mr is giving me the Frowny Face and the stallion nip to bed so I must try tomorrow. ;-(
I get tired of manning the oars sometimes.
Miffed;-)
These two SOB's are more PC than a Berkeley college professor.
One of them can't believe why someone wouldn't gladly pay to relegate themself to being a second class citizen and subjugate himself to the whims of the majority (or minority), while the other can't force himself to read past something he disagrees with to see visual proof of what I say, its just too painful.
Its one thing to be deaf, dumb and blind by accident or birth...its an entirely different thing to blame someone else for causing your own condition ;-)
Yup, sometimes a personal issue is tripped and you fail to see the point of the argument. See below and comment ,if needed. I am a bit confused why this went where it did. I think I need to understand Big Jim's statement of personal belief. Everything seems a bit reactive, personal and accusatory.
I guess I like you both and don't want to chose sides unless forced. Ok, That was a bit female. I apologize.
Miffed;-)
Here's the thing, nmewn. Everyone in the West are constantly bombarded with pro-zionist propaganda. Everytime I bother to look, the MSM is repeating the same half-truths and lies that Israel use to justify their stealing Arab land and blowing children apart. 'Our' representatives appear to believe their first fealty is to Israeli citizens, not the taxpayers who pay their salary. And to cap it off, when Netanyahu comes to vist and give a speech, these same 'representatives' give this war criminal 29 standing ovations for him basically saying the Palestinians can go fuck themselves.
What's more, Israel have a paid (and voluntary) corps of thousands of zionist propagandists who are bombarding the comment section of every blog and newssite with the same bullshit. Some of them are painfully obvious. And some of them are very subtle.
So when someone like you posts what you did, then, yes, if it walks like a duck, I'm going to think, shit, maybe it's a duck. And the various evasive replies to my questioning didn't exactly make it any less duck-like.
If you'd only meant to use the yellow journalism hit piece for its single photo, why not link to the Yahoo piece first, and comment that there was some photographic evidence buried deep in the linked-to Islamophobia for additional evidence?
Israel can do what it does chiefly because the US citizenry have had a mixture of philosemitic, pro-zionist and islamophobic bullshit funnelled into their cranium for generations. So, damnit, yes, I'm sensitive to it.
Maybe it was all innocent on your part. If so, apologies.
Got my eye on you, boy ;-)
Jim,
After reviewing the first link, I must admit it is blatant yellow journalism because of the wording. However, I do not think Nmewn's point of this was to be pro Israel, but to shed some light on the plight of Christians in this region. The fact ISIS has been trained by the West is well documented and inescapable. Operation Cyclone is another example of our foreign policy that had a direct link to Islamic unrest. We have kicked a hornets nest and the results are being seen today.
Most reporting today is biased. Considering the source of the articles, this is always the case. Growing up with a newspaper reporter mother has made me less influenced by such things. I took away from the articles that Christians were being driven from their homes. That they were purposefully being identified as Christians makes me believe this has a base in religious hatred. That they have lived there for hundreds of years makes me believe there is more to it than simply that. I do not become pro Isreal by reading this article because all facts are not reported. Picking any side without all facts is foolish and the more one goes down the rabbit hole in these affairs, one finds onself on my countries soil.
I obviously cannot know for sure what nmewn's agenda is, if he has one. You seem to think this is obvious due to this link. However, a link is not a direct statement of belief. As a Christian,he identifies with atrocities against Christians as I do as well but this does not mean a hatred of Moslems is a logical conclusion.
You, he and I... all of us have our own personal biases, beliefs that stir our souls and cause us passion and outrage. Perhaps we all have subconscious agendas. But, it is the responsibility of the individual to maintain his own truth and be unswayed by simple biased argument. Truth will always, at some point be revealed no matter how hard the person tries for deception. By their fruits you shall know them. That is my best hedge.
If I had spoken erroneously nmewn I will accept correction. I does bother me to speak about others without their input and I hope I have not misrepresented you.
Miffed;-)
I'm coming back to this very late so I doubt anyone will read it!
Thanks for the thoughtful reply, Miffed, always appreciated. I'll answer nmewn's comments above; read them if you like :-)
Oh save your shit...Palistinians asked for Gaza, got it, then proceded to shit in their own nest. FU you stupid fuking piehole.
Here, let me help you out, Hasbara:
"We pulled out of the Gaza Strip in 2005... we pulled out of every inch."
Israel likes to pretend that the occupation of Gaza ended with Ariel Sharon's 'unilateral disengagement' from the strip in August 2005. It didn't. Israel is still, legally, the occupying power and continues to control Gaza's territorial borders, coastal waters and airspace. In fact, as Harvard University Middle East expert Sara Roy noted in the Boston Globe in 2012: "Israeli-imposed buffer zones -- areas of restricted access -- now absorb nearly 14 percent of Gaza's total land and at least 48 percent of total arable land. Similarly, the sea buffer zone covers 85 percent of the maritime area promised to Palestinians in the Oslo Accords, reducing 20 nautical miles to three..." Israel also continues to control the Palestinian Population Registry, which has the power to define who is a "Palestinian" and who is a legal resident of Gaza. Does Gaza sound sovereign, independent or un-occupied to you?

Funny how a dickhead will quote Harvard when convenient then blast them out of the other side of your fucking face the next. You are a fucking piehole, .gov obiebient bitch. How about you try the impossible and insert your penis into your own ass?!?!
Harvard? WTF are you talking about?
How about you try the impossible and insert your penis into your own ass?!?!
Is this what the Israeli girls say to you when you try to get it on with them... because they prefer nice big Goyim cock?
Maybe you're some sort of dickhead who doesn't read their cut and pastes? You mentioned Harvard, not me.
Funny how a dickhead will quote Harvard when convenient then blast them out of the other side of your fucking face the next.
Do try to make some sense. It lends credibility, something you are profoundly lacking.
Really, are you fucking stupid you don't you think everyone else can follow your thread mentioning Harvard?
Where did you go to school, Detroit?
Sigh, let me explain it to someone who thinks people who are neither Semitic nor Judaists are somehow entitled to land a tiny minority of their alleged ancestors left 1400 years ago.
I pulled out a paragraph that contains a quote from a Harvard professor, from an article I linked to. How does this "blast them out of the other side of (my) fucking face the next"?
Do try to make sense, please. Your people are relying on you!
PS - I thought Israelis were cultured? You come across as a loud-mouthed, boorish peasant. This kind of bullying might work in person, if you were a physically impressive specimen, but online it's just laughable. We can just imagine you pounding away on your keyboard in inchoate, inarticulate rage, unable to summon sufficient wit to rebut or refute. Sad.
Say - have you tried ALL CAPS, LIKE THIS? WITH LOTS OF EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!!! IT WORKS REALLY GOOD!!!!
You asswipe, you have lied throughout this thread. Where do you accept some sense of responsibility of your posts? Go fuck your lying ass.
You are really, really bad at this. Why don't you go back to doing something you enjoy, like killing Palestinian civilians? They can't hit you back, but here, chum, you're just pigmeat.
HuffPo whore!
I'm sure you'd be quoting them if they were reminding us what terrible victims the poor little Israelis are, having to deal with the occasional home-made Palestinian rocket while sitting on the land they stole from them.
Sucks that the Palinstines have to deal with the "occasional rocket". You stupid fuck.
Yeah because the "occasional home made rocket" doesnt kill children you stupid fuck!
What's the ratio at the moment? 100:1 dead Israelis to Palestinians?
But I guess that still is rather short of the ideal: a million dead Arabs for one Jewish fingernail.
Anyway, shouldn't you be off paying your respects at your hero Baruch's shrine?
“One million Arabs are not worth a Jewish fingernail.”
-- Rabbi Yaacov Peria, funeral oration at the funeral of mass-murderer Baruch Goldstein

You intellectual coward fuck!
That's it? All those years in Yeshiva, studying the complexities of Torah with the help of the Talmud... and that's the best you can manage?
Rabbi would be disappointed. I hope.
What a coward. Do you have the balls to post Hamas Charter? No, really, the balls you pussy. Seriously, the balls?
Balls, pussy, balls... you really are an earthy kind of chap, aren't you? I'll bet the girls - the really pretty ones - find that especially exciting.
Why don't YOU post Hamas' charter? I expect some of your friends in Mossad helped write it when they were funding them in the early days.
Oh, you didn't know about that? That your own government helped found Hamas?
Maybe if you spent more time researching the appalling history of your racial-supremacist belief system (rather than shouting at people on the intertubes) you'd have a few more ideas to rub together.
iamrefreshed
Dude, you played the game, and you lost. Just walk away. Take a deep breath, admit that you got smoked, and walk away.
Watch some tv, play a game, look out the window. Relax. It's ok.
Hi! FU asswipe!
LOL. Easy. Eaaasy.
Sometimes you know I think the great thing about this is that you can bang the keyboard, rant, rave, and then at the end of it all, just come back tomorrow and start fresh. Who knows, maybe tomorrow we can all make some comments on another thread and have a laugh together.
Just take it easy.
But nmewn, there are advantages! dhimmis, and others, sharia law permits the consumption of pork and alcohol by non-Muslims living in Islamic countries, although they may not be openly displayed. Jizyah can be avoided if you simply convert! So it comes down to a simple choice. Pulled pork sandwiches and a tax vs death. And the excitement wondering if you can escape when you run out of money. Makes living in crazy Cali with gov Moonbeam not so terrible.
A friend and I once were trying to one up each other telling horrible job stories. At 16 she worked at a high end lingerie shop in Davis and had to work 10- midnight once a week when the store was open only to rich Middle Eastern clients, all men. I thought that wasn't so bad. The owners probably thought is was embarrassing for Muslim men to buy such things for their wives. She laughed at my naïveté. Yup, she was showing them to the dressing rooms where they could try on the thongs and bras. Had to laugh how religion can ban "deviant" behavior but they just drive it underground. Maybe they took the risk knowing,if caught, they'd still have their heads. Hope they bought enough before we get Sharia law. ;-)
Miffed;-)
Yeah, Wall Street has a new Financial Service
It is called a financial stability package (joking)
What they do they keep the price of stocks in NASDQ & NYSE at nice levels just like gold & silver price fixing. It is a spin off from HFT, High Speed Computer Trading. They give you an account manager supervised by an old trader with a rep, and charge you a usage fee based on how much computer intervention is required to keep your stock in stated price range.
Peter Pan: "How about the ones you don't bump into"
Well, check the above comment.... It's because they moved there.
I think you better watch out for the ones who bump into you trying to pick your wallet.
I would have thought Zimbabwe would have topped that list.
They have Trillionaires.
I would rather be homeless than live in NYC as a millionaire.
That means 24 out of 25 are living paycheck to paycheck.
snap card to snap card. trading them for loosies and tall boys.
this is a total joke. it's based mostly on people owning crap real estate they've got little to no equity in - that isn't worth 1/2 what it lists as.
the tide will one day go out.
Thats what bubbles do.
Toronto and Oslo ? The places where the real estate bubbles havn't popped yet ?
China town(San Fran), too.
Burp...buuuurrrp... Sorry that Chicken Hawk tempura was a bit spicy.
Does anyone know where I can buy a cheap used "kite board"?
Are you here all week?
Cuz I'd trade you in a heartbeat for a Francis Sawyer. This shit isn't even funny. And you're worse when you drink.
You lookin for some action Tick? I see Krugman on the other thread. He's ripe for the suckin!
You're completely off kilter as usual.
I thought I heard that weak fading echo of yours.
Krugman can lick your pussy. Lol I hate the SYSTEM you fucking 2 party boomergoon. You have no idea what that means.
Just like a tick. It sucks the life out of it's host, then re-appears for no apparent reason to reinsert it's sucker into a new host.
You're full of shit, and anyone here knows I don't take sides. If you need some attention go suck on your dog!
Hey all, I've started a website that offers free technical and fundamental analysis on the precious metals complex.
www.goldsqueeze.com
I am also posting relevant news from around the web. Please take a look and bookmark if you like what you see. My intent is certainly not to compete with ZH. I'm really doing this for education purposes (to get the word out) and because I enjoy doing it.
Not bad, does some of what I look for a US Gold Bureau site.
You might want an article on fundamentals that reveals the Industrial Use of Gold. Things that get sent into Space, Music Components, Electronics, Communications Equipment.
What do they use in Combat Radios Silver or Gold? I had heard that in the Jungle you want Gold Components in your Communications Equipment.
Airplane Electronics are also a category. And Submarines are a separate category. Apparently the atmosphere does different things to metal and sometimes produces "Gas". Under water maybe it is about metals "sweating".
Oscar
This is great. What I would do - and I think someone else may have done this is to show the comparison of prices for each of those metals vendors. Then, if they have affiliate programs (like APMEX used to), you'll get paid each time someone buys product from any of them, but most likely the one that has the lowest price and ease of payment (credit cards, bank drafting).
See you at the 'Beagle...
Q. What do they call someone in NYC who owes a million?
A. Delinquent Taxpayer.
And here I thought the answer was Charles Rangle
It's all relative in relation to the cost of living as almost every city listed is also at the top end of the most expensive to live in. Hell, you need to make $300k plus a year and have a large nest egg just to afford New York. Also, one most consider what investments/wealth these individuals own to support their millionaire status. For those poor saps in Europe, let's hope its not all tied up in those completely honest and I'm sure, fiscally sound banks (that are loaded up on such high quality loans and other assets). Assuming the financial industry around the globe actually valued their balance sheets using appropriate methods such as mark to market and using appropriate discount rates (real, not the BS influenced rates dictated by CBs) to value debt/loan holdings, its safe to say that these lists would be significantly impacted to the downside.
Nice list as long as you live in the fantasy world created by the CBs. Now let's return to reality and get a list that values real assets and adjusts for costs of living. I believe it would offer a very different result.
but statistics shows they jumb by the windows most as well so....
Monaco has no income tax (in addition to many other advantages).
No property taxes...
they'll still eat each other alive when the electric goes out
Sometimes they do that with the lights on too.
Yeah, but with the lights on, it's less dangerous. Come the crash, they will all entertain us.
Well, at least until the market crashes.
That's why so many jobs are created in Monoco!
What do you recon their unemployment rate is?
Where's Palo Alto come in?
"10s millionaire" sounds awkward, but that's where they come in.
in kuwait, every house owner is a millionare
BS, they mean Manhattan and that is gross not net. When you take liabilities into account it's a different story.
I mean... You pretty much have to be.
Toronto has half what New York City has? What a ripoff, Wall Street.
Wall Street is now my bitch!
PAY UP, SUCKERS.
Well at least we know who the Fed talks to in all those 'confidence' surveys.
I think the really wealthy tend to live outside NYC in places like the Hamptons. It would be interesting to see statistics for those places.
They live in Westchester County just outside NYC or over the line in Greenwich, CT.
And the other 24, excluding Chinese tourists, are the most unhappy people in America...
Always richest at the scene of the crime.
"1 in every 25 New Yorkers you bump into is a millionaire."
....and is also a pick pocket....but on a grand scale.
Forget who to credit for this:
"Monaco....a sunny place for shady people"....kind of like NYC...A dark place for shady people....
......now it comes to me: Somerset Maugham.
Hey watch it, Novak Djokovic "lives" in Monte Carlo. Met him once and seems like a nice enough guy.
Even sold the photo rights to his recent wedding and gave the proceeds to charity.
Soon to be thousandaires.........
Um,Hay Dumbfucks, I don't see Dubai or the fucking Emirats. Ohhh. I've been to NYC and one in 25 is a pimp piece of shit.
Does that count? Hey, Welcome to Russia, Assholes!
Firenze?
I knew the fashion industry was big there with their little Rodeo Drive, Ferragamo, Gucci and all, but damn.
Those little Bangladeshi leather hucksters off the Mercato Centrale must be killing it with all their overpriced fake goods.
I spoke with an Italian leather shop keeper last fall about all the crap stamped Made in Italy selling in the street. He threw up his hands and said the police turn a blind eye.
Though, you start selling knock off Ferrari gear and the mooks show up in full force, take your inventory and rough you up enough to get their point across.
Venice is a suprise as well. And Rome? I'm assuming they're including the Vactian in that stat.
No Milan?
One in 25 New Yorkers is a millionaire !
Guess they are all banksters and they belong to the BAFIA
Funny how the fucktard asswipes who bitch about Rosie O'Donnell and Michael Moore agree with them when convenient!
FU you fucking American hating scum sucking pieholes.
Ha ha, I agree 100%
