Putin Speaks: Will Respond "Adequately" To Ongoing NATO Buildup; "Wont Tighten Screws" In Response To Threats

Tyler Durden's picture

Perhaps there were some concerns that Putin, following the Russian Security Council Meeting today, may lash out at the west with escalating retaliatory sanctions against the west of his own. He did not which may explain why futures just saw an algo-driven buying wave moments ago. Still, what he did say is hardly justification to declare an "all clear" for risk as Putin being Putin, he merely reiterated for the nth time the Russian party line: Ukraine should facilitate a cease fire, Russia won't "blink" no matter how intense western sanctions are, and Russia will retaliate in kind to any ongoing NATO build up on its borders. Oh, and Crimea is now Russia's to do as it sees fit.

It's that old, "Don't bother interfering while your enemy is self-destructing.  Just stand back and watch the show."  Something like that.  From a very old book.

Or, "Give 'em enough rope and they'll hang themselves."
Or, "Just keep quiet and let them keep talking."

Unfortunately, you won't see any of it on our telescreens.

This war is mainly economical, currency and informational war. So what are the mistakes? There are several: wrong tools against guys whom have the upper hand (almost in everything); pushing the allies against their own basic interests and this war is fought on long run. This means 3 things: 1st short therm goals must match with long therm goals; 2nd who have better concepts, plans and preparation is the winner and the 3rd this war is on at least 5 years and we are seeing the last moves.

He should look for ways to house some displaced children out there. His kids could play on the beach with them. Many homes are empty all winter so the kiddies could stay on the island until next May. I am just thinking about the children, they do not all need to end up in Lynn (the city of sin), Ma.. Putting them up in empty malls in Ma. has also been proposed, I think idle vacation homes is much more humane.

(1) The Federal Reserve Cartel: The Eight Families

By DEAN HENDERSON

(Part One of a Five-part series)

The Four Horsemen of Banking (Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup and Wells Fargo) own the Four Horsemen of Oil (Exxon Mobil, Royal Dutch/Shell, BP and Chevron Texaco); in tandem with Deutsche Bank, BNP, Barclays and other European old money behemoths. But their monopoly over the global economy does not end at the edge of the oil patch.

According to company 10K filings to the SEC, the Four Horsemen of Banking are among the top ten stock holders of virtually every Fortune 500 corporation.[1]

So who then are the stockholders in these money center banks?

This information is guarded much more closely. My queries to bank regulatory agencies regarding stock ownership in the top 25 US bank holding companies were given Freedom of Information Act status, before being denied on “national security” grounds. This is rather ironic, since many of the bank’s stockholders reside in Europe.

One important repository for the wealth of the global oligarchy that owns these bank holding companies is US Trust Corporation - founded in 1853 and now owned by Bank of America. A recent US Trust Corporate Director and Honorary Trustee was Walter Rothschild. Other directors included Daniel Davison of JP Morgan Chase, Richard Tucker of Exxon Mobil, Daniel Roberts of Citigroup and Marshall Schwartz of Morgan Stanley. [2]

This Ukraine thing is funny stuff.

Yanukovych platform did not include..... not joining EU and joining Eurasia Union.

In reality, Yanukovych did the coup first before the counter coup later.

The idea that Yanukovych was democratically elected is propaganda.

Yes, he was, but he reneged on all his platform, hence his election become practically null and void.

Coup by Putin and Yanukovych; countercoup by USA and EU.

He sent Tymoshenko to jail and stole state assets with Putin.

That is a coup.

Now that you have learned we use ballots instead of bullets, you will not be so quick to move away from elections.  The coup in Ukrainie was a catastrophe that almost no one supports escept foreign powers.  It is unfortunate you had to regress to the politics of an African warlord to solve simple policy issues.  But you get what you pay for.

splitting Ukraine in 2 sounds like a very good option right now.  The fact the industrial and agricultural areas are found in the Russian leaning region and the European leaning region is not wouldn't have anything to do with the motives for the counter coup, which as I mentioned above has been violent and people are dying because of it.

These are the stupid games that produced 1914-18 and started the long European Civil War - the greatest since the Thirty Years War. It's ironic that the US built China into a superpower by converting it into the West's sweatshop.  The sad truth is that the US could have kept the world under its thumb indefinitely if it only played nice with the petrodollar.  Money and the thirst for more power through intimidation trumped common sense.

War will come much sooner, the US can't prop the dollar up too much longer and is irrelevant without the fiat to fund its military.

when one substitutes the meme of "nations" for "corporations"

it's always about the power over, and the profits.

But if you watch Channel 1, or still talk with people back in Russia, there are plenty of war drums on both sides of the Atlantic.

There are war drums because the governments involved, and to some extent the citizens, are more interested in learning who is toughest than in going about their daily lives.

It is dumb.

I can tell you who will win the war.

When you help to down a plane its reasonable to have a reasonable response. Putin does not control what goes on in Russia or Ukraine, in detail.

In Russia its quite common that things happen very differently from what has been planned. In fact, that happens in most cases as executive abilities are not developed.

After such mishap, reasonable is the best defence.

i don't care about putin one way or the other. Neither do I care about the usa maggots. They deserve each other imo. The plain truth is that putin is weak. His love of money, paper money, makes him weak. The other billionaires in Russia also have this weakness in the extreme, which is personally dangerous for Putin. This is my objective opinion.

It is true that Pooty has the weaker hand in theory. However US power is built on sand because the banking mafia off-shored the US economy. So Pooty needs to hang tough and play for time while the US needs to hurry to provoke a war to scare the BRICs.

please, how does russia have the weaker hand?  russia has natural resources, yes, they may do what SA has done in the past and raise prices, they may play that hand yet, but how does the US have the stronger hand?  it's saddled with debt, lacks resources, its fracking is not the stellar answer many hoped it might be, US production is down, profits sit offshore and its burdened by being isreal's donkey.  isreal will send the US burdened with explosives into the fray---putin may be a lover of luxury but russia has been quietly signing deals across the globe.  russia's ducks appear to be in a well thought through row.  XOM and BP appear to agree and have effectively side stepped the sanctions and are happily continuing to follow through on plans to work with rosneft.  please, i am missing where the US is in control and has a great strong hand and a mastermind behind it?

Sorry for posting this second time but I thought that analysis I heard was important. The crux of it is this: NATO drilled on jamming radar and people on the ground saw jets flying around passenger planes, dropping bombs and then hiding behind the plane.

Here, especially if readers know German, could you look through this doc and listen the show:

"Hiding behind the plane' is a bit much if interpreted directly.

But I expect that the implication - that Ukrainian military jets were using commercial air routes as camoflaged ingress and egress routes from targets is almost certainly accurate.

Another lie revealed. On Friday, the civil aviation ministry issued a statement that "there was no Air India flight near the ill-fated Malaysian plane at the time of the incident".

Now the pilots of Air India which were only 90 seconds away when MH17 went down made a clear statement that they had been close to MH17 and that they were able to listen to the voice trafic!

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Air-India-flight-was-90-seconds...

And even more intersting, what the pilots confirm being said is absolutely inline with the twitter statements of the Spanish Flightcontroler.

So it becomes more and more ugly for Kiew and its alliance.

In the meantime, re Flight 17...

The UN Security Council has condemned the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over Ukraine and called for an international probe into the incident in a unanimously adopted resolution.

All 15-member states voted to pass the Australia-proposed resolution, condemning “in the strongest terms” the crash of Malaysian plane on July 17 in Donetsk region of Ukraine, which resulted in 298 people dead.

Russia's UN Ambassador was pleased with the vote.  It is clear that they are not worried, but are licking their chops at the prospect of the bungling Kiev regime taking the fall for blood on their hands.  Oh, Obummer, you "moved too soon" and in an un-presidential manner, in your criticism of who done it.

Nightmarish World War II memories linger in Moscow, Ukrainian neo-fascists were among those who seized control in the new government in Kiev yet the U.S. rushed to give its blessing to what the Kremlin later described as a "coup d'etat". Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, reflected these worries when he voiced "most serious concern" over Ukraine in phone calls to the French, German and Polish foreign ministers. The EU, knowing this was what Washington wanted did nothing.

Regardless of who shot down the plane the Russians are furious at what they see happening in Ukraine. Don't hold your breath for Putin to back-off or back-down, he has put down his marker and is now playing both Obama and Kerry for fools in a contest that cost Russia little. It is likely that if If Putin doesn't get Eastern Ukraine next week he will next month or next year at the latest. More on this subject in the article below.

Obama / Brennan have created ALL the chaos taking place throughout the middle east and ukraine. Obama has announced military cuts concurrently and given pink slips to combat soldiers in afghanistan. PUTIN sees weakness as does China and N. Korea and Iran. Hence nuke talks delayed 4 more months. Kerry is a laughing stock and the stae department is like a college sorority tweeting bullshit and further reducing credibility. EU knows they will freeze their asses off this winter unless they tread gently. Obama knows EU wont act and so puts the ball in their court.

As the #1 world power inaction is consent. What is taking place is exactly what Obama/Brennan want. they squandered military sacrifice both in Iraq and Afghanistan. Brennan gavce it all away. No SOF agreement and Maliki persecuted the opposition with not a peep from the ussa. This made it ripe for iran or isis or al queda to move in.

Putin sees that after all the sacrifice we squandered it will be IMPOSSIBLE for Obama/Brennan to react militarily, WHICH IS THE ONLY THING THAT WILL STOP HIM.. Because of dopmestic policy it will be 5 years min to get LNG exports of any significance to the EU to counter Putin. Obama's grand scheme is to divide the ussa and take it down. Biden in a closed door fundraiser said"THESE ILLEGALS ARE THE FUTURE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY"... meaning look forward to AMNESTY and massive voter registration right before the coming election... END OF GAME...

Actually, if you are not in the USSA right now, I would not go back if you have an alternative.

If you can, leave.

The military drawdown is intended to prevent the USA from a legitimate defense if needed.

You have a full-scale invasion on the US border, a rapidly dwindling military, a rapidy growing SS which, as in NAZI Germany, will overtake the US Armed Forces, and a for-real, actual, Dictator in control.

Looks like the US is actually Totally Fucked, but it will take a while yet for more people to see it.

Of course, by then, well, "Work Makes You Free."

You think the Dictator will chance it against armed US citizens? Of course not. He will explode nukes and unleash biological warfare within CONUS. I dare say he has already begun the Biowar from Mexico.

Good Luck.

Official German government sources reveal [1] that there were radar/transponder issues over various EU countries.

There is further evidence (per the Times of India article [2]) that flight MH17 was diverted by Kiev controllers into a "direct routing" path that avoids the zig-zags and takes it over a risky region.  When MH17 failed to respond to controllers, the nearby AI flight (25 km or 90 seconds away) was asked to speak to (or listen in on) the the MH17 pilots.

There is also further evidence  (per Russian Defence Ministry information) that Ukrainian Air Force fighter jets went to check it out.  It is logical and reasonable to think that they then "shadowed" the MH17 flight for a while.  Whether they shot it down, after being unable to contact the pilots, or whether SAMs were used, is TBD.

Any way you slice it, it's a messy affair, and our "leaders" are not providing responsible or measured leadership with their zealous beating of war drums.

It does indeed look, feel and smell just like another "FDR setup"  or "911 setup" [3] to force the opposition into a Sucker Punch, to artificially create the public (US, EU) outrage and justification for a major conflict/war.  A conflict/war, that would save the USD from its demise as the GRC.

While the public's attention is momentarily distracted by these tragic events, ISIS is still on a roll, as are the IDF in Gaza.  Where's the US/NATO "outrage" there?
