scrollin through today's ZH headlines janus came across a story that should'a made the apocalyptic-minded blanch…seems there's plagues pervasive, earthquakes ecumenic, wars & rumors of wars in all the globe's corners, signs in the heavens and on the earth…holes the size of football fields openin up in siberia, ebola infection runnin rampant amongst folk who've never even tasted bush-meat…fucked up shit. the world's had a bad case of disaster-diahreeah. every single day we're inundated with a hot, turgid spew of news-items what increasingly defy credulity…relentless-like. again, apocalyptic al allegro.
hell, janus ain't immune. i'm suffering just like any other'n. matter o' fact, i've come down with a mild case of alcoholism. sure'nuff, right about five o'clock (for the last several days), i've suffered through an insatiable craving for beer. fret not, brethren, janus knows just how to treat his affliction. problem is, i'm all outta beer…a twelve-pack won't cut it anymore. so, consequently, i'm stealing my host's crowne royal. and it isn't that i feel bad about the theft or anything (i'll confess in the morning), it's more that he doesn't have any decent whiskey to steal…i mean, for Christ's sake, i was raised in georgia, not south carolina. i swear, south carolinians don't know shit about bourbon. it's a goddam shame.
all the same, here's a dedication to south carolina. i'm thinking of makin it my southern home again (understanding that i'll always have a center of gravity in new england…even so, a red neck must have himself a suitable nest in dixie). and not only because it's an awesome state, but for symbolic reasons also…tariff of abominations, fort sumpter…THE trigger-finger what sparked REBELLION!!!!

anyway, where was i? ahhh, yes…small thoughts and whatnot.
so, the most expedient route from lake murray, south carolina to norfolk, virgina takes janus right through Fayetteville, NC…HOOOAHHH! as such, janus did in a day pass through the most important army installation and did terminate his trip here, in norfolk, virginia -- home of the eastern fleet's cent com, 3 seal teams, a few carrier groups…martial badassery everywhere in all directions. janus spent the other day relaxing on the beach, watching our golden boys practice outta their haven in little creek…hover-craft-landers, helos, f-14s, aux-vessels…the works! fantastically awesome what we are militarily. and i can't help but wonder...
janus is now ready to wonder aloud if'n the American People (not, mind you, amorica) are prepared for what's inevitable. i'm startin to guess they're on a gut-level prepped…they only but need a bit of justification, ethotic-definition, clear-thinking demonstration, and, well, frankly, precipitating predication for what's to come. did y'all really think that a bunch of fags in langley or a crop of mormen prudes in chevy-chase could ever contend with Uncle Sam? sheeeeeeatttt! black budgets are evanescent…the fun and games are nearing their end.

as for my friend here in norfolk…well, ZHealtos, he's as true-blue American as they come…and his taste in whiskey notwithstanding, i think he may have a few things reckoned better than janus (if'n you can imagine)…maybe, just maybe, the dutch shepherd is a superior breed to the doberman, and, i'm starting to think the .308 may be bettah than the .270. i dunno…perhaps we should put it to the test -- a death-match betwixt the most vicious doberman vs. the most menacing dutch shepard around…and then once that's settled, start siting in live-targets with the .308 & .270 side-by-side. when it comes to proof, there's nothin more solid than death.

I used to be an Israel supporter, but then I spent a week touring extensively and I changed my tune. I met good individuals of all faiths, but the ghetto environment the Palestinians were crammed into was pathetic. In Hebron, there are guarded turnstyles that the residents have to file through. In the West Bank, the poor bastards have to line up outside Israeli customs EVERY DAY to get a one-day visa so that they can go to their shit paying jobs; they sit at the gate (frequently in the rain) at 5-6 AM and don't get through for hours. The Israelis cut down their olive trees and build continuously encroaching settlements in the West Bank. There are observation ballons watching over the West Bank, and huge concrete walls separating the Israelis from the Palestinians. It is fucking pathetic. It reminds me of the Cherokee Indians. being penned-up by the U.S. army. Israel now disgusts me.
May I offer a modest proposal to help end this strife?
