If Americans Knew What Was Happening In Israel …

George Washington's picture

If my fellow Americans understood the history of Israel and Palestine, their views would change overnight … and they would demand that Israel no longer be given unconditional support and blank checks to do whatever they want:

Postscript: Former Israeli Minister: Calling people who criticize Israeli policy “anti-semitic. It’s a trick … we always use it”.

"... UNRWA had been attempting to negotiate with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) a pause in the fighting during which they would guarantee a safe corridor to relocate staff and any displaced person who chose to evacuate to a more secure location. Approval for that never came to UNRWA."

You can hope for whatever you'd like but that will not change the fact that Israel is now a globally recognized pariah state. A terrorist state. A nation of baby killers and war mongers. A nation of liars and thieves. Look around and see with your own beady little eyes and see that the information age has stripped your tribe of it's ability to further lie to the world about your plight, past, present and future. You've been outed and busted. You stand naked before the world, drenched in the blood of innocent children with your flaccid member shriveling in humiliation. The past is prologue and you will surely reap what you have sown. The next time you are thrown out of a country, for the 110th time, remember this moment in history and KNOW with complete certainty that you brought it on yourself.

Israel is DONE.

Information age is mostly used to spread propaganda and porn. Almost all countries are pariah states that promote only their own version of information on the internet. What do Plutocrats fear the most?

1.)The principle of "one person -- one vote"?

ZH sanctioned bloggers have repeatedly challenged this basic Democratic principle with comments that question the right of majority to VOTE. Accordingly, they believe that this lot that pays no taxes in their thinking(not correct) will simply vote all the monies for themselves? Imagine that, money going to them instead of 1%.

2.)Political backlash through rising taxation on the rich or through higher corporate taxes or regulation

ZH writers, sponsored bloggers or promoted articles vehemently attack and ridicule any such idea as socialist and FREE SHIT ARMY.

3.)Protection of domestic labor

No, there has not been a single article on ZH supporting US workers; any attempt by laborers to raise their wages is countered here with proverbial "so you want to pay $10 for a burger?"

No, ZH does not favor Putonomy, it just happens that they agree with policies that allow Plutonomy to flourish.

No, what we object to is the majoritarian notion that the electorate can vote for anything they please, no matter how ruinous or tyrannical. I doubt any 'sanctioned' bloggers want to do away with the vote, which was originally envisioned as serving the useful purpose (as Popper put it) of deposing rulers without bloodshed; not for voting themselves largesse at minorities' expense.

2.)Political backlash through rising taxation on the rich or through higher corporate taxes or regulation

ZH writers, sponsored bloggers or promoted articles vehemently attack and ridicule any such idea as socialist and FREE SHIT ARMY.

Higher corporate taxes just equal higher prices. COmpanies see tax like any other cost - they pass it on to the consumer. Furthermore, 'progressive' income taxes don't fall upon the plutocrat class, because those people are sheilded by trusts and offshore tax wheezes. Progressive taxes punish the upper middle classes. And exactly why should people who contribute more to society - hence their higher earnings - be obliged to pay a higher percentage of their income? You can argue that some people don't 'earn' their high salaries because they are in protected cartels like banking, but the answer is to eliminate their cartel privileges, not tax them more.

No, there has not been a single article on ZH supporting US workers; any attempt by laborers to raise their wages is countered here with proverbial "so you want to pay $10 for a burger?"

Minimum wages increase unemployment, particularly amongst the lower skilled and minorities. It is impossible to employ a worker unless they can produce more than they cost in wages. Minimum wages thus force the poorly skilled or inexperienced to compete directly with more valuable workers without being able to do so by offering their labour at a lower wage. In other words, employers are forced - by government edict - to choose between them and higher skilled workers. Who do you think they hire?

If you were really au fait with ZeroHedge writings - or had more than a couple of brain cells to rub together - you'd have known all this already, and I could have spent this time more profitably showing up Zionists for the brainwashed racial supremacists that they are.

I actually read many of the articles here on global economy; but I almost never agree with analysis presented and conclusions reached by their writers. The reason why I even bother to read ZH is because I want to know direction that elites are taking us to.

Rhetoric and logical reasoning are two different things. Here, let me help you out:

When I give a detailed explanation of why minimum wages harm the underskilled, that's reasoning.

When you dismiss my logic by saying it's 'pure fiction taught in Economics 100', without even attempting to say why, that's rhetoric.

The fact that you will not (or cannot, most likely) debate by providing counter analysis suggests you have no understanding of the topic.

But that doesn't stop you making strident assertions, does it? So what does that tell us all about you and your (clearly unbacked) beliefs?

INDOCTRINATION.

He is definitely not a student of the Trivium.

One point that you did no cover about Minimum Wage and the reason that Government supports the increase.

While Federal and State Taxes are refunded the other taxes (Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, etc.) are not.

Since these are withheld at percentages of Earnings it increases TAX REVENUE. If I earn $500 per week then, perhaps, 15% of that is withheld. That is $75. If I earn $600 per week, because of an increase of wages then $90 is withheld weekly.

(I am not a "Wage Earner" so I am not up on the exact current percentages. This is for an example of the process.)

That is a very substantial increase.

A vote for an increase for the Minimum Wage is a vote to increase Taxes. Why do you think that Governments even consider this destructive policy?

Now that is not rhetoric. That is logic...something which escapes flysoffree..

Hmmm. Maybe. But does the increase in tax from those who manage to hold onto their jobs exceed the loss of revenue from those who don't?

I'm inclined to believe politicians introduce minimum wage principally because it will bring them votes. Probably a few of them don't know it increases unemployment, most of them don't care, and all of them like having more State dependants.

Some people are capable of searching for all sides of an argument and then, based on the evidence provided, arriving at their own conclusion.

By the way, the term is "confirmation bias". The term "selection bias" is more accurately used in scientific circles as it pertains more specifically to the choosing of elements or results that will most likely provide you with the results you wish the experiment or study to have.

The above article links all its references to propaganda websites, mostly to just one, but also to the communist website, The Nation. The articles make wild, prejudicial claims without references.

The Arab/ Israeli dispute is a confusing issue because of all the lies being told. Let's restate some facts.

1. There never was a Palestinian state. The Levant region of the Turkish Empire was especially impoverished and under populated. We know that from tax records.

The French and the British mishandled the break up of the Turkish Empire after WW1. They created states, like Iraq, which could not last, because they contained so many combative religions: Sunni, Shi'a, Kurd, Christian and Jew. Only a Fascist, secular dictator, like Saddam Hussein, could hold Iraq together.

A tiny portion of the Turkish Empire (less than 2% of the total) was given to the Christians (Lebanon) and to the Jews (all of what is now Israel, plus the West Bank and what is now Jordan, but not Gaza which was given to Egypt.) England, because it favored the Arabs, slowly whittled away at the size of the Jewish territory.

2. There never was a Palestinian people. When the Jews came en mass after 1880, they bought lands from the original owners and from the Turkish government. Before 1880, the population had close to a majority of Jews, mostly in the cities. Many of the Arab residents were living as wandering tribesmen. These tribesmen did not own the lands they used.

3. The Jews created a bountiful land out of the desert. They created jobs where there were none. This caused a labor shortage which drew Arabs from the surrounding territories.

4. Most of the ancestors of the "so called" Palestinians and the Israeli Muslims came from all over the Turkish Empire, but especially from Egypt. Yasser Arafat's parents came from Egypt (Gaza.) This meant that they had no historical rights to create a Palestinian state.

5. The British tried to prevent the migration of European Jews, because they saw that Muslims believed that any territories once conquered by Islam are forever Muslim. Hey! The ISIS of Iraq want to reconquer Andalusia (Spain.)

6. The surrounding Arab states attacked Israel on its formation. None declared peace, except Egypt and later Jordan, so the war goes on. The 1948 ceasefire line is no permanent border, nor are any of the borders later.

7. The surrounding countries were so sure that they would push the Jews into the sea, that they encouraged the Arab residents to flee the battle zones. This created the huge permanent refugee camps because the surrounding countries would not allow them citizenship. The residents of Gaza were not allowed by the Egyptian government to own land. The surrounding countries wanted to keep the so-called Palestinians as cannon fodder.

8. Much of Israel's population are Jews forced from Arab lands all across what was the Turkish Empire. This number of Jewish Refugees is larger (800 thousand) than the Arabs who voluntarily left Israeli territory to escape the fighting in 1947.

9. Israel, after they captured Gaza and the West Bank, would have preferred to relocate the so-called Palestinians, but no Arab country would take them.

10. The Arab/ Israeli dispute will be resolved in three generations, because the Jews are breeding at a higher rate than the so-called Palestinians and equal to surrounding Arab territories. Expect a long fight. The Israeli economy is more robust than that of the EU. Israel can afford to push the Arabs into the sea.

Every country on earth took its lands from other people, so the EU and the Obama administration have no moral high ground. Germany and France have been exchanging Alsace and Lorraine for four wars.

http://pjmedia.com/spengler/2014/02/12/israel-at-a-point-of-no-return-in...

11. Israel's enemies are being marginalized. Hamas, an acknowledged terrorist organization, is using up its supply of Iranian missiles. It's tunnels into Israel will be destroyed.

Hamas places its missile launching stations in populated zones or on the tops of hospitals, schools and apartment buildings. Hamas dares the Israelis to return fire and kill the human shields Hamas has forcibly gathered there. Hamas uses the deaths of these civilians as PR. Hamas does not wear uniforms or accept the Geneva Convention; it considers women and children to be combatants.

http://pjmedia.com/spengler/2014/07/21/why-israel-needs-to-finish-the-jo...

12. The way things are going, a one state solution is in the offing, but not the one which Hamas wants.

you forgot this other "balanced" piece from PJ media:

"All criticism of Israel is antisemitic because antisemitism is form of power and a means to power. And as Foucault (a notable admirer of Israel) might have put it: Power is everywhere, therefore antisemitism is everywhere. It is inescapable. And it is so because of a specific set of historical circumstances that Israel’s opponents have themselves created.

To hold that this is not the case requires acting — and demanding others act — as if these circumstances do not exist, even as they sit as patiently as a pachyderm in the parlor waiting for us to notice them and, sometimes, when our self-willed ignorance grows too infuriating, murder our children and set off bombs in our streets.

Nonetheless, these circumstances are not complex, nor are they numerous. They are simply these:

  • A large portion of the world, West and East, has come to believe that Arabs and Muslims have earned the right to murder Jews.
  • Derived from this right, they have also come to believe that the destruction, dismantling, and erasure of the State of Israel, and the slaughter, expulsion, and/or perpetual subjugation of its Jewish population is entirely legitimate and indeed desirable.
  • Derived from the preceding rights is the belief that the Jewish people in general, in Israel or the Diaspora, either do not exist as a people deserving the same rights as other peoples, or are an evil and debased people who must be slaughtered, expelled, and/or perpetually subjugated in order to prevent them from committing further debased evils."

The word "anti-Semite" is inapplicable to the Arab/ Israeli dispute, because they are both from the same Semitic tribes which came out of Asia from 4000 BC to 400 AD. Look at pictures of both to see their racial similarities. The Ashkenazi Jews of Northern Europe are racially dissimilar, being Khazars, a Turkic people.

Jew hater is the historical phrase which applies both to the European Christians who led the Pogroms, as well as to Muslim Jehadis. A person can be anti-Israeli without being a Jew hater, just a person can be anti-American without being a Caucasian hater. Continental Europeans, Caucasians racially themselves, have been notoriously anti-American from before the American revolution.

Muslims especially deny the right of foreigners to own lands in their conquered territories, even though those lands were paid for to the Turkish government. Worse, they dispute the right of foreigners to form governments in any lands that they have once conquered. Those lands include Spain, France up to the Battle of Tours (50 miles away from Paris), Sicily, half way up Italy, Greece, the Balkans, most of Austria, all of Hungary, the bottom half of Russia and the top half of India.

The Osmanli Turks, who conquered Constantinople, although Muslims, were not as much Jew or Christian haters were the Arabs who had little contact with outsiders. The Muslims along the Silk Road (from Istanbul to India or China) were cosmopolitan traders and were tolerant as merchants usually are. When the Europeans rounded Cape Horn they bypassed the Silk Road to India and China. This allowed back desert fanatics like the Saudi's to supplant the most civilized Muslims.

The Muslims are declining in economics, influence and in population. Except for the Suez Canal built by Europeans for a faster travel to India and the discovery of Oil by Europeans in the Mid East, the Muslim Arabs would be a back desert people much like Afghanistan and the -stans above it.

true, when you keep stealing land, the return is pretty good. Oh, and when you steal 99% of the water, it's not brilliant bounty, more like pirates' booty

Steal? Do you have proof that the Jews stole land or water?

Do Jewish purchases of land from the Turkish Empire count? The Jews from Europe came with money, something that the Muslim inhabitants did not have. Those Muslims may have thought to sell the land and then reconquer it. When the Turkish Empire was dismantled after World War one that plan was sunk.

The water which the Israelis use comes mostly from desalinization. The Jews stealing water was used as an excuse for the Arabs starting the Six Day war in 1967. That 99% figure is false, although the Dead Sea has shrunk greatly from both Jordan and Israel taking water from the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan River.

A good read on the historic origins of 'State of Israel': Balfour and Palestine, a legacy of deceit, by Anthony Nutting http://www.balfourproject.org/balfour-and-palestine/

Generations of Palestinians have felt and experienced the direct consequences of being ripped off by the politicians who engineered the theft of their heritage (plus generational land and olive groves...destroyed), which was replaced with apartheid walls, checkpoints, discrimination, and for many years now the open air prison of Gaza. They are born into it, and have no choice or way out. ANYONE with honour forced to endure that would fight. Like the Jews apparently did in the Warsaw ghetto. I call it the fight for freedom. The hypocrisy and double standards at play here are stunning. That the Israelis are doing as bad or worse to their 'victims', using their own 'victimhood' as justification is far beyond farce. The inhumane and deliberately disproportionate use of lethal force in an urban area is another Israeli atrocity beyond words and comprehension. This is the best that 'God's chosen people' can do? Then time for a very deep rethink, and a redefinition. The world is waking up fast... This short clip by Ry Dawson finds some of the words I can't today:

Israeli Lawmaker calls for Palestinian Genocide   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fKOERN9juM Are the Palestinians not employing the tactics that Irgun used at the inceptin of the 'State of Isreal'?

Who Invented Modern Terrorism? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USuIiugUkIQ&index=39&list=WL

Edit: This short clip by Auschwitz survivor Hajo Meyer on why Jews should not employ the techniques of their Nazi oppressors articulates the essential humanitarian values that MUST triumph if we are to have a chance of surviving the the systemic ecological catastrophe that we as a species have created for ourselves (and that may no longer be possible/probable - methane feedback loop, Fukushima, nuclear waste and DU, stratospheric geo-engineering, ionoshperic heating and manipulation, GMO, nanotech). Traditionally TPTB and those who profit from war and destruction have created or used 'the enemy' to manipulate the public into supporting the invasion/destruction of 'the enemy'. What if the 'the enemy' is us. All of us. Our 'lifestyle' and aspirations for 'material comfort'. We are all the enemy of ourselves unless we wake up and prioritise the survival of the ecosphere which we all need to eat, drink, and breathe (except the descendants of Ray Kurtzweil's 2045 project - Rise of the Cyborgs).

Dear UB, you made some confusing statements, so let me add mine, thank you.

1. There was no Israel either.

2. Confused, are the Jews a religious or ethnic group.

3. Agree, even a Egyptian guy I talked with said the Israelis are good at fixing things.

4. Most of the ancestors of the "so called" Jews and the Israelis came from all over the Europe. This meant that they had no historical rights to create a Israeli state.

5. Zionist believed that any territories once conquered by Zionist are forever Jewish. Hey! The AIPAC of USA want to conquer America.

6. So it's ok to take all the land.

7. "they encouraged the Arab residents to flee the battle zones."

That is just plain underhanded, guess they did not have the knock on roof tech then.

8. So what are all those russkies and yanks with skull caps doing there telling the palis to get the fuck out from west bank since it is historically their?

9. Again very underhanded, the fricking arabs refused contribute to ethnic cleansing so the honourable zionist can take the land.

10. a, The Jewish immigration has nothing to do with it?

b, And WTF is all this "arabs breeding like rabbits" theory so Israel must make sure it is a Jewish State, you really make me confused.

c, So if Israel is pushed to the sea, no biggie, everybody does it.

11. Did  Menachem Begin wear a uniform when he did his terrorism/freedom fighting?

12. The way things are going, a one state solution is in the offing, but not the one which Likud wants.

Sun, 07/27/2014 - 15:55 | 5010279 UrbanBard
UrbanBard's picture

Yes, This issue is confusing. The propaganda is never ending.

1. What I was saying is that neither party has an exclusive right to the Levant. The so called Palestinians do not inherit from the Turks. The British Protectorate and its plans confused things, because the occupying British military were pro Arab.

The Jews had no claim unless you go back before the diaspora in the 2nd century AD. Jews tended to return to the Levant, but they were Turkish subjects, just as the Arab Muslims were. The Turkish Empire did not have a good census, but had fairly good tax records. They showed that most of the taxpayers in the Levant before 1880 were Jews and Christians. The wandering Muslim herders were rarely taxed.

2. The Jews can be considered a religious or racial group. The Muslims cannot because they conquered many people from other racial groups. Although, the Muslims closest to Israel are Semitic.

4. No one has a "right" to conquer anything; they do it anyway. Did the Arabs have a right to conquer the Levant in the Seventh Century? No.

What about the Jew refugees pushed out of previous Turkish lands after 1948? They are a larger number than the so called Palestinian refugees who fled in 1947.

Meanwhile, the Jews are in place in Israel. They have a robust economy. They are unlikely to be pushed into the sea. The surrounding Muslims will not end this fight. I suspect that the Muslims will be badly hurt when the US Dollar ends its role as the world's reserve currency. Neither, the US nor the EU will be able to make payments to the "so called" Palestinians, so they will starve. Add in the lowering of the Arab birth rate and the Muslims will be badly hurt in the coming wars.

5. You are being ridiculous.

6. Did I say that?  I merely stated what the various British and French plans were. Was it fair that the Muslims got 98% of the Turkish Empire and resented that other religions got 2%?

7. Yes, the surrounding Arab armies did encourage refugees to flee and then treated them badly. So what if the Jews wanted them to flee, as well. Did the Jews force them out? No, they begged them to stay.

8. Both Gaza and the West Bank are disputed territories. Sure, Jordan controlled the West Bank after 1948, but never claimed ownership.

9. After WW2, many European countries accepted refugees and made them into citizens. But, the surrounding Muslim countries refused to this. How is this Israel's fault?

10. a. Jewish migration has increased as Muslim countries have forced the Jews out. There was a sizable group from Iraq, recently. Muslim lands are becoming totally free of Jews. The Christians will be next.

b. If you had read the Spengler article, you would know that Israeli fertility rates are up while Muslim rates are declining.

c. Israel gets to push back. The 1948 war was never concluded by treaty except for Egypt and Jordan. All the other countries are fair game.

11. So far as I know, Israel abides by the Geneva Conventions, but the Muslims do not. Suicide bombers are not allowed by the conventions.

12. The war goes on. It's too soon to know who will win. We can make our bets though.

Answer to 2.  The historical Arabs you talk about that didn't 'own the land' were Berbers, nomads, sheep herders (like Abraham, funnily enough-they probably are more related than the current Khazars in Tel Aviv)) .  Travelling on camels , horses.  In times long before Christ .  Last year the Israeli government expropriated tens of thousands of acres from these  roughly 38,000 Bedouins.  Nor more grazing for the camels, sheep, goats and horses.

No compensation of course from the Israeli government.

Let me see if i understand this.

The Bedouins had no rights under the Turkish Empire or the British Protectorate. Right? It was just that they made too few problems and too little income for either Govt. to bother.

Israel, when it was formed in 1948, allowed the Bedouins to use state owned land for 65 years. Right?

Israel then decided that continued use by the Bedouins was an environmental risk, so they progressively restricted it. Right?

The intent was to move these people into the cities where they could find work, just like the Arab Israelis. Right?

What rights of the Bedouins are being disturbed? Would the surrounding Muslim countries allow them to graze? Not likely.

Are you aware that the US Bureau of Land Management is trying to do the same thing in Nevada at the Bundy ranch? Except that the Bundy's have legal contracts with the State of Nevada and the US government is violating federal law.

This is not to defend either government, but times change. The Israeli government allowed the Bedouins a lifestyle for 65 years and warned them repeatedly that this right was ending, so they needed to get jobs in the cities. A lot of Muslims need to join the 21st Century. That's tough, but neither illegal nor immoral.

In other places, such as the Darfur of Sudan, the Janjaweed Arab Muslims, at the behest of the Sudanese government, kill their dark skinned, Muslim nomad men. The government then pushes the women and children into Chad to starve to death.

The Israelis are kinder, they make their nomads get jobs.

We'll leave aside the fact that the Jewish "noblesse oblige" of the old days (the 1950's) warned the "Zionist elements" of the danger of their "pre-occupation" (creation of Israel as the sun quo non of "Jewishness") there is also "the Russian Question" of the war years involved here as well.

Simply put "Americans" (including me) don't know history very well period.

Most of Hitlery and her ilk present such a one sided view of "the two sides of the Final Solution" they really fail...as does this article...to "pierce the veil" so to speak of the Great Crime of both Israel and Russia...marching it would seem "in jackboot" to their respective Third Reich loving oblivion.

Sure...a lot of reality remains to be uncovered here...but not much really insofar as planning and orders given goes.

Americans hate Israel...probably more than the Germans ever did actually. Few people have ever been greater enemies of the USA and I think the theory that "the USA will join along in some Great War of Annihilation" with them is really beyond all reason and understanding. We will hold all those involved in this "hi tech lynching" to account at some point however.

Jew and Gentile both I might add.

That includes all you phucking whores in the media too.

That 'american' propagandist playing the card of ignorance...

If 'America' had known about the Indians, they would have stopped thieving the land.

'Americans' know and prefer to deny knowing. Because denial how they make business is crucial to their operating business.

When you run a business of extorting the weak, farming the poor, you know about the plight of the weak and the poor but you dont care because it is against the business.

The US of A used WW2 to install the basis for global hegemony. An hegemon saved nobody but oneself.
WW2 was the nail that closed the lid on humanity in an 'american' world.

If that is the vision of saving people, better to keep that way of doing for negroes in Haiti. They are a limited population in humanity that 'americans' can exercize to save over and over again.
