The current crisis is clarifying. It helps Israel to know who its enemies are. All the hypocritical hand-ringing by Europe and the UN can be dismissed.
Israel has always been at war. Only Egypt and Jordan have made peace. This means that the next time the Arabs attack, Israel can make territorial gains. It needs those so it can transport the Arabs from Gaza and the West bank out of missile range.
Before you say that is illegal, The Allies after WWII relocated 50 million people, some back to the Soviets they escaped from where they were murdered.
I think that the Israelis are in fairly good shape. Their economy is robust; they can afford an extended war. The Israeli Left are in decline, so there is less obstructionism. Their Orthodox Jews are no longer refusing military service. Israeli birth rates are up while their Arab enemies are declining or steady.
If the so-called Palestinians had any justifications, they wouldn't have elected a terrorist organization, Hamas, to be their leader. Egypt is closing off Hamas's access to weapons. The Israeli imposed embargo will increase, because Hamas used the Portland Cement intended to build infrastructure to build terror tunnels.
Oh dear, here we have the reverse "if you don't like it here, why don't you leave?" logic.

Hamas (and other Islamic extremists) are dedicated to global jihad for all land they consider "Muslim", including Spain, the former Ottoman Caliphate (which includes Greece, Ukraine, S. Russia), and perhaps you local neighborhood.
