GDP Sparks Gold Dump, Stock Pump

Tyler Durden's picture

Bond yields jumped over 4bps on the better than expected GDP print. Stocks popped along with the USD index. Gold was flip-flopped all over the place - an initial dump was followed by a rip back over $1300 only to be sold back down to $1295 now... Equity exuberance is fading back a little now as machines 'read' the anti-goldilocks ADP print and inventory-stuffed Fed-hawk-supporting GDP print as indicative of a punch bowl that just got dragged away a little more...

Well if the economy is really doing so well, then the American government should have no problem paying higher interest rates.

In chaos there is always opportunity.

I forget who said that.  Whether it was Lloyd Blankfen or Jamie Dimon.

No, it doesn't. Commodities don't move in any correlation to the dollar index which is pegged to a weighted (non-changing) sum of other currencies inverse to the dollar.

Which is useless.

strong dollar, by what measure? You know DXY measures only a fixed weighted average against other fiat, not against gold, silver, energy or essential goods, right?
What kind of measure is that? Nonsense is what it is.

Why do you keep saying "print"?  Are really that old that you still use a ticker tape machine, or are you just trying to sound all smarty-pants?

The Chinese and Russians only want to pay 1300 dollars per ounce for their gold, so the FED and the government have to make sure no speculators drive that price up.

wow all three months news has been bad bad bad and a 4 percent GDP only 1word comes to mind BULLSHIT well really two words but if they can write what they want so can I. I guess next is the black swanning false flag that Putin took a crap and effected our rosy recovery and we will have to spend trillions to wipe his ass so much for the recovery! then they will revise the GDP that it was really -5.3 GDP so we needed to spend it anyway. Unbelievable
