A few linguistic friends have now analyzed the similarity of the wording of the Daroff tweet vs the revised AP tweet. For example, his use of the word 'lawmakers' gives this away since it was not in the original AP tweet, but was in the Daroff tweet 5 minutes later, and then miraculously appeared in the revised AP tweet.

I agree. Ron is the only politician I have ever given money to. I can tell you why rand changed his position on this. Rand, like Ron did, wants to be president. The difference is that Ron refused to change his position based on the prevailing public opinion, or what was demanded by the party. Many surveys in 08 and 12 found that while many people agreed 100% with him on domestic, monetary, fiscal policy, etc, he lost a huge chunk of republicans on the foreign policy issues. Many advisors and others urged him to soften his stance to appeal to a wider range of people, but he refused, which is why I like him so much. I still wear my 'end the fed' shirt all the time,( mostly just cuz the weird looks I sometimes get amuse me). But rand is more like your average politician, he will bend to the will of those around him, and the party bosses because he knows he won't get through the nomination without them. Unlike his dad, he WILL compromise his principles. I highly doubt he actually agrees with this Israel aid bill, not that he agrees with what isreal is doing right now, based on the environment he was raised in as his fathers son.
