Eye of Horus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article is about the ancient Egyptian symbol. For the video game, see Eye of Horus (video game).

The Wedjat, later called The Eye of Horus

An Eye of Horus or Wedjat pendant
The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health. The eye is personified in the goddess Wadjet (also written as Wedjat,[1][2][3] or "Udjat",[4] Uadjet, Wedjoyet, Edjo or Uto[5]). It is also known as ''The Eye of Ra''.[6]

The name Wadjet is derived from "wadj" meaning "green", hence "the green one", and was known to the Greeks and Romans as "uraeus" from the Egyptian "iaret" meaning "risen one" from the image of a cobra rising up in protection.[7] Wadjet was one of the earliest of Egyptian deities who later became associated with other goddesses such as Bast, Sekhmet, Mut, and Hathor. She was the tutelary deity of Lower Egypt and the major Delta shrine the "per-nu" was under her protection.[7] Hathor is also depicted with this eye.[8]

Funerary amulets were often made in the shape of the Eye of Horus. The Wadjet or Eye of Horus is "the central element" of seven "gold, faience, carnelian and lapis lazuli" bracelets found on the mummy of Shoshenq II.[3] The Wedjat "was intended to protect the pharaoh [here] in the afterlife"[3] and to ward off evil. Ancient Egyptian and Near Eastern sailors would frequently paint the symbol on the bow of their vessel to ensure safe sea travel.[9]
.
Horus[edit]
Horus was the ancient Egyptian sky god who was usually depicted as a falcon, most likely a lanner or peregrine falcon.[10] His right eye was associated with the sun god, Ra. The eye symbol represents the marking around the eye of the falcon, including the "teardrop" marking sometimes found below the eye. The mirror image, or left eye, sometimes represented the moon and the god Djehuti (Thoth).[11]

wedjet – Eye of Horus
in hieroglyphs
In one myth, when Set and Horus were fighting for the throne after Osiris's death, Set gouged out Horus's left eye. The majority of the eye was restored by either Hathor or Thoth (with the last portion possibly being supplied magically). When Horus's eye was recovered, he offered it to his father, Osiris, in hopes of restoring his life. Hence, the eye of Horus was often used to symbolise sacrifice, healing, restoration, and protection " ..... wiki

Today, August 6th

On this day in 1945, at 8:16 a.m. Japanese time, an American B-29 bomber, the Enola Gay, drops the world's first atom bomb, over the city of Hiroshima. Approximately 80,000 people are killed as a direct result of the blast, and another 35,000 are injured. At least another 60,000 would be dead by the end of the year from the effects of the fallout.

We are truly blessed to live in these times of the Peace Dividend that Bush the elder helped share with us.

Though, I guess this NWO that Bush the elder also helped share with us ate up all the Dividends, much of what freedom we had, most of our sovereignty, and what plowshares we had were sold for scrap to make drones, spy and weaponized satellites, etc.

At today's prices, $1 Trillion would buy about 10 billion barrels of oil. This is about 6 years of production of the Ghawar Field in Saudi Arabia.  And considering that the cost of our foreign follies is in the 3-4 trillion $ range, we could have about 25 years of production of the largest oil field in the world.  Instead, after 10+ years we've got quite a few dead and wounded soldiers who would be hard pressed to produce a single drop of oil, let alone 40 billion barrels.  Ah, the wisdom of our leaders...I wonder what General Greene was thinking yesterday as his blood was draining out?  Probably, "I can't believe I've lost my life over this shithole."  After 10+ years and billions and billions of dollars and thousands of lost and ruined lives, we can't even protect a general, yet the pundits just say, "Well, the cake needs to stay in the oven a little longer" - who in their right mind would listen to those assholes?

Yet, all they have to do is wave the flag, play the star-spangled banner and say we have to fight for freedom and the shit show plays on....Oh, fuck me...

There seems to be a choice at hand, statist nationalism or statist new world order single centralized government. Freedom does not appear to be a current available choice. The threat of diseases like Ebola and economic ruin of our corrupt economy could be the unifying force used to rationalize the "coming together" in common defense to create a centrally run government while still faking national sovereignty, much as we now fake state's rights in America. Tell us how free we are in our newly guilded cage.

To be anti-new world order makes you an enemy of the liberal state; one of the "rebellious sheeple" who hasn't been dumbed-down sufficiently by the voices of liberalism. EVERY american has a patriotic duty to be anti-new world order. The integrity of our country depends upon it. Run-away ultra-liberalism is ultra self-destructive and must be fought and defeated if we are to survive as a nation.

"We must never despair; our situation has been compromising before; and it changed for the better; so I trust it will again. If difficulties arise, we must put forth new exertion and proportion our efforts to the exigencies of the times,"   George Washington

Reminds me when my brother said to me "I can see a world government coming up by consent".  I asked him, "and all the sovereign nations are going to give up their sovereignty to who exactly?"  Then he sort of realized, yep we are going to war.

But will we go to war? I think we are seeing in this country as well as many others a complete disillusionment with governments going to war. Cynicism is at an all time high. While I support much of the cynicism I also wonder how much of this plays into the hands of the new world order. Will we watch while our economies are sucked dry, finding ourselves seeking a messiah on high who offers to save us. I look at how Obama was elected and I think this idea is what got him elected. When we see a word leadership that offers a unified monetary system and a theoretical end of all wars, how many will abandon any vestiges of nationalism to climb on board? Like Ebola, hemorrhaging from within and bleeding from the ass, will we accept the experimental serum?

Check this out, from the wikipedia article on the movie Contagion, by Soderbergh:

"At the CDC, Dr. Ally Hextall (Jennifer Ehle) finds that the virus is a mix of genetic material from pig and bat viruses."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contagion_%28film%29

And, from the wikipedia article on ebola itself, two sentences:

"The virus may be acquired upon contact with blood or bodily fluids of an infected animal (commonly monkeys or fruit bats)."

"Prevention includes decreasing the spread of disease from infected monkeys and pigs to humans."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebola_virus_disease

Yeah, I know, just another coincidence.

exceptional, too over the head for 90% of Americans.

Has anyone figured out what the one eye means, I assume it means we are being watched/controlled by some thing/group.  Egypt had the eye of horus/ra, was that a reference to the sun.  Somehow the entertainment/PTB adopted it.  And then the pyramid, somehow that must mean order or power.  Disney sure seems to love the eye/pyramid combo.

That is the Eye of Providence which generally symbolizes an Omniscient Diety that watches over all. It has been used in many forms as a symbol through out history. There are many theories about whether it signifies the influence of Free Masons and the Illuminati.

To me the eye has always been a Buddhisticon, but in this context it symbolizes the US Dollar Hegemon.

With all the capital destruction owing to the " collapse", .gov and the not Federal Fed needed some way to funnel Benny Bucks into the system to keep the game going.
Now, when your looking for the way to spend MASSIVE quantities of cash( for our own good, don't forget), what better client than the Military Industrial Complex?
I mean " shovel ready" my ass. The biggest civil projects we have couldn't piss away and soak up that cash. And the right folks ( to borrow a term), wouldn't be at the receiving end. That last phrase has many meanings.
We had the WPA in the thirties, and got some real good stuff out of that. Dams, Skyline Drive, rural electric, etc. But the War, now that got the party started.

glad I asked the quesion, it does seem like a coat of arms for the usd power.

also thanks for pointing this song out - lyrics for Alan Parsons Eye In the Sky

Don't think sorry's easily said
Don't try turning tables instead
You've taken lots of chances before
But I ain't gonna give any more
Don't ask me
That's how it goes
'Cause part of me knows what you're thinking...
Don't say words you're gonna regret
Don't let the fire rush to your head
I've heard the accusaation before
And I ain't gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing

[CHORUS]
I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more
To know that I can read your mind, I can read your mind

Don't leave false illusions behind
Don't cry 'cause I ain't changing my mind
So find another fool like before
'Cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing
Some of the lies while all of the signs are deceiving

To me, in expressive display, the eye represents perspective. Perspective can not be overstated, and is one of the most influential guides to which mankind abides.

Of course modern day "symbolism" has become grossly disfigured, or perhaps it always was, as when a symbol is used to distract as opposed to communicate the significance is lost.

As for pyramids, well, that's another matter of perspective isn't it?
