US Army General Killed In Kabul Officers Academy Attack

Tyler Durden's picture

A two-star US General has been killed in Afghanistan, according to ABC News, which appears to be the highest-ranked US officer KIA since The Vietnam War. The attack took place in the relative safety of the officers academy at Camp Qargha, Kabul, when a gunman wearing an Afghan army uniform apparently turned his weapon against Americans and other Afghans. In addition to the US general's death, a German brigadier general was injured along with 15 other ISAF personnel. Afghan President Karzai said the attack was "an act by the enemies who don’t want to see Afghanistan have strong institutions."

As ABC reports,

The Pentagon confirmed to ABC News today that in addition to one fatality, 15 International Security Assistance Force personnel were injured. Karzai said that both Afghan and foreign soldiers were hurt.

Gen. Mohammmad Zahir Azimi, a spokesman for Afghanistan's Defense Ministry, tweeted in Dari that the gunman was wearing an Afghan military uniform and was shot dead after opening fire on Afghan and international colleagues.

The soldiers were visiting the military academy to help with the buildup of Afghan security forces, Karzai said. He blamed the attack on "enemies who don't want to see Afghanistan have strong institutions."

Qargha, which is overseen by the British military, is sometimes called "Sandhurst in the sand" - a reference to the British military's own officers' training school.

"We are in the process of assessing the situation," the ISAF Joint Command said in a statement. "More information will be released as we sort out the facts."

*  *  *

Sadly, NBC News reports, officials said the death toll is expected to rise given the severity of troops’ injuries.

*  *  *

Perhaps it is not yet time to turn the page on war in Afghanistan, Mr.President.

If the morons make the decision to go to war, then fight a war with all it's ugliness. Fighting a PC pretend war only stretches the amount of casualties on both sides. War is not pretty no matter what skirt you try to put on it, it is ugly for a reason.

Without the industrial complex America would be in a totally different situation.

Like 2 steps lower than Argentinia.

So it's not the place that matters but the act of war that keeps the machine turning.

And yes, people die in wars. It's not a Disney movie... unless you mean Old Yeller... that movie also doesn't end well either...

Since NATO began its ‘War on Terror’ in 2001, heroin production in Afghanistan has increased 40-fold, according to the head of Russia’s Federal Drug Control Service. “Afghan heroin has killed more than 1 million people worldwide since ‘Operation Enduring Freedom’ began, and over $1 trillion has been invested in transnational organized crime from drug sales,” Viktor Ivanov said earlier at a conference on the Afghan drug problem in 2013.

AIPAC was founded in 1951 so it is a bit longer than 20 years.

http://www.antiwar.com/orig/gsmith.php?articleid=11727

Testimony would also reveal a direct connection between the nascent lobby and a little-known Israeli false-flag terror attack against the United States in Egypt. One board member of the Jewish Agency responsible for "colonization" in Israel and financing the startup of Israel's lobby in America was instrumental in engineering a cover-up of the terror bombing campaign codenamed "Operation Susannah."

Senator Fulbright: The Jewish Agency-American Section, Inc., is, I understand, a New York membership corporation organized in 1960?

Mr. Hamlin: It is, sir.

Senator Fulbright: And since 1960 it has been registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938, as amended, as an agent of the Executive of the Jewish Agency for Israel in Jerusalem?

Mr. Hamlin: Mr. Chairman, would you just repeat the date when that filing took place?

Senator Fulbright: 1960.

Mr. Hamlin: 1960: that is correct.

Senator Fulbright: The relationship between the Executive and the American Section, is this contractual or not?

Mr. Hamlin: The American Section is part of the worldwide body called the Jewish Agency Executive. The Jewish Agency Executive is composed of 22 individuals, of which 6 reside in the United States, and so the American Section is part of the worldwide organization.

Mr. Boukstein: May I be of some assistance, Mr. Chairman?

Senator Fulbright: Yes.

Mr. Boukstein: The Executive, as was stated this morning, the Executive of the Jewish Agency is in Jerusalem: the American Section is exactly what it connotes. It is the American Section of the Executive which resides in the United States and functions for and on behalf of the Executive in Jerusalem.

Senator Fulbright: I was trying to clarify the record precisely what the word "Executive" means here. Does it mean the Executive committee of the Jewish Agency?

Mr. Boukstein: It is – do you want me to answer or the witness?

Senator Fulbright: The witness can answer.

Mr. Hamlin: It is in essence the Executive committee.

Senator Fulbright: Of the Jewish Agency?

Mr. Hamlin: Of the Jewish Agency; that is right.

Senator Fulbright: And it is composed of 22 people?

Mr. Hamlin: Pardon me?

Senator Fulbright: Of 22 people?

Mr. Hamlin: Of 22 individuals; yes sir.

Senator Fulbright: And six of those live in the United States?

Mr. Hamlin: Correct, sir.

Senator Fulbright: So that leaves 16 of them who live in Israel?

Mr. Hamlin: That is right, sir.

Senator Fulbright: Now are there any other members? Is this the whole body? Is there a board of directors other than the Executive?

Mr. Hamlin: No, sir. That is the governing body of the Jewish Agency, the total body.

Senator Fulbright: It is a corporation?

Mr. Hamlin: Yes.

Senator Fulbright: Does it have any stockholders?

Mr. Hamlin: No, not to my knowledge.

Senator Fulbright: It is incorporated by a special act of the Government of Israel, is that correct?

Mr. Hamlin: The Jewish Agency, yes, was recognized by special act of the Israeli Parliament.

Senator Fulbright: Are any members of the Executive living in Israel members of the Government?

Mr. Hamlin: Members of our Executive are members of the Government of Israel? Yes, sir.

Senator Fulbright: Who are they?

Mr. Hamlin: One member of our executive, Mr. Eshkol, is a member of the Israeli Government.

Senator Fulbright: What is his position in the Israeli Government?

Hamlin: He is the Minister of Finance. But, if I may add, in the Executive he has competence in one area of work, and that is the area of colonization.

Mr. Boukstein: If I may add, a member of the Executive, Mr. Shazar, was the day before yesterday elected the President of Israel, as you probably noticed in the newspapers.

Senator Fulbright: Does this disqualify him to be a member of the Executive?

Mr. Hamlin: Yes, it would disqualify him.

Senator Fulbright: Could you describe how the Executive – the relationship between the Executive and the American Section, how does the Executive, in other words, exercise control, if it does, over the American Section.

Mr. Hamlin: The American Section is the representative in the United States of the Jerusalem Agency – did you say exercise control, sir?

Senator Fulbright: If it does; yes. Does it exercise control?

Mr. Hamlin: I would say that in the final analysis there would be a vote of all 22 members.

Senator Fulbright: Yes.

Mr. Hamlin: On an issue which might bind them.

Senator Fulbright: Yes.

Mr. Hamlin: But if my experience would indicate anything, I would say that in matters that deal with American affairs, such as we have, the Jerusalem Executive more or less depends on the opinions of their members residing in the United States.

Senator Fulbright: Does this organization have a set of bylaws?

Mr. Hamlin: Yes.

And to think it ALL started about

20 years ago, right here in America.

"Conclusion: Based on my experience in weapons development and bomb damage analysis, and on my review of all evidence available, I can say, with a high level of confidence, that the damage pattern on the reinforced concrete superstructure could not possibly have been attained from the single truck bomb. The total incompatibility of this pattern of destruction with a single truck bomb lies in the simple, incontrovertible fact that some of the columns collapsed that should not have collapsed if the damage were caused solely by a truck bomb, and, conversely, some of the columns were left standing that should have collapsed if the damage had been caused solely by the truck bomb.

"It is my hope and request that, as a Member of Congress, you will support a Congressional investigation to determine the true initiators of this bombing, which could not have occurred the way in which it has been portrayed as having happened. Further, it is requested that you defer action and reserve judgment on socalled antiterrorism legislation that has serious civil liberties implications, and which would not be passed except for the Oklahoma City bombing until the causes of the Oklahoma City disaster are determined by independent investigators."

Thank you forever, General Bentin Partin

Russia may ban European carriers from its airspace - eTurboNews.com

Russian officials are considering restricting or even completely prohibiting transit flights by the European carriers, en route from Europe to Asia, through Russian airspace.

According to the source, talks about the possible limitation of transit for European airlines had began shortly after the first EU sanctions against Russia went into effect. The situation worsened after Russian low-cost "Dobrolet" was forced to halt operations, and Ukraine has imposed heavy fines on Russian airlines flying to Crimea, recently annexed by Russia.

Damned straight.   It's too bad more of the armchair-warrior Generals don't get wacked, rather than the young enlisted soldiers they are so quick to put in harm's way with all of their behind-the-front line "strategerizing".   If more fuggin' Generals did get wacked, maybe the Washington Neocons, the MIC,  and their Pentagon implementors wouldn't be so hell bent on invading and occupying other countries.

Come to think of it, when was the last time an American General actually served on the front line leading his troops into battle?   Probably the Civil War.

For those you who say "George Patton" was a great warrior General who led his troops into battle.  I had an uncle who served as a grunt in Patton's Third army in Europe and he told me that Patton was a closet homo who always showed up after the fighting was over, all decked out in his fancy General threads, mugging for the cameras.

Gimmee a break...  You must have learned your WW2 history from American junior high school books, the History Channel,  and Hollyweird movies (e.g. "Patton", starring George C. Scott).   As a 30'ish American ex-pat, I lived in the Netherlands for nearly 6 years during the early-mid 90's and heard, for the first time, a very different version of Patton's supposed triumphs as well as the USA's contribution to the war.  Most of the older knowledgable Dutch and Germans I worked with, some of whom had lived through the war as children and teenagers, considered Patton to be a generic American buffoon and a Hollyweird creation.

By the time the USA and Patton invaded Italy in late September 1943, the Red Army had already defeated the Nazis at Stalingrad (battle ended in February 1943) and had them on the run.  The Eastern front at the time occupied ~75% of the Nazi forces.  Indeed, most objective serious war historians consider the Battle of Stalingrad to have been the turning point of the war.   At the same time as Stalingrad, on the western "front", the privaleged upper class Nazis maintained a token presence with many them more busy drinking wine and banging hot French / Italian chicks, than fighting.  These are the lame Nazis' azzzes that Patton was supposedly kicking, while General Zhukov was fighting the "real" Nazi army on the Eastern Front and really kicking serious azzz .

Despite what you may have "learned" from watching silly Hollyweird WW2 movies (e.g. "Saving Private Ryan"), by the time D-Day happened in June of 1944, the Nazis were in full retreat and pretty much whipped.   The Americans and the Brits purposely waited for the Red Army to do the dirty work  and carry the brunt of the war before they did jack shit.  In fact,  Stalin had been begging the USA and Brits to open a western front for a couple of years, but Roosevelt and Churchhill decided to wait let the Nazis and Commies waste each other.

Patton rode tanks into The Bonus Army.

At 4:45 p.m., commanded by Gen. Douglas MacArthur, the 12th Infantry Regiment, Fort Howard, Maryland, and the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, supported by six battle tanks commanded by Maj. George S. Patton, formed in Pennsylvania Avenue while thousands of civil service employees left work to line the street and watch. The Bonus Marchers, believing the troops were marching in their honor, cheered the troops until Patton ordered[citation needed] the cavalry to charge them—an action which prompted the spectators to yell, "Shame! Shame!"

I want to thank Obama for recognizing the contributions of Muslims to the West

Here are a few

http://americanthinker.com/blog/2014/08/muslim_contributions_to_america_and_the_world.html

— benefits that have been chirped about ad nauseum by Barack Obama for years. But since this, like all his other promises, has been left dangling, I have decided to compile my own list for you and take the pressure off his wearied brow that best serves America on the links. I assure you that this list is far less than exhaustive:

1. Hummus. I hate hummus.

2. Design modifications to the Twin Towers.

3. IEDs

4. Significantly increased congenital defects from first cousin marriage.

5. Did I say hummus? I really do hate Hummus.

6. Fear and loathing.

7. Lowered prices for goat meat during End of Ramadan sales.

8. Haggling.

9. God ordained dhimmitude.

10. Cities that celebrate the exotic odor of feces.

11. God ordained cruelty to women and a legal pass to murder those female family members that bruise fragile male pride.

12. Bromhidrosis elevated to an art form.

13. Increased U.S. pork and munitions sales.

14. Global war and strife.

15. Boko Haram, Hamas, Hizb'allah, Islami Jihad, Twelvers, ISIS, The Palestinian Authority, the Muslim Brotherhood, The Taliban, Yasser Arafat, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Ayatollah Khomeini, Gaza, Casey Kasem.

16. Astronomical petroleum prices for what amounts to the fluid remains of dead dinosaurs.

17. The flowering religion of peace.

18. Refinement in the technology of human shields using toddlers and the aged.

19. The Death Penalty mandated for matters of conscience.

20. Refinements in the fields of anti-Semitism, religious hypocrisy, and proper child care.

21. Did I neglect hummus? It really makes me gag…….

22. Barack Hussein Obama
