Russian Defense Minister Tells Troops "To Be In State Of Constant Battle Readiness"

Tyler Durden's picture

Having discussed his view that the Ukraine government is at fault for worsening the conflict, Russia's Putin explained to Angela Merkel that a "rising civilian toll has created a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine." However, it was Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu's comments that "the world has changed and changed dramatically," demanding that his troops "must be in constant combat readiness," are the most disconcerting as his strong tone in the following clip appears to confirm Poland and NATO's fears.

Putin's conversation with Merkel...

Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke by phone, exchanged views on “intensifying crisis situation” in Ukraine, Kremlin says in e-mailed statement.

Putin says “real political dialogue” needed between authorities in Kiev and representatives of rebels

Offensive by Ukrainian forces in southeast leads to mounting civilian toll, humanitarian problems: Putin

Shoigu starts talking (in Russian) at around 30 second mark, clip includes coverage of the military drills that are under way...

Excerpted Transcript (via NTV),

Sergey Shoigu, Russia's Defense Minister said that "Peacekeeping units should be in a state of constant battle readiness."

He added: "The world has changed, and has changed dramatically. As you know from previous examples, including in the brigade, peacekeeping units can be activated without warning."

After checking the 15th motorized rifle brigade of peacekeeping forces, the defense minister said that now all peacekeeping brigades are staffed exclusively by contractors, reported "Interfax".

Meanwhile, the humanitarian crisis in eastern Ukraine is getting worse by the day. Today the problems of those who are located in the eastern Ukraine zone where the Ukrainian army has been dispatched was discussed at an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.

According to recent reports, the casualties of the conflict now amount to 1,400 people, with more than four thousand injured. In addition, about 300,000 people have fled their homes.

"Prepare for the unexpected," Shoigu concludes...

As a product of American Affirmative Action prepares to face off against a product of the KGB over the Petrol Dollar and American hegemony, young Russian soldiers prepare to load a T-72 tank at the Ostryakovo railway station near Simferopol, Crimea, and a Latino-American public transportation driver prepares to load a young quarter-ton African-American Social Security disability insurance patient in front of a medical office building in Houston, Texas.

"...his strong tone in the following clip appears to confirm Poland and NATO's fears."

WTF?? It's the other way around. NATO creates feras and keeps provoking Russia and once russia responds with a tad harder voice it gets immediately sold as "we told you so - the 'evil' Russians want to go to war". It's a shame that such cheap propaganda stuff gets published here at zh. Do you think your readers here are all full retards?

Russians are so nice guys, they are giving warnings, now Shoigu said:

"We are prepared for the hot phase of WWIII. Are you prepared too?"

The entire situation can be loosely interpreted as:

"Back off and let the US$ (US imperium) die peacefully, or we will have the thermonucleary hot phase of the WWIII."

Please note: sooner or later the hot part of WWIII will escalate into a thermonuclear war, if the US gov don't back off.

And if you happen to find yourself fighting any sort of main battle tank in the future, it might be useful to know how the treads and tracks on MBTs are put together, since any tank basically immobile without them, and they can be removed with a simple breaker-bar (big-ass-socket-wrench).

WARNING: Use of hand tools is dangerous, do not use hand tools while vehicle is running. If emergency braking is required while vehicle is in motion please contact the nearest explosive/demolition expert for an explosive device suitable for removing large size hardened steel bolts from a moving vehicle.

Are we still of any use? What we shall need is not geniuses, or cynics, or misanthropes, or clever tacticians, but plain, honest, and straightforward men. This is Yahoo-level commentary on your part, and I think you can do better. You read ZH, so it's safe to assume you're smarter than most people. It also means you know exactly how this whole thing in Ukraine started, and that those facts can be confirmed on any number of other web sites just in case you feel ZH has become biased with regard to the truth.

It's possible that you miss the glory days of the Cold War when the US had a clear-cut adversary and life was "simpler," or maybe you simply hate all Russians because some dude named Ivan used to shag your mom, but don't let your judgment be clouded by emotion. That's what the assholes who want war are counting on.

I disagree that reading ZH makes one smarter than most.

The vast majority of the "critical thinkers" here seem to think that if the US is wrong then Russia must be right.

This idiotic team mentality is best suited for football, and sadly that's what ZH has become - a bunch of sports fans.

Both countries are are run by fucking scum, and the Ukrainians are paying the price.

It's ironic that you follow up your retort about Yahoo level commentary with a "mom" joke. I'm sure you can do better than that, being a ZH reader and all.

+1 That was more incisive, so thank you.

I wouldn't want to live in Russia, but I am increasingly embarrassed to live in the United States. Some people on ZH might be Putin ass-kissers, but I'm not one of them. I simply observe the facts. And last I checked, Russia isn't the one shelling towns and killing civilians in east Ukraine. So on that point, I've concluded Russia is a bit more "right" in this instance than the Kiev puppet government.

(And please don't bring up MH17. We still don't know where the ATC recordings are, which is odd to say the least.)

p.s. Yahoo commentators stick to gay jokes because they're too stupid for mom jokes. Seriously, go read the comments over there sometime. Then weep for humanity.

Ple pardon my intervening. 200k Russians had been living in Chechnya long before the Chechen wars. By the time the first Chechen campaign erupted the share of Russians diminished drastically due to hostility on behalf of "freedom loving" radical islam driven separatists. How this hostility materialized can be found on youtube: tortures, live decapitations and other executions. Common Chechens were appalled with that themselves. Besides, before this campaign there had been several Chechen terrorist attacks on the Russian territory. I wonder what you would have done considering the circumstances? Let the thugs go unpunished or defend the state and its peoples? Do the Ukrainian rebels commit similar crimes? Who shells residential areas indiscriminately there? Who uses fosfor containing munition?... Comparing freedom fighters requires to consider events in their evolution and entirety, doesn't it.

I disagree that VVP is a hypocrite in supporting autonomy for the East Ukrainians and opposing it for the Chechens.

After the 1st Chechen war, Yeltsin granted Chechnya virtually complete autonomy within the RF.  The ruling coalition of (secular) Chechen nationalists and Islamists was wracked by endless acrimony.  The secular head of the government (Aslan Maskhadov) sought to appease his Islamist coalition partners by appointinh the Islamic extremist (and terrorist) Shamil Basaev to the post of vice premier.  The radicals pushed through a sharia law regime, which did not go over well in Moscow, which had no intention of having parallel legal sysetms on the soil of the RF.

After the 2nd Chechen war, Russia, by then under V. V,. Putin, organized a referendum on a new consitution for Chechnya granting it autonomy within the RF.  Although there were no Western observers in the field, the Arab League and the Islamic Conference declared the vote "democratic and free."

It should be noted that General Dudaev, the secular, nationalist Chechen leader at the time of the 1st Chechen war opposed separatism for Chechnya, a land surrounded on all sides by the RF.  Dudaev believed an independent Chechnya would not begin to be a viable state.

Keep in mind that in Eastern Ukraine, V. V. Putin urged locals not to hold the referendum of last May 11th.  Once the vote happened the RF said it "respected" the result, but did not say it recognized it.  Russia said the same thing about Proshenko's election.

These matters are complex and do not lend themselves to facile comparisons. And there is another dimension to all this: of all of the USA's activism in the world since the end of the Cold War, the US has always targeted Russian friends and clients: Serbia, Iraq, Libya, Syria, now Ukraine.  VVP said when he became president: "We Russians will not serve as cannon fodder for the New World Order."  That's why he's drawn a line in Ukraine. If he can hold the line, it could presage the unravelling of the US Empire; if not, he could presage the destruction of Russia.

Wed, 08/06/2014 - 21:29 | 5056923 SofaPapa
SofaPapa's picture

Here's the difference.  When Russia behaves badly, we will hear about that on the MSM.  So people in the US know what's going on there is criminal.  What Kiev is doing to its separatists, however, is being blatantly misrepresented in the US.  To be pro-Putin is an over-reaction, but to accept the in-your-face imperial actions of the western powers in Ukraine (remember Joe Biden's son) is inexcusable.

He says if he does win the war with the bankers, the first thing he is going to do is send all of its readers to the Gulag where they will be carefully looked after by Obama and Hillary. Oh and he says he will "literally do to the consititution, what our leaders have figuratively done to it for the last couple of decades (I think he means toliet paper?)"

I was pretty shocked until he said "JK, JK silly hobo" in that burly Russian accent.

you can be sure of Kiev's fuckery as to civilians in Eastern Ukraine by dint of the complete lack of coverage of Kiev's mercenary-spined ops in that region.

The media is so controlled, such propaganda, it is fucking laughable that anyone not adhering to the neocon talking points is scorned as being "paid by Putin" - as if "Fuck the EU" Nuland's chat with Pyatt, a guy who spent nearly all of his time as ambassador to Ukraine meeting with members of a community comprisng less than 1% of it, didn't establish who was meddling. articles made it here and like global research - ended up being a good counterweight to the mostly shit appearing on CNN and the NYT.

Best thing that could happen for the Ukrainians would be more defections from the regular army, the kill/capture of some foreign mercs, and clarification that the eastern self-declareds want independence, per se, not to join Russia...  bring ethnic Ukrainian and Polish Russian speakers and others into the fold, make it about Kiev being the puppet of Uncle Scam...  a narrative which enjoys the benefits attendant to the truth....

The fucking oligarchs, if this does go hot, which I doubt, would not be safe, I would imagine.

sadly, this question was removed by zioyahoo before someone could provide both facts and context rounding out the correct answer which is "sorta".

Was the 2014 revolution in Ukraine Jewish?

international Jewry has long been dissatisfied with Russia's determination to remain aloof from its New World Order scheme. In 2013, the Zionists instructed the US government to recruit a Ukrainian mercenary group called "Right Sector" and provide it with equipment and funding.

In February 2014, Right Sector carried out a number of "false flag" sniper attacks on civilians and on police, with the intention that a security force retained by the Ukrainian government would receive the blame. Forensics later proved that Right Sector did the sniping itself.

The violence escalated, and eventually the legitimate, elected government of Ukraine was toppled, causing its president Viktor Yanukovich to flee from Kiev.

Within a few weeks, Ukraine had a new prime minister, Arseniy Petrovych Yatsenyuk, and the districts of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk acquired new governors: Igor Kolomoisky and Serhiy Taruta, respectively. All three of these men are Jews. As the result of the dissolution of his coalition government Yatsenyuk will resign. But his successor will be Volodymyr Borysovych, who is also Jewish.

Ukraine's population is only 0.002 fraction Jewish. That's 0.2%, or 1 Jew for each 500 residents. So why are all of these Jews popping up like weeds in Ukraine's top administrative offices? Why aren't they Ukrainians, instead?
Pay no mind.  If someone alerts you that some question or discussion or other is "hate" - particularly with regard to "Semites" - it is best to simply assume that there is zero merit to the inquiry, and to pursue it is mere crimethink
What is truth? said jesting Pilate, and would not stay for an answer.

trivia - the prior head of the Ukrainian National Bank, Ihor Sorkin, is...wait for it....  Jewish. I don't know if his successor, Stepan Kubiv is as well, but why do you think he would, a banker, end up on the

National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine?

I put it to you to consider why an office was set up in the Pentagon before the Iraq war by Jewish neocons and *staffed* almost exclusively with same - men who had no military or intelligence experience at all, but who had deep connections to Israel/Likud, and Mossad.

Just because a theory is paranoid doesn't mean it's entirely wrong...

Sanctions are a two way street and both directions lead to war the longer they go on. At some point Putin will get aid to the so called rebels. If nothing else he will position Russian troops in such a way so as to provide protection to the rebel areas. But while Kiev crumbles he is more likely to. Bide his time.

The one thing I love saying to the blacks in this Country who still worship him, especially the ones who are as dumb as "pig shit" who adore Chris Rock is that Barack Obama is "whiter than George Bush"...  With his tenure as President you certainly would never know G.W. left?

I have this theory that Barbara Bush had a love child that wound up in a glass jar on her way to the hospital that George Jr. talks about in his memoirs... Being married to a pedophile as a married woman with children can be a real drag after awhile and I think she found a black man who could -do right by her!
