US Begins Dropping Humanitarian Supplies In Iraq, It May Also be Dropping Bombs
While we await the latest nationally televized appearance of the teleprompter telling Obama just what the US is doing in Iraq at some point over the next 60 minutes, there are conflicting reports about what may or may not be happening in Iraq right now. On one hand there appears to be confirmation that the US has begun airdropping humanitarian supplies to the thousands trapped in the Iraqi mountains, as we earlier reported would likely happen. On the other hand, the NYT also blasted that the US is now also bombing ISIS targets in Iraq.
Breaking News: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq
http://t.co/AZJZzSX1TY
— The New York Times (@nytimes) August 7, 2014
.... Something which the Pentagon quickly denied.
Press reports that US has conducted airstrikes in Iraq completely false. No such action taken.
— Rear Adm. John Kirby (@PentagonPresSec) August 7, 2014
Of course, if the Pentagon is issuing an official denial and to a major news outlet at that, it merely confirms the story, especially since it was further reported by McClatchy...
Jet aircraft attacked Islamic State positions outside the town of Kalak, 25 miles northwest of Irbil, the capital of Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish region, a resident of Kalak told McClatchy early Friday.
The resident, reached by phone from Irbil, said she had seen the aircraft and had heard the explosions coming from behind Islamic State lines, which are slightly more than a mile away. The resident said because it was dark she could not see any markings on the aircraft.
Kurdish television reported that the bombers were American. There was no confirmation from U.S. officials in Washington.
The reported bombing came after a day of panic in the Kurdish capital following Islamic State militants’ seizure of four strategic towns on a key highway and their advance to positions just minutes from Irbil.
... even if it opens even further questions about yet more leaks in the US government, and more disinformation campaigns.
In any event, we look forward to Obama shortly addressing the masses while submitting his official application for the 2014 edition of the Nobel Peace Prize, his second.

Fuck Obama and the New York Times- thats where the bombs need to go.
A couple hundred miles west and those poor ISIS boys are called Freedom Fighters.
Libtards. The heavy stuff is supposed to come come down Friday after the markets close, and be supplanted by a bigger crisis/plague/meteor shower by Monday so it is forgotten by the celebs and talking heads.

The US did that and crushed a few Kurds after Gulf War I.
I'm sure that seems like a sound plan to the Ministry of Peace.
Its water they really need. Not sure how you deliver than to a mountain unless it is by helicopter.
In a speech at Ft. Bragg, NC on December 14, 2011, President Barack Obama said the United States was “leaving behind a sovereign, stable and self-reliant Iraq, with a representative government that was elected by its people.”LOL !! So says the Black Jimmy Carter.

Might remember back before the Olympics when Putin told the Saudis to fuck off over the pipeline oppositon deal up through Syria, he did offer to help Obie.

No, again, HYJBs are prohibited by the Geneva Convention.
Pretty quick response..wait maybe it was planned awhile ago...
There could'be been bombs dropped but there are many players: US sure, Iraqui palnes with US planes, Iraqui Russina SU 25's, Syrian Russian plane, maybe even Iranian jet. Wouldn't put the Israelis dipping thier wick in it for some dastardous reason ad bomb there too.
The Shit is really starting to Hit the Fan.

On the heels of Gaza and Ukraine
Say it ain't so!
Let's see - green button is baby formula, red button is fragmentation ordinance. Or is red for baby formula and green for ordinance. shit - better just hit 'em both.
As Isreal /Zionism is the hour glass that everything must pass.. this from Chris Hedges:
Why Israel LiesAll governments lie, as I.F. Stone pointed out, including Israel and Hamas. But Israel engages in the kinds of jaw-dropping lies that characterize despotic and totalitarian regimes. It does not deform the truth; it inverts it. It routinely paints a picture for the outside world that is diametrically opposed to reality. And all of us reporters who have covered the occupied territories have run into Israel’s Alice-in-Wonderland narratives, which we dutifully insert into our stories—required under the rules of American journalism—although we know they are untrue.
I saw small boys baited and killed by Israeli soldiers in the Gaza refugee camp of Khan Younis. The soldiers swore at the boys in Arabic over the loudspeakers of their armored jeep. The boys, about 10 years old, then threw stones at an Israeli vehicle and the soldiers opened fire, killing some, wounding others. I was present more than once as Israeli troops drew out and shot Palestinian children in this way. Such incidents, in the Israeli lexicon, become children caught in crossfire. I was in Gaza when F-16 attack jets dropped 1,000-pound iron fragmentation bombs on overcrowded hovels in Gaza City. I saw the corpses of the victims, including children. This became a surgical strike on a bomb-making factory. I have watched Israel demolish homes and entire apartment blocks to create wide buffer zones between the Palestinians and the Israeli troops that ring Gaza. I have interviewed the destitute and homeless families, some camped out in crude shelters erected in the rubble. The destruction becomes the demolition of the homes of terrorists. I have stood in the remains of schools—Israel struck two United Nations schools in the last six days, causing at least 10 fatalities at one in Rafah on Sunday and at least 19 at one in the Jebaliya refugee camp Wednesday—as well as medical clinics and mosques. I have heard Israel claim that errant rockets or mortar fire from the Palestinians caused these and other deaths, or that the attacked spots were being used as arms depots or launching sites. I, along with every other reporter I know who has worked in Gaza, have never seen any evidence that Hamas uses civilians as “human shields.”
There is a perverted logic to Israel’s repeated use of the Big Lie—Große Lüge—the lie favored by tyrants from Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin to Saddam Hussein. The Big Lie feeds the two reactions Israel seeks to elicit—racism among its supporters and terror among its victims.
By painting a picture of an army that never attacks civilians, that indeed goes out of its way to protect them, the Big Lie says Israelis are civilized and humane, and their Palestinian opponents are inhuman monsters. The Big Lie serves the idea that the slaughter in Gaza is a clash of civilizations, a war between democracy, decency and honor on one side and Islamic barbarism on the other. And in the uncommon cases when news of atrocities penetrates to the wider public, Israel blames the destruction and casualties on Hamas.
George Orwell in his novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four” called this form of propaganda doublethink. Doublethink uses “logic against logic” and “repudiate[s] morality while laying claim to it.” The Big Lie does not allow for the nuances and contradictions that can plague conscience. It is a state-orchestrated response to the dilemma of cognitive dissonance. The Big Lie permits no gray zones. The world is black and white, good and evil, righteous and unrighteous. The Big Lie allows believers to take comfort—a comfort they are desperately seeking—in their own moral superiority at the very moment they have abrogated all morality.
The Big Lie, as the father of American public relations, Edward Bernays, wrote, is limited only by the propagandist’s capacity to fathom and harness the undercurrents of individual and mass psychology. And since most supporters of Israel do not have a desire to know the truth, a truth that would force them to examine their own racism and self-delusions about Zionist and Western moral superiority, like packs of famished dogs they lap up the lies fed to them by the Israeli government. The Big Lie always finds fertile soil in what Bernays called the “logic-proof compartment of dogmatic adherence.” All effective propaganda, Bernays wrote, targets and builds upon these irrational “psychological habits.”
This is the world Franz Kafka envisioned, a world where the irrational becomes rational. It is one where, as Gustave Le Bon noted in “The Crowd: A Study of the Public Mind,” those who supply the masses with the illusions they crave become their master, and “whoever attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victim.” This irrationality explains why the reaction of Israeli supporters to those who have the courage to speak the truth—Uri Avnery, Max Blumenthal, Noam Chomsky, Jonathan Cook, Norman Finkelstein, Amira Hass, Gideon Levy, Ilan Pappé, Henry Siegman and Philip Weiss—is so rabid. That so many of these voices are Jewish, and therefore have more credibility than non-Jews who are among Israel’s cheerleaders, only ratchets up the level of hate.
(Page 2)
But the Big Lie is also consciously designed to send a chilling message to Gaza’s Palestinians, who have lost large numbers of their dwellings, clinics, mosques, and power, water and sewage facilities, along with schools and hospitals, who have suffered some 1,650 deaths since this assault began—most of the victims women and children—and who have seen 400,000 people displaced from their homes. The Big Lie makes it clear to the Palestinians that Israel will continue to wage a campaign of state terror and will never admit its atrocities or its intentions. The vast disparity between what Israel says and what Israel does tells the Palestinians that there is no hope. Israel will do and say whatever it wants. International law, like the truth, will always be irrelevant. There will never, the Palestinians understand from the Big Lie, be an acknowledgement of reality by the Israeli leadership.
The Israel Defense Forces website is replete with this black propaganda. “Hamas exploits the IDF’s sensitivity towards protecting civilian structures, particularly holy sites, by hiding command centers, weapons caches and tunnel entrances in mosques,” the IDF site reads. “In Hamas’ world, hospitals are command centers, ambulances are transport vehicles, and medics are human shields,” the site insists.
“... [Israeli] officers are tasked with an enormous responsibility: to protect Palestinian civilians on the ground, no matter how difficult that may be,” the site assures its viewers. And the IDF site provides this quote from a drone operator identified as Lt. Or. “I have personally seen rockets fired at Israel from hospitals and schools, but we couldn’t strike back because of civilians nearby. In one instance, we acquired a target but we saw that there were children in the area. We waited around, and when they didn’t leave we were forced to abort a strike on an important target.”
Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer, in a Big Lie of his own, said last month at a conference of Christians United for Israel that the Israeli army should be given the “Nobel Peace Prize … a Nobel Peace Prize for fighting with unimaginable restraint.”
The Big Lie destroys any possibility of history and therefore any hope for a dialogue between antagonistic parties that can be grounded in truth and reality. While, as Hannah Arendt pointed out, the ancient and modern sophists sought to win an argument at the expense of the truth, those who wield the Big Lie “want a more lasting victory at the expense of reality.” The old sophists, she said, “destroyed the dignity of human thought.” Those who resort to the Big Lie “destroy the dignity of human action.” The result, Arendt warned, is that “history itself is destroyed, and its comprehensibility.” And when facts no longer matter, when there is no shared history grounded in the truth, when people foolishly believe their own lies, there can be no useful exchange of information. The Big Lie, used like a bludgeon by Israel, as perhaps it is designed to be, ultimately reduces all problems in the world to the brutish language of violence. And when oppressed people are addressed only through violence they will answer only through violence.

Whole mess of paragraphs about lying but no actual factual lies. You just typed thousands of characters and said absolutely nothing. You are a special kind of anti semite aren't you?
This is a joke.. right????? And nothing special about it. Define for me a special kind of anti Semite,,,how many categories of anti Semite would you site....For your expansionism there must be many for you to expel everybody.. that is not in agreement...Your false flexibility is ridiculous...in this opportunistic kabuki theater...
http://www.doomsteaddiner.net/blog/2014/08/07/israel-palestine-conflict-...
Meh. "The Palestinains know." The Streets have already been cleared...time to see if the tunnels held up.
War is not "Kafkaesque" or even logical really...what logic is there in killing women and children inverted or otherwise?
And of course the answer is "none."
Where the logic, and the math, and the numbers, and the geometry...all combine is in a structure or a "form" (concrete, reinforced with steel) and the after action review. How did the theory in fact actually "hold up"?
Believe me...they're good chess players in Gaza.
An outspoken critic of Israel's role in the latest conflict in Gaza appears to have had his job offer at a major university retracted due to his tweets and public comments on the matter.
Steven Salaita, previously an associate professor in the English Department at Virginia Tech University, was initially offered a position with the American Indian Studies program at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, but Chancellor Phyllis Wise has since blocked his appointment, Inside Higher Ed reported Wednesday.
The university declined to comment to Inside Higher Ed on why Salaita's appointment was blocked when typically a post like his, having already been made public, would only require the formality of the school's board of trustees' approval before being confirmed. The university has also not responded to a HuffPost request for comment as of publication date.
Reports by Inside Higher Ed and the Daily-Gazette indicate that Salaita's anti-Israel tweets on the conflict in Gaza, which had recently received some media attention, was the reason why the author's offer of employment was rescinded.
The American Association of University Professors' Illinois committee on Wednesday issued a statement describing the professor's words as "stridden and vulgar" but also "an impassioned plea to end the violence currently taking place in the Middle East."
"Speech that is deemed controversial should be challenged with further speech that may abhor and challenge a statement," the AAUP statement continues. "Yet the University of Illinois cannot cancel an appointment based upon Twitter statements that are protected speech in the United States of America."
However, Cary Nelson, an English professor at the University of Illinois and the former president of the AAUP, appeared on HuffPost Live Thursday (embedded above) to address the controversy, saying his would-be colleague had "stepped over a line" with not only the tone but also the content of his comments on the Gaza conflict. Nelson said that he supported the university's decision.
A university spokeswoman had previously defended Salaita's hiring to the News-Gazette, telling the newspaper late last month, "Faculty have a wide range of scholarly and political views, and we recognize the freedom-of-speech rights of all of our employees."
Meanwhile, a Change.org petition calling for Salaita to be rehired by the university has been signed over 7,400 times as of Thursday afternoon.
Thanks for the good news.

Fer real folks...never has any President wanted to appear less for war than our American President. And of course what conspiracy theory can be attached to that? And the answer ...OF COURSE...is NONE.
It is perhaps irony at its most sublime. But I know of no one here...and I mean NOBODY...who has appeared here as anything different.
We can speculate as to the reasons for the "all is well" seasons approach. As with the Iraq Invasion itself however it is not for electoral advantage.
That may be about to change....

Let me get this straight. The USA is sending aid to people trapped by Mossad and Academi and are planning to bomb themselves? Hey! What a novel concept. Set up both sides of a war and bomb both sides. Now I know why our returning soldiers are so confused. "Both Sides Now". What stocks should I buy to profit by this brilliant new strategy? Ratheon, Boeing, Lockheed? Is there an ETF? We could call it DAM:
Defence And Military ETF. Both you and I know it could also stand for Death And Murder
Yes that's about it. Drop some MRE's followed by a hellfire missile.
Everybody wins; Mossad and CIA. Everybody.
Minderbinder, is that you?
This time Milo had gone too far. Bombing his own men and planes was more than even the most phlegmatic observer could stomach, and it looked like the end for him. He had contracted with the Germans to bomb Milo's own camp.… Milo was all washed up until he opened his books to the public and disclosed the tremendous profit he had made.
School kids used to have to read Catch-22. Pretty good movie also. Good old Milo Minderbinder.
There are US TROOPS in Irbil and they are about to get WIPED out by ISIS!
When did the lame stream EVER give a fuck about Christians???
This is about preventing ANOTHER Benghazi, and NOT ADMITTING that there are troops on the ground (that's why they're called advisors).
WHEN has Barry EVER been this quick to bomb? Answer: NEVER

Interesting that this report comes in a day or two after another report that Saudi's are getting nervous about IS/ISIS.

Enjoy your gifts from America. Your choice depleted uranium or poison. They'll kill you either way and probably equally as fast.
Yawn... It may not be Americans bombing ISIS. It may be coordinated between Syria and Iraq with Russian support. The Americans may have been beat to the punch and blindsided.
If you recall Russia sent the Iraqi government several SU-25's a couple of months ago, probably along with some Russian pilots.
Inth ebig pisture... Obumbler, the Necon's, and the Saudis' aren't particularly anxious to bomb the Sunni Jihadist army (i.e. ISIS) they created that is also fighting Assad and the Shiities, despite all of the evil shit they are doing in Iraq and Syria.
The Saudis are cool with their evil out-of-control Sunni Jihadist spawn as long as they destroy Assad, slaughter Shiites, and don't cross onto their turf, hence the precautions along their border
Stay tuned.
An Su-25, like an A10, would make short work of a convoy of white Toyota pickups.
I should have added Iran to the Shiite Iraqis, Syrians, and Russians taking it to ISIS.
Obumbler, the Neocons, and the Saudis are in dire staits and paralyzed. They simply don't know WTF to do with their evil Sunni Shiite-killing sprog that they now can't control.
With all the bombing and droning of other countries I'm sure glad the US is a Christian country. Imagine the carnage if the US was Muslim or worse, atheist.
I wonder which of the big, slow planes carrying humanitarian aid will get shot down as a false flag to get the American people back in favor of endless war...
Should they carry Obama's presser regarding bombing ISIS or the Congressional debate that occcurred earlier regarding a war declaration that would constitutionally allow Obama.....oh we don't do that anymore????
That's a helluva private army to have control over
Ahhh... the good old food baited bombing run. Hilarious!
