This Is How Putin's Advisor Sees The Ukraine Crisis Playing Out

Tyler Durden's picture

Vladimir Putin's chief "integration" advisor, Sergei Glazyev, has been regularly featured on these pages in the past (see Putin Advisor Threatens With Dumping US Treasurys, Abandoning Dollar If US Proceeds With Sanctions and Putin Advisor Proposes "Anti-Dollar Alliance" To Halt US Aggression Abroad for two examples). So now that the Ukraine situation has once again escalated, this time with both sides openly engaged in trade war and many suggesting all-out war just over the horizon, how does Putin's advisor see the Ukraine conflict playing out?

For the answer we go to Bloomberg:

Putin has sought to lure Ukraine and its more than 40 million people into the alliance to build a trading bloc to rival the EU. Yanukovych pursued closer ties with the customs union and pulled out of an association agreement with the EU before his ouster in February. His successor, President Petro Poroshenko, signed the free-trade accord with the 28-nation bloc in June.

Russia can’t go it alone against the U.S. and must create an “anti-war coalition” to check the “aggressor,” Glazyev said.

The point of a series of regional wars organized by the Americans, especially today’s catastrophe in Ukraine, centers on the U.S. securing control over all of north Eurasia” to bolster “its position against China,” Glazyev said. “That’s how the U.S. military and oligarchs are trying to maintain leadership in the global competition with China.”

The effort will backfire, said Glazyev, who spoke before a round of retaliatory steps announced by Russia yesterday banning food and agricultural products for one year from the U.S., the EU, Norway, Canada and Australia. The U.S.-led “economic war” against Russia will ricochet, leaving the EU to pay the steepest costs in the conflict, he said.

The trading bloc stands to lose about 1 trillion euros ($1.3 trillion), an estimate he says includes the possible bankruptcy of several European banks and companies toppled after the cutoff in financial and economic ties. An energy crisis in Europe will bring a sharp spike in prices and a loss of competitiveness for European producers. Meanwhile, Turkish, Chinese and east Asian nations will fill the void left by the departure of their European rivals from the Russian market.

The fallout will cost 250 billion euros for Germany alone while pushing the three Baltic states to the brink of an “economic catastrophe,” he said. Lithuania and Latvia will lose the equivalent of half of their entire economic output, and the cost for Estonia will reach 50 percent more than its gross domestic product, Glazyev said.

Where does that leave Russia?

“Task no. 1 is to block those threats to economic security that are now coming from the U.S., neutralize them by reducing the dependence of our external economic activity on the mercy of American politicians, whose aggressiveness threatens the entire world,” he said.

Glazyev's conclusion:

To further insulate its economy, Russia should abandon the use of the U.S. dollar as a reserve currency, according to Glazyev. Russia, which international reserves are the world’s fifth-biggest, needs to diversify its holdings to include China’s yuan, India’s rupee and Brazil’s real.  “If a country aspires to reserve status for its currency, it should behave properly, and that isn’t the case today,” Glazyev said.

And this is how Putin sees the world. De-escalation? Good luck.

Dude, the only way the IMF/IBS/ESF/NWO engineered collapso of the US Petro$ can go forward is rising a Superior Supranational Sollution from the ashes. Logic will be presented to the panicked populace that the US in it's magnanamous concern for humanity, offers up the role of Imperium to a greater, more representative Imperium, the stalwart guardian of all Justice and Humanity, the UN/WB/WTO collective. Stay tuned to BBC, they'll announce it 23 minutes before it happens.

Perhaps based on a SDR, perhaps with actual coin and paper tokens, perhaps a crypto (BCs the principle teething issue beta test) on a compulsory organic/inorganic tattoo (Motorola patent already), perhaps gold or commodity basket backed, but certainly corporate owned and centrally distibuted.

To create fear and then farm our deep need for security and order, the controllers of International Fractional Reserve Banking and their paid/bribed/blackmailed representatives (often call governments) are swinging the pendulum more and more vigorously and violently. Soon it will smash out of the side of the clock, if that's the plan (ordo ab chao), and time will freeze. What will happen next, or may already be then underway (in the form of pandemic, WW/nuclear winter, flock of Black Swans landing, bluebeam 'alien invasion'), will provide wisdom in hindsight for any who survive and have time/energy to contemplate the historical context of their plight. And the safety/means/network to do so.

Enough signals have been broadcast, and I'm convinced that the (recent history) illusion of 'the mighty US, exceptionalist winner of the WW2 Peace and deserver of the GRC' will be deliberately binned for a more expansive agenda. A global agenda, where the China-isation of the planet is the outcome, with those serfs who were not eliminated as useless eaters and bleaters servicing the indulgences of an elete for 50c/hr. A form of TechoNeoFeudalism. I have no doubt whatsoever that if those in the Sino/Russian control rooms are not already 'players', then there are active programmes from the designers of 'The Grand Chessboard' to 'bring freedon and democracy' to them, and replace them with Porkoshenko cut-outs.

Time will tell if Putin and the BRICS team is just that on the gameboard, or a genuine opposition to US hegemony. If the latter, I see very tough times ahead, because the US debt bomb will need to be reset before hyperinflation goes home, and it's more likely to be through destruction, not production (as during/after WW2). If the former, lot's more slo-mo train wreck and frog boiling for the drugged, mind-managed and mesmerised losers of soveriegnty.

GlobeCorp rules, OK?

Winston - about China and the Rothchildes

Bo Xilai sounds like he was the redshield point man in the Middle Kingdom. The Englishman poisoned by the wife sounds like the redshield conduit. If so, what a pleasant bit of good news that Bo is jailed and his mentor, Zhou will soon be joining him.

I don't buy it.  You don't see these kinds of desperate acts coming from someone who's confidently in control of the whole game.  These people are not invicible, and blowing everything off as a "Hobsons Choice" is just playing into their hands.

drdolittle's picture

Yep, and I wonder how much this is aimed at Europe. Right now they're not willing to war with Russia and US is stretched a bit thin to take on Russia in her backyard. However, economic collapse will do strange things to folks. Make 'em invest in armaments and go get those evil Ruskies. Just a thought.

HardAssets's picture

You say Russia is just a part of the NWO. Maybe youre right.

What evidence and reasoning to you have to support that assertion ?

Winston Churchill's picture

It maybe, or was, I don't think Putin is following the script.

The Rothchildes desperately wanted the SDR + SDRM regime so the whole world

was the host. That now seems dead,at least in a version under their control.

I'm sure they have a backup plan, with another backup in case that fails.

Considering they are probably personally  responsible for the deaths of nearly a billion

souls, in furtherance of their scheming, anything is possible with these psychopaths.

In my wilder thoughts, maybe they want the world, as we know it, destroyed with a greater

Israel as world hegemon.Such inbred insanity it hard to fathom.

layman_please's picture

you are talking about parties that usually plan decades and centuries. whatever we see unraveling at the moment, is obsolete for their minds as their gaze is directed to the future. it's highly likely that in daily politics they don't intervene, because for that they have the errand boys who have to follow the grand plan. if they deviate or fail, they will be replaced.

regardless of putin following the script or not, they'll have their way. there's nothing more fragile than the tip of the power pyramid, because everybody is aiming for the top. little help can do a lot. even though putin has been fortifying his base recently by purging 18 top military officers, russia is internally still a tinder box.

of course all this is not true if one assumes they have lost control, which i doubt.

So... belittle our oportunity of possible TPTB destabilization caused by themselves...?

Have you perchance heard of Iceland?

I will sure as hell hope we do not immitate Britain with the 100 yrs war; caused by TPTB arguing amongst themselves.

Such only begets willingful and genetically programmed servitude.

Change is good, especially when available opportunity is grasped cognitively.

Edgar Cayce prediction on Russia ...
"In Russia there comes the hope of the world, not as that sometimes termed of the Communistic, of the bolshevistic; no. but freedom, freedom! That each man will live for his fellow man! The principle has been born. It will take years for it to be crystallized, but out of Russia comes again the hope of the world" (3976-29)

"It seems Russia is the last hope for an America free from the tentacles of the squid. Who woulda thunk."

Putin isn't gonna help America get rid of the squid.

He and the rest of Asia are simply walking away from the squid saying "we're not gonna participate anymore".

conscious being's picture

I agree, but the effects from that maneuver will cause enough internal discomfort to provide the opportunity for a reset. A reset which could come in many .flavors.

gatorboat's picture

There won't be any reset in America.   Fed will keep printing dollars as the dollar loses reserve currency status and drops right in the toilet. Americans will see hyperinflation.  They'll watch their dollars steadlly lose value and they won't be able to do anything about it.

Will America become Weimar Germany 2.0?   Probably not. But Americans will see a huge drop in the dollar.

"We'll just kill the dollar."

That doesn't sound like any reset to me.

Putin knows it's coming, China knows it's coming, and they're making plans to abandon the US dollar.  We already see it in the news. It's happening now.

When they do, most nations on the planet will join them.  Everybody will will walk away from the US dollar, and leave America wallowing in trillions of near-worthless dollars.

Yeah, evil America wants to destroy a Saint Innocent Russia. I would agree with Glaziev or Putin if I (as a native Russian) saw any reason to defend Russia or fight for it. Unfortunately contemporary Russia is of no value for humanity or its citizens. It's an evil unfair society with no science, degraded and virtually non-existant healthcare and education. There's no future here. I agree that America is degrading too but Russia really has no competitors here. It falls behind on every measure imaginable compared to developped countries and its wealth is being constantly stolen by Putin and his friends. Glaziev has his share too :)

I'll go out on a limb

I say the Damage to Europe is too much for the NATO Alliance to last past 2016, due to heavy handed US Threats & Sanctions, and demonstrated ignorance & negligence in the face of EU & Russian Intelligence.

- Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania will need US Assistance in buying it's products, but Obama would probably just give them $2 B in US Fiat

- Germany will lose 1% of Total Gross GDP as a result of Ukraine Chaos & US & EU Sanctions as the stand. AND Germany & EU will face Energy Price Hikes that are unacceptable.(Not an Economist here)

- US will lose a few thousand jobs at most, but corporate revues will be hit hardest - No Big Deal in a Weak Economy today

- US Petrol Dollar will face immediate Drop by the Russians who hold $111 B Dollars in Treasuries
"...The German Chambers of Commerce and Industry estimate that up to a quarter of German companies that do business abroad could be affected...."
"...German industry's Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations believes that the crisis could endanger up to 25,000 jobs in Germany..."

Plenty of Rich Diplomats in EU & Germany will hold to policy for at least a year for it's NATO Alliance & US Benefactor who Leases Military Bases and Employs maybe 50,000 Germans(??) BUT having strong Unions and Socialist programs means job losses take longer and are more expensive for everyone when GDP is cut.

German & French Banks are said to have too much debt and that certain stress tests show loss of GDP and Credit could be very tough.

JohninMK's picture

So its still OK for the big US companies to keep working in Russia.

One day the EU will wake up to the fact that they pay and the US benefits.

BOCHAROV RUCHEY, August 9 (RIA Novosti) - The Chief of ExxonMobil Russia Glenn Waller said he was certain of his corporation's long-lasting cooperation with Russia's oil giant Gazprom at the launch of the companies' joint project in the Arctic.

"Our cooperation is a long-term one. We see big benefits here and are ready to work here with your agreement," Waller said.
