The Complete History Of US Presidents Bombing Iraq Back Into The Stone Age

Tyler Durden's picture

What else is there to add here, it is simple really: if need i) distraction from domestic scandal, ii) a ready source of emergency offshore oil or pushing US E&P companies to drill , or iii) a script for a Hollywood movie provisionally titled "Wag the dog", then just bomb the living crap out of Iraq. Even US presidents (all of them beginning with the first Bush) have figured it out.

Behold, the biggest contribution to the civilized world by the US military-industrial complex and their administration puppets:

  • Operation Desert Shield
  • Operation Desert Storm
  • Operation Provide Comfort I and II
  • Operation Southern Watch
  • Operation Desert Strike
  • Operation Northern Watch
  • Operation Desert Fox
  • Operation Southern Focus
  • Operation Iraqi Freedom
  • Operation New Dawn
  • Operation [Provide Humanitarian Aid]

P.S. Dear Iraqi people, our condolences.

This is off topic, if you'll indulge me, was reading from bottom up, got to the 'us airstrikes in northern iraq are all about oil' story, and, wouldn't you know it, someone brought up Israel and Zionists and someone immediately, basically said welcome to Jew Hate Club or some such...

Here's the thing - I prefer the fight club idea and free speech in practice, although I could certainly do with less of the just naked anti-Jewish stuff, and wouldn't mind reading about Israel/Palestine less in general, but that's just my opinion.

However, and also just my opinion, the 'you're an anti-semite' comment in that thread seemed to me to be...  well, dishonest.  There was, as usual, no specific allegation about why a post was allegedly anti-Jewish generally, and to me it seemed like what also happens a lot here - anyone criticizing Israel, or the political ideology/nationalism of Zionism, or certainly, aspects of the Jewish religion, is simply accused of "hatign Jews."

but this smear doesn't seem to apply to any other group - every other group seems subject to criticism, so here's my thought - the people crying anti-semite to posts that aren't about "all Jews" etc. are actually racist themselves - because for some of these people, the only group they seem to feel can't be criticized legitimately is Jews or Israel - and to me, that makes them culpable of a double standard baced on race/religion...

Besides all which, normally I'd have more sympathy and white sort-of liberal guilt, but a good handful of the people who are so quick on the draw with the "joo hate" stuff are also people who say absolutely absurdly racist things about Arabs/hateful things about Muslims as a monolith.

Has anyone ever been banned for persistent anti-Arab hate?

See, it seems like that sort of racial discrimination gets a complete pass while a good chunk, maybe most of the "anti-Semite" stuff is in reply to specific criticisms of the actions of a nation state's government or military.

Sorry for the diatribe, and again, I'm all for the fight club idea, but it is incredibly strange to see page after page of people being called "anti-semites" and "joo haters" by people who do it at the drop of a hat, and by people who seem not to smell the hypocrisy in following up their accusation with completely naked anti-Arab racism.

That is all.

also - fuck "Jumbotron."

"we" criminally invaded Iraq under false pretenses and bombed the hell out of them

we established a policy of divide and conquer mixed with death squads and torture which generated deep hatreds and a manipulated bloodbath

we set up a corrupt puppet government and fortress super-embassy to run the country

we now continue to bomb and assassinate Iraqis we dislike

I missed the part giving US the right to do any of that

puts some perspective on 25 years of war with Iraq which has produced what exactly? our embassy waits for the Saigon moment, which brings up the reason for all this, the loss of face we suffered in Vietnam and confidence that Americas military was up to any challenge. the war in Vietnam started with ground troops but midway through the strategic balance went to air strikes. the military people wanted to defoliate the jungle, in order to identify their targets. the jungle was their real enemy. so it became an obvious stroke of genius to repeat the process which started in Vietnam in the middle of a great desert where military targets could be identified and taken out. and like Vietnam we managed to turn the civilian population against us. when the south was liberated millions of proAmerican Vietnamese rode boats to Hong Kong harbor where they waited until America instituted an immigration policy. proAmerican Iraqis are going to start losing their heads, if you they don't catch the boat to America. (hint the quickest way in to the US is through Honduras) i am sure Obama will be remembered for giving these Iraq refugees a new homes. so there is one more chapter. the Vietnam war was not done on the deficit plan either, so the bills are still coming due, 2- 6 T on just the part of the war Iraq W Bush and Obama have control over. and no mention of Afghanistan?

Eachof these bastards is completely immoral. There are only two justifications for going to war. One is to defeat an imminent and existential threat.  The other is to prevent genocide or other crimes against humanity.  In either case you only put the military at risk when you are willing to totally annhilate the enemy. Eliminate the threat, completely, or stay the hell out of it. Either way you will destroy fewer lives.

Sadly, that's not even ALL the history.

And there was the US encouragement and support for Saddam in the bloody Iraq-Iran war. That was before the US did not support Saddam.

Indeed, the US (and the UK) have been actively involved "helping" Iraqis for a long time.

"Army officers with ties to the Ba'ath Party overthrew Qasim in the Ramadan Revolution coup of 1963. Ba'athist leaders were appointed to the cabinet and Abdul Salam Arif became president. The governments of the United States and United Kingdom were complicit in the coup."

Experts agree, Bush is the greatest president in Judeo-Christian history. Some say his greatestness is because he is one of the world’s great clear thinkers, able to break down any issue to its essentials. Whether you call it Evolution or Creation, W has won the Biological Lottery. Any observation of The President’s face will show that his eyes are slightly closer together than most are comfortable acknowledging. This is so he can look at any situation straight in the face without worry, or knowledge of, any peripheral distractions. Like the noble canine, George W. only sees what is directly in front of him. This makes him the perfect Decider in the fight against Terrorists, who depend on an enemy’s flinching capabilities. What these Islamo Fascists do not know, is that our Greatest President is physically unable to flinch at all. Face it Americans: George W. Bush was created by God to be our leader, he is truly a man of his with god at his side

Despite misinformation spread by The Liberal Media that George W. Bush was born in Connecticut on July 6, 1946 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Bush was in fact born on July 4, 1946 in the capital city of Crawford, Texas, where, as President, he eventually moved the White House (now called Prairie Chapel Ranch). His middle name, Walker, was given to him in honor of Cordell Walker, the legendary Texas Ranger. A poor boy growing up, he was forced to work in a coal mine in order to afford tuition for Phillips Academy (Andover), Yale University, and Harvard Business School. George was a straight A+ student, and became valedictorian of every school he attended, despite having none of the advantages of rich and powerful elite East Coast relatives.

Bush followed up his stellar academic career by valiantly serving his country during the Vietnam War. While many of his contemporaries looked for ways to avoid service, George volunteered to fight. He served in the Texas Air National Guard — the spearhead of America’s flying forces — where he became an ace fighter pilot. Rising to the rank of Lieutenant, the highest position in the Texas Air Guard, he defended the skies of Texas against the communist Viet Cong Air Force. During Bush’s tour of service, not a single North Vietnamese aircraft recorded a kill within the borders of Texas, a key battleground during the war. Indeed, his reputation as an Ace spread so quickly and so wide, that few — if any — enemy aircraft were sighted over Texas at all. Bush’s experiences as a cocky air jockey later became the basis for the movie Top Gun, and for the World War I Flying Ace character portrayed byCharlie Brown’s dog Snoopy. While in the Guard, he not only had a perfect attendance record, but was known for covering shifts for other Guardsmen who had to remain at home and attend important business meetings orRepublican party fund-raising cocktail parties. During Bush’s first presidential campaign, some members of the lame-stream media asked how he consistently had the energy to work double — and sometimes triple — shifts, but those people never knew him well enough to understand his peak physical condition, his commitment to regular exercise and stretching, and those people probably don’t support our troops and hate America anyway.

In 1994, Bush was elected as the Governor of Texas. There, he was lauded for his successes in improving the environment, the economy, for reducing the prison population by generously allowing so many inmates to go to “sleep” forever, and for his social reforms; he brought faith-based charities to the forefront by allowing them to fill the void created by his wise cuts of state welfare aid. After the American people voted for him 5-4, Bush became the 43rd President of the United States, inaugurated on January 20, 2001. There is not yet any consensus if he is a great president, or simply the greatest president ever; however, his decision to invade Iraq, Operation Iraqi Freedom, was either a great or the greatest decision ever made. He is the most beloved president of all time with polls showing that over 103% of Americans hold a “very strong” opinion of him. He’s also a ninja master and has super powers such as the ability to fly, shoot lasers out of his eyes, and lift any object.

George “Best President Ever” W. Bush also owned and operated several incredibly well-managed and lucrative businesses. He ran our country just like he ran every business he had a stake in: selflessly, prosperously, planfully, and definitely NOT into the ground. It must also be noted that George W. Bush has the biggest johnson in the history of the world. He puts John Holmes, Ron Jeremy, AND Hillary Clinton COMBINED to shame when it comes to the size of his johnson. This is something that he made crystal clear to his opponents (who only had little, wimpy, teeny weeny johnsons) throughout the span of his manly rule. Bush was famous for just “whippin’ it out” at United Nations meetings with a big grin on his face, making his opponents run to the little boys room and cry because they had NOTHING on God’s chosen He-Man! He did this when presenting the doctrine for the Iraq War, and hence, this is how America won the war in Iraq. Good wholesome Americans all praise God everyday that our president was able to bring freedom to the world and spread the goodness of the USA with his God given IRON ROD!!!!

In March 2003, George W. Bush was chosen by Time Magazine as the “Best President of the Millennium.”

God bless George W. Bush.
