Ferguson As America: "There Is A Brewing Problem... And It's Extremely Dangerous"

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Martin Armstrong of Armstrong Economics,

missouri-looting-AP

Riots are have erupted with hundreds of protesters gathering at a suburban St. Louis police station on Monday demanding murder charges against an officer who shot to death an unarmed black teenager over the weekend. Looting just went nuts like the ’60s. While this is being painted as a race issue, there is yet another issue that is not being addressed – that is the militarization of the civil police forces around the country.

boston_police

Ever since 911, there has been a trend moving toward much harsher local police. Here is a photo of how the Boston Police have militarized to the point it looks like war against the people. Even small towns are geared up for war.

The small town of Medford, Oregon with a population of 76,462 has spent millions of dollars to militarize their police. They have their own Swat Teams, yet no incident in history of some major shooting of such a nature to warrant a Swat Team. The entire reason where there was the Second Amendment was to eliminate this very threat of standing armies. We are seeing the abuse of force at every level. Medford Police bought a new vehicle that some say could survive a so-called the apocalypse. They used their Swat Team to go after a mere carjacker.

Medford, New Jersey with a population of just 23,033 also has a Swat Team. They rushed in and held two white kids on the ground at gun-point for shooting potatoes into a lake setting hair spray as the propellant.

NormanRockwell

The whole thing about standing armies has been their historical use out of boredom. It is a shame to pay for something and then not use it. Police use to be friendly as shown in Normal Rockwell’s classic painting. Sure there are a few good souls still left. But the attitudes have shifted to being just mean and nasty as they look at the civilian population as evil.

PepperSpray-US

This is a problem that is brewing and is extremely dangerous to say the least. Examples of police abuse are all over the internet. There has been a loss of respect for the people and there seems to be no way to reverse this process.

PepperSpray-NYC

They sprayed protesters in the eyes during Occupy Wall Street movements everywhere. The conduct has been outrageous. This killing of this black teen is not simply racism. The problems are much deeper. Claiming this is just racism deflects the entire issue and makes it simply black-v-white. This is something far more serious for it is impacting our entire society.

Nevada-Protest

The protests over land was yet another example. The police showed up with weapons and told the people they would shoot to kill. The police are being transformed from protecting the public into protecting government from the public. Most do not even see what transformation they have gone through.

Michael Snyder has a different persepctive...

Even though the economy has somewhat stabilized (at least for the moment), levels of anger and frustration have continued to grow in this country.  We have been taught to hate one another and to blame one another for our problems, and so now the U.S. is more divided than at any other point in recent memory.  For much more on this, please see my previous article entitled "America The Divided: Everyone Knows We Have Problems But There Is Very Little Agreement On Solutions".

We live at a time when things are so tense that even a small spark can light an absolutely huge fire.  America has become a tinderbox.  Next time it might not be a racially-charged shooting.  Next time it might be an Ebola outbreak that sparks looting and panic.  Or it might be some sort of financial collapse.  We just don't know.

But what we do know is that there are lots and lots of people that are willing to riot and loot and commit unspeakable crimes given the right circumstances.

Decades of social decay have gotten us to the point where the thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted every single day is wearing dangerously thin.

The truth is that it is not going to take much to push this nation over the edge.

If this kind of rioting can take place in a community with just over 20,000 people, what would a full-blown riot look like in a city with millions of people?

That is a very sobering thing to think about.

Once upon a time in America, you could leave your doors unlocked at night and you could let your kids play in the streets without ever having to worry.

But now we are a sick, decaying nation that has millions of people ready to riot and loot at the drop of a hat.

Is there any hope for us?

* * *

Today has been peaceful so far but this stunning picture seems to sum it all up

You are exactly what the problem is. People like you believe everything the police say..."I had to kill this kid cuz he went for my gun"!! Bullshit. The kid probably smarted off and the cop lost it. When I was a kid, which I am only 42 so this wasn't in the 20's, cops used to bust us for all kinds of things. Smoking weed, drinking, vandalism, etc...they would scare us, take the beer and send us home. Now they would show up with m16's. Don't excuse the cops because you never question their word and believe the propaganda that they are "heroes"...I am white, don't condone the looting, but good for these black folks telling the cops To go fuck themselves.

It illustrates how people like Gates, because they expect a sympathetic hearing from Obama, Holder, Jarret et al, escalate their complaints. Same thing with Trayvon - they now expect the feds to play along.

"the takers - the 47%"

The bottom 47% are the welfare leaches that are literally sitting back and taking, at the point of a gun by proxy, from those that do earn.

Fuck the police but fuck the welfare state too. They are quite literally the opposite sides of the same coin. Remove the welfare and the people start working. Guess what? Then policing is more a matter of contract dispute resolution and not crowd control.

"the takers - the 47%"

Thank you for regurgitating that old Romney drivel. So is the woman who serves you breakfast at Denny's a "taker"? Because she likely earns minimum wage and when she files a tax return gets everything back that she, um, contributed. Is the certified nursing assistant who wipes your mom's ass in the nursing home a "taker"? Because she's likely earning minimum wage and getting a full return of her taxes in April. Is the lifeguard at the public pool that saves your child's life a "taker"? Because they make minimum wage too. How about the janitor that cleans up the toilet you crap in? Or the retail clerk that sold you those $100 jeans you bought last weekend?

The myth persists that the "47%" don't contribute to society or that they do nothing but take. Guess what? They do pay taxes. If they have a cell phone they pay taxes. If they drive a car and buy gas they pay taxes. They pay payroll taxes. Now it's true that they are in a bracket where they get much or all of it back when they file a return but is that their fault? And what would you do, raise their taxes? Because those that spew that "47%" bullshit are advocating just that. Yep, there's a lot of takers in society but the vast majority of the 47% are your neighbors and kids and people just getting started in life. Next time you walk into McDonald's and see that old woman who had to return to the workforce because her retirement has been decimated by persistent debasement of the dollar ask her if she is willing to pay a little more in taxes to ease the burden of the 53%

The 47% who pay no income tax includes Romney and his  friends in banking and business who lobbied for tax breaks that reduce their own taxes to 0.

It also includes retirees, the disabled, unemployed, etc etc.

Wonder how many people would drop off the list if taxes were fair and they stopped shipping jobs overseas?

Yes, Shizzmoney!

"... the ROOT of all of this stems from money."

Slavery was about "money." Racism was the ideological rationalization of the economics of slavery, which was the original form manifesting the facts that: "Thuggery is cheap, is easy to attain, and is profitable for the ownership class."

In American history, for the American people who originally came from Europe, the main cascade of events has been the political processes whereby the best organized gangs of criminals, the biggest gangsters, the banksters, were able to capture control over the government, in order to legalize runaway systems of lies backed by violence. It was within the history of the monetary system that the processes of turning the police into servants of the ruling classes, rather than servants of the people, began, and developed since then at an exponential rate. That has been driven to get worse, faster, as the systems of debt slavery were backed up by wars based on deceits. The most spectacular symbol was that the events on 9/11/2001 were an inside job, false flag attack, deliberately designed to start more genodical wars, and prepare to impose democidal martial law.

The established systems of debt slavery are necessarily driving numbers towards debt insanities, which have no ways to be fixed, within the established systems. The established systems are runaways, which are going to get madder and madder, because those systems are basically MAD!

America was the greatest expression of Neolithic Civilization, which came a package deal with most of the best parts at the beginning, but most of the worst parts nearer the ending. As far as I can tell, there is nothing else that a relatively informed individual can do but attempt to understand how and why everything is going to automatically get worse, faster. It is NOT possible for the established systems to reform themselves adequately, since their foundations are rotten enforced frauds, whose own excessive successes destroy themselves. The more that they attempt to consolidate their systems of enforced frauds, the worse things will get overall. I believe we are doomed to watch things automatically get worse, faster, until there will be criminally insane martial law, which will continue backfire badly, until things collapse down through levels of chaos, until they finally could not collapse anymore?

Of course, I really could not possibly know whether or not there may eventually be some sort of revolution that survives through these transformations. These days, I tend to believe that things are so bad, outside of the social polarization, in the areas of the destruction of the natural world and strip-mining of natural resources, that our problems are WAY WORSE than we can imagine, when looking at the little local effects of runaway social polarization, which are relatively trivial by comparison. However, assuming that some people do survive through all of these horrible events, then one could remember that after the Black Plague killed about a third of the people in Europe, things got better for the survivors ... (Although, this time, I am no longer sure that will still be the case for anybody, anymore?)

"We all know that those who have the guns (and those who own them), make the rules."

America allegedly has the highest private gun ownership in the world....So how can the above be true?

Riots for the most part are an excuse to loot....

Heavily armed and brutal police is the reaction to high gun ownership, simply put,  the authorities are scared shitless of the sheep, the sheep, full of hubris, fancy themselves with their weapons which in reality is rather a joke...the only really effective gun owners in the community are those ex servicemen with combat experience, fortunately there are a growing number of them.

I totally agree with what you said, your dead on.  They need the managment class and the police to ride herd on the rest of us.  Because if we wake up as  a whole and see how much they have been giving us the shaft they would be strung up seriously.  So they love using the police (notice you don't hear any of the govt. truly saying to the police cut it out) because they are their protectors.

"CNBC is an example; they pander to their viewers constantly that (in a runaround way) workers are nothing but pieces of expendable trash; that stock holders and corporate management and executives are the ones who keep America running, not those at the bottom who Mitt Romney affectionately called, "the takers - the 47%".  All with a SMILE!"

A sure sign libtard(read communist) is how quickly they move from defending people who work to people who don't work.  Romney's 47% are people who don't work.  Here is the quote:

"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it -- that that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. ... These are people who pay no income tax. ... [M]y job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

You are typical of liberal liars who cannot debate the facts.  Mitt Romney was spot on in that quote.  He wasn't even talking about government workers(who are leeches as well), because they at least pay income tax.  Those looters in Ferguson have never worked a day in their lives and never paid a nickel in taxes.  The few who actually have worked get what is known as an "earned income tax credit".  That means they take MY TAXES and give it as a refund to someone who has NEVER PAID ANY TAXES!  Look it up for yourself.  How many of those looters support your communist in chief?  Every single one of them you can be sure.

I don't mean like shocked or surprised, I mean really PISSED OFF.

Amateur-ass soldier wannabe cops: Fatigues are not a damn Halloween costume. They mean something to a lot of guys who earned them. That's the uniform that U.S. soldiers are wearing when they get shipped out and then shipped back in aluminum boxes. You don't get to dress-up all bad-ass in THAT uniform so you can intimidate some fucking crack-head in a raid. People died in that uniform so we would never need cops dressed like soldiers in the U.S.

Vets that fought for a country deserve support when they re-enter

civilian life. They have many abilities and likely do not neatly fit the stereotype of an addict that is bent on suicide. Emily Durkheim

came up with the best theory of suicide IMHO. Anomic, Egoistic, and Altruistic forms of suicide best fit the current suicide problems of vets.

Over one third of returing vets are functioning without drugs or booze

et cetera. All vets that I have known of were very talented and trustworthy individuals. My grandfather fought in the 1st World War and lost one leg in France. Any soldier that goes to war should be supported and not discarded IMHO. Passing a test of war would not be a test I would want to endure.

Please identify ONE FUCKING VET that has "fought for [our] country". Or if the world's gay friend Canada decides they're finally sick and embarrassed by our Narth American" antics and send the Mounties through Niagara FAlls...Oh yeah AIN"T GONNA EVER HAPPEN.

In ligth of that every last "vet" is no less than an accomplice to whatever illegal, immoral, and evil acts committed during said "war".

I'm more than happy to give criminals a second chance. Just shove this faux patriot bullshit where is deserves to go.

Until we as a nation and a society stop calling baby killers heroes, and worshipping the military as state religion, we will continue to be led into war after war by our psycopath, mass murdering "leaders" and their masters in the MIC.

Suburban Columbus here.  Know exactly what youre talking about.I'm a full fledged fuck the police kinda guy,  I was arrested over a dozen times before I turned 21.  Kept myself out of trouble for awhile, but had a couple runins just recently (mid 30s now).  In both cases the cops were professional and even compassionate.

Last year I was out of a job and on a bender.  Rode up to grocery to get more booze, but I was a little too early for them to sell; it was like 500am and they couldnt sell until 6am.  So I started walking around, "shopping" and drinking my beer and then went up to pay for my groceries and the empties.  The bitchass cashier called the cops.  They showed, were cool, and let me call my old man for a ride.  No big deal.

Just recently my wife miscarried and I drank all night again.  Next day (still sort of foggy you know from drinking a whole bottle) a cop in my neighborhood try to pull me over for going a little too fast.  Panicked and tried to fucking run it (old habits die hard).  Cops cited me, but didnt take me to jail.

In both cases the cops were genuinely interest in why someone like me was acting so stupid.  They could tell I was hurting.  And gave me a break.  And they didnt have to...

since ive had kids i dot dnrink much anyways.  i would tend to let things build up and just have "one of those nights".  but i think im done with it completely now.  ive always been an all or nothing type person.  so i havent had any in month and a half.  dont miss it anymore (sometimes i was nice to just have one or two).  just too old now with too much to lose...

been in a heated discussion with some people that call themselves "liberal" (which I disagree with, regarding classic liberalism)
they refused to see the problem of this miltarization of the Police. focussed on mormon Clive Bundy and decided he's evil.
and that's it. they still do.
they'll think it's racism, or like the MSM in my country said that the black kid tried to wrestle the gun from the police officer.
they'll be cheering when the orders come to round up all the dangerous "gun-people".
and they'll keep on cheering after they've been put in a FEMA camp themselves, for their own safety.

Civil War II is coming. The Progressives versus the Conservatives will certainly be part of it. So far their conflict has mostly consisted of wrangling over who gets to point the government guns at their ideological enemies. Lawfare. But make no mistake, this is a war. And soon enough it will show.

Viewed through the lens of warfare, an urban insurrection like Ferguson makes more sense. The Bantus made their show of force the first night. Ferguson PD made their show the 2nd night. This is part of the preliminaries to the multi-sided, multi-ethnic, multi-culti meltdown of the USSA, with the most aggressive members of the parties taking positions on the physical battlefield first.

Believe you me, Germans were happy to see Hitler's SA clean up the streets and throw out the trash. It was Hitler's domestic policy platform that got him largely elected.

If you were to poll Americans today if they would condem or condone the police's actions against looters etc., you would hear that a majority probably appreciate what the police does in Ferguson etc.

See how appreciative the public was in Boston literally rolling out the welcome mats for the Swat teams.

Given the right set of circumstances and the opportunity, I am convinced that Americans would raise their right arm and salute to the brown shirt police forces of today.

Sieg Heil USA!

Hitler and all these psychopaths are owned by the european banksters families.  They have been killing innocent people for centuries.  Germany got the worst of it because the German people were strong and finally finished off corrupt Rome.

This.  For most contact, chamber at least a 7.62mm round.  Doesn't matter if you are engaging in CQC or at >800 meters.  Your goal is to put that round on target, and knock your target out of the fight.  With a 7.62 or higher caliber round, it wont matter if your target is wearing a vest with a metal plate.  He'll be knocked down for a few minutes.

And even if they join the police force with the best of intentions, there is a cop culture to corrupt them plus PTSD to cause them to wig the fuck out.

And don't forget:  Taxpayer money is used to send many of those trained killers to a far away land to brush up on their skills.  A land where the locals like to drink Sabra liqueur.

I live in St. Louis, and there's a reason why I live in West County and don't venture North or East, and it sure isn't because of the police.  I understand the militarization of the police is concerning, but I'm far more concerned about the 35% of unemployed "Sub-Saharans" we have running around.

The author of the article showed his anti-white views by assuming there actually was racism in this case. We need a war against all progressives. They are evil and insane.

I read that the police officer that shot the kid in Ferguson was actually black.  This really is a people versus the government situation, in my opinoin, I just wish the rioters would turn their attention to the appropriate targets though.

You can be black and be racist against black people. The culture in the police force fosters a hatred of minorities.

"The culture in the police force fosters a hatred of minorities."

I like to look at it more as a culture that hates non-cops. Maybe in a racial descending order but make no mistake, the cops hate you regardless when they have the uniform on.

Or maybe...just maybe...cops, who deal with criminals on a daily basis, start to notice over years of experience that the color of crime is usually black.
