Ferguson As America: "There Is A Brewing Problem... And It's Extremely Dangerous"

Riots are have erupted with hundreds of protesters gathering at a suburban St. Louis police station on Monday demanding murder charges against an officer who shot to death an unarmed black teenager over the weekend. Looting just went nuts like the ’60s. While this is being painted as a race issue, there is yet another issue that is not being addressed – that is the militarization of the civil police forces around the country.
Ever since 911, there has been a trend moving toward much harsher local police. Here is a photo of how the Boston Police have militarized to the point it looks like war against the people. Even small towns are geared up for war.
The small town of Medford, Oregon with a population of 76,462 has spent millions of dollars to militarize their police. They have their own Swat Teams, yet no incident in history of some major shooting of such a nature to warrant a Swat Team. The entire reason where there was the Second Amendment was to eliminate this very threat of standing armies. We are seeing the abuse of force at every level. Medford Police bought a new vehicle that some say could survive a so-called the apocalypse. They used their Swat Team to go after a mere carjacker.
Medford, New Jersey with a population of just 23,033 also has a Swat Team. They rushed in and held two white kids on the ground at gun-point for shooting potatoes into a lake setting hair spray as the propellant.
The whole thing about standing armies has been their historical use out of boredom. It is a shame to pay for something and then not use it. Police use to be friendly as shown in Normal Rockwell’s classic painting. Sure there are a few good souls still left. But the attitudes have shifted to being just mean and nasty as they look at the civilian population as evil.
This is a problem that is brewing and is extremely dangerous to say the least. Examples of police abuse are all over the internet. There has been a loss of respect for the people and there seems to be no way to reverse this process.
They sprayed protesters in the eyes during Occupy Wall Street movements everywhere. The conduct has been outrageous. This killing of this black teen is not simply racism. The problems are much deeper. Claiming this is just racism deflects the entire issue and makes it simply black-v-white. This is something far more serious for it is impacting our entire society.
The protests over land was yet another example. The police showed up with weapons and told the people they would shoot to kill. The police are being transformed from protecting the public into protecting government from the public. Most do not even see what transformation they have gone through.

Even though the economy has somewhat stabilized (at least for the moment), levels of anger and frustration have continued to grow in this country. We have been taught to hate one another and to blame one another for our problems, and so now the U.S. is more divided than at any other point in recent memory. We live at a time when things are so tense that even a small spark can light an absolutely huge fire. America has become a tinderbox. Next time it might not be a racially-charged shooting. Next time it might be an Ebola outbreak that sparks looting and panic. Or it might be some sort of financial collapse. We just don't know.
But what we do know is that there are lots and lots of people that are willing to riot and loot and commit unspeakable crimes given the right circumstances.
Decades of social decay have gotten us to the point where the thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted every single day is wearing dangerously thin.
The truth is that it is not going to take much to push this nation over the edge.
If this kind of rioting can take place in a community with just over 20,000 people, what would a full-blown riot look like in a city with millions of people?
That is a very sobering thing to think about.
Once upon a time in America, you could leave your doors unlocked at night and you could let your kids play in the streets without ever having to worry.
But now we are a sick, decaying nation that has millions of people ready to riot and loot at the drop of a hat.
Is there any hope for us?

Even if that is true, IIRC there is a precept of common law that states that once the threat is gone, there is no more justification for violence. We don't know if the kid was actually trying to get the gun. We don't know if the kid was actually running away before any shots were fired. In fact, if ANY shots were fired after the kid started running away, that is unjustified, laws to the contrary notwithstanding.

Show me one instance where Whites started looting stores in response to a police incident. In this particular case the dead black 18 year old assaulted the officer and pushed him into his patrol car as he wrestled for the officer's gun. He then ran to ascape arrest for assaulting an officer. The shoot was perfectly legal. Had I been on the scene with a carry permit I would have intervened to aid the officer (I would have shot the perp!)
These incidents are motivated by black racism against whites.
Back in the 1960s we were told that the races are equal. But we have since learned that poor whites to not mass in racially motivated mob riots to loot and burn stores, and they do not engage flash mob looting of stores nor in the knock out game or other racially motivated assaults on a mass scale.

Look, Obama said he wanted some sort of domestic force equally as strong as our military forces (and without the restrictions of posse comitatus). Is anyone truly surprised by this change in policing as equipment, training, attitudes, steroid abuse and even personel are transferred from our military structure to domestic law enforcement agencies and DHS? As the Colonel up in CT asked his town council, "What does every community in America need an MRAP for?" The entire psychology of LE is changing to deal with changing demographics and increasing population. However, there will never be enough LEOs to contain the eventual blowback. The underlying problem is that society is fragmenting, and these increasingly heavy-handed tactics only tend to isolate more citizens which will hasten the rupture and increase the violence on all sides. Humans are tribal folks.
What is even more sickening is the only reason to have a military is to protect the border. We have probably a 1.5 million people in the military, DHS, and all the other agencies doing nothing for America.

On a related topic, one study I read pointed out that if only 3% of the US population rioted at any given time, there would not be enough LEOs (both local, state, and federal combined) and military (all branches, all ranks) to field the necessary force to put down the riots. This was based upon a historical study of manpower requirements per rioter to quell disturbance looking back over a thirty year period. One riot required a turnout of one LEO per almost every two rioters! Three percent seems to be the tipping point where things begin to spiral out of control quickly.
Recipe for disaster:

I live in the outskirts East of the Dallas metroplex... but, 50 mi out of the city.... I live 7mi from the closest store and my only internet connection is broadband 4GLTE....
Out here, the county police are very nice and respectful. I don't live in the city limits on purpose but, my only experience with the county guys have all been positive.
I've also lived in the Bay Area of Calif. when I was getting my career off the ground... The cops there are horrible.... it's us against them... it's getting manhandled for a traffic stop... it's bad out there.....
I'm so happy to be in rural Texas with a high tech job. I can shoot my 300wm off the back deck into the pasture... raise animals... have a garden and still get into work when I need to go in.

I'm currently on co-op water but, I have a pond on the property. Rates are usually from 35-50.00/mo. which may seem like a lot but, I have livestock etc. and live an a small ( hobby ) farm. Our water is from the aquifer which is well water. It's been good clear tasteless water.
I'm thinking of drilling a well... I've researched it a bit and there's a minor aquifer under me... but, you have to drill almost 600' to get to it so, a well won't be cheap to install.
We do use a lot of water out here.... It'd be nice to just pay for the electricity to pump it out of the ground.
Not sure about any fracking being done in the area... don't seem to have any oil drilling where I'm at.

I never had trouble with cops, but much of the city was off limits to me, especially after dark, due to racially motivated black violence. Suburban Whites who have good real estate are delusional.

But when I was 18 before I went into the service, I ended up in front of a house in Denver in early 1980s, was asked if I wanted to drink a beer from the keg, then it turned racial when someone asked me why was I drinking their beer? Obviously I wasn't there to provoke anyone, was quietly trying to enjoy the company of the young guys (me white, and them black)... but people don't all drink happy. Brown, Black, Yellow, White, some of us get morose and angry when we drink. Short Story, I was bailed out by my female friend that told me not to drink and just stay there in front of the house.
