That's the first thought I always have when someone is shot by police:  "damn, well this is as good a time as any to loot and pillage!"

redpill's picture

You police are so corrupt and unfair that I think I'll I'll I'll....trash my neighbor's convenience store who is not a cop and has nothing to do with any of this!  So there!

john39's picture

this is a bit misleading... Hazelwood is an independent police depart.  St. Louis County is a seperate force, though there is some jurisdictional overlap.

boogerbently's picture

I'm 60, and always told my 3 sons, growing up, there is only 2 things you ever say to a cop.

Yes sir. OR No sir.

bonderøven-farm ass's picture
Blind obedience? You've raised slaves, not men.

More appropriately, they should be asking, "Am I under arrest" and/or "Am I free to go".

No less.

+1,000,000,000,000,000 -- NEVER submit to these policy enforcers, they are NO longer Peace Officers!!!

MrPalladium's picture

Why do the Tyler's keep refering to this as a "Murder." By all accounts it was no such thing.

SWRichmond's picture

Listening now...should I join you and leap to conclusions before all the evidence is in?

MillionDollarBogus_'s picture

Mr, because that's what Tyler wants.

They want to see this situation spin way out of control.

They want to see more mayhem.

They want to see ISIS blow up the Mosul dam.

The more chaos and mayhem, the more the ZH prime directive is served.

BLOTTO's picture

In order to be a cop you need to have a certain attitude...and usually that attitude is one i don't click with.

chumbawamba's picture

It used to be you knew the cops in your neighborhood, and they were there to protect you because they lived next door or down the street on on the next block and they had an interest in keeping their community.  They got your cat out of the tree and they kept the punks in line.

Now, cops are just doing a job, there's no connection with the population, and they could give a shit about you.  Hell, they aren't even required to help you, even if you're being raped.

This is what you asked for, America.  And you got it.

I am Chumbawamba.

dubbleoj's picture

see our fellow americans getting paid to harass, murder and rob us on a daily basis on behalf of the masters. There are many good cops, but until they stand up against the rest they are part of the problem. there is no service, only revenue.

bob_stl's picture

"Anonymous Releases Audio..." Give me a break. Anonymous didn't "release" this. They may have spliced it, but anyone can get archived copies of police dispatchers all over the country on public websites.

Now I am absolutely convinced they are CIA trying to accelerate the martial law plans.

The world is on fire and you want to shoot the messenger. Any propaganda they put out is more than made up for by the content. They do have an agenda - it's called.... ? (Meaningful liberty in an orderly society?)

I hate a police state as much as the next zhedger, but those people should not riot and loot innocent businesses and endanger other law abiding citizens. Now the cops are forced to go commando. protest all day and night in front of the precinct. Stupid violence and mayem will just invite more authoritarianism from the police. Come on, people.

Action; reaction.  Who caused the first injury?

What's more unlawful: looting and pillage, or shooting someone dead without cause?

Who threw the first stone?

"It was around 1:40, two o'clock. We were walking down the street, empty street. We were just walking down, minding our business. We're both headed home, and the officer's approaching us, and as he pulled up on the side of us, he didn't say 'freeze,' 'halt,' or nothing like we were committing a crime. He said, 'Get the fuck on the sidewalk!' I told the officer we were not but a minute away from the destination."
"He never once attempted to grab for this officer's weapon."
"The first car I see, I ducked behind for cover because I feared for my life. I'm scared. I don't know what's going on. I don't understand why this officer is shooting his weapon at us."
"My friend stopped running, his hands went immediately in the air and he turned around towards the officer, face-to-face. He started to tell the officer he was unarmed and that you should stop shooting me. Before he can get his second sentence out, the officer fired several more shots into his head and chest areas."
"It was definitely like being shot like an animal. It was almost putting someone execution."

Don't get caught up on the answer, because it's not the right question.

When we're born, we are pure and innocent.  No one is born evil.  I don't believe that.  Somewhere along the way we learn and acquire it.

However, evil doesn't exist.  Evil is merely the absence of good.  The reason there is so much evil in the world is because there is too little good.

Eliminating evil is easy: do something good today, and everyday.

I am Chumbawamba.

Judging by Obama's and the Cops' reaction, and Anonymous involvement, the government wants this to escalate to justify another rehearsal of Martial Law AKA "Shelter in Place".

Anonymous is a red herring. For me the tell was when just days after a Malaysian hacker stole documents from a UK security contractor server with evidence they were being engaged to stage a chemichal weapons attack in Syria, Anonymous released the "supreme court warheads" video with emotional soundtrack saying they would release information as payback for Aaron Swartz... and so far, this so called information has gone the way of Wikileaks BofA hard drive.

The US empire has always been the Empire of Chaos. It thrived by fomenting chaos abroad. In its death throes, it is only logicel they will use the only play they know to try and extend its life a bit longer.

All you need is love.

Sheriffs (and deputies) are the only lawful law enforcement.  Police are policy enforcers as said.  You do not have to contract with them or the city.  (They never were peace officers.  Only now is their mission changing.)

chumbawamba's picture

If that was true then sheriff's deputies would not be enforcing policy.  In California, Government Code sections 26600-26616 specify the duties of the Sheriff.  There is no mention of enforcing codes.  Yet sheriff's deputies in California routinely hand out traffic tickets and perform other silly code enforcement that is supposed to be left up to the policy (police) officers.

Police officers are private security for incorporated municipalities.  It's just like IBM setting up shop in your town and hiring some private goons to police their premises.  They have authority and jurisdiction on IBM property but outside that they are merely private citizens.  It's the same with the city police, employees of a corporation.  So why do the police enforce codes on you if you're not an employee of the city?

Or...are you?

I am Chumbawamba.

For those who haven't seen it - here is a great lesson on why you NEVER speak to the cops regarding an investigation without representation:

Eager Beaver's picture

Good observation on the raising of compliant slaves, agreed on that point! But have to disagree on what you say to the cops, there are three things you say to the cops:

1) Am I being detained officer, or am I free to go? (Used in respond to almost every question they ask, except the two below.)

2) I do not consent to ANY searches. (Used if they ask to see ANYTHING; inside your car, inside your personal belongings, your cell phone, your pockets, your back pack, whatever.)

3) I reserve all of my rights, including the right to remain silent. (If they tell you that you are being detained in answer to question 1 above, and then shut up and say nothing else until you have a lawyer, no matter how tempting.)

The above guidelines are suspended if they shoot or tase you, in that case feel free to scream and writhe in pain.

boogerbently's picture

I've taught them to understand that in the street, the cops have the advantage.

Any resistance, and you end up like the Ferguson......child.

Penniless Spectator's picture

I used to subscribe to that view sir, but I can no longer trust the RCMP to ”maintain the right" as their motto purports. Unless it refers to the right wing agenda, which they are fully maintaining.

palmereldritch's picture

Their motto should be "preserve the freedom" but then again that wouldn't be true as we know who they serve...

But the bastards all go home sometime. That's the time to get even.

Jlasoon's picture

Last time I was pulled over I refused to even talk to the officer. Was going 32 in a 25. My wife who was in the passengers seat did all the talking. Officer couldn't figure out why I wasn't talking.

These cockroaches will shed their uniforms or hang from light posts in the not too distant future. Outside of the black and blue community, does anyone really care about these guys?

"To Protect and Serve" my ass. These douches have been protecting politicians from the public since Peeler and his Metropolitan Police Act of 1829.

Chief KnocAHoma's picture

Cops have a hard job. Granted some are lazy Barney fife douche bags, but some aren't. I would not do that job for that pay.

SilverIsMoney's picture

Agree but it's not the laziness that bothers me, I would prefer lazy cops honestly... it's the roid raging supercops that need to go.

Statetheist's picture

All cops must go as all government must go.

BobPaulson's picture

Absolutely. They have a hard job. The hardest part of the job is to not get prison guard syndrome and hate everybody. Human brains do not process statistics well, so when you see the bottom 1% of society 90% of the time, you have to work very hard to think they are not a random sample of the entire population.

Right now, the trainers of these people are actually making this worse, not better. That is the main problem.

The Big Ching-aso's picture

Uh, I think you meant to say they have to work very hard to think they are a random sample, no? Otherwise in context I don't get the gist, logic, whatever.

BobPaulson's picture

Basically saying that if you almost always see criminals, it's hard for your mind to NOT assume everybody is a criminal.

how to talk to cops...4 words...i don't answer questions...

Yes, Sir?

No, Sir!

I don't care, Arnold Schwarzenegger is as american as it gets. Vote him into office, b/c "what difference at this point..."

SWRichmond's picture

I told both of our children while they were minors: during any confrontation with school authorities or police the only words I wanted to hear coming out of their mouths were these, and only these, regardless of how they were threatened or offered a chance to talk their way out if only they would 'just tell the truth': "I want to talk to my parents".

First There Is A Mountain's picture

You make me sick.....I'm guessing you taught them to be "See Something, Say Something" kind of people, too?

still kicking's picture

It's called protecting yourself dumbass, you say yes sir no sir and walk away then deal with the shit on your terms instead of mouthing off and getting shot or choked to death.

SWCroaker's picture

Dealing with the police is always a situation that can get you killed.  You kill them, and you're a cop killer with the weight of the world trying to put you 6' under; they kill you and the "officer involved shooting" is likely to go down in the books as your choice of "suicide by cop".

Being in the right is only of incidental relevance, if assured survival is also in your list of goals.

RafterManFMJ's picture

Sir? Please.

It's "Officer" and nothing else...why in Hell would you dignify with a "Sir?"

Officer, am I being detained?
Officer, am I free to go?

OTOH, a sure way to have a fun night:

Where are you coming from tonight?
Your mother's house, officer.
