He said there were no arrests because cops were ordered to stand down. Assaults and property crimes were ignored in order to provide a feel good story for this morning's news.

Read an account from a 20 year NYPD policeman. Says that in most scuffles, the "perp" knows that he is being stopped for something that would put him behind bars for a plus longtemps. People seem to be losing track of the issues here: The issues are: 1) Was the stop/arrest by the officer justified?
2) Was deadly force justified after the stop/arrest – for each and every shot?
And 3) Were appropriate steps taken after the shooting to provide necessary aid afterwards?
Brown could’ve had stolen shit falling out of his pockets and it has nothing to do with issues 2 or 3.
Brown could've gone straight for the officer's gun, and it would have nothing to do with issue 1 or 3.

Here's the deal: As long as Big Mike was reasonably perceived to be an immanent threat to officer Willson's life, officer Wildson was justified in utilizing deadly force - and yes that means shooting him until his gun ran dry - be that 6 shots, only 5, or even 17. Hell, if Big Mike were raging all hopped-up on PCP, it could even mean a reload and another volley of 17.
BUT, at such point as Big Mike is on his knees with hands up, or flat on his back unconscious, additional shots would be an unjustified use of excessive force and possibly constitute murder.
Furthermore, once Big Mike was down, officer Wilson had a duty to radio in and call for medical assistance.
Whether officer Wilson's course of conduct is "reasonable" will likely be questions for the prosecutor/grand jury - and ultimately for the triers of fact in the upcoming criminal and civil trials - none of which have anything to do with my experience with potentially life threatening situations.

Couple of things. That video could have been introduced as evidence in a court of law. Until a jury of his peers found him guilty he is still innocent (before the law).
The punishment for a strong arm robbery is not summary execution.
However, if he did attack the cop and the cop fired the first shot while being attacked, I would say excessive force is the only thing that could be claimed.
Tough call on this one, as everyone involved is basing action on emotion.

Look, I HATE cops (i rarely use the term hate as it steals energy to hate, and I have enough energy drains in life) more than most, but if violence was initiated by the victim, the officer would (probably) be justified in using deadly force.
There are much clearer examples of the thug culture rampant in our "police." From being bought as bank security (while retaining full authority) to shooting unarmed kids, flash bangs in cribs, flash bangs period for that matter, or using phony cell towers to spy on us without warrants.
This case, however it might gin up emotion, is a poor example of calculated police infringement on our rights.

Suburban white boy, 5' 8" 165 lbs here. I went to the ghetto last night to hang out with a friend who lives out there. He is stuck in the ghetto thanks to his exwife taking everything he has. We are both white. Non of us had a problem there at all. In fact, I was more concerned about the police in that area since I dare had a couple of drinks and then had to drive home.

I love the firemen. Some of the town cops are friends.
But aside from going around checking house alarms that go off when the residents are at their Cape Cod homes or picking up the mess from some rich white kid blowing his brains out, they do not do much.
