It Begins: Ukraine Troops Destroy Part Of "Armed" Russian Convoy, Stocks Crash

Reuters reports,
Ukrainian artillery destroyed a "significant" part of a Russian armoured column that crossed into Ukraine during the night, President Petro Poroshenko told British Prime Minister David Cameron on Friday, according to the presidential website.
Separately, a Ukrainian military spokesman said Ukrainian forces had tracked the Russian armoured column as soon as it crossed onto Ukrainian soil."Appropriate actions were undertaken and a part of it no longer exists," military spokesman Andriy Lysenko told journalists.

While the white trucks came to a halt well short of Ukraine's border, a different Russian convoy did cross into Ukrainian territory late on Thursday evening.
The Guardian saw a column of 23 armoured personnel carriers, supported by fuel trucks and other logistics vehicles with official Russian military plates, travelling towards the border near the Russian town of Donetsk.
After pausing by the side of the road until nightfall, the convoy crossed into Ukrainian territory, using a rough dirt track and clearly crossing through a gap in a barbed wire fence that demarcates the border. Armed men were visible in the gloom by the border fence as the column moved into Ukraine.
Kiev has lost control of its side of the border in this area.
The trucks are unlikely to represent a full-scale official Russian invasion, and it was unclear how far they planned to travel inside Ukrainian territory and how long they would stay. But it was incontrovertible evidence of what Ukraine has long claimed – that Russian troops are active inside its borders.

The armoured column seen by the Guardian appeared to be further evidence of Russia's incursions, which the Kremlin has repeatedly denied.

This is just like the Ukrainian shoot-down of MH17 - which we now know from photographic evidence taken of the cockpit area that it was shot down by the Ukrainian SU-25s trailing the flight. The cockpit area of the fuselage is riddled with 30mm cannon fire - exactly the arms these fighters use.There is absolutely no credible evidence of a BUK missile explosion - which would have vaporized the cockpit area.
And where are the air traffic controller tapes the Ukrainians promptly hijacked? Where is the Spanish ATC "Carlos" who diverted the flight 300 miles north to fly over the war zone? Where are the US satellite photos that the government won't release that where taken directly over the incident area at the exact time of the incident? Where is the military chat between ground controllers of the Ukrainian AF and the SU-25s? How do you explain the photographic evidence of graze marks on the wings headed directly towards the cockpit area?
And why were all these photos scrubbed off Google (which is "doing lots of evil" as an arm of the NSA / CIA / MIC) so the public can't get to them any longer?

2. If you bought to "Invest", you're a moron. And your "Adviser" is either a moron also, or (more likely) a self-serving, commission-taking bastard, whose lame ass you should fire. PM is a hedge, an Insurance Policy, but not an "Investment" per se, as it does nor "earn" a return or pay dividends. People who call it an "investment" are playing fast and loose with words, and are dangerous to themselves and others. Best to avoid them.
3. If you bought Bullion to mitigate Money Printing, i.e., with the mistaken (and now sadly and very naive) assumption that PM prices would remain "tightly coupled" to the Money Supply (Money/Currency creation, aka QE), then you've been exposed as a naive fool. A fool, who probably listened to shills, other "naive fools with influence" (some high-profile Libertarians), or was taken for a ride by agenda-driven or self-serving opportunists. Look at it this way: In the post-2008 Crony/Casino Capitalist world we live -- a world of QE that will defend the Dollar to the End -- why would Gold/Silver not be manipulated along with EVERYTHING else? Seriously... a seasoned investor already has a well-diversified portfolio in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary assets, that are also diversified by global geography, etc.
If that portfolio already has, say, 15-20% in PM bullion (Gold, Silver, and Palladium and Platinum) that you bought during the Big Dip that we've had for over a year, there is nothing that needs to be done to that "Insurance Policy", unless it goes way down or way up. Which seems highly unlikely for as long as TPTB keep PM in a Sideways Market that they control/manipulate.
If you got out of the market a 1-2 years ago, you will feel and look like a Doomsday Fool, because you were 100% wrong: No gains in PM realized, and gains in stocks missed. You should have DIVERSIFIED, instead of having panicked. BTW, when a person "Diversifies" they make a rational decision to... Mitigate Risk. When they panic, they make an emotional decision, to satisfy deep, inner fears, and Risk goes way up.
As for Primary or Secondary assets, if you have them, enjoy them. BTW, as a number of others have said here many times, as long as Baby Boomers don't have to sell, they won't. Whatever happened, the Fed has not reacted yet. For stocks to stay up and UST yields to stay down, will require direct Fed intervention in equities. They'll have to print the money fleeing to USTs.
There's a lot of other shit going on in the banking world, and we have to keep in mind that something else might be coming unsprung that caused gold to get slammed. There are too many frauds, lies and secrecy for us to really know what is going on.
