It's A Funny Old World - One Little Old Russian Convoy

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Ben Hunt of Salient Partners Epsilon Theory blog,

You know what I've noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan". Even if the plan is horrifying. If, tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan" But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds!
The Joker, “The Dark Knight” (2008)

Dick Grayson:

Gosh, Economics is sure a dull subject.

Bruce Wayne:

Oh, you must be jesting, Dick. Economics dull? The glamour, the romance of commerce ... Hmm. It's the very lifeblood of our country's society."

Batman: TV Series" (1967)

It’s a funny world when stocks can soar on a -6.8% Japanese GDP print but stumble when a Russian armored personnel carrier finds itself on the wrong end of a Ukrainian howitzer shell. That’s what you get, though, in the Golden Age of the Central Banker, as all events are filtered through the narrative of central bank control. Weak Japanese GDP was “part of the plan”, to quote both The Joker and Prime Minister Abe, or at least the revised plan after the new sales tax pulled economic activity forward in Q1, and besides, this weakness just means that “help from the BOJ may be on the way”, to quote the WSJ.  Direct artillery fire on a Russian APC column in Ukrainian territory, on the other hand … well, that’s not part of anyone’s plan. It’s a significant escalation in both Russian provocation and Ukrainian response, an escalation that for the first time illuminates a warpath that no amount of central bank jawboning can derail or recast in a market-positive light.

Is this the path we’re headed down? I doubt it. There’s enough plausible deniability in the construction of this “humanitarian aid convoy” (which may or may not have some serious armament underneath those green canvas truck covers), such that both Russia and Ukraine can return to the regularly scheduled entertainment of indirect warfare through the Donetsk proxies. And so long as the fighting simmers through proxies the sanctions won’t be life-threatening to either the Russian or German economies. The economic pain is annoying, for sure, but not so overwhelming as to be catastrophic or impervious to Draghi’s tender ministrations.

But three months ago I really thought Putin would call it a day with a Crimean annexation and just enough low-level insurgency in the rest of Russian-speaking Ukraine to keep the latest cohort of kleptomaniacs in Kiev on their toes. Instead, we’re seeing Russian-supported advanced surface-to-air missile capabilities and uniformed Russian “escorts” for supply convoys, and there’s nothing low-level about that.

And as recently as two weeks ago I would have sooner challenged Tony Stewart to a dirt-track race than challenge Draghi’s determination to push forward more and more market-pleasing monetary easing policies. Instead, we got last week’s ECB press conference, where just as he did in the spring of 2012 Draghi threatened to withhold monetary easing beyond the already announced TLTRO program unless Italy and France moved forward with structural economic reforms and commensurate fiscal consolidation.

It all just goes to show how futile any sort of crystal-ball reading effort is in the politically fractured world of 1914 … ummm, sorry, I meant to write 2014. My bad. But regardless of what century you’re in, when political stability breaks down, market stability is never far behind. We’re not there yet, as the Golden Age of the Central Banker provides a wonderful political tranquilizer in the West. But the East, whether it’s China or Russia, isn’t taking the same medicine, and that’s where we should be looking for sources of political instability large enough to wake the Red King from its long sleep.

Good choice of opening quotes from the author, except that expecting a meaningful predictability of outcomes in a centrally faked (not planned, fucking faked) system is totally silly. It's like going to a professional cycling race without being loaded up on all the latest cheating techniques.

As long as QE4ever, the BTFATH train rides the exponential tracks and everyone thinks they're "making money" all the time, until there are no buyers.

Regardless of any other event, I would venture with >60% confidence that the party ends the day Comex can't delivery phyzz.

well its more than 36 hours after the most escalatory 'news' story since MH17 - and there is absolutely NO followup news story by any mainstream media outlet that i have seen, beyond the initial imageless claims

even BBC whose 'reporters' triggered the story does not seem to carry the story anymore. hmmm.

that silence you hear? that is the collective embarrasment of the warmongering MSM

every week like forever the ukraine oligarch junta has claimed the russinas were or just about to invade.

i don't believe one word of this, do you think the russians would be so stupid as to mount an invasion with a few APCs or trucks and then just leave when some of these got torched?

The Media is the Message

and the message is to bombard the population with all sorts of 'crises' stories. Hit 'em from as many directions as possible:  MH17, Gaza, Ebola, ISIS, convoy to Ukraine, Ferguson MO, Japan, US economy etc, etc, etc  Accusations are made. . . . But there's never any follow-up, just more crises stories.

The objective is to created a sense of unease and panic. Out of disorder they can offer the 'solution' of . . . . . Order.

The news aggregators fit right into their strategy by passing on the latest 'news'. But the aggregators don't control the volume and pace at which those stories are spread. They just pass it on, so they are perfect (though likely unwitting) psyop tools.

What will they come up 'new, different, and dangerous' next week ?

Everything will be clear if you consider the top government officials outside of Obummer and Vlad Putin as following a script written for Inspector Clouseau.  In the Pink Panther movie, Chief Inspector Dreyfus says "Give me ten men like Clouseau and I could destroy the world."  So, you have the like of Yellen, Draghi, Biden and Pelosi, total incompetents in the Clouseau mold.  Obummer and Vlad know what is really going on, as New World Order types attempt to consolidate hegemony over the world.  As an example, on Wednesday, 12 September 2001, a small jet turbine engine was found lying on Barclay Street right by Ground Zero at Vesey Street.  Someone placed the jet engine (minus most of its cowling) in a wire mesh trash can, where it was photographed before vanishing.  What was a drone engine doing by the ruins of the World Trade Center?  Don't expect the FBI or anyone in Congress to give you an answer to that question.

Yes, the lone turbine, most likely from a cruise missile, or other 'unpublished' blackops version. Very similar to the ONE (only) spotted on the lawn at the Pentangle.

Good analysis of the flight paths, yes paths x2, of the civilian radar track and the military radar track of UA175. About 1000 feet apart, but parallel. Could be explained by differences in the RADES radar system being further away from the towers, but could equally be a parallel flight of a cloaked 'projector' of the 'aircraft' that hit South Tower. http://www.richplanet.net/911.php

Around 50 vids are known to exist (possibly more were 'bought up' by various agencies/networks and subsequently 'buried'. Don't know if one of these is from the 'dancing Israelis' who were 'documenting the event'), and all these have been analysed by Richard D Hall and plotted on a 3D computer model of WTC and NYC. Good work with a downloadable viewer that you can DIY your viewpoint.

Conclusion is that a commercial 767 could not have achieved the approx 580mph at sea level (physically impossible), so a missile strike is more likely. And cruise missiles have the operational max at in exactly that range.

Cloaked aircraft like TR3B are appear to be (no pun intended) operational since the '90s. And 'skunkworx' technology is decades ahead of what we know. Includes recent long interview with Ed Fouche. http://www.richplanet.net/starship_main.php?ref=184&part=1 (also see archive Ed Fouche lecture:Former Area 51 Employee Ed Fouche  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBtRrmzQs8M 1 of 7 ).

Quite possible that there is a platform that carries both a warhead AND image generator. ie APPEARS to the naked eye as something other than it is. Sounds like a good plan, and would fit will with all the other illusions that we are being fed in politricks, markets, currencies, social engineering etc. Could also explain why so many chemtrailing 'planes' look transparent, and a 90% antigrav 600ft triangle could load a lot of gunk. 3D realtime holograms for lectures, and concerts already exist:

One small turbine fan vs 4 fairly indestructible titanium engines from the non-767 that had the best chance of any metal surviving the molecular disassociation (dustification) of the rest of the WTC (no 'object' larger that a phone keypad, and a crushed filing cabinet found in the small amount of debris that should have been the remnants of a 110 story building- about 12% height).  http://wheredidthetowersgo.com/

The scale, both physically and psychologically of the destruction of the WTC, not to mention the launch of the 'you are either with us or you are the enemy' phase of the planned global gulag, is confirmed as 'The New Pearl Harbour' flagged up by PNAC, IMHO. As such, it's necessary to 'think outside the box' on this one, supported by hard evidence of such robust critical analysis of Architects and Engineers for 911 Truth and Pilots for 911 Truth.http://www.911truth.org/ http://www.ae911truth.org/ http://www.pilotsfor911truth.org/

Indeed. We all know that market action is all filtered through one question, "How does the event, or economic print, impact on Central Bank Policy". The Fed has driven nearly every bit of the bull market, bad news means more liquidity printed, means that money needs a home, means stocks drive higher. Terrible news mean more Central Bank intervention. Traders simply follow the Fed and ride their money printing to the moon. I know several family members who make no bones about trading the Fed. Their play is to always ask, "What will the Fed do". So far, they have ridden that trade sky high.

I mean, it's totally fucking fake, no price discovery, no response to the real economy. The game is all about central bank intervention.

Oh, and so far no human has yet produces a photo or video or one dead Russian from the so called invasion convoy. Yet, once the lie has been sown, it sits in the fertile ground of Western Media who are corporate military contractor's whores, even being owned by major defense industry corporations. The liars can always fool the American people, shame on the AMerican people. What has become of freedom and informed consent to government policy???

Greasy Weasel Alert!

Yeah, but Shaun Walker is back with us today.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/aug/16/ukraine-fighters-russia-top...

Yep, and look how the cunning little rodent is trying to slink away from acknowledging that he was one of the two reporters that tried to start a war with a fabricated story of a Russian invasion:

Journalists for the Guardian and Daily Telegraph observed a convoy of armoured vehicles accompanied by trucks with Russian military plates crossing over the border on Thursday night. Ukraine said it had destroyed part of a Russian column later that night, but did not provide any evidence. Russia denied any incursion had taken place.

Notice that he didn't take credit for anything. It was "journalists" that observed.

Also note how he highlights the lack of evidence provided by the Ukrainian government. This is a subtle attempt to manipulate the reader into remembering only that the Ukrainians provided no evidence. Forget about the "journalists" who "observed" things.

He also has to point out that Russia denied crossing the border. Of course, they are a former Soviet republic that was ruled by commies 25 years ago, and everyone knows that none of those can be trusted..... well, except for the ones in NATO.

So remember, folks, the Ukrainians provided no evidence and the Russians denied everything. If any part of the story is untrue, it is the fault of Ukraine or Russia. The "journalists", whose names we don't recall at the moment but probably didn't include Shaun Walker, only reported what they "observed".

To add to the baiting otherwise known as "plausible deniability"...

"As noted below, Ukraine, which has no money to waste, bought some surplus T-72 tanks from Hungary a couple weeks ago. Ukraine no longer uses the T-72, but the Russians do. It appears that Ukraine may have tried to plant the Hungarian T-72s near the Ukraine border, repainted to look like Russian forces, then bombed them, trying to create a Gleiwitz-style hoax to trick the world into thinking Russia had invaded.

But again, look for what should be there and isn't, and what isn't there is a REASON for Russia to invade Ukraine, knowing that will open the door to the war clearly desired by the US and EU to save the dollar and the Euru from the Rouble."...

I'm not sure on the timeline, but I believe the Hungary tank deal is only now on the train cars headed to Ukraine. Perhaps too early to use in this false flag lie. Hungary is selling tanks and some MIGS and also Helicopter gun ships to a broke Ukraine. Most likley American money is buying these weapons.

This begs the question. "If Hungary can arm Ukraine in a civil war, then what right has anyone to deny the same right to Russia?" Of course this is where the Eu and USA try to impose the Double Standard clause of world affairs. The West is entitled to any actions, because they are the West, Russia is limited by international law and UN mandates. Double standards declared official American policy by Obama. He says that due to the exceptional nature of Americans, that no earthly law pertains to them, while American has the duty to impose strickt standards on Russia. All this is because all mankind MUST accept the American Exceptionalism. This is the exact legal argument Hitler's Germany used to lay waste to Europe.

Georgia, which had an Israeli Defense Minister at the time, had been very heavy handed with 2 breakaway republics, which, given the fuckery that took place in Kosovo, would seem to have had a right to enjoy independence too.  The conflict, however, was frozen, with the help of Russian peacekeepers.

Then Georgia's Usraeli masters decided - why not resume the attack and kill 16 Russian peacekeepers.

Then, cunts like you cried "ow, they're hitting us" when Russia decided that enough was enough.

I agree that "American Exceptionalism" is the propaganda being used to hide and justify Israel's actions and use of their DC US bulldog in the benefit of Greater Israel. But there's an even bigger picture than 'greater USrAhell', that also uses the belief in/of 'Israel and jews' as tools. It currently has the tag: Zionism/Zionazism, but could be that the good ole'fashioned yin/yang, hot/cold, black/white, good/bad dipolar model that we've invented as a construct needs to be improved.

EVERY coloniser in history considers themselves superior to the colonised, and racism can be found in all cultures and all races. Have travelled in every continent (except Antarctica so cant speak about penguins vs seals) and seen and heard it with my own eyes and ears. What I'm witnessing here in the 20c and 21c is the establised 'elite' money/secret-society families/collectives led by the banking class/institutions doing what the Romans and the English tried before, and suggest that if they had the technology, weaponary, mobility, Total Information Awareness and Full Spectrum Dominance back then that the US-fronted Imperium claims today, they may very well have suceeded. This however is the epoch of transhumanism and 'the rise of the machines' (see www.2045.com). The end game is the battle of organic vs inorganic. Hence the 'war machine'. Big pic: Does 'Skynet' become 'conscious'?

I have no doubt that any 'race' that considers themselves superior over all other races, religions and tribes, will justify ANY behaviour to further their own ends at the expense of every other expendable individual or group that is not smart enough an/or strong enough to resist/compete (superior vs inferior). The ultra competetive 'winner takes all' attitude that is so heavily promoted in the US (the ENERGY, not the result, of which I loved when I visited the US - the feeling that swept me up when I stepped off the plane that 'anything was achievable') has been co-opted by a very secretive self-selected few hundreds that are attempting to colonise the entire planet, under the descripted cloak of 'NWO'.

Every blue team/red team model being played out seems to be a 'divide and conquer' strategy, from sport to politics, to religion, to nations to tribes. Look back through history, and the same game has played out. Cornball as it may sound, and with absolutely no more confidence or trust in any 'system' that is organised by humans, I'm asking guidance from the cosmos (appeal to the stars at night), hoping that there's some kind of 'superior plan' that includes the survival of the best of humanity, and that filters the less-than-best like one of those survival straws on prepper sites.

I've even considered that humans are placed on the 'blue bowling ball' as actors in the powerplay between 'God' and 'Devil', that we are all 'dual citizens' who struggle with our 'good-side' and 'bad-side', as I know my jewish friends (have no Zionist friends) do, even on the subject of whether Israel should be a 'state'. All of us end up 'feeding the worms' or ash (death being the 'great leveller'), and all share the two most significant events in our lives, birth and death (even the hatchlings). Both 'Synagogue of Satan' and crISIS actors apparently love their children (enough to take them to 'combat' zones and give them shrunken heads to horrify the gullible with).

May seem that the 'devil' is getting the upper hand on the face of it, but do not under-estimate the power of light that is shining in and from so many awoken hearts around the world as the truth of the deception and deceipt being foisted upon us for so long is revealed. If the (human) planet is reverting to the dark ages and the primitive brain, reducing to the 'light vs dark', good vs 'evil', God vs Devil' duality state, my choice is for good. Great coincidence that LED technology has arrived at this point in history. Small, energy efficient and powerful for disolving the darkness in The Electric Omniverse.

Frequency is all. Surrender the ego to charitable works and acts, kindness, generousity, compassion etc, then stay fit ready to defend yourself, mentally, physically, psycologically and spiritually. Have faith friends... trust, hope and smarts. It's private, networked, and cant be spied on.

I like what my other half told me this morning: trust no-one, love everyone.

just my 2c to the omniverse, and you anonymous ZH mates (oh, and my nsa avatar...by the way fuck you nsa and 5-eyes, you perverts. keyholes are for keys, not pervs)

BTW, Q to my cousins...what's the law in your country about requiring a crime to be reported? If a spy agency, or individual ie employee  witnesses/records a crime, and DOESN'T report it, what's the procedure for their prosecution? For example if a judge/politician/military/other was set up or caught kiddie porning, terrorising, bombing, stealing etc, and the evidence was used for say blackmail rather than turned over to law enforcement (I know, just humor me for a moment), what charges could be brought against those who DIDN'T report/whistleblow? Is this a way to filter the judicary on whom we depend for justice in a system based and law and order, under the principle of ALL EQUAL UNDER THE LAW. If we're to accept a juristiction between our soverign selves and our creator, it must include that fundiment IMHO. Uncorruptible jurisprudence, following the laws of God, not humans. Man, we are so so far down the wrong path...hope we can find our way back...

Peace

The rise of Jobbik is reduced to "anti-Semitism" and they may well be not the sort of people you or I would vote for, like Svoboda in Ukraine - but it seems clear, from Bela Kun to the present, as in so many other lands, Jews/Zionists have a wildly disproportionate share of wealth and power, and Israel's tentacles reach deep into its government and economy.

Stick to economics dude.

There was no Russian convoy at the wrong end of a Ukranian missile.  And why would Russia put armaments in the aid convoys that will be inspected by the Red Cross, when the militias control some of the border crossings?  And what "advanced surface-to-air missile capabilities" are you talking about, the BUK's that the militias didn't use to shoot down the Malaysian Boeing? And which side of the border were the Russian "escorts" for the supply convoys on, the Russian or Ukranian side? And instead of Russian and Ukranian indirect warfare, I think you meant Russian and US indirect warfare.

Once you get those facts straight, we can talk about whether or not Russia's "annexation" of Crimea should be called a reuniting with Crimea.

What we are seeing is the colliding plans of the parasitic banksters to grab world control and then slowly kill off most of humanity and the Chinese and Russian alliance who are resisting this and hoping that their parasite free approach defeats the wests infected economies before the banksters take full control. Markets in the west are up because the parasites want to keep the sheeple naively believing things are good, when in fact they are far from it.

Careful not to overstate things.

I fully agree that the banking system in the west is entirely parasitic.  That metaphor is common and accurate.

But from there to say that the Russian and Chinese systems are parasite free is absurd.  There are a host of ghost cities in China and a poorly constructed olympic village in Russia begging to refute that claim.

Russia and China do stand in the way of western hegemony, and because the western elite has become as dangerous as it has, it is good to see some semblance of balance forming to counter them, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.  Russia and China are a long way from paradise; particularly don't forget that China and the US are economically still very much joined at the hip as the producer/consumer pair du jour.

We're all in this together, like it or not.

What a pointless, piece of shit article.

What Russian convoy?

In what world, scare quotes or not, would you be able to hide enough firepower in a convoy [which has been inspected by journalists and at least two international aid organizations, not that you'll hear much about it in the US] like that to do anything but...  protect the fucking convoy?

As for Russian SAMs - they were all over Ukraine anyway, where's the evidence the Russian Federation gave them anything new.  Now, they may have, but all I have seen over and over and over is the assumption.  Where is NATOs evidence that Russia has done anything more than military drills on its side of the fence?

Now, if the Russians have provided SAMs and other goodies, given the hardware Kiev has received from the US, and probably Israel, it seems to me like faulting the RF for helping ethnic Russians shoot down the jets that were bombing them is less odious than toppling yet another foreign government and urging their ultra-nationalists and dual-citizen oligarch's forward in a scheme of civilian bombardment and ethnic cleansing so the new putsche regime can get loans to help the IMF and its confederates rape Ukraines natural wealth while giving NATO yet another forward operating area as it continues its drive toward WW3 and a global government and banking regime

For starters, Crimea was returned to Russia -not annexed, Kiev on the other hand was annexed, raped and pillaged by the white house tribesmen.   Putin never wanted Ukraine and Russia does not need another failed state, full of nuclear stations next to its borders. NATO has to fuck off, take its LGBT army and child molesting politicians with them and leave this land alone.

I suppose it would be bad taste to include a little Mongol doll in the nest...sorry Russia...too soon?

Where I often visit, the old ladies are out selling all kinds of these with US presidents, soviet figures, Hello Kitty, you know all kinds of things important to Russian people.

"which may or may not have some serious armament underneath those green canvas truck covers"

If you really think that the Russians need to sneak in arms in an humanitarian convoy like Ben Hunt of Salient Partners suggests you can't take him serious anymore because he shows he hasn't any insight of his own but just follows the cheap propaganda.

They're playing mind games with us.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said Friday that Ukrainian forces "had attacked and destroyed part of a column of Russian military vehicles on Ukrainian territory, a step that, if confirmed, would represent a significant escalation of hostilities between Ukraine and Russia."  Scary, no?

After the separatests regained their composure, "Alexander Zakharchenko, prime minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, said the rebels were in the process of receiving about 150 armored vehicles, including 30 tanks, and 1,200 fighters who he said spent four months training in Russia."

.

"I'll see your destruction of a Russian convoy, and raise you 150 armored vehicles, 30 tanks, and 1200 fighters trained in Moscow."

IT'S PROPAGANDA POKER

We saw something like this back in October 2013.

On October 8, 2013, Dutch police detained the Russian embassy's second-ranking diplomat at his home, following a complaint by neighbors.  Russia said Dmitry Borodin was badly beaten in front of his children by what it said were unidentified armed assailants, and lodged a formal diplomatic protest over Saturday's incident.

Then on October 16, 2013 Relations between Russia and the Netherlands have taken an odd turn recently. Just over a week ago, a high-level Russian diplomat in The Hague complained that police had beaten him. Then, on Tuesday night, a Dutch diplomat of the same rank in Moscow said two men jumped him as he entered his apartment and roughed him up, leaving him bound with tape.

On 8-9 November 2013 King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander and Queen of the Netherlands Máxima visited Moscow at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

They're keeping secrets from us.
