It's A Funny Old World - One Little Old Russian Convoy

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Ben Hunt of Salient Partners Epsilon Theory blog,

You know what I've noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan". Even if the plan is horrifying. If, tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan" But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds!
The Joker, “The Dark Knight” (2008)

Dick Grayson:

Gosh, Economics is sure a dull subject.

Bruce Wayne:

Oh, you must be jesting, Dick. Economics dull? The glamour, the romance of commerce ... Hmm. It's the very lifeblood of our country's society."

Batman: TV Series" (1967)

It’s a funny world when stocks can soar on a -6.8% Japanese GDP print but stumble when a Russian armored personnel carrier finds itself on the wrong end of a Ukrainian howitzer shell. That’s what you get, though, in the Golden Age of the Central Banker, as all events are filtered through the narrative of central bank control. Weak Japanese GDP was “part of the plan”, to quote both The Joker and Prime Minister Abe, or at least the revised plan after the new sales tax pulled economic activity forward in Q1, and besides, this weakness just means that “help from the BOJ may be on the way”, to quote the WSJ.  Direct artillery fire on a Russian APC column in Ukrainian territory, on the other hand … well, that’s not part of anyone’s plan. It’s a significant escalation in both Russian provocation and Ukrainian response, an escalation that for the first time illuminates a warpath that no amount of central bank jawboning can derail or recast in a market-positive light.

Is this the path we’re headed down? I doubt it. There’s enough plausible deniability in the construction of this “humanitarian aid convoy” (which may or may not have some serious armament underneath those green canvas truck covers), such that both Russia and Ukraine can return to the regularly scheduled entertainment of indirect warfare through the Donetsk proxies. And so long as the fighting simmers through proxies the sanctions won’t be life-threatening to either the Russian or German economies. The economic pain is annoying, for sure, but not so overwhelming as to be catastrophic or impervious to Draghi’s tender ministrations.

But three months ago I really thought Putin would call it a day with a Crimean annexation and just enough low-level insurgency in the rest of Russian-speaking Ukraine to keep the latest cohort of kleptomaniacs in Kiev on their toes. Instead, we’re seeing Russian-supported advanced surface-to-air missile capabilities and uniformed Russian “escorts” for supply convoys, and there’s nothing low-level about that.

And as recently as two weeks ago I would have sooner challenged Tony Stewart to a dirt-track race than challenge Draghi’s determination to push forward more and more market-pleasing monetary easing policies. Instead, we got last week’s ECB press conference, where just as he did in the spring of 2012 Draghi threatened to withhold monetary easing beyond the already announced TLTRO program unless Italy and France moved forward with structural economic reforms and commensurate fiscal consolidation.

It all just goes to show how futile any sort of crystal-ball reading effort is in the politically fractured world of 1914 … ummm, sorry, I meant to write 2014. My bad. But regardless of what century you’re in, when political stability breaks down, market stability is never far behind. We’re not there yet, as the Golden Age of the Central Banker provides a wonderful political tranquilizer in the West. But the East, whether it’s China or Russia, isn’t taking the same medicine, and that’s where we should be looking for sources of political instability large enough to wake the Red King from its long sleep.

Good choice of opening quotes from the author, except that expecting a meaningful predictability of outcomes in a centrally faked (not planned, fucking faked) system is totally silly. It's like going to a professional cycling race without being loaded up on all the latest cheating techniques.

As long as QE4ever, the BTFATH train rides the exponential tracks and everyone thinks they're "making money" all the time, until there are no buyers.

Regardless of any other event, I would venture with >60% confidence that the party ends the day Comex can't delivery phyzz.

Sure looks that way eh?

Squid-puppets a-go-go's picture

well its more than 36 hours after the most escalatory 'news' story since MH17 - and there is absolutely NO followup news story by any mainstream media outlet that i have seen, beyond the initial imageless claims

even BBC whose 'reporters' triggered the story does not seem to carry the story anymore. hmmm.

that silence you hear? that is the collective embarrasment of the warmongering MSM

jeff montanye's picture

yes.  one would think that the extremely low quality and self contrdiction of the msm reporting of ukraine would be a story itself, kind of like judith miller's whoppers for the nyt circa the iraq invasion.

tonyw's picture

every week like forever the ukraine oligarch junta has claimed the russinas were or just about to invade.

i don't believe one word of this, do you think the russians would be so stupid as to mount an invasion with a few APCs or trucks and then just leave when some of these got torched?

The Media is the Message

and the message is to bombard the population with all sorts of 'crises' stories. Hit 'em from as many directions as possible:  MH17, Gaza, Ebola, ISIS, convoy to Ukraine, Ferguson MO, Japan, US economy etc, etc, etc  Accusations are made. . . . But there's never any follow-up, just more crises stories.

The objective is to created a sense of unease and panic. Out of disorder they can offer the 'solution' of . . . . . Order.

The news aggregators fit right into their strategy by passing on the latest 'news'. But the aggregators don't control the volume and pace at which those stories are spread. They just pass it on, so they are perfect (though likely unwitting) psyop tools.

What will they come up 'new, different, and dangerous' next week ?

You can threaten people, even shell thousands & burn, mutilate & murder them with white phosphorus (!), & the market doesn't flinch: human life is "superfluous." BUT LEAVE THOSE NICE TRUCKS (that may not exist and/or carry food and supplies that Uke-Nazis intend to steal) ALONE!

Everything will be clear if you consider the top government officials outside of Obummer and Vlad Putin as following a script written for Inspector Clouseau.  In the Pink Panther movie, Chief Inspector Dreyfus says "Give me ten men like Clouseau and I could destroy the world."  So, you have the like of Yellen, Draghi, Biden and Pelosi, total incompetents in the Clouseau mold.  Obummer and Vlad know what is really going on, as New World Order types attempt to consolidate hegemony over the world.  As an example, on Wednesday, 12 September 2001, a small jet turbine engine was found lying on Barclay Street right by Ground Zero at Vesey Street.  Someone placed the jet engine (minus most of its cowling) in a wire mesh trash can, where it was photographed before vanishing.  What was a drone engine doing by the ruins of the World Trade Center?  Don't expect the FBI or anyone in Congress to give you an answer to that question.

Hey Junction:

Do you have any links to that info?

Yes, the lone turbine, most likely from a cruise missile, or other 'unpublished' blackops version. Very similar to the ONE (only) spotted on the lawn at the Pentangle.

Good analysis of the flight paths, yes paths x2, of the civilian radar track and the military radar track of UA175. About 1000 feet apart, but parallel. Could be explained by differences in the RADES radar system being further away from the towers, but could equally be a parallel flight of a cloaked 'projector' of the 'aircraft' that hit South Tower.

Around 50 vids are known to exist (possibly more were 'bought up' by various agencies/networks and subsequently 'buried'. Don't know if one of these is from the 'dancing Israelis' who were 'documenting the event'), and all these have been analysed by Richard D Hall and plotted on a 3D computer model of WTC and NYC. Good work with a downloadable viewer that you can DIY your viewpoint.

Conclusion is that a commercial 767 could not have achieved the approx 580mph at sea level (physically impossible), so a missile strike is more likely. And cruise missiles have the operational max at in exactly that range.

Cloaked aircraft like TR3B are appear to be (no pun intended) operational since the '90s. And 'skunkworx' technology is decades ahead of what we know. Includes recent long interview with Ed Fouche. (also see archive Ed Fouche lecture:Former Area 51 Employee Ed Fouche 1 of 7 ).

Quite possible that there is a platform that carries both a warhead AND image generator. ie APPEARS to the naked eye as something other than it is. Sounds like a good plan, and would fit will with all the other illusions that we are being fed in politricks, markets, currencies, social engineering etc. Could also explain why so many chemtrailing 'planes' look transparent, and a 90% antigrav 600ft triangle could load a lot of gunk. 3D realtime holograms for lectures, and concerts already exist:

One small turbine fan vs 4 fairly indestructible titanium engines from the non-767 that had the best chance of any metal surviving the molecular disassociation (dustification) of the rest of the WTC (no 'object' larger that a phone keypad, and a crushed filing cabinet found in the small amount of debris that should have been the remnants of a 110 story building- about 12% height).

The scale, both physically and psychologically of the destruction of the WTC, not to mention the launch of the 'you are either with us or you are the enemy' phase of the planned global gulag, is confirmed as 'The New Pearl Harbour' flagged up by PNAC, IMHO. As such, it's necessary to 'think outside the box' on this one, supported by hard evidence of such robust critical analysis of Architects and Engineers for 911 Truth and Pilots for 911 Truth.

You are trying too hard for some reason. You mix some dubious links with links. Maybe well intentioned, but just keep it simple. Explain Bldg.7.

JohninMK's picture

Agree, go for the easier to accept options before the hard one.

Pentagon - where is the passenger planes wreckage, including engines again, and why is the hole so small?

WTC7 - why did it come down exactly like a controlled demolition?

conscious being's picture

John, "WTC7 - why did it come down exactly like a controlled demolition?the towers and bldg7 came down in their footprints, like a controlled explosion."?

Tower1, Tower2 and Bldg7 all cme down in their respective footprints, just like a controlled explosion. Tower 1 and 2 were hit by planes. Nothing hit bldg7, yet it collapsed at free fall speed.

omniversling's picture

Fair point...tho WTC7 is the easy one, and fully covered in ae911truth. Am looking for the the lines between the less easy dots..WTC7 did not turn to dust, was a more 'classic' controlled demolition. Bless the BBC for reporting it early...

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert by secret agreements arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences."

Indeed. We all know that market action is all filtered through one question, "How does the event, or economic print, impact on Central Bank Policy". The Fed has driven nearly every bit of the bull market, bad news means more liquidity printed, means that money needs a home, means stocks drive higher. Terrible news mean more Central Bank intervention. Traders simply follow the Fed and ride their money printing to the moon. I know several family members who make no bones about trading the Fed. Their play is to always ask, "What will the Fed do". So far, they have ridden that trade sky high.

I mean, it's totally fucking fake, no price discovery, no response to the real economy. The game is all about central bank intervention.

Oh, and so far no human has yet produces a photo or video or one dead Russian from the so called invasion convoy. Yet, once the lie has been sown, it sits in the fertile ground of Western Media who are corporate military contractor's whores, even being owned by major defense industry corporations. The liars can always fool the American people, shame on the AMerican people. What has become of freedom and informed consent to government policy???

foxmuldar's picture

I fully agree but if it is true, why would the Russians deny it?  As for the Fed, I agree fully. When the spigots are turned off, the market will come crashing down big time.

the oligarch junta have already stolen the assets, you can't believe they acquired theuir huge wealth honestly over the last tren years?

all of these oligarchs have documented links to crime and some have been killed by others to steal the assets previously stolen from the people.

they are quite happy to fund private armies to kill any objectors or snipe their own people if it gets results.

shellin villages and towns is fully justified in their minds if it is necessary to hold on to the ill gotten gains.

Yeah, but Shaun Walker is back with us today. 1200 Russian-trained rebels have just crossed the border.

They must be printing a tonne of bills for these quadruple-agents working at the papers.

So this may be a prep to announce Ukraine losses due to 'Russian provocative provocation' in its preparation to invade against our exhuberance.

TheFourthStooge-ing's picture

Greasy Weasel Alert!

Yeah, but Shaun Walker is back with us today.

Yep, and look how the cunning little rodent is trying to slink away from acknowledging that he was one of the two reporters that tried to start a war with a fabricated story of a Russian invasion:

Journalists for the Guardian and Daily Telegraph observed a convoy of armoured vehicles accompanied by trucks with Russian military plates crossing over the border on Thursday night. Ukraine said it had destroyed part of a Russian column later that night, but did not provide any evidence. Russia denied any incursion had taken place.

Notice that he didn't take credit for anything. It was "journalists" that observed.

Also note how he highlights the lack of evidence provided by the Ukrainian government. This is a subtle attempt to manipulate the reader into remembering only that the Ukrainians provided no evidence. Forget about the "journalists" who "observed" things.

He also has to point out that Russia denied crossing the border. Of course, they are a former Soviet republic that was ruled by commies 25 years ago, and everyone knows that none of those can be trusted..... well, except for the ones in NATO.

So remember, folks, the Ukrainians provided no evidence and the Russians denied everything. If any part of the story is untrue, it is the fault of Ukraine or Russia. The "journalists", whose names we don't recall at the moment but probably didn't include Shaun Walker, only reported what they "observed".

conscious being's picture

Shon's lies are promoting real murder. Real killing. That's a dangerous position for him and his entourage to be in. If he strays too near the border, you never know where a stray round might come from. Hell, he might get lost and wander over the border ... seeing he doesn't seem to know where it is.

I mean the US wacks reporters it doesn't like / doesn't think are being helpful to the cause, all the time.

Sirius Wonderblast's picture

The idea of journos (western or otherwise) being at exactly the right "hole in the fence", at the right time, apparenrly with armed men in the shadows who did not kill/kidnap/interefere with them in any way, and did not bring  back the one thing they'd instinctively know was needed - photos - is beyond belief. Ditto destruction of the phantom column. It's all total and utter bollocks. And why wouldn't the Russians deny it, if they sent no column?

Keyser's picture

I have friends and associates that believe that Russia has invaded Ukraine... Why? Because they believe what the MSM tells them... They are aghast when informed of the truth... First comes the conspiracy theory accusations, then once confirmed, bewilderment follows...  He who controls the message, controls the masses...

Negative GDP print means moar financial heroine, while Russian APCs in UKR are a thread to the corrupt system.

To add to the baiting otherwise known as "plausible deniability"...

"As noted below, Ukraine, which has no money to waste, bought some surplus T-72 tanks from Hungary a couple weeks ago. Ukraine no longer uses the T-72, but the Russians do. It appears that Ukraine may have tried to plant the Hungarian T-72s near the Ukraine border, repainted to look like Russian forces, then bombed them, trying to create a Gleiwitz-style hoax to trick the world into thinking Russia had invaded.

But again, look for what should be there and isn't, and what isn't there is a REASON for Russia to invade Ukraine, knowing that will open the door to the war clearly desired by the US and EU to save the dollar and the Euru from the Rouble."...

Mike Rivero

Jack Burton's picture

I'm not sure on the timeline, but I believe the Hungary tank deal is only now on the train cars headed to Ukraine. Perhaps too early to use in this false flag lie. Hungary is selling tanks and some MIGS and also Helicopter gun ships to a broke Ukraine. Most likley American money is buying these weapons.

This begs the question. "If Hungary can arm Ukraine in a civil war, then what right has anyone to deny the same right to Russia?" Of course this is where the Eu and USA try to impose the Double Standard clause of world affairs. The West is entitled to any actions, because they are the West, Russia is limited by international law and UN mandates. Double standards declared official American policy by Obama. He says that due to the exceptional nature of Americans, that no earthly law pertains to them, while American has the duty to impose strickt standards on Russia. All this is because all mankind MUST accept the American Exceptionalism. This is the exact legal argument Hitler's Germany used to lay waste to Europe.

WhyWait's picture

The Double Standard has a long deep history.  Consider, virtually every treaty solemnly signed and concluded with Native American peoples was broken within a decade, often within a year, without a blink or blush of shame.

For an interesting brief history of the Double Standard:

Probably deeper than you are aware of. It's a very natural characteristics among humans. One the best shared qualities, to be honest.

I have a feeling you voted for Obama. He hates America and what it stands for. I bet you would be ok letting those christians die on top of that mountain. Obama would have if the media hadn't focused their attention on them. Have you forgotten how Russian ran over Georgia? Was that a lawful invasion? Putin wants the old Soviet Union back like it was before. Too bad all Russia has is oil to fund their wars. if your idiot president Obama allowed us to drill more and bring that Keystone pipeline forward, we could supply Europe with all the oil they need. Then Russia would be nothing more then another dictator lead country just as Obama is trying to turn America into.
