Looting Resumes In Ferguson; Local Police Ordered To Stand Down
After a day of relative peace, things turned ugly again in Ferguson when shortly after midnight crowds again resorted to looting and vandalism in multiple businesses along West Florissant Ave with the focal point being the QuikTrip convenience store which Mike Brown allegedly robbed. The incidents seemed to gather steam after 12:00am.
According to KTVI, at least 200 St. Louis County Police officers were on scene and helping handle the situation. They confirm the Domino’s Pizza on West Florissant was set fire and burned. They also confirm multiple businesses vandalized and looted. But the shocker happened when county Police told Fox 2 News that its officers were at the Ferguson Market earlier when looters showed up, but were ordered to “Stand down” by Missouri State Highway Patrol incident commanders at the scene and basically withdrew and allowed the looters to have their way with the store.

In other words, first appeasement in the international arena, and now, domestically. Is it surprising then that increasingly the death of Mike Brown appears to merely be a pretext for even more looting? One does wonder just where and why the order to replace the local police with a highway patrol presence came in the first place.
As KFTI further, reports, the Missouri Highway Patrol continues to have incident command at the scene. A spokesman said they are gathering information and plan a news conference later this morning. They did not have any solid information about damage, arrests, or injuries.
As of this morning the looting activity seems to have quieted, but local media outlets report live pictures of cars racing down West Florissant and driving erratic. Furthermore, after being told to stand aside, a strong police presence appears to be returning and moving down West Florissant and standing off with some protestors.

Absolutely, and if we don't begin to address these things as a community the polarization will only get worse. The problem is that there are some groups who believe the police are there to protect them from other groups. That kind of thinking is at the root of this kind of unrest. No one wants to talk anymore and I don't understand it. In fact, I grieve the loss of community and neighborhood; the loss of a sense of ownership and pride. That's "our" Domino's Pizza and Quik Mart - not theirs.
We can change this if communities will find the will. Standing down might be the only way. Unfortunately, it will mean some property damage before it stops.

A university student in Ferguson, Mo. was the apparent victim of the “knockout game” attack and a news cameraman was punched multiple times in the face Thursday.
The student was near the Ferguson McDonald’s when a witness says he was sucker-punched, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Employees at the restaurant provided immediate aid, and the victim was transported to a hospital.
A news cameraman with Kansas City’s KMBC was also attacked in a separate incident, according to the Post-Dispatch. The station’s reporter, Eli Rosenberg, sent a tweet saying that a man walked up to the cameraman and punched him multiple times in the face.

The McDonald’s where the student was punched was the scene of a widely-reported incident that occurred on Wednesday. There, two reporters were briefly detained by police for filming officers and for refusing to heed officers’ orders to leave the restaurant.
The incident received heavy coverage and was cited as an example of police heavy-handedness.
The attacks on Thursday occurred as both CNN and MSNBC touted what they claimed was a vast improvement in the interaction between police and protesters compared to previous days.

There was barely a mention of Thursday night's violence on Friday but for one STL radio host who was interviewed on FOX. The MSM wanted to sell the story that the black State Trooper, Ron Johnson, who was a member of "the community" had calmed the crowd and restored order using empathy and respect for the protesters.
That's all revealed as bullshit today. The way these black LEO's "restore order" is by refusing to enforce the the White man's laws. Johnson gave the crowd freedom to roam on Thursday and last night they were confident they wouldn't be punished.
Blacks have been at war with white America for over fifty years and the only way we have managed to have any peace is by paying them off and lowering our expectations and living standards.

The purpose here is to downplay the violence that is occurring in Ferguson, supporting the narrative that police are overreacting for no reason.

The libertarian response: the guys protecting their property with their own arms. Government is not necessary. If particular business owners are incapable of protecting their property themselves, they can hire professionals to do it. Free market security agencies would remain on the property of their employers, allow protesters to do as they please as long as they don't violate the property rights they are employed to protect, and respond with whatever level of force was necessary to those who did violate property rights. They would also be personally liable for their actions if they exceeded their proper role (such as shooting an unarmed man).
It should be noted that in a true free market society every square inch of land would be owned by someone, so protests like this would only be able to happen if the owners of the streets allowed it, which I doubt they would. Criminal actions by security forces would be handled just like any other rights violation, so people would not feel the need to resort to such protests. These protest are a result of the fact that government police are unaccountable to the people they supposedly serve.
