Looting Resumes In Ferguson; Local Police Ordered To Stand Down

Tyler Durden's picture

After a day of relative peace, things turned ugly again in Ferguson when shortly after midnight crowds again resorted to looting and vandalism in multiple businesses along West Florissant Ave with the focal point being the QuikTrip convenience store which Mike Brown allegedly robbed. The incidents seemed to gather steam after 12:00am.

According to KTVI, at least 200 St. Louis County Police officers were on scene and helping handle the situation. They confirm the Domino’s Pizza on West Florissant was set fire and burned. They also confirm multiple businesses vandalized and looted. But the shocker happened when county Police told Fox 2 News that its officers were at the Ferguson Market earlier when looters showed up, but were ordered to “Stand down” by Missouri State Highway Patrol incident commanders at the scene and basically withdrew and allowed the looters to have their way with the store.

So if the cops won't protect, then vigilante justice is inevitable:

In other words, first appeasement in the international arena, and now, domestically. Is it surprising then that increasingly the death of Mike Brown appears to merely be a pretext for even more looting? One does wonder just where and why the order to replace the local police with a highway patrol presence came in the first place.

As KFTI further, reports, the Missouri Highway Patrol continues to have incident command at the scene. A spokesman said they are gathering information and plan a news conference later this morning. They did not have any solid information about damage, arrests, or injuries.

As of this morning the looting activity seems to have quieted, but local media outlets report live pictures of cars racing down West Florissant and driving erratic. Furthermore, after being told to stand aside, a strong police presence appears to be returning and moving down West Florissant and standing off with some protestors.

And just in case Ukraine wants some pointers on what "evidence" means, here is photographic and video proof of the overnight events.

Meanwhile, the entire world is watching:

So to summarize: the revolution may not be televised, but the looting will sure be tweeted.

That shouldn't really surprise anyone. Obama & Holder have obviously been fanning the flag of race baiting and hate since they took office.

Think of them as a professional version of rabble rousers to the minor leagues of Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton.

Blackies working their magic yet again...and many blacks wonder why there is a "stereotype" towards their race. I see crap like this and it makes me think maybe the slavery blacks dealt with wasn't such a bad thing after all. If you can't act civilized and will go and fuck up the lives of others then I have no problem if you are viewed as someone's property. Just round up all the looters and rioters and drone strike them already.

Good of the police to do nothing about this while apparently threatening journalists and peaceful protestors. The police are awesome.

This is how "Food Deserts" are created.  Then some priviledged white pHd student will reasearch obesity and diabeties in these hoods and come to the conclusion that there aren't enough healthy food choices available.  Then the grants come and the TIF's to lure another sucker into opening a grocery store, and it will suffer so horribly under SNAP use and theft it will have no choice but to close.  rinse repeat.

They are obviously playing games and doing live scenarios and testing out various actions and reactions on both sides as well.

Local police in local police out
Militarized Swat teams in swat teams out
State police in State police out
Stand down orders to let looting continue

In addition this is sending a message to the rest of your country.

If you're smart you'll organize community responses to these scenarios now because it is coming to your city in the near future.

If you don't identify who did what in this situation, even at the highest levels, and hold them accountable they will just keep doing it again. Don't expect your local control hierarchy to do a damn thing for you. They will delay, deny, resist and cover up. As always you will need to go around them and take action if you want it done right. This will be met with resistance and force because you are challenging their criminal corrupt authoritie. But that's the position you're in now since you've let this get to this point. It will only keep getting worse as time moves forward.

Anyone that really believes that all blacks are the same will only be hurting themselves. I read a story a while ago where the only two people in a small town of around 2000 to stand up to the cross cultural corruption and collusion were one Hispanic man and one Black woman. There are good and bad in everything and everyone. Locating, assessing and consolidating the good or good enough will be halted by the bad at all costs. Considering some of the comments here and the current situation in your country it looks like you've got your work cut out for you. Unless you want to just give in to the evil that controls this world you better start adjusting your stereotypes enough to figure this out fast or you're screwed.

Hate whitey has been a perfect substitute for dealing with problems within the black community. Generations of entitlement programs are finally bearing fruit. Only thing is what happens when one person white or rather non black decides to take a stand at the door of his establishment with an AR. There will be a second war fought over slavery, the slavery blacks have placed on themselves through blind allegiance to the race baiters. Jesse and Al, where are you man, there's money to be made here.

Dude, you have every right to be mean or be a hoolingan.

I have every right to tell you right off that you're not a man.

A real man thinks first in the family, not tattoos.

A real man cherishes his community above all, watch your back and looking for help, I'll give you an example: a neighbor in front of my house had water cut because the child is drugged and she stopped working to care for the addicted son all our neighbors are providing water for her. Yesterday overnight a hose 150 feet in the box of stretched and filled her water 1000 liters of water she needed.

IIsso is called solidarity.

Saying "I'm hooligan, I am alone, I am self-sufficient" is the biggest crap you stuck in the head.

As if you were born in a barn, brooder whose son is egg left the ass of a chicken.

If I'm sorry, you have your opinion and have every right to express, I also have the right to tell me.

It is written in the Constitution where you live and reside (I believe that is the USA).

Respect that.

Finally,

I'm in Brazil and I do not feel entitled to opine on personal things of you out there in America.

The most I can do is give a statement of what I saw here in Brazil and Venezuela.

Namely:

The whole thing began in Venezuela with the worst riots of what you are seeing in Fergston, there was a bit in Argentina and then in Brazil, and tell those I witnessed on the throne.

When started in São Paulo, Brazil's financial capital, but it was with just cause, then dengringolou thing (do not know how to translate this expression).

President Dilma Rousseff has placed the federal police in the case (the FBI of you in the USA).

As well.

Our Federal Police found an old car with a suitcase full of dollars to be distributed to protesters, arrested everyone, tucked in federal jails and hunted people from north to south in Brazil.

The demonstrations ended abruptly.

Unfortunately, the FBI has of you as we get funded because there's a thing in my opinion is spontaneous.

Unfortunately, you will have to deal with this shit without blaming anyone.

It's something of you.

In my sense, is the beginning of the end.

After that will be Civil War II, but America loves a good war, that the whole world understands.

If you kill it, believe me, no country will intervene.

We all know how insane this is where people do not comprimentam eyes indeed, whether stare is offense.

Yes, I was hard on my observations.

There is a thing called "empathy" you banished it from your dictionary.

Perhaps for this reason are in this shit.

Kind regards.

Victims? Really? We are not victims, we are willing accomplices. We allowed this to happen. We were asleep at the wheel, comfy watching our reality shows, our Super Bowl, March Madness, etc., and we forgot that freedom is not free. You have to continuously fight for it, or it will be taken away from you. It comes with a very high price, often paid in blood. Few are willing to pay that price and will continue to cower until they no longer have a choice. So, don't tell me we're victims. We're comfortable frogs, allowing ourselves to be slowly boiled to death.

Maybe it's time all cops stand down everywhere, and allow honest citizens to learn, again, how to "police" and take care of themselves and each other?

Like it used to be. And still is in most of these rural counties.

Rely on government protection and see what you get. Government protected thugs pillaging and looting your passive way of life. Some wearing uniforms, some with pants down around their knees.

And what is it with these Black "communities" ( communes?) Not only do they not police their own diverse (divided?) populous, they encourage lawlessness by not stepping in and culling these shitbags from their midst.

Unfortunately, in the eyes of the vast majority of Americans, Blackness is ounce again being associated with helplessness and lack of self discipline. They, themselves, depended upon a police force that ended up filling one of their own societal failures full of holes, when a single round in the leg, or, earlier, maybe some semblance of mores, would have sufficed.

There is an exit proven effective historically speaking.

The State should take full contingent in the community.

Leave the "stick eat."

Mexico did it in the South, communities have returned to normal, and with greater force.

Withdrew its troops from conflict areas, after the thing came back gradually calmed.

Just seeing a uniformed man, armed, generates an insane adrenaline in the population.

Wow, citizen enforced law! What a novel concept.

Although, time and again the courts have reaffirmed, police are not charged with "preemptive" crime prevention. Only enforcement, after the law is violated.

It is the DUTY, of citizens to enforce the law, as well.

We can either self govern, or demand that an all powerful State govern us.

But by granting full consent to a central justice department, appointing the likes of Eric Holder it's attorney general, or any other power center apparatchik for that matter, then sitting back and expecting corruption to not creep in, well,,,,, see what you get in the old trade off of liberty for security.

There's an appropriate time to release the video, and that's in COURT in connection with litigation against the police department, NOT prior to any charges being filed. Shameless effort to pollute a future jury pool.

No wonder this jackass police chief is hanging by a thread at this point. Wouldn't be surprised if the Governor puts his ass on paid leave come Monday. Jury polluting or not, the family is going to get a multi-million dollar settlement from the city when the dust settles. Police chief just wanted to incite more looting. Not exactly "protecting and serving" the community, more like "protecting and serving" the police department.

It’s too late for Furguson; and it’s certainly not a “revolution”.  Most people don’t realize that there are two kinds of revolutions: one that advances tyranny; and one that advances liberty; one I call Judeo-Bolshevik; the other, American.  Of the thousands of slave uprisings that have occurred in man’s long tortured story, only three have advanced the cause of liberty (Athens (year -508), England (1620-50) and America).

And, if aggrieved parties rise up to seek redress without full knowledge of the law, history and procedures of redress, their uprising will always end in suicide.  This seems to be a major lesson of history.  The English first publicly declared their right of redress with the Magna Charta (section 61) in the year 1215.  However, it took them 400 years and oceans of blood to develop reasonably effective procedures of redress (an introduction).

Do rioters of Ferguson look like they have the needed knowledge to execute an American revolution?

Of course not.  Whether they know it or not, they are Judeo-Bolshevik dupes waiting for a chance to self destruct.

The BLM actually performs services that make the land suitable for grazing as well as for conservation efforts. Bundy's cattle do NOT stay exclusively on his land, but also roam freely on public lands. Thus, those fees should be paid because he uses public lands which I and other taxpayers pay to maintain without paying his fair share for the land's use and availability. Those fees pay for:

1) killing wolves and other predators
2) environmental conservation, especially related to endangered species
3) prevention of environmental degradation over time

If Mr. Bundy is happy to provide those services himself, then I see no reason to assess a fee. Until then, he should have to pay. Plus, the fact BLM didn't exist until recently is irrelevant, as the federal government has authority to regulate the use of federal lands under the Constitution regardless.

Semperfudge:The BLM actually performs services that make the land suitable for grazing as well as for conservation efforts.

SemperFUDGE....member for 18 weeks...

So you think Bundy and his family never shot a predator?     That's part of a ranchers JOB you clown.   Did they  (Bundy's)  destroy the land in the previous 100 years?  LOL

Lol calm down bro, it's a Saturday chill out. I don't think BLM's show of force was appropriate but the fees should still be collected all the same. At the very least, it's unfair to make all the other ranchers who have been paying fees on time and w/out objection let Bundy get a free ride. Calling me a "shill" is just BS, as you can tell from my wide range of comments, many of which show zero support for government activities.

Plus, ranchers and farmers throughout history HAVE had to cull predatory animals (and still do to this day) in lieu of governments that have performed the same functions.

If you think BLM just collects these fees as some kind of massive conspiracy to imprison and destroy farmers maybe you should check out Infowars and become an Alex Jones sheeple.

Well, lets wait for all the facts to roll in.

Seems he had a physical altercation with a (mall) cop when he approached the (mall) cop in his car... a wrestling match ensued where the (mall) cop discharged his firearm.  Assaulting a police officer is a felony, especially double plus so when he is in full mall cop costume.

Although a (mall) cop is not OBLIGATED to shoot a fleeing felon, he is within his legal rights to do so if he believes the felon might commit grave bodily harm or death to others.

You're right, except that isn't the context of the comment you're responding to. The comment you're responding to specifically talked about a dangerous (poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury) felon, which at least in my state, can be stopped with deadly force while fleeing, irrespective of Tennessee v. Would the Free Shit Army include Bundy who grazed his cattle on public land w/o paying for many years?

Would it include most American farmers, who receive federal farm subsidies?

Would it include all of the middle class people who receive tax deductions based on the size of their mortgage?

Would it include the large corporations that manage to make huge profits and still have many years where they pay net 0 taxes (e.g. GE, Exxon)?

Would it include retirees who receive more in Social Security than what they paid in?

I can assure you that you have as much to fear from those interest groups as things get harder than you do from people in the inner cities.  They may pick your pocket in different ways, but your pocket will still be picked.

Getting free stuff from the government is not a black, inner city thing.  Almost all of us - including many of the ZH founders who used to or still work on Wall Street - have benefitted from government largesse in one form or another.

A lot of the militarization of local police is local police using military equipment handed to them by the Obama administration. Who wouldnt use maximum equipment during a riot. Especially when riots now are 'bluetooth' riots. The mobs communicate with headsets, and texting and can outflank you easy.

There has to be a reason the Obama administration is handing out intimidating camo and armored vehicles - no strings attached. IMHO they want the cops to use the equipment, and justify the vilification of local police

Meanwhile, they are building small armies at the federal agencies, and loading up on hollow point ammo. Is that hollow point for breaking up mobs looting beer from party stores?

As I watch the press coverage and the way the militarization issue is being targeted against municipal police, I smell a tactic by the Federales to transfer public trust to a Federal police force

Actually is does.  Nice try AGAIN at twisting words.  I did NOT say fleeing SUSPECT or PERP

It DOES however apply to FLEEING FELON if the cop in a costume believes the FLEEING FELON poses a serious risk of bodily harm or death to others.

So typical of a lawyer though, twisting words.

You must have slept through that 90 minutes in class.

It's so simple even a lawyer should be able to understand.  Lair for hire.

Assault cop = felon.

Flee the scene = fleeing felon.

Tennessee v. Garner, 471 U.S. 1 (1985)

Some states have laws on the books that are outside of this more narrow ruling in scope and remain there. However in my state, the use of deadly force in the context of a dangerous fleeing felon applies to not only LEOs, but CCW holders, armed security guards and armed private investigators, so the emphasis is placed on the more restrictive Tennessee v. Garner for non-LEOs and may well be for them as well.

The Stranger
by Rudyard Kipling

The Stranger within my gate,
He may be true or kind,
But he does not talk my talk --
I cannot feel his mind.
I see the face and the eyes and the mouth,
But not the soul behind.

The men of my own stock
They may do ill or well,
But they tell the lies I am wonted to.
They are used to the lies I tell,
And we do not need interpreters
When we go to buy and sell.

The Stranger within my gates,
He may be evil or good,
But I cannot tell what powers control
What reasons sway his mood;
Nor when the Gods of his far-off land
Shall repossess his blood.

The men of my own stock,
Bitter bad they may be,
But, at least, they hear the things I hear,
And see the things I see;
And whatever I think of them and their likes
They think of the likes of me.

This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf --
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

THE WRATH OF THE AWAKENED SAXON
by Rudyard Kipling

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy -- willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not suddenly bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

Amazing how Rudyard Kipling, bard of Pax Britannica and Britannia rules the waves, forgot to mention in his ode to the Saxon strain, legacy of his ancestors, that his allegiance to Christianity, to the Children of God, was now enshrouded by his ode in hate, beckoning the coming of darknes to the soul of the people who forever proclaimed their "undying faith" in the Religion of love.

"God wills it", like the notion of Jihad, as now commonly interpreted today--unlike its original usage---has always been about HATE, not about peace and love.

And WHITES are just homo sapiens lacking in melanin.

Those whites who founded the US sure did some ethnic "spring" cleaning as a beginning, like their Spanish counterparts two centuries before them.

"Actually in my State it applies to civilians with CCW's too. Not saying you won't get your ass sued off in civil court... but it is well within the law as it is written."

--Duc888

Uh, you'll get sued if you have MONEY. And that's only after you're convicted of murder in the State's case against you for shooting a person in the back. And you won't have a self-defense claim, or any other kind of claim, for that matter, for shooting a fleeing person in the back. You're watching too many daytime court TV programs.

Christ I sure hope you're a friiggin real estate lawyer or Divorce lawyer.....

"But the court added that police could use deadly force if the suspect had threatened the life of a police officer.

“If the suspect threatens the officer with a weapon or there is probable cause to believe that he has committed a crime involving the infliction or threatened infliction of serious physical harm, deadly force may be used if necessary to prevent escape, and if, where feasible, some warning has been given,” said Justice White."

"Constitutionally, "police officers are allowed to shoot under two circumstances," says Klinger. The first circumstance is "to protect their life or the life of another innocent party" — what departments call the "defense-of-life" standard. The second circumstance is to prevent a suspect from escaping, but only if the officer has probable cause to think the suspect's committed a serious violent felony."

WOW. Well, kudos to you on returning. It's obvious why people like me get paid money to do this and why you don't.

First of all, you're clearly abandoning your previous assertion that the rules you are "citing" above apply to MALL COPS, which they don't. So, I'm considering you to have dropped that argument altogether, which is good, because it's flatly ludicrous.

Secondly, I wasn't even saying anything specifically about THIS CASE or the officer's liability in THIS CASE, if you haven't noticed. I am far from completely aware of all the facts, as are you, about the circumstances involved in this slaying. Having said that, you are NOT aware that the officer was "assaulted," as you suggest. That is a legal conclusion for which every element of the charged offense must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, until which the accused remains innocent in the eyes of the law. So, that's also flatly unestablished either in fact or as a matter of law.

You're obviously trying to make this about Brown now, since you lost our little debate concerning the nature of self-defense.

As your first article said:

It is not better that all felony suspects die than that they escape,” wrote Justice Byron White for the majority. “Where the suspect poses no immediate threat to the officer and no threat to others, the harm resulting from failing to apprehend him does not justify the use of deadly force to do so. …A police officer may not seize an unarmed, non-dangerous suspect by shooting him dead.”

If the suspect threatens the officer with a weapon or there is probable cause to believe that he has committed a crime involving the infliction or threatened infliction of serious physical harm, deadly force may be used if necessary to prevent escape, and if, where feasible, some warning has been given,” said Justice White.

Right. So, if Brown threatened the officer with a weapon (which I don't think happened, but we'll see), or if the officer had "probable cause to believe that (the suspect) has committed a crime involving the infliction or threatened infliction of serious physical harm, deadly force may be used" (which seems unlikely, but also hasn't been established), his self-defense claim will be valid. I strongly doubt the officer had knowledge of an unrelated robbery just hours before the issue at hand, or Brown's connection to the robbery, but even as such it hasn't been proven.

Likewise, if Brown verbally threatened the officer while he was unarmed, it is unlikely the cop was justified in using deadly force to counteract mere verbal threats. Otherwise, any cop could just pull a gun and shoot any unarmed person when the person says "I'm going to fuck you up, officer," which would lead to absurd, shocking results in court about the authority cops have to shoot people dead.

It's far from clear whether a valid self-defense claim exists IN THIS CASE (I didn't say anything, if you'll note, about either the cop's innocence or guilt pertaning to a hypothetical murder/manslaughter charge, or Brown's guilt or innocence relating to a hypothetical assault charge).

Everything else you said though, none of which is legally accurate, is complete bogus. You finally got the applicable legal standards correct when you actually sat down and did some research, so hopefully I helped you learn some things today. But even then, the conclusion you drew (that Brown "assaulted" the officer) is hardly demonstrated in fact or proven in law. Eyewitness testimony will be evaluated and weighed by a jury in all likelihood.

Until then, your claim that "Although a (mall) cop is not OBLIGATED to shoot a fleeing felon, he is within his legal rights to do so if he believes the felon might commit grave bodily harm or death to others" stands as one of the most ridiculous pseudo-legalistic pieces of BS I've seen on this site for quite awhile. And that's not even MENTIONING the things you said about CCW earlier, which didn't make any sense then and which certainly probably seems stupid, even to you, in hindsight.

If you want to say pseudo-legal nonsense online, that's fine, but don't be unprepared to be called out on it. There are people out there who actually do know these things and may even call you out on your inaccuracies.
