The problem with your theory is that when one is living in poverty everything in the environment can become an object of disgust. If you have no money then those people who are controlling the businesses in your area may then be the oppressors. In this sense the people are protesting and rioting against general conditions. And this makes more sense than many here who suggest peaceful protest and more waiting, whether or not it is the best thing to do must be set aside - this is a start.
The other problem is that many here are using the logic of free markets while denying that this society is a free market. Many of the liquor stores and businesses are gang fronts, just as in outer communities many bars and construction projects are controlled by mafia and biker gangs. This theory of property rights being one with life is just a law of corporatocracy. Small corporations can be the worst, just like gangs, because they become desperate.

The other thing I said was that property rights should not be elevated over human life. That does not equate to maoism, marxism, or capitalism. Instead that should be a common idea of human decency. The focus on poverty as an absolute right tends to come about in absolutist societies, in governmental forms where the smallest minority controls all of the property. In ancient Greece more than 80% of people were slaves. Modern America, whether you call it modern democracy or a capitalist republic, is very much the same - very few people control property. The control of property tends to make one an agent of the state, if a diffuse one.
Capitalism is not a free society, capitalism is a method of economic exchange within monarchism and democracy. The necessary property of individual and community life is important to a free society. But not more important than the ability of individuals and the community to participate in the complete fulfillment of other areas of life. And not more important than a right to participation or non-participation. The focus on property rights and property exchange/contracts as the absolute law of a society is where democratic capitalism and marxism are one and the same. Both systems introduce mandatory collectivisation into the cult of property. The only difference is that capitalism wants to keep as many as possible outside of the collective, and marxism wants to corral as many as possible in (marxism is, after all, state capitalism). This leads to two different extremes from the same foundation.
As you say, poverty and oppression for everyone but the elites. There is no differentiation in this between capitalists or marxists. Marxism simply results in all of the oppressed being equal, while capitalism results in all of the oppressed recreating another tier of elites and oppression until no one knows who is who.
The dictat to let the poor to their own devices was introduced by central governments of French monarchy, so it is strange that American capitalists, hating both these forms, have something so in common. If you are really opposed to central government then you should also be opposed to the state's method of economy (meaning capitalism), its theology, its science, and many of its ideologies of life. As I see it, the problem in urban areas is there is nothing the average person can produce with thier own labor, other that illegal items/offerings. They lack the space to grow their own food (self-sufficiency), the capital to compete with fancy gee-whiz flashbangs and have little to no drive to consider ways to be productive because they are filled with self-pity.
Not all, but a majority are on some type of public assistance and since they are getting something for nothing, why bust your rear in a minimum wage offering that will only negate your assistance and make it impossible to rise beyound. Getting out means have skills that are valuable elsewhere and the means to get to that place to offer them for hire.
No education, No diction, No Skills and No Health. Yep, prime hiring material. Oh, and let's not forget that, what was it called again...oh yeah, Work Ethic which is pretty much non-existant.

That's the point. Your opinion of the Free Shit Army does not create jobs. When there is a depression and systemic unemployment there will be many jobless, and the laws of entropy determine that much of this unemployment will be grouped together in localised areas.
You can't just go out and get a job when the system is based on printed money and giving 50 billion a month welfare to corporations. Capitalism demands a set amount of poverty for its constructed state laws to function. This means that at least one in ten people are forced into a kafkaesque wandering between jobs and bureaucratic 'assistance, not to mention all of the heartless characters who antagonise them for not having a job. That is there job, it is just unpaid.
Capitalism is a Free Shit Army by its very nature, producing shit people don't need with an army mobilising people to think they are free.
