Pope Francis Gets Involved In Geopolitics, "Endorses Use Of Force" Against ISIS Jihadists
Pope Francis, who until now has had an aura of pacifism "above all else", if now and then bashing the occasional banker for creating record wealth disparity around the globe, just shattered his reputation of a man of peace at all costs, and moments ago endorsed the use of force in Iraq to stop Islamic militants from attacking religious minorities. He added that ays the international community — and not just one country — should decide how to intervene. He did not clarify just which superpower the last statement was a direct jab against.

Francis also said he and his advisers are considering whether he might go to northern Iraq to show solidarity with persecuted Christians, but are holding off on a decision for now.
Something tells us his advisors will not greenlight such a trip.
And now we await the Islamic State's response, which having already extended the flag of Jihad against the US, will now instruct all "faithful" to endorse the use of suicide bombers against Catholics around the globe. Because escalations never happen on their own.
One thing is certain: it isn't over until the crusaders arrive.

Radical Islam has been quite clear about wanting to eradicate any other religion besides theirs.
If there ever was a peaceful religion of Islam, it has been hijacked by splinter cults of nut-jobs.
Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, etc. - kill them all and destroy their places of worship.
The world has a problem, but Islam has a bigger problem.
maybe the Pope got a little cranky over the threat by Saudi Arabia's proxy terror group to attack Rome?
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/08/18/pope-francis-isis-and-t...
Maybe all the crucifictions and beheadings struck him as worthy of UN action to stop - wow - ha! fuck that guy!!
?
Which guy?
I have to say that a call to arms is long overdue. I'm an atheist but fighting the Greater Crazy has an appeal, don't you think?
Or should the current Pope just blind-eye this one like as happened to "The Church" in Rwanda?
"We are all Syria's Bashar al-Assad Now!"
- Slogan for 2015
Come on sheeple. Start challenging the US media and US-official Syria bashing!
The regime in Syria clearly had this ISIS/ISIL situation to deal with long before we did. It was the West that got on the wrong side of history, not Assad.
(Ya, and that bastard Putin had it right too in this case. Honest people need to admit this.)
ISIS does need to be stopped regardless of anyone's religous views.
There also needs to be accountability as to how ISIS was allowed to flourish.
yes. totally. moar war will fix all the problems caused by war. "accountability on how ISIS was allowed to florish"
Well, thats easy, look no further than the white house, who has been arming and training the syrian 'rebels' so they can bring about yet another 'regime change' (read: coup) in a country whose leader we don't like. Those same rebels, suspecting (correctly) that the neighboring american puppet state in Iraq would be easy pickins, since it hasnt been stable since we invaded over a decade ago. So, we are training and arming the people in syria who we are hoping will overthrough the assad govt in syria, and then these same people cross over into iraq to fight the puppet regime we armed and trained there. We are basically supplying both sides of this conflict, and will likely continue to do so becuase the people who own obama and the rest of our politicians are raking in billions by selling the govt the weapons, and becuase our keynesian witch doctors who run the worlds central banks have it in their heads that continually blowing shit up just so you can rebuild it and blow it up again is good for the economy.
I think you missed the point and agreed with it all at once, Carl.
Dear pope, you should start sending back the thousands of Islam fanatics that come on shore in Italy every month.
And their likin' the look of the Vatican City for their peeps!
Crusades 2.0?
Send in the Little Sisters of the Poor.
I wouldn't be traveling in a KIA with the window open anytime soon. Cardinals gave bad advice to you. Remaining neutral is the best conclusion. Just make a note entry of who suggested this. It makes it easier to roundup the conspirators. Believe your a decent individual. Send me a copy of that notation, you know how to find me. God bless you.
Not one motherfucking word about illegal wars.
is he supposed to talk about every fucking concept every fucking time?
http://ncronline.org/news/global/world-should-join-pope-francis-call-sto...
Stop being a cunt.
I for one question his motives.
Bitch.
it's always fair to question the motives with anyone with power - but the guy is on record talkin about being against war and all manner of fuckery -
it's another thing to be so biased, to come to a conclusion so before the facts, that you're not on board when the nominal spiritual leader of hundreds of millions of people says 'maybe we should stop these evil fucks'...
sucka.
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-08-18/pope-francis-gets-involved-geop...
Chump.
For the record, I'm on board with stopping ISIS, but at the root. Anything else is just moar theater.
<-- I'm "on-board" with at least one major organized religion; I think it's a force for good!
<-- I'm NOT "on-board" with ANY organized religion; I'm not convinced ANY are useful/worthwhile.
{Non-devout (nominally religious) types; you might count as neutral here -- sorry -- consider abstaining}
Pope Frank at least had the balls to visit the Palestinian "wall"
http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2014/5/25/1401...
He also corrected Netanyahu about the language Christ spoke.
and probably knows that the wailing wall was built by the Romans, not the Jews... lol.
for all this and more, eh, he's alright in my book. For a religious type.
Franco licked the wall. In doing so he openly sided with the Jews.
no, he visited the Palestinian wall and prayed there and spoke against the occupation.
In doing so he openly sided with basic human decency and fairness.
Yes, I think that is right. This POPE is generally on the right side of issues.
I think he is an Atheist. Those make the best Popes.
"The second collection today will be for the Hellfire Missile fund."
Would Jesus say such a thing?
... He just did...
Yes.
He wasn't gentle with the moneylenders, and they were just 'defiling' the temple, not killing hundreds and such.
I guess you never [were forced to] read a word of the NT, eh?
That puts the Vatican on the ISIL "Hit" List.
They won't even cooperate with Nation-States in prosecuting Molesters among the Clergy and Staff. With the Catholic War against the Protestant Reformation and the latest lame attempt at absorbing Protestants into "one body" of the refurbished Horus-Mithra-Dionysis-Chrestus-Christ (thank you, Constantine and Friends, for the Fraud), it would be interesting to see how Protestants and the rest of the World observe how ISIL and the Vatican take each other on.
Which protestants - the Anglicans and Lutherans who are much closer to Catholics than they are to the Judeo-christian zionists and evangelicals who want ww3?
What about the Orthodox Christians - also closer to Catholics and Anglicans? ditto for the Oriental/Chaldeans - also closer to Catholics than they are to the Evangelical doomsday cultists.
If you're siding with ISIL against the Vatican, you're the sort of fucking idiot who ought to spend less time on the injustices of the 1600s and start paying attention to the world we live in now.
Absolutely, put that old cocksucker front and center with the Holy Hand Grenade.
Front line duty.

Have we gone back in time to the medieval crusades ?
Patience.
The Sunnis and Shiites have been battling since the mid 600s AD. The crusades were around 1,100 so we really haven't gone anywhere in a thousand plus years.
Although we have all of the iCrap that makes people smarter and much more productive. </sarc>
So much for the, 'Thou Shalt Not Kill' thing!
Good Lord, why don't you research what he actually said instead of taking headlines on their face value?
Socialists say all kinds of tings!
Sorry I thought you were smarter than somebody who believes anything that comes out of the MSM.
I believe everything and verify nothing!
Though shalt not murder is proper.
Justifiable homicide is just fine.
He was right a few months ago when he said that there is not much world attention for the persecution of christians in muslem countries. That amounts to roughly 300,000 victims per year, every year. But this comment will make christian minorities ever a bigger target plus it might calvanize support of 'ordinary' muslems for ISIS. You know, they just need to scream 'crusade, crusade' and every muslem goes into a hate reflex. But that in turn might calvanize the support of the billion catholics or so for a fight against islam. Yes, the 'clash of civilizations' agenda still on track.
Well if "God wills it" to fight "Allah wills it"; then we are back to 1099 !
What a betrayal of Western civilization this regression has become.
The Oil route exacts a higher price (in terms of dogmatic validation today) than the silk and the spice routes of yesteryear!
Tony Blair, along with his partner in crime GWB ush are in some online polls more hated than Pol Pot, Stalin, Hitler, Lenin, the Plague, Spanish Influenza, Ebola, Cancer and a whole host of other assorted filth.
Tony Blair fell to the catholic church for absolution for what he did with GWB ush in Iraq.
1,200,000 million, very fucking DEAD, men women and children kept the bastard awake at night.
Have him, have all of him.
Monsters fucking INC.
Hes yours now pope, he joined your flock.
Jesus, if he had of been here today, would have peeled that bastard alive in sulphuric acid with a fence post, and made the evil bastard suffer a million hail marys over millenia for actions he condoned while ruining my country.
I will go to my grave praying I meet this sub-human filth. I would give everything I have to give justice to this bastard.
Anyhow pope, hes yours now.
Enjoy him.
:-)
So he turned catholic because there you just need to confess, say that you are really, really sorry and then you need to say ten hail Mary's and everything is forgiven? Interesting thought.
I'm guessin' the Kenyan didn't eactly win the 'hearts and minds' thing?
Pope declares jihad,
err ... "crusade" against the "infidels"
(Vatican holy warriors are different this time -
and are still the most "exceptional" despite some other claims)
It's starting to get crowded with all the claims
who's doing "god's work", who are the "chosen ones", etc.
except - nothing like that, at all.
Pro-ISIS are we?
Hilarious ROFL if you really believe more military intervention ,
unilaterally by the USA or by a Vatican-blessed "coalition"
will be undertaken to save one or the other religious sects as the motive
other than as a public relations gimmick.
Did you also believe the story about the needed rescue of Yazidis (which turned out to be false)?
The example of "devout Christians" NOT turning the other cheek is also amusing.
Apparently you are somewhat naive and hubristic about international politics, the history of ISIS,
and who is supporting what.
The only "pro-ISIS" advocates I notice are the ones who favor continuous foreign invasions of the Mideast which generate ever more animosities and recruits for ISIS,
wind up supporting assorted drug lords and despots,
and cause a steady erosion of civil liberties at home.
(Psst, ... it's really about the oil, pipelines, and containing Russia and China)
"Good Lord, why don't you research what he actually said instead of taking headlines on their face value?"
I did. The Holy Hand Grenade was the first thing that came to my mind. Maybe the HHG will 'just stop them"
Or not.
In order to "just stop them".... you'd have to scrape the ugly scab off and drain the puss out that is Banksterz and Politicians.
Who funds them?
That'll never happen, so bombs away!
It's about time he got somthing right.
ISIS's next stop: Vatican City! Look out for the next mossad black ops attack...
The only true Catholic position is anti-war.
This guy is a globalist tool
Does he not know its the capitalists who finance war?
I have an idea. Why doesn't the pope just shut the fuck up and suck his own dick?
If ISIS cud they'd never leave their tents!
How about some good old fashioned lightning strikes, locusts, or poisonous snakes.
Channel him Francis.
New Pods,
Murder? You telling me that a person doesn't have a right to use force to protect themselves?
Tyler,
What did you expect the Pope to say? You know very well that ISIS will kill all non-Muslims. What are the non-Muslims supposed to do? Let ISIS slaughter them. What a stupid article.
"shattered his reputation of a man of peace at all costs"
Actually the Catholic Church has never preched peace at all costs. It has in my opinion a very valid theory on the concept of the Just War. And if ever a war were just it would be one against those murdering psychopaths of ISIS.
One of the criteria for the jusr war is proportionality, in other words does your action in killing result in fewer deaths overall. ISIS have proven that a total wipeout of every last one of them would be a blessing.
For the first three centuries, Christians were nonviolent. It wasn't until the compromise with Constantine did Christians begin contemplating the use of violence. The Gospels/teachings of Jesus had to be marginilized to get there.
Just War teaching: when have the clergy within a border ever made a war unjust before or during the conflict?
Never... The JWT is at best heresy within the Church.
Aint it a hoot that the two most decorated "Peaceniks". the Pope and Obama are admitedly neck deep in violence.
Long live the Crusades.
A new Crusade ?
On November 27, 1095, Pope Urban II makes perhaps the most influential speech of the Middle Ages, giving rise to the Crusades by calling all Christians in Europe to war against Muslims in order to reclaim the Holy Land, with a cry of "Deus vult!" or "God wills it!"
The Jesuits control the Pope and the Knights of Malta who control the Fed, their Rothschild banking agents, the CIA, all the intelligence agencies along with the DOD. The basis of their power is the Fed global reserve dollar and Petrodollar free money machine.
Iran and Russia will probably start accepting non-dollar payments for their gas and oil to EU and thats why our Jesuit-controlled CIA is desperate to derail construction of Russian pipelines running through Bulgaria and Syria. The Petrodollar is now fighting for it's life and is about the only thing propping up Americs - when it goes we're cooked.
ISIS fighters are paid by the CIA to derail the Syrian pipeline, but from Iraq this time. Their job is to destabilize Iraq and overthrow pro-Iranian Malaki. Mission accomplished. Their next job is to scare Americans into running to Big Government for protection. Just show cut-off heads and screech "We will drown you in blood". In Ukraine, the CIA deposed the elected president and installed their puppet - then shot down the Malaysian airliner to blame on Putin.
America has been controlled by these cruel, callous and manipulative Jesuits since the Fed Act in 1913. You can't convince the sheeple of this or that they have been poisoned by them with toxic food, water and medicine. It's so sad to see my fellow Americans so manipulated and clueless by a foreign takeover by this organized crime syndicate posing as a religious order.
They've poisoned four popes in 1773, 1939, 1958 and 1978 and I'm sure Francis, despite being the first Jesuit Pope is aware that he better behave or he will be dead meat too.

The Pope did NOT endorse force or violence.
That people have to be protected from evil is not an issue. Jesus came to protect people from evil now and forever. Indeed He came to protect people from evil by vanquishing evil. The Christian cannot just stand by, as Jesus did not just stand by, and let evil run rampant, while he or she does nothing but watch it take its course. To give but one obvious example, it would wrong to simply watch the Palestinian people be subjected to war crime after war crime, crime against humanity after crime against humanity, hideous evil after hideous evil by the Natanyahu-Shamir-Begin disciples within Israel and Judaism, and do nothing.
As Pope Francis said to reporters flying back to Rome from Korea, "In these cases, where there is an unjust aggression, I can only say that it is licit to stop the unjust aggressor. I underscore the verb 'stop.’ I'm not saying 'bomb' or 'make war,' just 'stop.' And the means that can be used to stop them must be evaluated."
In the First World’s media frenzy to morally validate its own anti-Gospel violence justifying value system, it preemptively flooded every avenue of communication with the idea that what Francis said is that it is morally legitimate for Catholics and Christians to go into Israel and Gaza and kill the unjust killers of Palestinian men, women and children. He did not say that! Read the statement. He did not endorse military violence as a moral means for Catholics, Christians, or anyone else for that matter, to stop violence.
But, the universal media presentation of his words is that he morally put Peter’s seal of approval on taking out the sword violent military interventionist action against the likes of Israel for the “unjust aggression” it is carrying out against Palestinians, as well as, against other groups engaged in “unjust aggression.” He did not. Read his words. The secular and the Constantinian Christian media blitzkrieg to saturate the world with the thought that Pope Francis approves of Catholics and Christians, and non-Christians, using militarized homicide to stop violence is so completely overwhelming and suffocating all other possible thought on the subject that what Francis actually said cannot be separated from what others are saying he said, which, in fact, he did not say.
“I'm not saying 'bomb' or 'make war,' just 'stop.' I underscore the verb 'stop.’ Those are not words that morally validate Catholics or Christians or anyone else using military violence. If anything the word “not” of itself communicates that military violence and homicide is exactly what he is not morally endorsing let alone advocating.
“And the means that can be used to stop them must be evaluated." ‘Means’ are always evaluated in terms ends desired and ideas that transcend the immediate moment. For example, if a person says, “We need to evaluated that candidate for the job,” he or she means that there are standards that exist independent of the person that must be used to measure whether this candidate is suited or not suited to do the job that is available. The candidate has to meet those standards, to whatever degree desired by the employer, or else he or she will not have the value that the company needs in that job and his evaluation for the job will be a negative one.
So also states Pope Francis, this must be the case in dealing with stopping an “unjust aggressor,” whether it be by Israel, the United States, Britain, ISIS, France, Russia, etc. Certainly in evaluating the means that need to be employed to simply stop an “unjust aggressor,” the means being evaluated are not the means needed to conquer or to destroy or to procure surrender from an “unjust aggressor.”
“The means to stop them must be evaluated." Francis “underscores the verb 'stop.’” “Unjust aggressors” can be stopped in an untold number of ways other than killing and maiming them. For example in the case of Israel, the U.S. and the EU notifying Israel that all aid military and domestic will be cut off immediately by emergency executive order for an extended time into the future unless it stops its “unjust aggression” against the Palestinians, that dual citizenship status of people holding both Israeli and US or EU citizenship would be terminated and the person would have to make a choice and a renunciation, divestment from Israeli corporations, etc. have very high probability of stopping “unjust aggression” against the Palestinians.
In the case of ISIS or other non-state terrorist groups, who never possess the wherewithal to make one AK 47 or its ammunition, one M 16 or its ammunition, rockets or rocket launches, short range, long ranger or battlefield missiles, or any other piece of modern weaponry or replacement parts, cutting of their weapons supply has about a equally extremely high probability of stopping the “unjust aggression” of the non-state group. The black market organizations and operators who make a fortune in the arms trade by running a perpetual and overflowing river of armaments into ISISesque groups across the globe are known to every major governmental intelligence agency in the world. Moreover, those who finance the purchase of those weapons are traceable and known. Both the black market arms makers and those super-wealthy people and organization and states that ultimately pick-up the tab for the weapons have million and billions of dollars worth of assets in the U.S. and the EU that can be frozen or confiscated in order to stop the flow of that without which ISIS and ISISesques non-state “unjust aggressors” cannot operate.
Until such steps, and many, many others that are available, are taken against “unjust aggressors”—state or non-state—it is impossible to claim one has reach the point of last resort, which is the point one needs to reach before homicidal violence can be morally justified even in just war theory.
