Ukraine Issues Statement On "Illegal" Entry By Russian Convoy, Warns Of "Planned Provocation"

Tyler Durden's picture

Because the comedy never ends. Btw, how is that "evidence" of a destroyed Russian convoy coming along... or the MH-17 ATC tapes? Any minute now?

From the Ukraine Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Statement of the MFA of Ukraine in connection with illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine by the Russian convoy

On August, 22 Russia began smuggling humanitarian aid to Ukraine, ignoring established international rules, procedures and agreements, without the consent and escort of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Although the border and customs services of Ukraine have already started clearance of the Russian convoy, in the morning Ukrainian officials were blocked by the Russian forces and detached from the inspection of the rest of the trucks in the column, despite previous agreements and the fact that they had been invited to the territory of Russia. We are concerned about the safety of our employees. Moreover, deep concern is raised because so far neither Ukrainian side nor the ICRC are aware of the content of the cargo.

The fact that Russian trucks entered the territory of Ukraine without proper border and customs procedures and that the cargo was not donated to the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross indicates deliberate and aggressive nature of Russia’s actions.

As we have previously emphasized the Russian side is fully responsible for the safety of the cargo. It is important to note that the Ukraine has already taken all necessary measures to ensure the security of the cargo.

In order to prevent any provocations we have issued all necessary instructions for the safe passing of the convoy. Despite all attempts by the Ukrainian side the contact between the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the one of Russia, has not been established, which is critical to ensure security along the route. We point out that terrorists carry out mortar attacks along the possible route of the cargo.

We also are not aware of the content of the agreements of the Russian side with Luhansk insurgents and we do not exclude the possibility of any planned provocation.

We consider this act to be another flagrant violation of the fundamental principles of international law, including inviolability of borders, non-interference in the internal affairs of another state and bona fide fulfillment of international obligations by the Russian Federation.

We call on all international partners to join the strong condemnation of illegal and aggressive acts of the Russian Federation.

So it's "the Ukraine" after all? And some headlines from Yatseniuk:

  • YATSENYUK SAYS CONVOY IS FARCE, NOT HUMANITARIAN AID
  • YATSENYUK: UKRAINE SEEKS 4-PARTY TALKS W/ RUSSIA, U.S., EU
  • YATSENYUK SAYS RUSSIA VIOLATED INTERNATIONAL LAW

And the punchline:

  • YATSENYUK SAYS PUTIN PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR CONVOY SAFETY

So, attack imminent which will then be blamed on Russia as a false flag attemp provocation. Got it.

"Btw, how is that "evidence" of a destroyed Russian convoy coming along... or the MH-17 ATC tapes"

My guess is the ATC tapes indicate suspicious things, and the black box voice recorder confirms those same details, and hence no release.   A "doctored" release is too risky as there may be independent recording of the ATC comm.

As I've posted yesterday (5125390), Russia does not need to invade the Ukraine.  But Russia does need to prepare for war with the US, via its NATO proxies.  Fact is, "the US is Militarizing Ukraine For War With Russia" -Sergei Glazyev (Economic Adviser to Pres. Putin)

Most of the world actually believed the "destruction" of the russian convoy, which never happened of course, as I suspected from the beginning.

Poroshenko is trying very hard to show Ukraine as the victim and he is managing very well.

This is very important.

The more the world is convinced that Ukraine is the victim, the easier it gets to actually mount a real counter attack on Putin.

If the war in the Ukraine was going well for the Kiev Junta, you can bet that washington vipers like ReichsFuehrer Nudelman would be front and center in Kiev, taking credit.  Instead, she is hiding under a rock, keeping her ugly mouth shut, as the Ukraine politically implodes. This  tells you what is really going on, that the Ukraine is losing badly and political operatives like Nudelman are disassociating themselves from the mess.

The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other. Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion…We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view. This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time."

Given this is a friday, I'm guessing the convoy will be attacked either after noon (NY time), or Saturday morning when not many will be around to read past the AP headlines. By Monday, who knows what will have transpired to ensure WWIII finally gets off of the ground.

Well, Porky is beating VVP in the propaganda war in the sense that that's all he does (except for when he orders white phorphorous to be dropped on his own civilian population), whereas VVP and Russia do not do propaganda at all.  Yes, they say stuff, but because it's not in English, it has no resonance, and because it's not an exercise in mendacity designed to mislead world opinion, it's not really propaganda in the Goebbels-like sense of the term.

Russia desparately needs to find effective ways of making the moral case for what it's doing to world public opinion (that wouldn't be Goebbels-style propaganda, that would be what Ronald Reagan called "public diplomacy.")  Truth and justice are overwhelmingly with Russia in this sad Ukrainian affair.

Your better believe it.  It's not Russia that destabilized Ukraine.  It's not Russia that is seeking to encircle and ultimately dismember anyone else (the USA, for example.)

VVP is no fool.  Shortly after he took office, when he saw the US going after such Russian friends and clients as Serbia and Iraq, he saw the writing on the wall and said: "We Russians will not be cannon fodder for the New World Order."  Since then, we've gone after (and utterly ruined) Libya, Syria and Ukraine -- also friends of Russia.

Russia does not do these kinds of things.  The difference between us and them is that we are the world’s foremost revolutionary, revisionist power; Russia is the world’s foremost conservative, status quo, and Christian one.

John Gray, in his book False Dawn says this about US-style globalism: it the “latest and final utopian project inspired by the 18th century Enlightenment vision of rationally directed historical progress...It is yet another attempt to remake human society, of a kind that earlier in this century inflicted on mankind the false utopia of a Communist 'universal civilization.'"

For Gray, liberal globalism and Marxism share a common “cult of reason and efficiency, their ignorance of history and their contempt for the ways of life they consign to poverty and extinction.”

Vicky Nuland and her ilk are right now consigning Ukraine to “poverty and extinction.”  Their next trick: do the same to Russia.

They hate Putin not because he isn’t a democrat (they loved Yeltsin who ruled by decree, stole the 1996 presidential election outright, and bombed Russia’s legitimately elected parliament into submission), but because he stands for Russia and appears determined to resist and that is unacceptable.

So, yes, truth and justice are on Russia’s side.

History repeats as Ron Paul explains how the first Iraq war started:

Mr. PAUL. Mr. Speaker, how did the 20-year war get started? It had been long assumed that the United States Government, shortly before Iraq invaded Kuwait in August of 1990, gave Saddam Hussein a green light to attack. A State Department cable recently published by WikiLeaks confirmed that U.S. Ambassador April Glaspie did indeed have a conversation with Saddam Hussein one week prior to Iraq's August 1, 1990, invasion of Kuwait. Amazingly, the released cable was entitled, ``Saddam's Message of Friendship to President Bush.'' In it, Ambassador Glaspie affirmed to Saddam that ``the President had instructed her to broaden and deepen our relations with Iraq.'' As Saddam Hussein outlined Iraq's ongoing border dispute with Kuwait, Ambassador Glaspie was quite clear that, ``we took no position on these Arab affairs.''

There would have been no reason for Saddam Hussein not to take this assurance at face value. The U.S. was quite supportive of his invasion and war of aggression against Iran in the 1980s. With this approval from the U.S. Government, it wasn't surprising that the invasion occurred. The shock and surprise was how quickly the tables were turned and our friend, Saddam Hussein, all of a sudden became Hitler personified.

Kiev’s constant insistence that the convoy be turned over to the Red Cross makes one suspicious of the ICRC officials t here. It’s been less than a year that the head of the Uganda Red Cross Society was implicated in smuggling of contraband goods.

Sherman H. Skolnick, the late Founder/Chairman Citizen's Committee to Clean Up the Courts, outlined in 1999 international suspicions that the Red Cross was facilitating the CIA in the smuggling of weapons:

“The NATO attack on Serbia regarding their province of Kosovo is part of a much larger picture. According to well-informed financial and other police, in Italy, Great Britain, and the United States, the International Red Cross, supposedly dedicated to humanitarian deeds, has reportedly been implicated in smuggling weapons to the Kosovo Liberation Army, KLA. Yet, drug enforcement authorities worldwide recognize that the KLA have long been considered as the major druglords of Europe...

“Further, American, British, and Italian law enforcement authorities are inquiring into the suspected role, in the arms smuggling and use of the proceeds, of Elizabeth Dole, until recently head of the American Red Cross. She is now a candidate for President in the year 2000 Election.

“...Mrs. Dole, according to some campaign funding experts, receives funds as a presidential hopeful from the Kosovo Liberation Army....

“The police in the three countries contend the arms smuggling to the KLA has been arranged, with the help of the American CIA, through Portugal among other places. And the International Red Cross have reportedly played the role of facilitators…”

About fake paid accounts for Western audience 2:

Censored ... yesterday evening I had an opportunity to check your posts. Have you seen yourself how your guys are working? I am sorry for that, but you are useless. Tell me, do your guys have any imagination? What kind of user names do you use? PATHETIC LYING RUSSIA, Putin is a NAZI PIG, DISGUSTING FASCIST RUSSIA, Putin is like Hitler, Putin is a LIAR and THIEF, Another ruSSian lie. Censored, it is obvious that these are fake accounts and can be used only for trolling. Did we ask you to do that? A clear goal has been set for you: pretending as you are ordinary people from different parts of the world, you should support Kiev, blame Putin and KGB propaganda. I have no idea what are your people doing. Why all your accounts registered in Canada? Censored, Alik, these are simple things, they are obvious!

About fake paid accounts for Western audience 3:

Alik, we are reading your comments and we are shocked! Are you drunk? You have just one user, who's writing from different locations in the same day! You have to stop it. It is no good. I will send Garik to you and he's going to tune up the Europe for you. I repeat once again: you need to pretend as you are european and use different locations. You need to make semblance like europeans support ukrainians - till the very end! Do not use Canadian accounts for a while. I think it is obvious they are fake.

In case if someone does not believe. I have found one of the fake users from the email. Here you go: DISGUSTING FASCIST RUSSIA. Surrey, Canada. The rest of the fake accounts you can find yourself.

Russia should send a truck packed completely full of dildos. It's a brilliant plan because it's nonsensical. The western media would correctly report that Russia tried to ship dildos to Ukraine. People in the west would assume the report was bullshit, and would damage the credibility of western media.

The US is looking a real Mickey Mouse country being led by the nose by Communist kleptocrats in Kiev and Polish schemers like Sikorski and Kwasniewski. It is sad to see how the US has decayed and is now being asked to honour its warranties on Libya, Iraq, and soon Afghanistan.......what a shambles.

For some reason it thinks it can waste military kit in Ferguson it will need in Iraq to replace the stuff they are going to give away to Taliban in Afghan. It then thinks it can fight a nuclear war with Russia and China and get its stuffed puppets like Hollande and Cameron to join in with Mutti Merkel tagging along behind.

This comedy as you put it in Kiev is making the USA look really half-witted and coupled with the rise of ISIS backed with the Guns from Benghazi and CIA money - well it is like some Death Wish. I mean Medvedev did not stop Obama in Libya but Putin did in Syria, and the US still went on to support the head-choppers and let them take over Iraq.

The doctrine of Permanent War has been tried in Europe - 30 Years War, 100 Years War......Europeans are not that keen......maybe a 30 Year War between ISIS and the US on US soil would meet Obama's need for thrills off the golf course ?

"In Mariupol shot Ranger from USA

21.08.2014

In Mariupol from an anti-tank rifle design Simonov (ATGM) shot a veteran of the 3rd battalion of Rangers.

The mercenary from the United States arrived at the training center for recruits from the armed forces of Ukrainian nationalists under Mariupol as a senior instructor.

According to some estimates, killed American veteran is one of those who participated in the events of October 3-4, 1993 in Mogadishu (Somalia) , when the U.S. military suffered more losses.

As noted in the message, the weapon that struck the Ranger in Mariupol, the chances for survival leaves - 64-gram 14.5 mm bullet fired from ATGM adapted militias for sniping."

Russian Foreign Ministry statement on the start of the delivery of humanitarian relief aid to southeastern Ukraine  (22-08-2014)

[...]

It is no longer possible to tolerate this lawlessness, outright lies and inability to reach agreements. All pretexts for delaying the delivery of aid to people in the humanitarian disaster zone have been depleted. The Russian side has decided to act. Our humanitarian relief convoy is setting out towards Lugansk. Naturally, we are ready to allow ICRC officials to escort the convoy and to take part in distributing aid. We hope that representatives of the Russian Red Cross Society will also be able to take part in this mission.

We are warning against any attempts to thwart this purely humanitarian mission which took a long time to prepare in conditions of complete transparency and cooperation with the Ukrainian side and the ICRC. Those who are ready to continue sacrificing human lives to their own ambitions and geopolitical designs and who are rudely trampling on the norms and principles of international humanitarian law will assume complete responsibility for the possible consequences of provocations against the humanitarian relief convoy.

We are once again calling on the Ukrainian leadership, as well as the United States and the European Union, which are exerting their influence on Kiev, to promptly launch negotiations in southeastern Ukraine and start complying with the accords formalised in the 17 April 2014 Geneva Statement by Russia, Ukraine, the United States and the EU on stopping the use of force, mitigating the humanitarian situation and immediately launching nationwide dialogue that would involve all Ukrainian regions.

Notice how he mentions events in Ukraine during this speech with Oath Keepers that allegedly took place more than 2 years ago?

Wonder if the Oath Keepers have anything to say about the fact that he still works for DoD and had this meeting with them more than a year ago?... Sure hope Stuart Rhodes doesn't let this meeting fall on "deaf ears" and is willing to corroborate what was said by Mr. Page???

I don't think kiev ever had any intentions of allowing that aid to reach the eastern cities. the seige is ment to starve the rebes and civilian population out, to allow illness, disease and other medicail complications run rampant duie to lack of supplies. the constant shelling and airstrikes are ment more to terrorize, destroy infrastructure and kill civilians then they are ment to attack and destroy legit military targets. these people recieving aid would, of course, undue much of the progress kiev has made in thier goals

interestingly according to what I have read on the actual sisuation on the ground, even in our own MSM none of the progress claimed recently by the kiev regiem can be verified independantly. in fact interviews with soldiers paint a very different picture of how much "success" the army has actually had. they site the exact oppisite of what we read in the headlines, a lack of any progress due to poor equipment that frequently brakes down, ammo and supply shortages, a lack of any cohesive command and control structure and just an overall under equiped, under trained and demorelized fighting force. one solider stated that he felt this war would go on forever and that it could not be won on the ground.

and if the seige is indeed broken by aid reaching these cities that just sets the kiev regiem back even further from thier goals. it will become far more difficult, if not impossible to break wills and destroy spirits, to drown people in fear and terror with Russian aid rolling in by the truck load. this was the worst possible thing that could have happened for kiev, short of a direct Russian military intervention.

of course there is not much kiev can do about it at this point either, the stalling tatic was all they really had. they could not hope to get away with destroying the convoy and then blaming it on the rebels, even Gobbels himself could not spin that one, it would have exposed the kiev regiem for what it really is, a muderous group of criminals killing thier own people. the plan I think was to delay the Russian convoy until an "international" one could take its place which could then be directed where the central government wanted it to go. as you can guess it would not have included stops in Lugansk or Dontask as the "safety and security" of the international aid workers could not be vouched for. hence those people would continue to be starved, bombed and have chemical weapons dropped on them while the international community could show it's generous humanitirien spirit to the rest of the country. you can see the psych warfare applications of this "abandon the rebels and you will recieve the bounty of the international community which supports us in kiev" type of thing.

thankfully Putin is just plain better at everything than any of his opponents on the political chess board and it goes without saying that the chocolate king should never even be allowed in the same room as him. it doesn't matter how much coaching he gets from Washington, president sweets will never be a match for Putin. and the good thing is that the people in these cities will finally get some relief, some food, some medicine and maybe a light to help get through the night that doesn't come from the flicker of exploding arty shells.

and here's another novel idea the "evil Hilter wanna be" Putin is showing us here in the land of militerized police...

you don't actually have to bomb a country to render assistance to those people who live within it.

imagine that.

Though the too many typos among the lines are a bit annoying, so I take the liberty to straighten them and repost the lines in full for the reading benefit of the most ZHers here.

Russia does not care anymore about the terirtorial integrity of Ukraine.

Russia has basically recognized, that there is no executive, jurisdicoon, or political power of Kiev on the territory of Novorossia.

Without using a military force, they manage to accelerate the disintegration of Ukraine.

I find this move from Putin very clever. Ukrainians want to celebrate the day of independence (24. august) with a great victory over Novorossia and go to Minsk on 26.august with some hard agruments. Nov Putin was dealing once more and gave them a bad stock of cards on the hand. Puur jewish zionists in Kiev.
