in the leadup to the Iraq war, the late Tim Russert interviewed Colin Powell, in a resort next to the Red Sea. Russert asked a tough question, and the camera went off of Powell and aimed at some palm trees. the Sec of State then asked, (begged) an individual named Elizabeth, to please put the camera back on him. CNBC did not have control of the interview. beheading is probably no worse than any form of execution, the real human pain in this is that you have no control over what is happening to you.
You're so far removed from the food chain that you have no idea what you're talking about. You've obviously never even cut an animal's throat. Here's a hint, it takes quite a while for them to stop kicking. You've also obviously never been part of the butchering process when you cut the head off. I promise you that I'm pretty good with a knife, and it sometimes takes me quite a bit of poking before I can find the gap between the vertebrea (kinves don't do well on bones, you have to find the joint). That's on a lifeless carcass hanging on a gambrel. Not on a still-living-human.
I'm not saying we should get involved in another war. I'm telling you that beheading with a knife is a fucking brutally painful way to go.
for most americans this is the only brutality their perceptions are cognitively tuned (or trained) to receive, a media image, broadcast for mass consumption, with the purpose of marketing some other product or idea, (or even ideology; propaganda). on the other end of this video there is a real event (unlike the making of the latest SpiderMan movie). on the other side of a plastic covered steak in the supermarket counter there is a real event also, but that screen doesn't transmit the image or message quite as well, and its convenient to ignore some brutality, and raise our collective voice about another. civilization is a form of compressed and repressed violence. a hundred years ago man moved about using one horse power, now it takes a few hundred. (a man riding a horse may extend himself into his environment just about any way he wants, but a man driving a powerful car on a busy street must be in absolute control of his emotions (he must have his impulses contained and repressed.) in an agrarian cutlure, the meaning of this violence is singular, but through the retrieval process, from present to past in our case, all that compressed violence is projected onto our perceptions of that singular act of violence and it becomes symbolic of something, often whatever the media managers want it to be. the statue of liberty for instance, was a gift from the French, who know something about beheading, and there are a few around this website who would like to put the central bankers on the guillotine. such brutality (or the mere depiction of that brutality) serves a purpose, as a means of expression. and you are apparently very open to the message.
Hey philosopher, step away from the ivory tower for a second. You can pontificate all you want and sound really smart to yourself. Both of your posts indicate you have never experienced being part of the food chain, but that doesn't stop you from prattling on about it.
My point is simple. Beheading with a knife is a brutal way to go. Guillotines are quick and not even in the same ballpark. Bloviate all you want, you can't change that fact.

I try not to be conspiratorial, but why would a group who supposedly wants to instill the most fear in everyone cut the video during the actual event? The only reason that I can think of is if a struggle happened or something but that doesn't make sense.....you would pass out very quickly from loss of blood pressure. Something stinks here.
Edit: Ok I see that they think the video was just a production and the murder happened off camera. I guess that's possible.
I didn't see the taped event, just what the media put out. However, there were some things that just didn't jive and I told the missus this was bogus. I don't believe it was a real execution. Theater. To cause a reaction. Good points, Cheyenne.
The act of beheading another human being provides no means for creative commentary, political cartoon or grapic arts-wise.
Eiher device - the political cartoon or your baliwick WB7 - satirizes or parodies using the artist's wit to mock something that deserves to be made fun of. Humor is at the very core of the artform, tho. Enjoying the truth of the humor is a key part in getting the desired point across. The lampoon is indeed a very civilized behavior.
But the butchering - the slaughtering - on camera of a living breathing man is so inhumane - so beyond the scope of civilized behavior there is nothing - but horror - to work from. Nothing to base the satire/parody upon. Nothing to laugh at. (Perhaps human civility is as much a prerequisite for editorial artwork as humor is.)
I grew up on National Lampoon magazine (Michael O'Donaghue and the Chappaquidick VW ad) so maybe I'm getting old WB7, but a beheading video speaks for itself. It neither requires or deserves any other reportage. (I do believe it should be available for those who must view it. I doubt many do a second but 100% transparency for better or worse - ghastly so in this case.)
By definition, provocative and effective artistic commentary goes right to the edge of good taste, but not past it. Imho you took a step over the line here, WB7. Up-arrowing your poster posts provides me an allmost daily kick - "Man, that guy GETS it" - being my usual response. correct, the video was staged and fake and did not even depict a beheading. it merely suggested a beheading so unconvincingly that the msm refused to show it and advised everyone not to look at it as the value of it is zero. rather than question and investigate

and found there was no video showing a beheading. only a video suggesting
