As If Millions Of European Voices Suddenly Cried Out In Terror: US Threatens More Russian Sanctions

Tyler Durden's picture

After two rounds of escalating sanctions, which have pushed if not Russia then certainly Europe to the brink of a triple-dip recession, the US has a modest proposal for Russia: to cripple Europe's economy even more, or said otherwise, even more sanctions for Russia!

In short: Mario Draghi is rejoicing as the time to cut Europe's GDP forecasts once again is here, which also means more easing from the ECB is now assured, thus making the uber rich even richer, while continuing the evisceration of the global middle class.

In the meantime, one wonders if the US, which recently decided to begin bombing Iraq under the pretext of "humanitarian intervention" which is now long gone but the US bombing campaign persists with one simple purpose: to move the bombs to Syria, terminally cripple the Assad regime and allow the Qatar gas pipeline to finally enter Europe bypassing Gazprom and Ukraine entirely, will also get involved on the side of the east Ukrainians who continue to be caught in the middle of a civil war and are shelled by the Ukraine army on a daily basis. Somehow we doubt it.

And now, we eagerly await the release of even redder lines and even hashier tags by the GOTUS to show that he really means business.

Did the USSA asks the Europeans, who will be the ones that suffer from further sanctions against Russia? Maybe we should ask Victoria "fuck the EU" nudelman what she thinks?

I also can infer that the USSA must be in deeper economic trouble than is commonly portrayed by the captive MSM media.  War is the health of the state and the solution to economic catastrophe. Just ask any Keynesian.

That’s because the bureaucrats from Brussels don’t GAF about anything other than their precious socialized fiscal union/federalization.

It is the same “grand vision” scam that Trotsky and Lenin used to plunder Tsarist Russia for the Wall Street and international financiers.

I hope Scotland votes for independence,

Then the hypocrites in Washington can call for bombing the “separatists”.

Maybe the folks around Faslane will vote to stay with Briton and we can accuse London of invading that area just like Russia/Crimea and Sevastopol.

It just doesn’t get any better than this.

They'll agree until winter sets in and the supply of Russian natural gas is cut.

Washington wants to sever Europe's ties to Russian natural gas so they can start buying LNG from the USSA. Too bad it will take a few years to build the pipeline and a few million frozen European corpses for that scenario to play out.

I'm well aware that Hillary, when she takes over as dictator, will hand what's left of the U.S. to Brussels.  That's her bag, she's totally into world government.  She's a pinup girl for the Brussel's club.  When you get your hand caught in your washing machine and want to sue, plan on buying a plane ticket because you will be unable to bring your case against a U.S. corporation in a U.S. court.

Yes, it's the same shit, different day.

The US apparently learned very little from the collapse of the Soviet Union. Meanwhile, Russians absorbed every single lesson.

The United States is a bloated, overextended empire drowning in debt and decay, just like the Soviet Union. The petrodollar is the only thing keeping us afloat, and — Spoiler Alert! — the minute it loses its status as reserve currency is the minute we completely sink.

Lately, any number of countries around the world have been visibly preparing for that exact event. Uncle Sam whistles past the graveyard.

If I remember correctly, when the USSA moved warships into the eastern Mediterranean Sea last year in preparation for bombing Syria/Assad after we all witnessed the undisputed YouTube videos, Russia moved their warships there as well to defend their interests in Syria and intimidate the USSA. When the USSA starts bombing Syria in the near future, I wonder what action Russia will take.

And remember, this is all about humanitarian aid and not a gas pipeline.

Oh, gimme a break!

In Syria itself, they probably won't be able to do anything. And chances are, depending on how the situation evolves, Bosphorus may all of a sudden find itself in "maintenance mode".

Russia has NO interest in hurting the EU, but Putin has to push the checker player into overreaching like he ALWAYS does and sever the relationship between the the US and the EU, what little remains!!

The "invasion" without it really being an invasion might just do it, and Putin has realized long ago, every strategic move he makes, the Golfer in Chief makes the predictable next move, right on cue!!

It's August in Europe, still nice and warm during the days, but getting nippy in the evenings, how much longer do you think the EU is going to play this bullshit charade with Washington, with idiot in charge, doing nothing but talking and golfing!!

Meanwhile Russia is directly trading with China, India, Iran, Latin America, and others in none USD transactions, which BTW will completely fuck up the EU and US banking cartels understanding of everything!! Tell me again why Russians will care what the Ruble to the Dollar exchange is, when their currency will buy 2x to 3x the same stuff from China and Latin America the EU and US was selling them!! And no one is going to convert back to dollars or Euro, which is why this is all insanity run by Washington and the EU is waking up fast!!

Even before that, he realized that by using dollars as a medium of exchange and storage of wealth you dig your own grave and finance your own downfall. Therefore, he means business since it's about survival. For Obama it's about keeping privileges, perks and entitlement. Guess whose motivation makes him more determined.

It is my belief that the European leaders are looking for a way out of dollar dependence. Of course, their OWN central Bank is fucking them (nation by nation, like Greece, et.al),, but they are looking for a way to be NOT left holding the bag which is USD-demoninated DEBT. At the same time, they are also concerned that Russia will become their NEW master (which is the same as the old one, but perhaps better or worse). Russia has played a masterful game so far, getting Europe dependent upon GAZPROM and LUKOIL and such for fuel supplies (especially during the winter months), and now that the deals are being made to trade in currency 'other than USD' for this fuel, it would be my thought that Saudi Arabia is the lynchpin that holds the petrodollar in place; as the primary OPEC cartel producer...

NOW, just SUPPOSE for a moment that The E.U. and the Russians (and the Chinese and the Iranians) teamed up with their 'intelligence agencies' and caused a little 'Arab Spring' to happen in Saudi Arabia... I guess if they did it now, it would be called 'Arab Fall'... Saudi Arabia and Israel are buddies, you know...

Imagine what would happen to all the U.S. bases if; all of a sudden; overnight; no one accepted Dollars for Oil any more. Imagine what would happen to the CONUS.

This is simply conjecture.

How long does the ZH audience expect the NATO pact to last, as of right now?

I think it will be GERMANY that starts it off (but I may be incorrect). France is pretty pissed as well.

I think the FED played one too many hands of poker, and is about to draw aces and eights.

Let Russia have the Ukraine (it's where Chernoybl is, and they are legally and morally responsible to keep pouring the concrete for the next 20,000 years or so). In Cryllic, the Greek word in the Bible called 'wormwood' is CHERNOYBL (from The Book Of The Revelation Of Jesus Christ To His Servant John), or so I was told. The Pacific Ocean makes up one-third of the entire volume of the seas on Earth, and a 'Chernoybl' happened at Fukushima...

In Boise, Idaho, United States, the BSU Broncos football team is having their first pre-season game tonight. A local radio station has devoted SIX AND A HALF HOURS in order to broadcast their 'pre-game show' (the game might last 2 and a half hours). Do you think that the people will recognize the bright flash and react in a way that ensures their survival when the nuclear war that has been going since 1945 goes HOT over the CONUS (after the CONUS goes to DefCon One over the loss of their 'reserve currency status'); or will they be so mezmerised by the MSM psychotronics that they will simply DIE? What will it be like in Europe? Asia? Africa?

SHIT. It's UTTER MADNESS.

A variation of it, in regards to problem solving is...

"Problems cannot be solved at the same level at which they were created".

Thu, 08/28/2014 - 21:20 | 5156681 MontgomeryScott
MontgomeryScott's picture

Close.

The primary key that needs to be employed in order to start mitigating a 'problem' is the totality and acceptence of the ROOT CAUSE of the 'problem' (even if it means shifting your perceptions regarding preconcieved notions about 'good', 'bad', and your basic perceptions about 'reality' that has been implanted without your consent). From this acceptence, it is possible to begin planning a STRATEGY that allows mitigation by attacking the 'problem' at it's 'ROOT CAUSE'. FOR EXAMPLE: The FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM, when all things are considered, is the ROOT CAUSE of ALL the issues that the United States has had to deal with since 1913. THINK ABOUT IT in a perspective that allows you to see where the funding for ALL the parties who work from within and without the CONUS to destroy the very fiber of the United States get their MONEY FROM.

Fucking ROTHSCHILDS...

Obama leads but nobody follows might be a better headline. At this point Putin holds all the cards, this will become more obvious as winter nears and events unfold.  It seems both Russia and many of the separatist in Eastern Ukraine would support federalization. Surely, no reason exist for Kiev to be opposed other than a loss of power. A more federalized government is also the most plausible way of keeping Ukraine intact.

Support for sanctions is mixed in Europe as some countries fear Russia and have an ax to grind with Putin while others wish to move forward. Saber rattling has only lead to death and destruction.  As I see it little good will come from further bloodshed and it is time for the West to stop sending money to Kiev so they can ramp up the violence and continue the civil war. More on the progress being made in the article below.

We are seeing it bit by bit.  They are building their case.  But I'm watching it with as much interest as anybody. I wonder if they just say, "hey, we're done with you?"  Just could happen.  I'm waiting.  Meanwhile, 90% of mainstream USA has no clue.  It's amazing.

My sole remaining hope is that adults behind the scenes are discussing ways and means by which the Petrodollah can be gradually released without widespread war.

But alas, instead of expanding commuter rail lines, developing alternative power sources, etc. (I know, tiresome right?  Sounding like Kunstler again, right? Borrrrring and Peak Oil is soooo 2006, right?), our Messiah, wholly an assclown and an asspuppet, has been busy installing bulletproof glass in bank teller windows all across mainstreet USA, race-baiting, arming sheriff Barney Fife & Co. with APCs and most of all, pumping for WOAR at every opportunity.  Oh, they know what is coming and the Assclown is getting us ready for the demise of the petrodollah their way.

My contempt for this Administration hits new highs every day.  The filth running the USA are the most venal, labyrinthine, repugnant clusterfuck of snakes imaginable.

Putin plays the American right wing like a harp. Unbelieveable. These folks who once agreed with their Connecticut-born cowboy that "you're either with us, or you're with the terrorists" now support Dear Leader Putin and communism. The irony is delicious.

The only items left unticked on the sanctions list are gas and Putin.  Have fun trying to sanction either of them.  This could be good.

Let's summarize:  Thus far the sanctions mean the USA enjoys importing no more Russian vodka, no more Russian caviar, no more Russian-made AK-47s, no more roubles used in Brooklyn, NY, chop-shops, no more Russian-made Skodas sold in Detroit ... I can't think of anything else impacted by previous sanctions. The US consumer is really suffering. Let's hope the list isn't expanded.

But wait! Importing Russian oil and utilizing their space-launch facilities remain on the okay list. Like, man, what else is there to sanction?

Sanction Russian gas and oil.  See if the Europeans go along with that.   I'd love to see American's faces when gasoline is $7 or $8 a gallon...  Europe's $15+ gallon.  Should go over well.
