The Battle For Strategic Mariupol Begins As NATO Vows To Do "Whatever It Takes"
Update: behold the shelling...
Shelling is reported to have started on the eastern outskirts of Mariupol, Ukraine, according to local reporters on social media. This crucial city, due to its standing as the last major city standing in the way of a land connection to Crimea (from Russia) across the Southern border. Furthermore, Mariupol's strategic importance as a port and major industrial city is crucial to Kiev who are reinforcing the city after losing Novoazovsk last week, with the Ukrainian army on full alert. NATO has been actively sabre-rattling this morning, pulling a full Draghi by threatening to do "whatever it takes" to defend ourselves and our allies, and offering training and support for Ukraine (as they report over 3,000 Russian troops in Ukraine). Escalation?

"Artillery and tank fire audible on eastern edge of Mariupol. Ukrainians say 4 armored columns advancing towards Shirokina. Hint of panic:" France 24 journalist Robert Parsons says in Twitter post
"Apparently, the rebel tanks have left Novoazovsk several hours ago and are moving towards Mariupol now. Their current position is unclear:” freelance journalist Petr Shelomovskiy says in Twitter post

NATO has some comments too...
“We have left no doubt that we will do whatever it takes to defend ourselves,” NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen says.
Rasmussen: “Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has been a wake-up call. It has reminded all of us that our freedom, security and prosperity cannot be taken for granted. Some are trying to redraw dividing lines in Europe with force”
Terrorism, Middle East turmoil, Russia’s aggression, the threats of cyber-warfare confront NATO with a “climate of chaos” on its borders, he says
Rasmussen: “We will adopt a readiness-action plan that will make our forces faster, fitter and more flexible, ready to address any challenges, whenever they come and from wherever they come”
Rasmussen: Readiness plan to center on “a military unit that can be deployed at very short notice if needed. It would be followed by more forces if needed”
NATO will step up cooperation with Ukraine, help build up and advise Ukraine’s military, he says
Rasmussen: “We will adopt a substantial package for Georgia, a package that will bring Georgia closer to NATO, including a defense-capacity initiative, establishing a training center in Georgia, occasionally also exercises in Georgia”
Rasmussen: “I see NATO as an alliance with a global perspective, not as a global policeman. We can’t solve all crises all over the world”
* * *
If this is not escalation, then we are baffled as to what is...

Now it seems Ukraine wants 'talks' again...

hmmm what the hell is NATO doing in a former Soviet republic? Didnt they cut a deal not to expand east into the former warsaw pact countries a while back? defend ourselves?? lmao
"NATO attacks!" by Mr. Pepe Escobar 9/3/14
http://atimes.com/atimes/World/WOR-02-030914.html
absolutely,`enlightening'....!
jmo
Escobar has called EVERYTHING right.
Rasmussen: “Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has been a wake-up call. It has reminded all of us that our freedom, security and prosperity cannot be taken for granted."
So wait, now Russia hates us for our freedom too?
No they hate us because we invented Iphones, selfies, and twerking.
Fair enough...come to think of it I hate us too.
Boogity:
and here I thought they hated us because we gave Obama a job....
From now on I say we use the phrase "freedom roulette" or "liberty roulette"
The Bankers control Governments, they profit from War so which side are they on?
You answered your own question.
The NATO and Kiev fountains of bullshit are pretty astonishing. But the overall US strategic plan is going just fine, thank you very much. The Ukie Nazis can't compromise or surrender because nobody in his right mind will trust a Nazi's agreement. Putin can't and won't actually invade Ukraine, any more than NATO will put troops into the actual fighting. So the stage is set for a long, nasty guerilla war. A dumpster fire on Russia's doorstep, where major pipelines run through, and where important industrial and agricultural resources are. It's perfect for the Brzezinski/Wolfowitz/Kissinger long-term strategy. The US and its proxies will do everything they can to keep the violence and chaos going for as long as possible. Meanwhile, look for violence to crop up elsewhere on the perimeter of Russia and/or China. ISIS has done its part, piping up about Russia and Chechnya. I'd keep on eye on Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan; that area. Whichever one has the most readily-manipulated internal divisions and sufficient crazy bastards willing to kill, given the weapons, intel and money to do so.
Sadly this is what will happen and the losers will be the Ukrainian people just as the Syrians have been big losers caught and chewed up between two outside powers who don't give a shit about their well-being. This 'low-level' with proxies doing the main fighting is going to go on for a while too.
I fully expect the Russians to either start sending troops over the Crimean border or open a new front north of Luhansk in the next month if things go back to being a stalemate given that those areas have heavy percentages of Russian minorites too and it forces the Ukrainians to commit in yet another area
Yes and no. The chaos is continuing but it has been revealed for what it is to all but the mind controlled and severely medicated. Can this strategy continue for years? I think not, as the economy is on the brink of disaster and domestically America is only a crisis away from civil war. The ISIS fiction can only mean one thing, a major war - most likely in Iran. Not as big as Russia, but it's a whole other game than what we've seen for a few decades.
Another problem is that the passive leaders are now causing many to call for strong-armed leaders of USNATO. Eventually this will lead to harsh psyop leaders here in the West. It's a feedback loop, whether ratcheted up or ratcheted down the machine is falling apart. War and a new method of leadership are on the horizon. And this could be much worse than any of us imagine.
Until Putin and co. in China decide to return the favor by hitting the big red button regarding our hollowed shell of an economy. It comes down to physical resources; they have more than we do. There are levels of survival that the leadership of both countries are willing to accept, and they are more than happy to get a short-term Pyrrhic victory for wiping us out economically on the world stage long-term. Look at how well sanctions worked on Russia.
Proveable facts about Ukraine:
Putin calls for talks and ceasefire.
NATO and Yatsenuk call for escalation with a losing hand.
All you need to know.
If this does not end well for Russia it will mean that it ends terribly for Europe, and not so well for the USA.
my guess : some EU leaders want a limited war between them and someone else, Putin in this case, so that they can keep talking about coming together, need for more integration, and so on. Probably in their heads the scenario is ready : limited defeats at first (Kiev on the verge of falling ?), more union (these EU common defense units expanded and on the ground), then limited (no step of Russia's soil) victory after. Celebrations. Cut.
so nuclear war b4 during or after winter??
The US thought it would protect its hegemony by restricting Russia through making Ukraine another US base.
Instead has made Russia strategically stronger in the longer term, and will ruine Europe's economy even further.
It's "possible" that there are concerns over a crumbling key pipeline country. It never was and never will be about Russia screwing up the delivery; and with Russia now turning its attention toward funneling its energy to China the US/West is in a panic- "protecting" the pipelines with no flow coming in is kind of meaningless...
The interest is all about the western bankers trying to hold together their collapsing economic trade system. And the winning strategy against any big system is to just turn and walk away from it, which is, in essence, what Russia is doing with focusing trade relations away from the West and toward China. Kind of hard to paint someone as evil because they find a more reliable client/customer to sell to: easier, of course, if there's some semblance of violence that can be attributed (such as egging on Russia to engage in military actions in Ukraine).
maybe more worrying than the actual sabre rattling is the disconnect between NATO's Rasmussen and reality. As if our leaders and media were living in an alternate reality (I remember Cheney or a like called it empire power) where what they say is magically true and universally accepted. That's the stuff from which the biggest delusions (and war) are made...
I wrote this after the "We have no strategy for ISIS" press conference, but it's points are still - actaully moreso - valid:
Tell me, after reading the story about not being at war with IS, and yesterday Obama admitting he has weeks for golfing, but no time to devote to dealing with the IS threat – how do you continue to take his press secretary Josh Earnest, called “Joshing Earnestly” by insiders, as anything but a buffoon?
The reality that Obama has to admit he is completely without a plan for IS is the most frightening words I have ever heard spoken by an American president. He is admitting, in a summary exposition of his mental health, what others have said all along – “I am mentally and emotionally incompetent for this office, I am not able to mentally and emotionally handle the requirements of this office, and all of you are on your own because I’m no longer mentally and emotionally connected to the responsibilities of this office – I have mentally and emotionally disconnected from reality and now exist in a bubble of my fancy. Good luck – I’ve already mentally and emotionally checked-out of the presidency.”
This weekend plan with no time to dealing with IS - again - but rather only with positive bubbles where he is hailed as a super-hero, shows just how far Obama is gone.
Seriously. Stop lying to yourself about it. He is a broken man.
Obama is suffering from an evolving mental breakdown. He is down to only appearing before highly reinforcing groups, or escaping completely onto the golf course.
The reality that he spent no time developing a strategy for IS shows he is no longer capable – mentally – of facing up to complex issues that do not give him immediate gratification the way fundraisers and golfing do.
Forget impeachment – the 25th Amendment is going to get him out of office.
His mental illness – the inability to cope with his life in its reality, and thus his need to escape to comforting bubbles of time and people – is going to grow worse over time.
You are watching Barack Obama move every day deeper, and deeper, into the darkness of depression and self-deconstruction. In simpler terms, Barack Obama is mentally melting down into mental oblivion.
No matter how much Joshing Earnestly tries to cover for him.

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”
HL Mencken
Never forget, however, that the POTUS is NOT the one formulating the plans.
Dow and S&P all-time highs. USD still staying on top of the world's dung-heap of fiat currencies. One could no more call these "successes" as being attributable to a "moron."
you kids have no idea how absurd this truly is. growing up it was a given that the tass news agency and pravda were bs propaganda news outlets of the ussr, that nothing they say is to be believed. today, all western msm is a propaganda tool of the west where nothing is to be believed until it is balanced by rt and presstv, where the only bonafide truth comes from alt media and citizen journalists, you know, the guys .govs all over the world want to shut down.
Don't you folks realize that at the collapse of the Bolshevik USSR, those propagandists in the old TASS new agency and old Pravda did scramble to the both sides of Atlantic and since then the media quality in the NATO bloc is well improved and matches better the demand of The Ministry Of Truth.
RT and presstv are just polar opposites of the spectrum and nothing more than Russian mouthpieces.
Yes, the world turned upside down in the 1990's. I was an anti-communist Cold Warrior up to then, but realized that our biggest enemy is much nearer home.
Do you now understand that if communism was so bad (which I believe is true) that it could NEVER take over the world? (BAD SYSTEMS FAIL) It was, just as you/we are seeing, all but a smokescreen: and one has to be careful about the deal that will eventually have to be made with Russia (and China?), that it's quite possible that it'll spawn some NWO (I've always thought that it isn't possible, but on the other hand I never really rule anything out)- POWER will do whatever is necessary to stay on top.
NSA pass this along will ya, thanks. Russia has a thousand year history in this part of the world, we are not going to send our sons to die in this manipulated shit show for bankers, petrodollars and NG, not going to do it. We are not fooled, the bernays sauce is not working anymore and you will have to shutdown the net for it to be effective. We know what will happen if you do that, so get back to the drawing board for your false flags maybe enough of us will buy that shit..
"we are not going to send our sons to die in this manipulated shit show for bankers, petrodollars and NG, not going to do it. "
Remember Iraq? It's the same playbook. Really, it was the same playbook {attempt} with Iran and Syria. And the same, largely literally Zionist neocons at work.
You have zionists/neocons at the helm of the NGOs for the color revolutions (and were hard at work in Russia itself before 2 years ago). Why would so many of these anti-Russian types be Zionist Jews?
I dunno man, all I know is they are, and you aren't supposed to talk about it, although the facts are clear enough. They were allowed to set up an office, within the Pentagon, Zionist Neocon Jews, expressly to work with Mossad to lie us into Iraq to fulfill the Oded Yinon/PNAC line of plans.
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2004/01/lie-factory
That's fuckin' amazing. The agency knew it was happening, and rather than eliminate a Wurmser or a Feith, let them lie us into a needless war - a war that idiots will claim was "for oil" thus covering the issue as to why it was all right wing Jews with ties to Israel screaming for it [sure, along with Cheney and Rummy and Woolsey] - with Syria and Iraq, the line is that it's about Qatari gas pipelines, which has made me and a few of my homies {if you will} l-o-l. Not with Leviathan in play, and besides, you don't try to get a pipeline through by sowing chaos for years - that's a way to *prevent* one - namely the Iran-Iraq-Syria one. In fact, the fuckery started soon after that deal was inked. Europe would have Iranian and Azeri gas via Syria by now. You would think the Russians would be against that - there's always more in play than gas pipelines, but surely Iran and Russia would have worked together in Europe and in Stanistan and may still...
I remember Iraq quite well thank you, hence my post. I have learned from my history and will not be repeating any of it. This, all of this, is a race to educate masses before they are manipulated into global war, I do what I can as I see you do, it is all we can do for now.
This guy explains it all. How the Zionists work. How they take orders from the Mossad. How they are embedded everywhere. How they dominate and control the discourse and policy of most western counties. And he should know because he was a Zionist. It's long but well worth the watch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLzHtFW-mC6vGh07g8RK7sUITTYsQYBlN0&v=uozc5ADGlug#t=752It's all about who owns and CONTROLS the pipelines. The Plan, which was working well under the Yeltsin administration, was to give the resources and the pipelines to the Russian Zionist Jews. Putin threw a big monkey wrench into The Plan when he nationalized Khodorkovsky's Yukos. The Zionist share of the spoils suddenly got much smaller. Western Zionist owned politicians and media screamed about the injustice of it all.
Ukraine is part of Pipelinestan, the choke points between cheap energy middle east and western Europe. Russian, Iranian and Qatari gas is just worthless stranded gas without a transport mechanism. The billionaire Zionists, the real PTB, and their CIA and MI6 servants are hard at work to ensure that the transport and all the profits belong to the Zionist Jews. They don't care how many people die as long as they get rewarded.
There is much more gas available than there are consumers of that gas in Europe. It's all about who gets the huge middle man profits. The Zionists still think the trillion $$$ treasure is theirs. They hope NATO will provide the muscle.
It's all about the money. All wars really are.
"The agency knew it was happening, and rather than eliminate a Wurmser or a Feith, let them lie us into a needless war"
The "agency" had its instructions, clearly.
"you don't try to get a pipeline through by sowing chaos for years"
Sometimes the obvious gets discounted... Perhaps the strategy was more about keeping others from establishing a stake? The sanctions against Saddam did wonders to preserve Iraq's oil reserves.
We can ascribe motivations to groups of people all we want, but the core motivation is always about POWER, and in the case of energy there is no other readily exploitable (by those with the capacity) resource than oil/gas. ALL wars are about resources.
Duffy: It's not just the "same playbook." It's the same exact fucking people. Look up Victoria Nuland's biography. She worked for Bill Clinton as an aide to Strobe Talbott. Then she was a top advisor to Dick Cheney. Then Hilary Clinton took her to the State Department. John Kerry kept her. She's married to Bob Kagan.
It's even easier to trace than you point out.
Somewhere out there Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleza Rice and company are applauding you for showing us who the "real" culprits are!
We can thank that shit Truman for the NSA.
Rot in hell, Harry Truman!
Hold up a moment - based solely on my watching of CNN the past 2 days, and reading of NYT the past few - there's no doubt that "Russia" has invaded.
Ditto for many of the comments at their websites - although I think there really are 'paid trolls' on both.
So - kidding aside - what evidence is there of this Russian invasion, apart from some ridiculous grainy black and white 3rd party sat photos?
Anyone from the I Hate Putin Club care to answer - seriously?
The FaceBook posts and Twitter rants are pretty damning, don't you think? But really, if Russia were to actually invade, I don't think there would be any question about it. When Russians stop being subtle they do it quite thoroughly.
I can believe mercenaries are present on both sides of the conflict along side of both flavors of native ukraine soldiers. I can believe both forces are well supplied by both east and west vested interests. But I do not believe russian regulars are in theater as implied by the nato hawk's language.
I fully expect that if russian regulars do arrive, Kiev oligarchs will be jetting off to switzerland for a ski vacation and lucky to get out with their asses. It goes without saying that the rest of the world, aside from cabal, will be wishing for the good ole days of war by proxy.
Right. I agree completely.
Methinks that if this continues to go sideways, many of the temporary residents of the seats of power will be running out of Kiev in their bath robes.
The word 'Russian' is being quite abusively applied in the MSM. Being a noun and an adjective at the same time they apply it in a broad sense without formally telling a lie.
A Russian tank may mean (1) a tank of Russian design and/or built by the former USSR/RF (or even in Ukraine itself) and actually all armament over there is Russian , (2) a tank in possession of Russian speaking people, (3) a tank belonging to the RF armed forces.
Same applies to soldiers, airplanes, detachments, etc. And the majority of the public would not go too deep to separate the nuances.
We know who makes the tanks that shell Gaza, we know who makes the flechettes fired at Gaza, we know who makes the bombs that kill and main im Gaza, we know who donates a $1 billion munitions stockpile to continue the killing and maiming.......we simply wonder WHY ?
Ah! But they don't want people to understand such things! Their power is to program people to knee-jerk on command.
If people had memory spans longer than one week they would remember Russia crushing the georgian army and plowing to Tblisi in a few days. If there was a "full scale russian invasion" this whole ukraine thing would be over, period. Up arrow for you sir, and apt question, where is the evidence of this so called invasion?
"This war is just starting" Kutuzov
Whatever it takes for Israel to get their pipeline and Lebensraum.
An American, not US subject.
Why in hell are our leaders so hell-bent in starting a war with Russia?
The Soviet Union lost 20 million people during WW2. They know true misery.
And to read the first hand accounts of the Battle of Berlin -
http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/berlin.htm
If we do go to war against Russia, it will be the most least supported war by the public in U.S. history.
First, they may be your leaders, but they are not mine.
Next, they are not hellbent on starting a war, they are being used by Israel for Israel's needs-pipeline and Lebensraum.
an American, not US subject.
"The Soviet Union lost 20 million people during WW2. "
Sorry, "commies" weren't people. Only "people" that died were Jews...
i was taught about that in high school as well
So nice, a map from Ukranian war office - that must be utterly correct..... especially the conclusions drwan from it - Spitzenklasse.....
FUCK NATO.
Germany just might.
Its getting colder....pretty soon those Ukrainian conscripts and regulars will start wonder wtf they are doing fighting and freezing...for what and for who...

voodo... you are either a brainless Idiot OR a Shill for not being able to differentiate the BOLSHEVIK USSR from the RUSSIA.
Another 'poster' who thinks he and his family are on the list for the Ebola cure, or tickets to one of the DUMBs.
Working for a few bucks, only until he finds out he's not going to get anything. It's one thing to die with courage, it's another to die a coward killed by betrayal from your employers.
And the same to all the NSA and CIA people reading this. There is no room or Ebola cures for all of you, and your families. Look at your coworkers. Who gets lucky, and who doesn't? Do you really think your boss gives a shit?
Have a nice day.
As pointed out facts majority Today Russians wants USSR back. So fromtheir thinking perspective nothing has changed. You wont find poll where today germans majority wants Nazis back.
Not true.
That is a fact.

viedoklis has both the intelligence and common sense
viedoklis is either a brainless Idiot or a Shill
The USSR doesn't exist, and the Russians were as oppressed as all the other nationalities in the USSR. Stalin and Khrushchev were Georgian and Ukrainian. You Russia haters are a mixed up bunch.
Why majority Russians wants USSR?
http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Europe/2009/1223/Why-nearly-60-percent-of...
Can you show me a poll where is said "Why nearly 60 percent of Germans 'deeply regret' the Nazi demise"?
I named only facts - not my opinion. But as you can see just how many trolls hate facts. There is no discussion, simply... "ou those god damnn facts... hate them here you go some minus for those facts" Ou that's nice :)
I like when trolls faces facts and there is nothing they can do about them than curse and put minus.
Facts?!?!?! You call that facts??!?! What you just posted is pure propaganda. Using comparisons of Russia under Stalin and equating that to Russia under Putin is garbage for easily manipulated weak minds like your own. And Wikipedia - you do realize that ANYBODY can post "facts" there, don't you? It is littered with disinformation and lies. There are plently of videos made by the pro-nazi Ukraine nationalists themselves trashing the trade-union building in Odessa and killing the people hiding inside. Why should anyone believe your bullshit when they can watch the nazi Ukranian nationalists themselves commit murder on camera and rejoice in it. So your "facts" are proven to be just repeats of state propaganda.
I reiterate my claim that you are an asshole.
Noone is able to explain why majority russians today wants USSR. You also ignored this crucial fact to link why nothing has changed in their mind.
apples and oranges comparison there...
Especially since Russia isn't some middle eastern tin pot country with a rag tag defence capability.
War with Russia will cause the US more pain than it has ever encountered, one way or another, and a poorly supported war will become a domestic revolution against TPTB.
re If we do go to war against Russia...
"Who's 'We' paleface?"
If the US goes to war against Russia - there won't be any "we" left on the face of the planet.

In short they are fighting for their home, they are aren't going anywhere, and they aren't going to surrender ever! I'm sure that they understand that they will get pressure from Moscow to stand down if Putin's plan is accepted, so they are going to take as much ground as they can first.

Now it seems Ukraine wants 'talks' again...
... Because they're getting their asses kicked.
The "rebels" are past the talking point now. They'll talk when they're done.
I wonder what would happen if Putin did the following:
1) Raise gas prices on the EU to offset the sanctions cost to Russia
2) Send either long range bombers or missiles to Cuba as a present for Castro's 89th birthday. "Don't worry, USA. It's only a show.
3) Let EU know that they are arming and re-aiming Nuclear Missiles at SOME OF the EU countries as a defensive operation.
I think that #1 is a bit premature. Need that pipeline to China in place first. Speaking of that pipeline, anyone want to place wagers on there being a lot of disruptions of its construction (or soon after ompletion)? Calling ISIS...
Is this Nato clown Rasmussen really Baghdad Bob resurrected?
Don't be distracted - keep you eye on the Real Perps
Hint: They're a lot closer to home than Ukraine
Europe probably just wants to arm and support countries surrounding Russia. They don't want to actually send their own people/soldiers into the area. The current talk is all about gathering support for raising money to build up armies in those areas surrounding Russia... Nothing serious will come out of Nato until alternative fuel/energy strategies are strengthened...IMHO If NATO can stall Russia for some years but also keep the fear levels high, they may be able to get going on a different energy strategy than relying on Russian gas.

They need to move fast and mop this up if they want that lane to Crimea. Not much the Wolfowitz doctrine can do after the fact.
Here is an intersting tidbit as to why this shit is going on in Ukraine. Wouldn't suprise me one bit. Kill off the ethnic russins first then turn against the very people in Kiev who are doing the dirty work for them now. It's the Khazar way. Just like they have done throughout all of history. Turn people against each other and then profit from it.
http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/leaked-report-israel-acknowledges-jews-in...
That's an interesting article, thanks for the link...
It's not new news that most jews we know today are Ashkenazi jews who originate from Khazaria, not Palestine. But for the Times of Israel to publish a blog article admitting it, is quite something.
I'm surprised it didn't open up a huge public debate. Well, actually I'm not because virtually no jew in the West today will ever admit to being anything other than "a jew" and will rarely counternance any suggestion that he is an Ashkenazi which means he's of the 13th tribe, not from Palestine or North Africa.
Whether Israel is involved and stirring up the civil war in Ukraine for the purpose of relocating its population back to their "original" homeland or simply to expand its land territory and create Israel II, remains to be seen.
The sensible thing to do would be to let the "rebels" roll into town but do NOT fire a single shot at them! Think of it as a convention coming to town, the rebels will patronize the local stores, taverns, ladies of the night etc. and local businesses will prosper. Sooner or later, the rebels will get bored and leave or just harmoniously blend in with the locals with everybody benefiting - the locals getting increased business, the rebels get a vacation from the wife and kids, etc. From my experience in the military [and in a war], if no one is shooting at you, you will not be shooting, killing or damaging and there is NOTHING wrong with that. It takes two to tangle....
Please correct me if I am wrong, did we not basicly de-arm Ukraine (see link) in 2000?

"Cohen said the hallmark of the agreement is the Cooperative Threat Reduction program. Through the program, the United States works with Ukraine to eliminate weapon systems covered by the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty and its infrastructure for weapons of mass destruction."

Rasmussen: "NATO will step up cooperation with Ukraine, help build up and advise Ukraine’s military"
So it's OK for NATO to co-operate with Ukraine, build up its defences and provide military advice to the Poroshenko fascist govt, but claims that Russia is doing the same thing for the rebels (for which no credible evidence has been produced), well, that's bad bad and Putin must be punished with sanctions and threats of war.
Rasmussen is a Washington warmonger and a disgrace to the Danish people. He needs a bag of cockroaches shoving down his throat to shut him up.
I hope the NATO liaison are advising Ukraine on LGBT rights in the military and non-sexist terminology, and that the Dutch encourage trades unions in the Ukrainian Army. Perhaps the US can teach them how to jail and kill whistleblowers, and the British could show them how to hide in an airbase whilst militias take control of urban areas
At the same time maybe the Russians can post some videos on how to drink a 5th of vodka for breakfast.
After that they can post another one explaining why BRDM's and BMP's have skin about as thick as my Ford.
What a propagandist. LOL
And there you go...proving my point again "arby63" (if that is your real name?:-).
Get an argument.
Rasmussen is one of the many dangerous fools that rule over us serfs in the West.
Mor. "Fogh of War" Rasmussen is just following orders from his masters. A shame that NATO does not care about human rights anywhere except in places where they have oil or have a strategic interest of some kind to the Imperium.
Bahrain, Saudi....NATO cares about human rights and takes efforts to preserve them in concrete at the bottom of the bay
Don't trust Rasmussen...kinda warmongery...
Don't trust Rasmussen...kinda psychotic sociopath completely disconnected from the likelyhood that conventional war with Russia will qquickly go nuclear and wipe out the planet.
There - fixed it for ya.

1.Ukie forces stick to roads.Opposition wisely uses forests and landscape which they know well (Home turf advantage).
2.Vietnam.French then later US forces stick to roads.Vietcong and NVA use forest sanctuaries to raid from and then retire to.
3.Algeria.Again French forces control urban areas while insurgents control countryside. No travel on roads at nightime.
4.Operation Market-Garden,WW2.Attempt to resupply airborne army using raised single lane road thru Holland (mud, and more mud).
Resupply (logistics train) immediately runs into difficulties (land based) and aerial resupply is contingent upon good flying weather.
5.Way back.Roman legions decoyed into trap laid at Teutoburger Wald (Forest) by Arminius, near Leipzig,Germany. Total destruction of Roman legions and their families (campfollowers).Approx.15,000 Roman dead plus some insurgent dead.
The problem is psychological: People feel safe on the roads and fear ambush in the forests.By concentrating on the roads, they make nice big target (think Kuwait evacuation.Or retreat from Da Nang).
There was a French armored column,Group Mobile 100,which was systematically chopped to bits in the early Vietnam war.The survivors abandoned their vehicles and tried to hike their way out. Wounded were left behind....

This outrageous piece of shit warmongering propaganda appeared all over Google news today. Some selective quotes:
An open letter to Barack Obama: World War III is here
“This summer we have now seen two American journalists beheaded by the “Islamic State” – ISIS or IL or IS. We are at war, sir, whether you like it or not.”
[Same old, same old, tiresome, blatant fear mongering]
“Forget the fun on the golf course, Mr. President. Does that way of life mean anything to you, sir, or are you still so hell bent on "fundamentally changing" the American way of life that you cannot, or will not, change course and "pull the trigger?"
[I’d say we’ve been doing that in spades and are only now just beginning to receive the unavoidable blowback we so richly deserve.]
“Whether you like it or not sir, World War III has already started and it is time for America to "take arms against a sea of trouble, and by opposing," try to keep 9/11 and other attacks on America from happening again.”
[The only problem with this argument is that 9/11 was created by the same people who are trying to get us into World War III.]
“Well sir, you need to have enough stomach, GUTS, COJONES for all of us. It's called LEADERSHIP!!”
[A cheap appeal to machismo, implying that anyone who doesn’t want to go kill Arabs and our other “enemies” is a big pussy.]
“ If that is so, that America doesn't have the stomach to do what needs to be done, I say shame on us, and especially, shame on you, Mr. President. We deserve what we will get.”
I believe that it is time for America to go on wartime footing, all the way up to and including a "peacetime" draft if necessary. Heck, pay the soldiers what congressmen, senators, and your White House spin doctors make.”
[With what money? Actually, I’d love to see them start the draft again. That would put an end to this war mongering shit in a hurry. One of the worst things America did was creating a “professional” army and eliminating the draft because, in addition to being more expensive, it eliminated another avenue of mass dissent, and a highly motivated one at that – the average citizen’s inclination, right, and motivation to object to fighting and dying for a worthless bullshit cause.]
“Go save Iraq -- AGAIN. Take 20% of their oil revenue until the money we have spent freeing them -- TWICE -- is paid back. Leave a residual force there to keep this from happening again (see Japan, Germany, and Italy) and tell anyone who doesn't like it to kiss AMERICA's happy, safe rear end.”
[We’ve already tried this and it failed miserably. We didn’t save Iraq, we destroyed it. And we killed hundreds of thousands of men, women and children, and rendered homeless millions more in the process.]

If you want to understand the level of organization and coordination you are up against by the Zionists you have to watch this video by a former Zionist who got fed up. It's long but well worth the watch. 7 parts. Break it down into 1 hr. views.

Sounds lie the ZioYids - and their bought-'n-paid-for bootlickers, the USSA MSM - are having a nervous breakdown
Only question to me is how far the Russians push on carving out a land corridgor to Crimea and if they really try to squeeze Kiev by depriving Ukrainian access to the Black Sea including taking Odessa. If the Russians do the later, then the fears of a really expanded and broader conflict become much more of a reality.
After the Doneck army stands on the border to Moldova, the war will stop and Novorossia will start the negotiations.
Let us lean back and watch, how this evolves. Probably this way for fascists:
http://voicesevas.ru/news/yugo-vostok/4429-razgrom-hunty-pod-starobeshev...
I would be very curious to see how many Russian bots/posters are on this site of late. Seems like a lot especially with this outright proprganda.
You are correct. I think it is a combination between foreign posters and American self-haters (somehow thinking that a great civil, military, economic collapse makes their world in Portland better).
"Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth." Einstein
The irony of your comment is that most ZHers know that what you want to call "self-haters" (which really needs some explaination or it's a worthless throw away line) because it makes you feel good (or that you are doing your job...I'm trying to determine which I think is true at this point...paid bot or not "arby63"?) is anyone using brain cells to critically think rather than just boot licking the government who waves the flag in the geography you happened to be born within.
Get better arguments!!! Is it too much to ask?
Truth lovers, not America haters, (shades of michael jackson!). Government hypocrites who profess humanitarianism and democracy but spread chaos, fear and hate is what we despise.
I've said this before; Russia has been doing a good job of working there way back from a nightmare of communism. The US is doing a good job of working its way towards a fascist dictatorship.
I go to a yahoo story and it's swamped with Uki Nato US bots posting so much insanity that it drives the others off the boards.
Judge the comments on their own merits. There are very few SIMPLY pro-Russian/pro-Putin comments on here (some...I admit...but few) that read like propaganda. The others you want to conflate with them, claiming are Russian bots, have thoughtful analysis that is pretty middle of the road and more about sizing up the situation as it stands and understanding how it got here and where it's heading...more than anything else.
Now the great majority (I actually can't think of one I've seen that wasn't this way) of the comments that are "supporting NATO, the US and Kiev" just call Putin names, say all Russians are dumb or illiterate or evil...and then say Putin is Stalin. Those aren't comments people care for on ZH.
Don't shoot the messengers...get better arguments together and prove them with supporting facts rather than conjecture and some supposed crystal ball you have telling us the horrible future we will have when Russia takes over the world if we don't support going to war for THIS kiev government and we will listen...99% of us here will.
Call us names...and you lose us. Patronize us with lame propaganda memes...and you lose us. Try to use fear to control our thoughts...and you lose us...
and so on and so on and so on.
Well said.
...all these fukkerz who are itching to go to war...I got an idea; YOU and YOUR extended family, front and center....step right up!
Go for it.
The world has gone mad. That much is clear. Nevertheless, Russia is not wholly innocent here. They too have (had) a role to play.
I am surprised how much of a free pass ZHer's are giving them. Many good points but this little push has been going on for more than a year.
The West may distrust its leaders but balance is important.
For those of you who think the Russian military is something unique, think again. It is good. Nothing more.
Russia is not wholly innocent here.
True, but don't forget that this civil war was set in motion by Victoria Nuland and her Neocon buddies (which includes her husband).
Dont be surprised, they are just brainwashed with RT propoganda, they will believe anything that this little fascist Putler tells them.
Oh...I missed you garbage ad hominems here...go to FOX News or MSNBC comment boards if you are just looking to agree with these kinds of lame statements. There's plenty of your ilk there.
We like to think here...SOOOOO SORRRRRY
"Putin is Hitler...and he is small!" RisingSun (basically) says..."WHY WON"T YOU BELIEVE EVERYTHING I SAY HERE?" he bellows.
I can't imagine why. sarc
Once the rebels hold this second port they will truely be in a position of strength and be able to dictate terms to the Kiev Group. I hope that if these rebels are successful they establish themselves as a separate nation and are not absorbed by Russia. Local control is always better than centralized control.
Russia does not need to absorb the Donbass. An independent or semi-independent region friendly to Russia would be OK. This is not like Crimea, because Russia has no naval base to protect around Donetsk.
The NSDC map is garbage, but is used widely by Western media. Back in August 6 Kiev lost a massive area in the southern Luhansk region after they were caught in a rebel encirclement:
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/08/12/ukrainian-troops-retrea...
You can see it mentioned in this article:
http://euromaidanpress.com/2014/07/29/sector-d-the-handful-of-soldiers-s...
They didn't include the territory as lost in their map until August 27, just as they were talking about Russian invasion, as though they were trying to hide it up until then or something:
https://twitter.com/NSDC_ua/status/504569391867252736/photo/1
It's meaningful, because the rebels captured a lot of weapons and heavy equipment in that incident since Kiev's troops just abandoned their positions. Said NSDC map is also the basis of the propaganda that the rebels were losing rapidly and on the cusp of defeat since Western media use the map without questioning it.
The third map above is the most meaningful for me. Look at all those circles outlined in blue; they contain trapped Ukraine army units.
Forgot to add, I've read numerous stories about Ukraine conscripts just dumped into the fray without enough food or ammunition, and when they get trapped, they just throw down their weapons. What's the use, they say.
Even the most recent map from the NSDC is bogus:
https://twitter.com/NSDC_ua/status/507123530149146625/photo/1
Komsomolske is shown as being held by Kiev as of yesterday, but it was lost to the rebels days ago:

Just in case it is news to you,the MH17 fireworks start up again next week and we await Russia's reaction with interest.
http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archives/2014/09/dutch_researchers_to_publi...
Dutch researchers to publish initial MH17 crash report next weekThursday 04 September 2014
The first results of the official Dutch investigation into the crash of Malaysia Airways flight MH17 in Ukraine will be published next Tuesday.
The Dutch safety research council is in charge of the international team of investigators looking into the crash, which is though to have been caused by a missile.
The information in the report will be based on the black boxes, satellite images and evidence from Ukranian air traffic control. The investigation is ongoing.
The aim is to get as complete a picture as possible into what brought down the plane on July 17, killing all 283 people on board. Of them, 198 were Dutch.
Looking forward to see how they are going to try to baffle us with BS this time...
PCR has a guest article by Capt. Peter Haisenko, Lufthansa, ret on MH 017.

Very interesting, first time I have seen it described in that way.
“Brussels and Washington are in a tie for the most wretched hive of scum and villainy.” LOL.
Why exclude London?
Vice News series Russian Roulette has a video of Mariopol up, check dispatch 73. Observe how, over and over, Ostrovsky makes constant reference to "separatists and Russian forces."
Then, at the end of the clip, he implies that only Russians could have shattered the retreating NG column.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoudRmZpesA
But I submit to you this: could US contractors, Polish SF, or even Ukrainian regular forces have attacked the NG troops? And if they had, who would benefit?
I think you see where I'm going with this. I do NOT believe that there are ANY regular, active duty Russian military personnel operating alongside separatists. Russia has too much to lose by doing that, and little to gain.
I also wonder if being a reporter is Ostrovsky's cover for his actual employer. If not and he is who he purports to be, he could be in danger of becoming a False Flag, himself...
All of the above is just opinion, of course.
If the Nato only has the above map to go by - I'm talking about the first one - no wonder they're confused. Someone should tell them their "intelligence" is either lying or in serious need of better equipement.
And then on a darker note, quote "Rasmussen: “We will adopt a substantial package for Georgia, a package that will bring Georgia closer to NATO, including a defense-capacity initiative, establishing a training center in Georgia, occasionally also exercises in Georgia”
Do these pro-EU countries realize they are going to be occupied territory?
NATO has all the facts from their surveilance systems. They know exactly what is going on. Now whether they told their leaders the truth is another thing!
Vladdy-Poot's gonna have some desert soon - chocolate-covered Poroshenko nuggets.
But you gotta make sure you swallow 'em whole, or if you chew them don't breathe thru your nose when you eat'em 'cause the centers are chewy uka-swil, quite nazzy, if you get what I mean.
Other than the MSM, who takes Rasmussen seriously? Wtf did NATO do to Yugoslavia and Serbia? And this ass clown is the same fuck tard who claimed that saddam having WMDs was a fact. "We know." He said. He is a lying warmonger and truly evil. I am a free American and if if an see through his lies, then so can our enemies. And a so called leader who has to lie is a leader I name only as the lie signifies weakness of position, courage, morale, something that necessitates a lie. The truth should be enough in affairs of state.
Not positive about this, but it was stated here previously that the non agression agreement was verbal only and not written.
Russia should just ask to join nato. That would really confuse them.
