What's The Point Of Hiding It Any Longer?
Compare and contrast.
From the Chicago Mercantile Exchange 2012 10-K:
Customer Base
Our customer base includes professional traders, financial institutions, institutional and individual investors, major corporations, manufacturers, producers and governments.
And from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange 2013 10-K:
Customer Base
Our customer base includes professional traders, financial institutions, institutional and individual investors, major corporations, manufacturers, producers, governments and central banks.
And there you have it, but in case anyone is still confused, here is some more:
- "Cluster Of Central Banks" Have Secretly Invested $29 Trillion In The Market
- Bank Of Japan Plunge Protection Team Goes Into Overdrive, Buys Most ETFs Since 2010
- It's Settled: Central Banks Trade S&P500 Futures
At this point why even pretend there is a "market"? The "market", and by "market" we mean stocks - it has long been known that central banks actively trade bonds, FX and commodities - is whatever central banks say it is.
Finally, if central banks are going to be rigging the market as they now conclusively are on a daily basis, perhaps they can disclose ahead of the trading day start to everyone, and not just the primary dealers, what the closing S&P 500 price for any given day is.

Gold is below 1270.
And that's where they want it because they are so much more smarter than we are. Too bad the Chinese and Russians aren't smarter...something could actually be done about this.
The real action is never where everyone is looking.
CPN scarlet. You still dont get it ...WHO do you think is taking possession of physical at these prices.........heheheheeh
I thought you were the sharpest knjfe in the drawer and didn't need a /sarc.
To this day - kilguy38 - the ego has landed.
I was at the old CBOT last month. You can see it in the eyes of the few specialists still hanging around. You can see it in the valet racks filled with colored trading jackets that are no longer used. The market is dead. It has been sick for a long time, but central planning and HFT killed it.
The title: What's The Point Of Hiding It Any Longer?
So, the low IQ people don’t find out.
Hey I resemble that remark!
I can handle things! I'm smart! Not like everybody says... like dumb... I'm smart and I want respect!
dirtscratcher,
So make sure you don't tell them.
Let them remain as stupid as they can possible be so they can still believe in this dogma.
Wake the fuckers up.
The only time anything will change is when enough people start to realize they've been fucked over all their lives and are mad enough to do something about it.
logicalman
Please, I order you to keep quite!
Be a good boy, and pray for Jesus.
Did you talk to God, lately?
Do they still try to teach the efficient market lie in school?
What about the pledge of allegiance to the republic. LOL!
Americans, you guys are precious!
We already knew this about the CBs. Now they're out in the open. Doesn't change anything.
Cheer up, you gloomy Hedgers. The sun will come out tomorrow. You can bet your bottom dollar that there'll be sun.
Yo Tyler,
It's Friday Night
Bring back the Open Thread FFS
We'll show you Yellen's if you show us yours
Religion requires that sort of belief.
Wake the fuckers up.
Present! What would you like me to do?
Got one shot at this crap...so make it good.
Religion requires that sort of belief.
i prefer rainy cloudy days
the sun hurts my eyes
"Americans, you guys are precious!"
We're all precious in our own way:

When cometh the day we lowly ones,
Through quiet reflection, and great dedication
Master the art of karate,
Lo, we shall rise up,
And then we'll make the bugger's eyes water.
Sheep
In poker we say -- don't tap the glass -- it will scare away he fish.
In Indian cricket we say:
Cricket is a pressure game, and when it comes to an India-Pakistan match the pressure is doubled.
That was fucking stupid bro.
No one cares what you think, bigot.
One of the things I'm really bad at is taking orders.
Another thing I'm really bad at is believing in an invisible man in the sky.
So taking orders from an invisible man in the sky wouldn't be your strong point then?
Questions like "Have you prayed to god" is just rehearsed script. Just when we say "Knock on wood" when we want to prevent something bad happening. We say this stuff because our parents said it and their parents said it. It's quite liberating when you get to the point in your life when you realise we are to a large extent, biological automatons.
Just another experiment of the DNA molecule, when you really get down to basics.
All life is equally pointless!
Enjoy the ride, with one caveat. You have to respect the right of others to do the same thing, as long as you, and they, are not hurting another.
If it's all equally pointless and we're just a molecular experiment, then nobody is obligated to respect your right to shit.
That kind of bullshit ideology will put you under the knife and your wife under the sword. That's meat sword, of course. But hey, if she's good looking enough maybe they'll keep her around long enough to make her farts permanently silent. And then just move on, because none of it means anything...
Right. For a logicman you are expressing illogical thinking. If I am just a platt in the universe amoung numorous platts without a reason for anyone's existance except for chance then why would I bother being nice to other people unless it suits my purpose?
Is it not logical to respect one another? Isn't that mutually beneficial? Pretty sure people in Syria, Ukraine, Iraq and any other lawless areas could use a little respect in their repetoire. Just saying.
...as could everyone that is.
Logicalman - if you would take a moment to think your statement through, you'll see the illogic of it.
Being a logical man, I am sure you don't need me to point it out though. ;-)
"Do unto other as you would have them do unto you."
The Golden Rule Bitchez!
Now, about the Supernatural...and that includes YOUR GOD. Finding "real" evidence of the existence of the supernatural world would be an earth shattering event on par with discovering life on other worlds. We have been looking for evidence of the supernatural world since history began. In the last hundred years we have had technology to capture it and in the last 30 years that technology has spread all over the place..
Not a shred of evidence of even the most trifling superantural event has come forth even with cameras everywhere.
Show me proof that the supernatural world exists and I will make a video of me eating my hat and post it on some video siter other than youfuckintube...
If you are unpleasant to others, they will be unpleasant to you, and likely vice versa.
I think you are telling me that you wouldn't be a decent person without the invisible dude threatening you.
Quite an admission.
So what is evil and what is good? It's all just primordial soup, and the bankstas have just evolved further ahead than our sorry asses. Is that what you believe? I believe in human morality - which is the result of intelligent design - meaning we have a moral duty between right and wrong - as do the immoral bankstas. Live accordingly. In your case that may mean to slink back down into the primordial soup - as you clearly don't believe anyone has a say in these matters as we're all simply physical creatures. Don!'t get me started on how this all started, nor the what eternity is all about.
Look man,
People are going to pretend 'till the end.
They wanna think they are doing well right up until the plane smacks into the mountainside and have it over with quickly.
No worries, no unnecessary fear or discomfort.
If you wake them, your the one who's gonna suffer.
These are completely brainwashed moron/babies and you can't imagine how badly behaved they are when not hypno-tranced out on TV 'n shit.
My apologies. I thought you were talking about the worthless POS running the country, corporations, and financial system. My bad.
It's OK....you're fine.
I don't think even the most rabid prepper is looking forward to the worst case scenario.
There are a lot of things in the world that make me mad as fuck, and I try to interact with the world on my own terms as much as practically possible, but something I really appreciate is being able to turn on the tap and have something resembling clean water come out of it, hot and cold.
We need change, not catastrophe.
We certainly do have it good right now, all things being equal.
Hope and Change baby......Hope and Change.
Should be kickin it....right about now.
I am not advocating catastrophe (or any other device/method) as THE mechanism which drives change.
Change is needed and is coming. It can't be held back much longer now.
The system is blowing apart at its seams and structurally failing at the same time.
You sound like you know it will be at the very minimum; Most unpleasant.
The convergence of many different issues/problems/risks/threats/diseases is nearing critical mass.
So many of the singular events classify as high prob / high consequence...
When you take them in aggregate and look at the risk profile increases for the average US Male over the last 20 years, it's breathtaking.
I'm not rooting for catastrophe, but it looks like that is what you are gonna get.
Despite all the thievery, wars, taxes, inflation , and anything else that .gov can dish out, life , fed, clothed and sheltered by markets continues. It is the market that provides for whatever human needs are met, even in a collapsed Zimbabway., and a bombed out Hiroshima.
I got a taste of how absolutely amazing the changes are by taking my first ride on Lyft.
Less than two minutes from tapping the app to having a car pull up calling my name.I have been in City Hall when the cabbies come in to moan. Even though I am blind, I could feel the supervisors squirm.
The service is too much better and there are too many voter customers to stop it now. Medallion cabs , with all the BS they come with are walking dead, just like the buggy makers a century earlier.
Market trumps politics again.
Relax, enjoy the ride, and know that if you have your attitude right , nothing can get in there.
If you want a ride through Lyft at 4:00 am, can you be assured that someone will come for you?
Some of them actually attend live athletic events. So there's that.
Sorry, Dancin with Stars on
Fredo, you're my older brother, and I love you. But don't ever take sides with anyone against the Family again. Ever.
I get what you mean there..
..and now this shit...
http://www.business-standard.com/article/news-ani/400-asteroid-impacts-m...
It's all making sense now if this is true. If the big boys are in the know, all of this extraction of wealth and getting things while the gettins good is explainable
Sad, isn't it? Exchanges used to be the answer to this sort of mess. If every trade is subject to margin requirements, position limits, etc. whole layers of problems go away, and so do mountains of leverage.
Too late now, but good to remember for the morning after.
Listen now. There use to be exchanges that allowed real bonafide hedgers and real speculator meet.
Now it's Algo-robots, central banks and suckers.
You seem like one of those 800 GMAT achievers that have no social skills.
Bots r like that sometimes...
Just sayin...
What is "GMAT", if you refer to my weight I'm roughly 87 kilo's so your 800 is way off unless it was a typo and you meant 80, in that case you are close, I guess.
I have social skill, maybe we could take a trip to the mall together and you can observe me during one of your fucking ridiculous 'merican activities? no? Let's go my new friend! We can eat at the GMO food court, American Style! #1
That was the Feds job right, the death wish, which can not be denighed. The Fed, always wrong, but never in doubt.
I like your avatar cuz I like pumpkins, but "denighed"??
Look down at your keyboard. Yes, go ahead and look DOWN.
See the letter 'G' right next to the letter 'H'?
Pumpkins are cool because they are big and fat when they ripen (and their fingers are as well). He meant 'deniged', or 'denihed', surely?
It's a matter of 'pattern recognition' you know (spelling, that is). If one was to use the letters 'g' and 'h' in the word, it should have been 'denieghd' (the 'g' and the 'h' are silent). I don't even know why the English language allows the use of these letters put together. They kind of sound like a person trying to clear phlem from his throat, when prounounced together (and perhaps that is their only purpose together).
'NEIGHBOR'. It should be spelled 'nayber' (as pronounced), but the 'gh' is added to soften the intonation a little and indicate an 'a' sound in usage as well as cause the accent to be on the first syllable and take the power of the second syllable's vowel down in pronunciation (in which case, it could have been spelled 'nayeber', except that the enunciation might be mistakenly made on either syllable or both). Pun'kin knows the grammatical 'rules', but didn't check the pattern. At first, I thought he typed 'de-knighted' (mis-spelled). Of course, the word 'knight' breaks the 'A'hole rule in using 'GH'...
What do they call those trolls who rag on people for mis-spelled words; again; instead of discussing the issues they state? I seem to have gone far past that point of caring about the 'ebonics' versus 'phonics' versus 'King's English' over the past few years on the alternets.
CUZ...? WTF is THIS?
"denied". The 'g' and 'h' are silent because they are absent.
In Baltimore the suburb spoken as Hunt Valley is known for wealthy madams. The C is silent.
Just as a point of order, the guys on the floor of the CBOT are not "specialists". That is what you call the guys on the floor at a stock exchange like NYSE. The guys on the floor of the CBOT are one of 3 things: brokers, floor traders (speculators or scalpers) or some kind of clerk. The difference is that "specialists" had a duty to make an orderly market in exchange for which they literally held the order book and so knew what the order stack looked like, very useful information. CBOT guys have neither the book nor any obligation to make an orderly market in exchange for that knowledge.
And what killed that was really the rise of computerized trading, whether it is involved in HFT or not. Central planning, and greenspan's policy, now institutionalized, to "help" stock prices as a matter of "policy" has now severly impinged on even the computerized markets and has made the stock market (NYSE and NASDAQ, not CBOT) a farce.
I do miss the hustle and bustle of the pit, and the colored jackets, a couple of which I have hanging in my closet here at home.
Hiding it like Jame Gumb.
It puts the lotion on it's skin or it gets the hose again.
That scans alot better if you leave it "or else it gets the hose again".
world health orgaization. damn, why didn't i think of that.
Life is lived in the shadows cast by the spotlight.
-Me
spotlights dont cast shadows there canga. You or a deer could cast a shadow if you have a spotlight behind you. But a spotlight couldnt. Unless another spotlight was shining on that spotlight and then it would cast a shadow. And you could live behind that I guess. But you would have to be pretty small and not have much room to move around without the spotlight shining on you.
I AM NOT A PHILOSOPHIGIZER NOR AM I AN ENGLIT MAJOR! Ok, how about the shadow created by or caused by?
sure, but what is the object that you lurk behind? A fat banker? cause it would stink and that would not be wise.
A deer caught in the headlights would cast a shadow... just before it got run over.
But the diver wouldn't see it - the shadow, that is.
Ahh, if Jack Handy were still alive...
Sorry.
I went off on an 'internet tangent', looking for videos of 'Jack handy' (your comment reminded me of the second-gen SNL people that I had tried to enjoy, in between the obvious slide in to propagandistic schillism).
He was, actually, fairly ridiculous; now that I look back and review his stuff.
In the interim, several links came up on the video search. One of them was the famous/infamous interview by the late David Frost with Benazir Bhutto (this is NO BULLSHIT).
She was actually quite attractive (in my opinion).
Ahh, if Benazir Bhutto was alive...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euK87Vr5B4U
"But the diver wouldn't see it - the shadow, that is."
Aaah, but would the driver see it?
Although canga probably meant cast in the manner you interpreted it, a less literal translation of 'spotlight' and 'shadow' would still make the expression interesting. Cast- to bestow, to choose actors, to throw on the ground, to shed or molt, to contrive or devise
Anyway, thanks for the grammar lesion.
There's no business like show business and no theater like The Hedge!
Thank you.

I think that in Quantum Finance, merely looking causes things to change. ;-)
And the Bernanke Uncertainty Principle is upheld by Yellen.
You'll need to incorporate photonics to quantify your statement.
Maybe it's all about amplitudes and time, Like Quantum Electrodynamics.
You just have to stop trying to understand why it's the way it is, just look at the logical consequences and figure out HOW it works.
Problem is that the only people with sufficient knowledge are the ones making the rules and if anyone else was to figure it out, they'd change how it works.
You'd have to be pretty stupid to lose a game where you get to write the rules and change 'em whenever you felt like it.
You'd also be a fool if you figured out how it worked and just told everyone instead of moving yourself into a position for it to work for your own advantage.
No, you'd have to be selfish.
Well, yes, I guess you are right. But then only a fool is selfish.
Kirk wrote, "I think that in Quantum Finance, merely looking causes things to change. ;-)"
You guys are referring to the Heisenberg Uncertainty principle when that which applies is the collapse of the Schrodinger Wave Function???
Ok...It is FRY Day after all.

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that anyone was trying to hide it.
The volume in gold on Netdania was the highest ever recorded yesterday. I'm just saying...
what's up doc ?
I was totally shocked! But then I heard from my friend that Netdania has been backdoored by Goldman Sachs NJ, USA.
So then I said: "Fuck it, I'm out"!
Too bad no one will ever really know just what exactly that volume actually represents in actual?
Are they ounces? 100 ounce bars? Contracts?
It.say its a spot market but, wth?
The Chinese and Russians are out to purge the US in their traditional manner, not just slap the Fed across the face. When gold shoots up it will do so in a time and manner that will expose the fact that they have all the gold, the COMEX is empty and the Fed has leased everything they had.
Including their respect?
Respect??
Non-existant, but then derivitives are based on the same quality of colateral and people believe in them.
So should you then believe in respect.
Respect is a great thing, but it's earned.
Has the Fed earned it?
The FED is the enemy. They are the most criminal of all organizations.
But I do not underestimate them in the least. They have earned my respect as they have been able to screw me over.
There is an old Wall Street admonition. Do not fight the FED. I guess that it has worked so far. It will...until it does not. Hopefully the enemy will be defeated some day soon. But until that day happens I strongly suggest that you give those criminal psychopaths their due respect.
I will even respect them as I lead them up the scaffold so they can meet their fate with the sharpend steel edge of the guillotine blade. It costs nothing to give my last respects at that point in time.
The dollar is like an old gangster in a wheelchair. Why risk being punished when all you have to do...is wait?
"An old G in a wheelchair".
Wow I'm amazed by the pace of the destruction of the American culture.
Maybe a translation will help. In Banaglore lingo - the dollar is like an old central banker shitting in the river two meters upstream from the other old central bankers brushing their teeth in the same river.
HAHAHAHAHAHA! That made me lol.
I'd like to thank the ZHer that posted a link recently to website that showed in graphic detail what you're talking about too. GROSS.
Yea, haha. American #1'er. You are so superior to all. So smart and sexy. Living the good life, or so you've been told.
Chakde!

Tell me again why China and Russia would act any different than the US FED? Russia am not sure but China has huge printed money debt.
Why would they both not want to play the same reindeer games as da FED?
I think that they are both gathering Gold to become "reputable" when the US tries to kick the can into the SDR.
The BRICS have enough to suck up all the gold contracts and demand delivery. It will reveal the emperor has no clothes. It would be a K-booom moment.
Nixon already did it so they won't have to.
Could you imagine what would have happened to Nixon had he tried the crap Obama is doing?
won't happen. they manufacture, export way more than they consume theirselves. why killing they own export market, this is a non sense.
Because manufactured products and fiat currencies have no value.
Physical Assets (oil, coal, and so on) are the real value.
Manufactured products have no value? Please explain.
How much actual crude oil do you keep on hand? How many tons of coal?
One more question: Why is a manufactured product not a physical asset?
I ask, because I do not know the ways of the beings on your planet, and I find your reality curious and intriguing.
The White house is a manufactured item.
It has no value? Oh brother!
Well on second thought, look who lives there...
Well, now you're talking about manufactured bullshit then.
McCormick No. 9
Because our way of life has already peaked; and the collapse is taking shape.
The reason that we haven’t felt the collapse, it’s because it has been delayed by credit-money (such as student loans to keep teachers employed) and subsidies (QE, government deficits, TARP, and so on).
The real problem is that:
The people that know, knows that there are NO solutions (such as central bankers, government and military officials). But they have to keep lying.
The people with an IQ of 125 are about to find out (such as many readers at Zero Hedge) and most are unprepared.
The total collapse will happen when the 100 IQ average people find it out. Then, it’s too late.
We will be entering the shortages and rationing.
So my 6th grade education aint gonna cut it ur tellin me.
negative rates,
It's not education. It's your ability to understand. And to ‘Get Curious’ about people that are already preparing.
Education and religion are nonsense. These institutions are not prepared to address these issues.
Actually, if you listen to them, you will be unprepared.
Escrava - I hope nobody listens to that stupid shit you just said.
actually he could be right...
When will the IQ 85 folks find out so I can anticipate my realization date, and of course have 3 tissues ready to 'clean up'...
>>>The total collapse will happen when the 100 IQ average people find it out. Then, it’s too late.
Fortunately my IQ is well north of 150, so I'm all loaded up with junior mining stocks.
Fiat, worthless, yes.
On the other hand, the only reason oil, coal and so on have value is because they make it possible to MANUFACTURE.
I think you missed something.
logicalman,
C'mon!
I am talking survival, because there won't be enough.
The more interesting question is how many people is there enough for.
Gives you a big clue as to the long term outcome, regarding the world's population.
That's the real survival question.
well my manufactured Rolex is badass!
you are talking about war time. not every country strattegizes exclusively for war when they can mututally inclusively strategize for selling manufactured products and exporting them as well . war and peace are not mutually exclusive!
The COMEX futures fine print allows settlement to be in cash if Metal is not available. aka "The Hunt Brahs" loophole.
A. Joseph Cohen is.........BULLISH
AJC has been BULLISH since 2008 bitcheZ. That's one wealthy Goldmanite.
and UGLIER than an Ape's Ass. Bulltard moronic tramp!
Weren't these the same fuckers that made Steve Guttenburg a star?
"Gold is below 1270."
As I've said before, boys & girls, the real action can be detected via the SPREAD in bullion prices, and its steady increase. That's the real "Canary in the Coalmine": The bigger the spread, the higher its pitch and urgency. Until it keels over, and becomes an ex-Canary.
Right
Asked $2500
Bid $1271
Oh yeah....pretty big spread there amigo.
As of right now you're locked in....and we're gonna hold you to it.
Why even pay attention to the spot price, I gave up looking a long time ago. It the end it wont matter, what will matter is who holds the most paper and who holds the most physical. I will take the latter
CME is used for Treasuries and ForEx, you're gonna have to do better than that.
They are smarter. Why would they want gold prices higher when they are still buying?
If I were in Abe's job, I'd be buying everything including toasters and sham wows.
If some fool will accept the yen, just like it's money, why not?
Fukushima, the gift that just keeps giving.
Damn.... I hadn't thought of the ShamWows.
Good catch.
Bought a golf book for my inlaws today. You'll like the title: How to Line Up Your Fourth Put.
Also has useful chapters on Getting More Distance from your shanks, and Where to Buy golf pants with drop pockets.
Maybe we should take up a collection and buy a copy for Bath House.
Better laminate each page so they won't stick together...
Oh, but they will.
Damn.... I hadn't thought of the ShamWows.
You're gonna love our nuts.
CME got it right in 2012 ... central banks and their governments are as one .
yeah, ... where is the story?
who cares what some pissant central bank in timbuktu does ... does not mean Federal Reserve involved
$29T isn't coming from a pissant bank in timbuktu...
Did you bother to read the link?
the $29 trillion coming from 400 PUBLIC SECTOR INSTITUTIONS across 162 countries... which include central banks ... but lists China's SAFE as largest holder ... no break down (except for Danish central bank holding a whopping $500 MILLION EURO in equities ... big whoop)
No doubt the bulk is held by Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWF) and NOT central banks.
Swaps are a thing. Like in '08/'09 when suddenly the Fed is swapping right and left so the other CBs can pump laundered USD into the system.
This is why Japan is going to lose access to toilet paper, and so will everyone else. This is a massive misallocation of resources. Everyone thinks wealth is paper and central bank printing helps them collect wealth. The entire global economy is dedicated to paper. Then suddenly they realize no one is making any friggen toilet paper, and the people that have it won't give it up for printed paper money. The first thing I do when I get extra government paper is get rid of it. Anyone can see this mania is already ending badly.
And the Yen is a failed currency right now. If no one has any economic incentive to sell you toilet paper for your currency, take the hint.
Exactly.
Just keep your nickles in a big Poland spring bottle.
Listen Seasmoke. Kyle bought millions worth of nickles and stored them in a gun safe located in a barn on his Texas ranch...
Nickle hedges should not be stored in plastic!
Yep, although I'd argue it isn't going to be the producers of toilet paper that are the first to stop accepting paper credit, but the analogy is spot on.
I just got back from a trip to the Midwest. Driving south from O'Hare to Chambana, we saw two horses, no pigs, no cattle, not even a damn chicken coop. Just GMO corn and beans, mile after mile. No depth of field, no diversity of crops.
We are living in interesting times.
