Why is it that we so revile those who speak truth? Do they reveal something of the human animal that it doesn't want to see, or is it something else?
Who is that "we?"
Uncle Toms have clear psychological reasons to be the way they are. The foundation of slavery was "do what you are told, or be tortured and murdered," in real situationa where that WAS what would happen. To reveal more of the radical truth about the biggest bullies' bullshit may no longer risk physical consequences, but it still risks severe consequences to one's employment career. We are inside of situation where, for generation after generation, agreeing with the bullies' bullshit was rewarded, while not agreeing was punished.
Neolithic civilization was generally farming, with human farming, or slavery, being the core of that system, which has been developing for about 10,000 years, becoming more sophisticated and scientific during that time. North Americans in particular are the victims of the best brainwashing that money could buy, which designed and operated the public school systems and mass media. The biggest bullies dominate access to all resources. Therefore, they can control access to resources by testing for whether people agree with lies.
The foundation of the whole social system was deceits backed by destruction for thousands of years through the history of warfare, that sequed into enforced financial frauds for the past few Centuries. People are born into a social situation where their personal success will be based on cooperating with the biggest bullies, and agreeing with their bullshit, while the opposite will happen if they do not. We have been living in times of universal deceit, where stating the truth was a revolutionary act, which was practically guaranteed to not work, but rather backfire. The established systems of carrots and sticks reward people who agree with bullshit, while punishing people who do not agree. Nobody can hold a job as a teacher, or within the mass media, unless they agree to go along with the deeply entrenched systems of lies and hypocrisy. Their careers are those of slaves, surviving in slave societies. Those are the people who "revile those who speak truth."
Of course, I recognize from your previous posts, acetinker that you generally despise efforts to more intelligently understand that situation. But nevertheless, that is appraoch that I would take to answer your question about why the majority of the Zombie Sheeple do not want to look at the truth about the wolves in sheep's clothing that are controlling their lives, to fleece them to exhaustion, and set them up to be slaughtered.
I don't despise anyone, or anything, RM. I despise ideology. That's why I give you crap. Ideology isn't real, it's either something you were taught, or something you devised in your own head, but it has no relationship with reality.
You are correct to point out that lies and deceit have, at the present time triumphed over forthrightness and honesty. However, you are very wrong if you assume that the pendulum will continue to swing in only one direction.
You have correctly identified the controlling meme of the current situation. What do you want? A rubber jelly bean?
The pendulum has already started swinging back toward the center, otherwise why would the west be so determined to renew the war with norasia? They think they can deter the swing of the pendulum. They can't.
