Putin To Head Military-Industrial Commission, Sees Nuclear Deterrence As Top Task

Tyler Durden's picture

When we exposed the shift in Russia's military doctrine towards one of nuclear deterrence and pre-emptive strikes, many eschewed it as fantastical thinking of extremists. They were wrong. Speaking at a defense meeting this morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared he is taking charge of Russia's military-industrial complex:

  • *PUTIN SAYS DRAFT NEW MILITARY DOCTRINE SHOULD BE READY BY DEC.
  • *PUTIN CALLS ENSURING NUCLEAR DETERRENT TOP DEFENSE TASK TO 2030

This does not seem like de-escalatory conversation as NATO continues to push - to justify its existence - and Putin now prepares an increasingly Cold-War-esque response threat (following an overnight nuclear missile test).

As Reuters reports,

President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Wednesday taking direct charge of a commission that oversees Russia's defense industry as Moscow tries to reduce reliance on Western equipment following sanctions over the Ukraine crisis.

He also said NATO was using rhetoric over the conflict in Ukraine to "resuscitate itself" and that Russia had warned repeatedly that it would have to respond to such moves.

And overnight, RIA reports a successful Russian Nuclear Missile test:

  • *RUSSIA SUCCESSFULLY TESTED BULAVA MISSILE, RIA SAYS
  • *RUSSIA SAYS BULAVA MISSILE TEST FIRED FROM SUBMARINE: RIA

Russia’s Vladimir Monomakh nuclear submarine launched Bulava missile from White Sea to shooting range in Kamchatka, state-run RIA Novosti reports, citing Defense Ministry’s spokesman, Igor Konashenkov.

Defense Ministry earlier said 2 Bulava tests planned for 2014, in Sept. and Nov.: RIA

He added:

  • *PUTIN SAYS UKRAINE CRISIS BEING USED TO REVIVE NATO
  • *PUTIN SAYS U.S. EXIT FROM MISSILE-DEFENSE TREATY CREATES THREAT
  • *PUTIN ORDERS 2016-2030 DEFENSE DEVELOPMENT BUDGET BY END OF OCT

And who will be in charge of all this...

  • *PUTIN SAYS HE'LL HEAD RUSSIAN MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

As RIA reports,

"Decree on the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation, it is subordinated to the president directly. We discussed this issue with the government, the Prime Minister, and decided that it would be more effective than her work is built keeping in mind the fact that it will deal with a large power issues now import ", - Putin said at the meeting.

He added that the deputy was appointed vice-premier Rogozin, executive secretary - deputy defense minister Borisov.

"We hope that the new status of the commission, as well as its broad powers allow better coordinate cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and the other departments and defense enterprises, to solve all questions on the organization of the state defense order execution", - Putin said.

No surprise there!

And then there's this...

  • *RUSSIA, IRAN TO RESUME TALKS ON CIVILIAN NUCLEAR PROJECTS SOON

Putin gears up the nukes, while the NWO pushes on. Putin had a front row seat to watch the NWO bring ruin to his country, and will no doubt nuke Europe before he lets it happen again.

Unlike NWO puppet leader toadies in the West, Putin actually loves his country.

US government is busy realigning the Middle East and Ukraine for the NWO. The fly in the ointment is Russia, China. Both now sick to death of US hegemonic aspirations in their respective back yards. I think it entirely possible we are on the verge of nuclear Armageddon. Who would have thought the US would be the Great Satan that would take us in to a mass extinction.

A country we once all looked up to. Now despised by all. The US government is truly evil infiltrated at every level by Israeli Zionists.

Putin isn't flexing his nuclear muscle because he's worried about the West.  Putin is scared of China.  China looks with great envy at the natural riches of Russia's Far East and Siberia.  Chinas also has claims on many of thos areas going back a thousands years.  China is also expanding its "reputed" territories in the South China Sea and borders with Nepal and India.

These types of announcements make Putin look weak.  The world recognizes that Russia has nuclear weapons, and systems to deliver those weapons.  It was assumed those systems worked well as Russian sources told us so many times.

That being said, why is this test needed?  Were there problems with the Russian missles that needed to be worked out?  Maybe their vaunted rocket engines were not performing up to snuff?

...but for other people to see, right?

That's my point.  That is the reason Putin ordered this test.  He feels he is not being taken seriously.  He thinks the way to win hearts and minds is to scare people.

Putin has no chance...

None whatsoever.  China is given to task of rounding up Putin et al.   When all is said and done, the world will turn a blind eye to Chinese movements into Mongolia and Eastern Russian markets.

Putin et al will be upset but there is very little they can do other than use a nuclear bomb on China.  That is not the way to make friends.

Not true. Cities tend to be important targets for population and transportation reasons. Being "soft" targets most will be subject to airburst - less fallout, but wider area of effect.

You know what?  Fuck it.  Just declare the START treaties fucking dead and agree to an above ground test once every decade or two with a thermonuclear device that uses a lead tamper (less fallout,) where all of the world leaders are invited to watch the test.  The big secret with nuclear weapons is not how to build them, but that they work, and that cat is out of the bag.  People need to be reminded what they are and what they do, because according to everybody that I've talked to who has personally witnessed one go of, you cannot comprehend the power without personally experiencing it yourself.

Anybody who thinks that an invasion of Russia itself is a good idea is dreaming while on 'shrooms period.  Even if we could pull it off and win without a nuclear war, it would be a phyrric victory.  Kicking Russia's ass in a toe-to-toe naval battle in the middle of the Atlantic is one thing.   Resisting a Russian invasion of your sovereign territory is similar to that.  Invading Russia is quite another.  The Nazis never even got to the point where the USSR had to fall back on Siberia, and those crazy Ruskies will fall back onto Siberia if pushed far enough.

Here is my post again if you don't have time to watch the video. The USA has 18 nuclear subs, 14 of them each containing 24 Trident I and Trident II missiles. Each Trident contains 6-8 independently targeted nuclear missiles with a yield of 475 kilo-tonnes. The other 4 subs are armed with 154 cruise missiles which can be nuclear armed. These 400 odd nuclear missiles are about half the USA's nuclear arms. And I calculated the yield at 4 trillion lbs of TNT.

If it wasn't for Russia's nuclear deterrent NATO would have already been Bom-Bing Russia by now.

NATO loves to bomb states that can't fight back much.

So Putin's strategy is to buy time (until about 2030) for Russia to strengthen and sophisticate its conventional forces w/o breaking the budget and repeating the Soviet collapse. And nukes are the cheap and easy way to buy that time.

So in parallel with the short-term nukes strategy, Russia will beef up its conventional military, and will be 'tight' all the way around by 2030 or sooner. In the meantime, if NATO gets a boner lasting more than 4 hours and decides to dick around with Russia militarily, it will pay a very dear price.

Unless they have this: http://worldmilitaryweapons.blogspot.co.uk/2011/04/russia-has-amazing-de... then nukes look like firecrackers compared to this stuff ;)

Russia must have been sleeping - from the article:

"Moscow tries to reduce reliance on Western equipment following sanctions over the Ukraine crisis."

With all the moves the US has made in the middle east for many years how could Russia let itself be so unprepared?

SWIFT, one main gas customer block (no pipeline to China), western pc's and operating software, and so forth

When the west moved in the middle east Russia should have understood the need to ramp up their nuclear threat.

Maybe I am just missing it but has there been even one effective proxy war initiated in the background by Russia and aimed at the US/NATO's interests withing the last 15 yrs.  Russia is just dodging, ducking and juking - when does Russia do something that lands, hits and stings right now.  I know these plans for future effects by slowly moving off the dollar but the BRICS types other than China and Russia can be disrupted easily.  When does Russia land an offensive blow, with effect, and thus take some control of the process.

Seems Russia has been playing chess with itself while Iraq, Libya, Syria and even some eastern block countries have been dismantled.  Surprise, now they are right at Russia's door - and you tell me Russia has not prepared?  That is not chess, that is drinking and bs'ing while the enemy builds fortifications closer and closer (after killing those who once were your friends).

I guarantee you the US is not abiding by any nuclear, biological, enviromental, geoclimate warfare treaty and has not been.  Will Russia be just another dieing country crying foul about how the US lied did not play by the rules?

Just guessing here but It is very possible that Ju-Jitsu is a better explanation than chess. the opponent's stregnth and momentum can be leveraged to your advantage. Putin holds various belts and has made some pretty god videos.

There is nothing NEW in this President Putin strategy. It is AT LEAST 15 years old. It took the Russians this long to overcome the demanding technical requirements of the new ICBM and SLBM missiles.

They are also having problems with their new SSBN submarines.

They don't have the HIGH-QUALITY workforce that they use to have in the old USSR.

What is new is the bombastic NK-sounding rhetoric?

The risk as I see it in Putin publicly announcing a "pre-emptive nuke use policy" is that it might push another nuke power state into using them against Russia in an attempt to prevent Putin from using them first, pre-emptively.

This can only mean one thing:

A pre-emptive nuke attack by both sides to pre-empt the other side from using nukes to start a world war.

Can't we just seceed from Washington D.C.?

We need a military and to form a real government since ours was taken over by Goldman Sachs and the CIA. We should be allowed to have a government according to the UN.

How is this?

Is Putin putting Russia on a Wartime Economy?

Or is it just SDI; Ruski style?

vlad understands: a country can have 3T people, largest geography, most prosperous economy and robust nuke program, BUT, if you can't pull the trigger you're done.
