Obama's Broad Coalition Cracks - UK, Germany Won't Support Airstrikes In Syria

Tyler Durden's picture

Well that didn't take long. After espousing his strategy last night of leading a broad coalition against ISIS, it appears President Obama's "allies" are backing away from the plan. As The WSJ reports, Germany and the U.K. on Thursday ruled out carrying out air strikes on Islamic State militants in Syria. It appears the Europeans, realizing the ire that these actions will likely cause to Putin, are stepping back - "We haven't been asked, nor will we do it," German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier told reporters and his U.K. counterpart Philip Hammond explicitly ruled out air strikes in Syria, after the U.K. parliament struck down such a move last year. So that leaves the French?

As The WSJ reports,

Germany and the U.K. on Thursday ruled out carrying out air strikes on Islamic State militants in Syria, a day after President Barack Obama authorized the start of U.S. air strikes there.

"We haven't been asked, nor will we do it," German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier told reporters when asked about German participation in air strikes against the Islamic State, known as ISIL or ISIS, in light of Mr. Obama's speech.

"We need to be honest with ourselves in the current situation, we don't yet have a final, blanket strategy which guarantees that we'll be successful against ISIS and similar groups," the German minister said in Berlin.

His U.K. counterpart Philip Hammond explicitly ruled out air strikes in Syria, after the U.K. parliament struck down such a move last year.

If you like your new strategy, you can keep it... to yourself

Look at whats going on of late, there has been incidents involving black people and racism brewing. It started with the Ferguson shooting incident (which has I guess been swept under the rug now). Then you have the racial comments made by Sterling and Levenson, both billionaire Jews who own NBA teams, then you have the African people being 'unofficially being tested' with the Ebola virus that its making people everywhere wary of standing next to a black person anywhere.. AND the recent Ray Rice debacle showing how a midget black guy can go hysterical if you tick them off.

Maybe the message being depicted on MSM is to get the people to against the black people right now is to depict that blacks are not the right people to be in charge of this country, and since Obama is black, he should not be able to lead America anymore ...hence he is forced to resign (like what ekm said). Which could be the 'BLACK swan' event we are all waiting for.

btw, I have nothing against the blacks, I am just pointing these facts out on why everything is happening all at once...it cant be a coincidence.

she is not an Iranian... like Obama, her persona is a carefully crafted fiction:

"Jarrett was born in Shiraz, Iran, to African American parents James E. Bowman and Barbara Taylor Bowman. One of her maternal great-grandfathers, Robert Robinson Taylor, was an architect who is sometimes cited as the first accredited African-American architect. Her father, a pathologist and geneticist, ran a hospital for children in Shiraz in 1956, as part of a program where American physicians and agricultural experts sought to help communitize developing countries' health and farming efforts. When she was five, the family moved to London for one year, later moving to Chicago in 1963.[3] In 1966, her mother was one of four child advocates that created the Erikson Institute. The Institute was established to provide collective knowledge in child development for teachers and other professionals working with young children.[4]

As a child, Jarrett spoke Persian and French.[5] One of her great-grandfathers was Jewish.[6]

Ongoing US and US-sponsored terrorism in the Middle East has been the policy tool that has kept the oil flowing to the US for the past four decades.  Bombing Syria is just the next domino in the progression.  What would happen if Saudi Arabia or OPEC stopped shipping oil to the good ol' US of A?  Well the last time it happen the US still had plenty of it's own oil but the price still quadrupled.  What would happen now if oil went to $400 a barrell, or gas to $13 a gallon?

The only way that happens is if the US military realizes that they will no longer be able to beat up, rape and pillage small countries for the banksters.

Putin should export S-300 anti-aircraft systems to all his allies who will not steal the technology (China).   YThe USA at that point is very weak.   Once the Eurasin, SHO, new SWIFT system is in place and the other EurAsian plans and GErmany's defection then it is game over.

The US military is filled with politicians who have been selling out US soldiers since The Civil War.  Military leaders almost always sell their soldiers out.

Germany and UK know that ISIS was made in America. And they know bombing a sovereign country may get them hauled up for war crimes at the Hague:

ISIS: The jihadist movement stamped “Made in America”

The fact remains, however, that the US, the major European powers, and their regional allies all previously lent financial, military and political support to ISIS and similar groups, which have “Made in the USA” stamped all over them. They have, until now, played a significant part in Washington’s efforts to overthrow the regime of President Bashar al-Assad in Syria, as part of a broader effort to gain control of the region’s vast energy resources and transit routes.

For three years, the US, along with the Gulf states and Turkey, poured billions into “opposition” groups, supposedly to unnamed “moderates,” but in reality to Al Qaeda-linked Sunni groups such as al-Nusra and ISIS to spearhead a sectarian war. The US, Turkey and Jordan have operated a base in Jordan where US instructors trained dozens of ISIS members. In an article last year, the New York Times confirmed that the CIA assisted Arab governments and Turkey by airlifting weaponry to these groups in Jordan and Turkey. The Guardian reported last March that British and French instructors were also involved.

let's call a spade a spade. IF the US could be trusted to only target ISIS, then Syria, Iran, Russia, the UK, and Germany would all agree to airstrikes in Syria.

The FACT is that Syria, Iran and Russia do NOT TRUST the US to only attack ISIS, and neither do Germany or the UK.

The US has burned their bridges. After Iraq, Iraq II, Libya, Afghanistan +++ (all based on lies) there are few countries that trust the US, if any.

What an embarrassment of a president....he really must be as dumb as he appears if he announces his 'strategy' to take on our US-created problem in ISIS before he actually checks with those he claims to be in support of it to see if they're really in support of it.  I am seriously LOL over here on this...what a moron!

Second, he's just acting-out to try to boost his ratings in the polls. It's a stupid, transparent attempt.

The French are in (From RT) "The minister added that while Paris is working close with the government in Baghdad, a similar cooperation cannot happened with President Bashar Assad of Syria, “because he has an established link" with IS.

"That is why we will continue to help the moderate Syrian opposition, which is fighting both" the Islamic State and the Assad regime, he said.

It’s not clear what Fabius’ allegation is based on, considering that the Assad government has been battling for months against IS militants, who grew to become the strongest of the armed groups opposing Damascus as they capitalized on the weakness of the Syrian authorities amid the ongoing civil war there.
