As usual, every European snaction (sic) has an equal and opposite Russian reaction. Here is how the Russian Foreign ministry responded to what van Rompuy announced earlier today would be a new round of Russian sanctions, which wil finally be enforced tomorrow. First from the Russian foreign ministry:

This makes acquiring gold overseas through unofficial channels and then selling it at 'official' prices a very lucrative proposition (therefore Indians are already paying 10% to 12% higher than global prices when buying physical/jewellery) and channels money from the pockets of the public to the jeweller/smuggler/Govt because in India the demand for gold is price inelastic.
Whereas, China is acquiring gold for supporting SDR or yuan or bitcoin (or partly all) whatever comes as the next 'trade' currency mechanism. China is the biggest buyer of gold which makes it the biggest bidder and once they bid at exhorbitant prices to reflect reality from Shanghai or HK exchanges, then just like India, as explained above, gold price will rise more than 10% as compared to any other country.

I'll throw splitting into the mix... running a chainsaw all day is pretty gruelling, but swinging a ~20lb maul all day is a better total body workout... plus, having a couple foot diameter chunk of tree trunk split is pretty satisfying. Gets tougher as the day goes on though, as lining up perfect, successive shots on the log is a necessity to getting it split.
I took down 15 ash trees this summer due to the Emerald Ash Borer killing all my trees. (thanks China)

At the present there are only a Russian, an American and a European Astronaut aboard the ISS.
The Soyuz shuttle, operated by Russia, is the only way to get to and return from the ISS.
Russia could announce there will be only one more shuttle sent up to remove all the current astronauts. And there will be no more shuttles until the disagreement between Russia and the EU is settled amicably.
Until that happens, Russia's BFF, China, will have the only operational space station.
