UK's Cameron Warns Scots "No Way Back" As Independence Vote Remains Too Close To Call
With polls and surveys showing a slight bias to a "No" vote for Scottish Independence - but realistically too close to call - it appears UK Prime Minister Cameron has once again flip-flopped his strategy to deal with the northern menace. Initially it was one of scaremongery, warning of Scottish safety in light of global terrorism; then Cameron softened his stance proclaiming how "heartbroken" he will be if "our family was ripped apart." Now, just a day later, according to The Sunday Times, Cameron will unveil his latest push tomorrow that "there will be no way back" if they vote for independence, warning that a split from the U.K. will see the two countries go their separate ways forever, with the vote result a "once-and-for-all decision." Media bias is increasingly evident as the establishment unleashes its last minute full court press promising Scots "can have the best of both worlds." if they back the union...
With polls too close to call (though obviously plenty to chery pick for both sides). Excluding don’t knows, the Yes shares in the 8 different companies/methods are:
- ICM (online) 54%
- Panelbase (online) 49%
- ICM (phone) 49%
- TNS (face to face) 49%
- YouGov (online) 48%
- Opinium (online) 47%
- Survation (online) 47%
- Survation (phone) 46%
As The Sunday Times reports,
In a speech in Scotland tonight Mr Cameron will warn voters that there will be “no way back” if they vote to leave Britain.
Going on the attack, he will abandon his “love-bombing” strategy of the past week and will warn: “If Scotland votes ‘yes’, the UK will split and we will go our separate ways for ever.”
On a trip to Aberdeen — his 10th and last visit to Scotland during the campaign — he will say: “We must be very clear that there’s no going back from this. No rerun. This is a once-and-for-all decision.”
...
In the event of a “no” vote, Mr Cameron has promised Scotland complete control of income tax in a new “devo max” deal.
...
Mr Cameron’s speech in Aberdeen is designed to target those in the northeast of Scotland who once voted Tory and then turned to the SNP but who are now wavering over independence.
A senior Downing Street source said: “There are rock-solid people on both sides who a nuclear bomb would not shift. The people who are undecided seem to think that maybe they could go back. The message will be this is a complete divorce. There will be no rerun. When it’s over, it’s over.”

But media bias continues to rise...

The Royal Doulton China plate wear manufacturer is going tit's up.
How dare you Cameron
Lifts my middle finger....
Uk propaganda: Its soooo bad for the Scots (to vote yes,)....
Translation: it will be very good for Scotland.
The funnist part is that the Yes vote has only risen because people are not happy speaking the truth in public. Fanatical Yes vote people have been getting pretty intimidating with some vandalism and property destruction going on where people put up No placards (out in the rural areas I live in anyway). Just about everyone I know and spoke to this weekend (family visits) makes noises about voting Yes to anyone they don't know and in public but they all intend voting No at the actual ballot where no-one is watching over their shoulder.
Then again, I live near the west coast areas which are traditionally more Unionist so I'd expect to see more No here compared to say Edinburgh.
Having sounded out a largish and wide cross-section of friends and acquaintances in bonny Scotland over a 12 month period i am going out on a limb to predict a 65-35% vote in favor of YES!!!
As a Conservative gambler tempered with patience and always seeking value if Z/H patrons who like a flutter can get on @ 3/1 now, PLEASE DO!
At worst ( even with ALL the skulduggery of the ESTABLISHMENT ) it's a 50/50 coin toss.
Also i cannot envisage a TAMPERING of the VOTE as the Scottish National Party controls the current Machinery ( this could work in their favor in a TWO CLOSE TO CALL- Nudge Nudge Wink Wink Say No More ).
Lastly in the WORST case scenario the RESULTANT RIOTS and SYSTEM BREAKDOWN , ILL WILL and the like will MANIFEST itself should NO mysteriously GAME the DAY.
The downside is if the Yes votes win - I am afraid the Scots will foolishly jump right into the arms of the EU. I hope YES wins and I hope they stay out of the EU.
TPTB want NO. So I hope they say YES. But honestly, when is the last vote that did not go TPTB's way..... by whatever means neccessary.
Maybe made to vote again until they give the 'right' answer, just like the Irish EU vote.
Reminds me of this:

BBC coverage has been absolutely ridiculous. They literally cut a live feed at one point because there was a Yes plackard visible, never mind not covering the Glasgow rally in Buchanan Street where there were Yes supporters as far as the eye could see.

The BBC needs to go. It has to be shut down. This behaviour is absolutely unacceptable from the media in a "democratic" country.
@css1971
No surprise here i hope; it's deliver our gospel unto the great unwashed or perish.
Best send back the licence to BBC H/O informing them NOT to expect a RENEWAL.
'The BBC needs to go. It has to be shut down.'
+1,000, it doesn't even try to hide the fact that it is pure propaganda anymore.
The BBC also hates white people unless they are Jimmy Saville pedophiles or Labour Party PM's. They really hate Jeremy Clarkson except he makes them so much money.
Scotland saying Yes would be better for the Scots if they stay away from the EU. It woul destroy the Milliband Party in England. Hopefully it would help UKIP.
Do those phone polls include mobile phones? Are the Scottish under30 vote for or against?
Wouldn't you think the undecideds will ultimately break for status quo?
Several complex issues surround the idea of Scotland going off on its own. If Scotland wants independence then so be it, but sorting out the political and economic ties with the rest of the UK, may be difficult. Scotland has to be allowed to stand on its own two feet without the rest of the UK financially and economically supporting it. The Euro proves that more than one sovereign country cannot easily use the same currency. Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Italy and Spain have discovered that you cannot have full independence and share a currency.
Another problem is that if the UK Government is to agreeable to a separation, will Wales and Northern Ireland move towards independence? That might encourage similar movements in Catalonia, Belgium, Northern League in Italy, Basques, Cornish, and among the Poles. If the vote is yes it will get very interesting. More on the issues surrounding the pound and an independent Scotland in the article below.

Problem?
The only "problem" is if the Scots decide to jump to the EU. Being independent is the best way but a lot of Scots are welfare queens.
People who vote give legitimacy to the illusion of democracy!
People who don't give legitimacy to those who do.
Why does Cameron think that his gibberings bind future politicians?
