1 In 4 Americans Want Their State To Secede From The US
With all eyes firmly fixed on Europe's secessionist movements (most notably Scotland and Catalan), the growing tensions in America took a back seat for a moment. But, as Reuters reports, a recent poll found one-in-four Americans want their state to secede from The US with men more secessionist than women and the Southwest most aggrieved. By the evidence of the poll data as well as these anecdotal conversations, the sense of aggrievement is comprehensive, bipartisan, somewhat incoherent, but deeply felt.
Europe's secessionist movements have garnered all the attention recently...
But in the US, 'aggrievement' is on the rise...
Secession got more support from Republicans than Democrats, more from right- than left-leaning independents, more from younger than older people, more from lower- than higher-income brackets, more from high school than college grads. But there was a surprising amount of support in every group and region, especially the Rocky Mountain states, the Southwest and the old Confederacy, but also in places like Illinois and Kansas. And of the people who said they identified with the Tea Party, supporters of secession were actually in the majority, with 53 percent.
...
By the evidence of the poll data as well as these anecdotal conversations, the sense of aggrievement is comprehensive, bipartisan, somewhat incoherent, but deeply felt.
This should be more than disconcerting; it’s a situation that could get dangerous. As the Princeton political scientist Mark Beissinger has shown, separatist movements can take hold around contempt for incumbents and the status quo even when protesters have no ideology in common.
The United States hardly seems to be on the verge of fracture, and the small secession movements in a handful of American states today represent a tiny percentage of those polled by Reuters. But any country where 60 million people declare themselves to be sincerely aggrieved — especially one that is fractious by nature — is a country inviting either the sophistry of a demagogue or a serious movement for reform.

"Civil unrest is coming to America sooner than you think. This will ignite old feelings of discontent across both religion and race in America."
...
The promises that you save for the future have collapsed into dust as interest rates have been driven lower making savings utterly worthless. There is no such thing as saving and living off your fixed income. The elderly are being driven back into the work force and the whole ideas that a generation believed in are vanishing before their eyes.
So it is no longer communists and dictators that are the targets. All governments are now the targets and when the economy turns down after 2015.75, the threat of civilization will be pulled apart by the self-interest of politicians clinging to power to the detriment of the people.
* * *
This should be no surprise, as we warned over 2 years ago that rising levels of government debt are a crucial determining factor in chaos and civil unrest...
JPMorgan recently noted this study:
The authors tested to see if results varied with ethnic fragmentation, inflation, penetration of mass media and the quality of government institutions; they did not. Results are also consistent across time, covering interwar and postwar periods.
The independent variable that did result in more unrest: higher levels of government debt in the first place.

Nice Left/Right paradigm faggotry.....
I simply presented the data. Your interpretation of it says more about you than it does about me. I don't subscribe to the red/blue two party false choice.
You sound like one of those tools from FailyKos or HuffPuff who stumble in here from time to time. You'll get bored with the company and leave soon enough. But if you stick around, keep your mouth shut, and your ears open, you might actually learn something.
As James Howard Kunstler warns, we'll all be going medieval soon enough...deglobalisation and city-states coming to a country near you.

Get back to work serfs. Those tresuries aren't going to pay themselves back....
Who cares? This is not so much higher than the 21% of adult Americans who read below a fifth grade level (at last count). Now that is an actual problem.
Indeed, age does not preceed wisdom. And given that most adults are on food stamps, its like we're all back in the cafeteria. In 5th grade
Nobody's going anywhere
We're all tied to the debt and intravenously hooked up to the printer
Interesting but unlikely to happen. If it were ever to have happened, it would have been during the Civil War. If the Confederacy had just cranked right on through, they'd have had Washington after the first battle. That was the closest i think it would ever come as far as an organized push to limit federal power, and it failed biterly. Otherwise, probably more likely the slow disintegration of the nation from within seems more likely. Not saying i'm not for seceding from the Union, just way too much centralized Federal Power and not enough bodies willing to challenge the status quo outright. Cognitive Disidence kicks in.
As far as 2015.75, come on. None of really know when or even if this shitshow will come down in our life time. We just wish it would since we're so fed up, frustrated and oppressed overtly or covertly. Few have the stones to truly stand up in meaningfull way to TPTB that would do it any seroius damage. The first ones will be persecuted, prosecuted or disappeared. They'll essentially have to be what the arabs use- martyrs for their cause. Time will tell i guess.
Would have LOVED to see a racial/ethnic breakdown on such a survey, but the MSM would never permit that.
I know whenever I hear about secession it is always from whites.
Because whites are footing the bill, groaning under the tax burden to support not just immigrants, and YES, Asian immigrants, even though supposedly the richest and fastest growing racial group TAKE .gov $$$. In fact there were 2 Chinese mainlanders in San Francisco in the early 1980s who made GOOD MONEY, they brought in their elderly parents from China also, they signed a document with the feds saying their parents would not get SSI and etc. Well guess what? THEY DID, and a white professor in Oakland California who was married to a Chinese mainlander himself, exposed it and guess what? NOTHING WAS DONE, and this was under Ronald Reagan.
So also supporting with our tax dollars the government that DISCRIMINATES against us that is working to ERADICATE us from the land our forefathers built the greatest nation on earth.
Just as the Afrikaners built a first-class country, look at them today being genocided while the world looks away.
The tribe will NEVER, EVER permit whites to escape.
Read her harrowing story and then realize this is the RULE not the exception. WHITE MEN AND WOMEN WTFU you are TARGETED for extinction and YOU fund your very demise by paying taxes to your EXECUTIONERS, the same ones who BUTCHERED the Czar and his family.
The LITERAL descendants of those BUTCHERS now are Big City Mayors who were White House Chiefs of Staff, they are Senators, Fed Big Shots, Wall Street helmsmen, movie producers, you get the idea? And they RUN our government.

Another tech-worker, Diane Drozdowski, was forced out of her job at American Express in Phoenix, AZ. After her manager used "bully tactics and psychological warfare" to try to get her to quit, resulting in a mental breakdown, she was replaced by two Indian workers based in India. American Express flew these Indian workers to Phoenix and forced her to train them, upon threat of losing her severance pay.
Listen. Indian workers are "WELL" know for being harder workers and having better educations than the Americans. That is why we get the jobs.
No, you get jobs for accepting $1 FRN per day and a bag of stale peanuts. They laugh at you.
Listen. It is true that we offer better value than American workers. We are compensated by-the-hour and are very fastidious in our professional endeavors. Americans get paid $10/hr vs. Indians at $7.25/hr but because of our "FOCUS" on quality it takes us twice as long to perform a good job compared to our sloppy American competitors.
Can you do math my American friend? lol.
I've worked with H1B visa holders from India, educated in India. So far I am unimpressed.
MDB is that you?
+1 LOL - yes I can do math
Many here are skimming, not reading, your comment ;)
I wish you all would stop burning those curry dishes in the microwave at lunchtime. If you're so good at math, why can't you master a digital timer?
Is everything single thing you post about the superiority of White Americans or about their "oppression?"
…supporting with our tax dollars the government that DISCRIMINATES against us that is working to ERADICATE us from the land our forefathers built the greatest nation on earth.
AFP describes the face of racial discrimination against whites (and never mind that Michael Brown punched Officer Darren Wilson so hard, his eye socket was broken or that within days of Brown being shot within a span of 15 minutes three white residents of Hackensack, N.J., were approached by a black man who punched and assaulted them in what’s become known as the “knockout game”):
That’s a Hate Crime
Ralph Weems, a 32 year-old Iraq war veteran, was beaten by a group of 20 black men outside of a West Point, Miss., restaurant on Aug. 23, after he and a friend were warned it wasn’t safe for white people in the wake of the killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. So far, police in Mississippi are not calling the attack a hate crime though it left Weems with severe brain damage.
Why Did Media Ignore Shooting?
By now everyone in the United States knows about the riots, destruction and violence that took place following the highly publicized police shooting of Michael Brown on Aug. 9 in Ferguson, Mo.
But few people outside of Utah are aware of 20-year-old Dillon Taylor, who was shot by police on Aug. 11 in Salt Lake City after a run-in with the law.
According to the Washington Times, there’s a reason “for the discrepancy in media coverage: race.”
While Brown is black and the officer who shot him is white, Taylor is white and the officer who shot him is black.
Dozens of people peacefully protested the shooting of Taylor in Salt Lake City, while in Ferguson, mobs have burned down stores, looted property and fought with police.
They do have a racial brake down of this. You can play around with the filters.

The Republic of Texas lives!
The greater point made in Thursday's 'no thank you vote' was the same point HL Mencken once made..
.."The fact is that the average man's love of liberty is nine-tenths imaginary, exactly like his love of sense, justice and truth.
He is not actually happy when free; he is uncomfortable, a bit alarmed, and intolerably lonely.
Liberty (and I say unfortunately) is not a thing for the great masses of men".
..he audaciously went further to note- .."What the common man longs for in this world, before and above all his other longings, is the simplest and most ignominious sort of peace: the peace of a trusty in a well-managed penitentiary"..
..anyone out there still believe that there is any chance of a successful state secession brewing or any other political bromide likely with a boomer generation and the professional voting class wanting their piece of the gvt. pie action?
The truth is once you develop a taste for heroin, you are a junkie for life, Scotland admitted it, the same could be said for an America who voted in and then four years later based on undeniable failure retained the worst mistake possible and can't wait to repeat ad infinitum ... America has become a nation of gypsy junkies staggering along two years at a time for another hit..
..Education has it's price but ignorance has a cost.
"..Education has it's price but ignorance has a cost."
Yes indeed
it is becoming ever more clear. this is dialectics engineering.
in the 1920's and 30's the dialectic was of 'communism and labor owned government'.
the dialectic now is the 'west' is in decline, when in fact the west is simply being sucked dry by parasite bankers and would recover some decently if only a miracle would destroy all their banks and debt. that will not happen however. not as a result of an 'economic collapse' like 2008. not as a result of ANY POICIES PUSHED BY OFFICIAL BANKSTER OWNED GOVERNMENT.
the reality is the west is a bee hive directed by queens and an over caste that will not simply 'abdicate power'. they understand dialectics. the masses will clamour for 'solutions' when the ONLY solution will never be mentioned---an excision of the bankstergarchy which can only be accomplished by revolution.
what solutions will be offered? religion and alternative statism that can be 'voted on', as if all votes are not rigged. the dialectics are those solutions talked about by the masses that get popular enough to get funded by organized interests. of course this is a chicken or the egg type situation. and existing narratives, ---pushed by long time ideologues out there---sometimes do get fudning as well. larouche communism and david duke neo-natzi's are long standing dialectical narratives that actually are more like a trap. certain ideologues out there do work for the fbi and are used as a honey trap for certain movements. look at all sharpton. he is the martin luther king honey trap. literally, the man works for the fbi and has sold out many many of his own who lined up to follow him.
the dialectics that will 'WIN" are the dialectics that are best funded . if the government begins collapsing under the weight of its own incompetence, there will eventually be a lack fo resources in the fbi and homeleand security to keep up with the rising amount of dissident and angry people who 'need' spying upon. that is the tipping point where the governmetn insiders begin turning more and more upon one another. and the 'dissidents' get more and more funding from people who seek to plunder the united states by pushing their own dialectics and signing up race horse 'leaders' to push their authority.
how did france 'recover' from the french revolution. how did yeltsin get control from gorbachev.
if you want to understand history, a key piece to study is IMMIDIATELY AFTER the collapse of an existing system. how does the system put itself back together?
in a 'failed state'. the putting together process looks a lot more like true anarchical chaos. in any normal state, you get what you see in europe and russia and other places. it looks nearly anarchical, but it's more like controlled anarchy. in a 'conquered state' you get massive organized purges by the invading government that is setting up a new government.
i am using anarchy in the loose sense to describe what occurs when a prevailing order breaks down.
i believe the bankstergarchs actually wanted scotland to declare independence and were most likely funding the lead politician in scotland pushing independence. if you listened to him he was just another 'tell them what they want to hear' socialist free shit asshole lying politician. the perfect kind of candidate to fund.
i beleive the bankstergarchs lost out to the plethora of industrial and land owning interests , such as the crown. the queens and overcast don't always want the same thing. change is inevitable. and the queens and overcasts constantly fight to determine which outcomes will be chosen as the path forward for controlling the livestock sheeplecast.
thus---things are complicated and it is VERY difficult to understand which organized interests are trying to pull off what.....
in califonia when you here peter thiel palantir inQtel openly calling for the balkanization of san francisco as a state; here is an obvious case of sheeple ass libertarians being given an 'exit' strategy to rally around as silicon valley begins its massive layoff and shuttering of startups ; a bubble which actuall made the 2000 bubble look tame.
Nice overview, Thank you"
Shades of WWI and WWII, it looks like the banksters are cranking up their George Creel propaganda machine -- "not propaganda as the Germans defined it, but propaganda in the true sense of the word, meaning the 'propagation of faith'” -- only this time to propagandize the military to quell secession fever at home.
The New MREs
Laurence M. Vance
Regarding the military’s new Meals Ready-to-Eat (MRE), I was just informed by someone who was given some to eat, comes with “a pack of “Patriot Cookies” instead of animal cookies. Instead of lions and tigers, you get to enjoy a flag cookie. Instead of elephants, you enjoy busts of Uncle Sam. And instead of camels and hippos, the treat is a liberty torch, or the letters US.” This should come as no surprise since the U.S. government is the greatest propaganda machine in the history of the world. Just look at the billboard ads for the Marines: “For Our Nation, For Us All.”

SO THE FUCK WHAT.
25% OF THE POPULACE PICKS THEIR DAMN NOSE TOO.
YOU CAN'T GET MORE THAN 30% OF REGISTERED/ELIGBLE VOTERS TO EVEN VOTE, FOR FUCK'S SAKE.
THIS IS ONE REASON WHY THE BANKER FUCKS AND ELITIST PRICKS HAVE SO MUCH MONEY AND POWER.
THE CUNTS.....
thank you so much for taking over for LongSoupLine....I miss that guy, but you've picked up the angry slack.
Exactly and it was only 7% who strongly support it. Complete garbage poll if you read the generically-worded question.
General rule of polling is that if you have under 20%, it is a fringe idea at best with token support.
Atlas Shrugged
There are not enough of us working to carry anymore free-loader shit!
A secession will never happen. The dole will always rule, just like with the Scots.
You mean the elderly and the military? Agreed.
This is absolute nonsense. Whoever did the polling is disingenuous at best.
If you polled Americans regarding the definition of 'secede', 90% wouldn't get it correct.
Hook Line and Click Bait
When you come home from a hard day at work and view surferboy on tv buying expensive sea food on your dime (foodstamps)- YOU GET PISSED OFF! I think many would understand secede, separate, split, fuck off, bug out, etc
Yeah because people on food stamps at $4/day/person are buying ocean caught salmon at $20+ pound by the case.
Idiotic nonsense like the old welfare queen with a chart full of filet mignions on food stamps.
Homebody says "view surferboy on tv..." there's your first problem. Anything you see on TV is flat out nonsense. And if you are watching it, its probably targeted at you. White tv shows blacks behaving badly, black TV shows whites behaving badly, old TV shows kids behaving badly etc etc etc not that hard to grasp

I hear that the Mexican government won't oppose a repeal of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
It's my goddamned Aztlán too, let them come and take it!
Fucking A! I plan on staying in this general region, and I'm not going to be a Mexican subject. Fuck that narco-state bullshit.
Heh. No need to build a border fence, the greatest hedge in American history is cannabis.
Now every Tom, Dick and Yokel is growing his own and helping to bleed the cartel dry. And all the corrupt money addicts in city councils and other government bodies are exposing themselves as cartel bitches.
The cartel has turned to meth, dope and coke, all of which has identifying tagends in the buffer. Much like the Fast 'n' Furious guns were RFID chipped, or like AN-FÕ explosivês.
There's a soft coup going on, and the freeman is winning, at least in my beloved Valley.
Glad to hear it ;)
Who used those drugs again and maintains a policy that as long as the epidemic and body count stays south of the border we don't give a shit?
Why, the US government, of course!
I remember reading an article several years ago where the US government raised holy hell when Mexico was talking about leagalizing weed and we nixed it. We're not just for prohibition of the stuff within our borders, but other countries as well. Get rid of the war on drugs and you eliminate much of the risk for trafficing in drugs, which will reduce the price. Then the cartels would only have other shit, like human trafficing, to rely on for their high revenues. Human trafficing (not the simple hop across the border for a fee kind, but the indentured servant/slave kind,) is something that enough people can agree that it is really bad to put a stop to it.
South tried it. They failed.
Not a prayer of it succeeding now.
I vote YES to secede but Jerry Brown, Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer have to go too.
Yes to rest of the nation "seceding" california, but only after i move to Texas. :-)
Its arigged up poll. Reword it like this.
How do you feel about DC being exiled while congress is in session? Those numbers would look a bit different.
I am in Minnesota, I have wanted our state out for over 30 years. Lots of reasons I can give. Having to do with economics, income, education, health care and others.
Boundary Waters are called that for a reason, why not join with the UP of Michigan? Set up joint capitals in Ely and Michilimackinac. Wittle away at St Paul, like we wittle away at Denver.
Anyone notice the U.S. map looks eerily similar to a FEMA Region map?
I was wondering why the lines were drawn that way. It didn't seem to be for any particular reason.
This really says only 1 out of 4 see a problem with a federal overnment with unlimited spending power. It will change when the dollar is completely rejected and DC has to...is forced to...act with budgetary restraints.
Probable even more people will be unhappy then but at least they will be paying attention.
Wake up, dude. 50% of the population are happy to have the FedGov spend every last dollar you earn, on them. Women.
For the life of me, I don't know why in the HELL Alaska stays.
The .gov practically turned their entire state into a National Park, and the envirowhackos keep them from using their own resources. They should have left a long time ago, and there would be essentially nothing the federal government could do to stop it. If Alaska were to break free, a good portion of Western Canada might go with it!
Texas is another one that I'm surprised hangs around. They have abundant resources, a large working population, access to the ocean, their own power grid, and virtually everything else they need to make it on their own. The REALLY scary part for .gov would be the fact that if Texas went, a good part of the South, and maybe some South Western, Central, and Mountain states would go with it. I'm sure around the top of their 'to-do' list would be to secure the fuck out of the border with Mexico, and I'm SURE they would get it done too!
End the war on drugs and you'll get rid of the narco-state bullshit that's driving a lot of them up here. Once shit stabilizes, we could go back to the whole local border regions learn to deal with border towns and the people on the other side in their own peaceful way.
The reason is simple - Air blockade, Naval Blockade, and invading Army/Marines are what keep Texas in the fold.
Many in Maine would like to join Canada; they envy the health care system there.
It would be good if there were more little countries and fewer large ones. Worst of all is one world government. With many little governments, it becomes more likely that one or more of them will be fit to live under.
Ms. Jackson if you are nasty...
HOPE. CHANGE. FUCKIT.

Revolt headed toward secession by many states already has begun against The Establishment.
In Texas, Governor Rick Perry challenged public universities to create affordable bachelor’s degrees that cost $10,000 or less, including tuition, fees and books.. Texas A&M is in the process of offering two under-$10,000 4-year degrees, one in business administration, according to talk show host Lars Larson. The agreement is that certain courses must be taken in high school, with attendance first in a junior college, finishing the degrees at Texas A&M.
So far, a handful of universities are offering a full degree for $10,000, most requiring previous college credit from a community college or high school.
Florida governor Rick Scott recently asked his state's public universities to craft $10,000 degrees of their own.
Despite liberal knockdowns by Establishment operatives such as Andy Brown who was chairman of the Travis County Democrats when he labeled Perry's "scheme to serve up $10,000 college degree, 'preposterous,'” states are coming right back and hitting again.
It means that the people of Texas and other states do not want to go along with abortion, with evolution being taught in their schools, with Obama’s Core Curriculum or the demands of the teachers’ unions. They want something different and in many ways it’s leading to secession.
Combining with other movements, it’s a serious revolt against The Establishment by people of all ages.
The Establishment has its economic program, and it’s failing. The Establishment has nothing left to offer; all it can do is sit and wait for the civil unrest that’s coming as Martin Armstrong warns; and they can’t stop it.
Hey red team guy, why dont you hold your breath on that while you wait?
Brilliant.
won't happen unless there is a revolution. Look at Scotland? Doing it the civil way will not work as they rig, manipulate and lie to keep the status quo. You cannot compete with their propaganda machinery.
This is IMHO a very simple straightforward fact. The political frame work, the laws, the election process, the mainstream media control and manipulation as proxies of the banking/monetary system elite make it impossible for any meaningful change. Hence a continued deterioration, unhappiness, grumbling, and grinding down of the middle and lower class...all sound and fury signifying nothing. Day after day, article after article on ZH (which I read), and yet it is the same old thing day after day. The more I read, the more it stays the same.
As long as NFL football games command great interest by sports junkies, most of whom are unfit, lazy, fat slobs on one hand, and the political correctness of the spouse and child abuse by the NFL players by righteous FOX news watchers on the other, then we are indeed a long way from any meaningful change, which will come only through violent revolution...and we is a long way from dat!
Hard times are here .

What's scary about that? That would be good news. Once you see what's happening, you can't forget.
Some might agree the Middle Class is seeking to restore its status, not restore a Republic.
I don't trust former Middle Class climbers because they seem to agree with Empire. I prefer the dyed-in-the-wool libertarians or outright anarchists.
This is probably 10 years from being super main-stream. I would be interested in exact numbers per state. 34% in the southwest, which includes New Mexico. You can be sure support in New Mexico is going to be considerably lower than Arizona, Oklahoma and Texas.
I'm proud to be a Southerner who now lives in Arizona. Long live Dixie. Long live the Southwest. Let's break free from our chains!
I'm proud to be a Souterner also and want to revisit the theories behind the Gadsden Purchase. I think they can remove the states of Virginia from the South, they skew the numbers, too many parasites that still worship Byrd.
I imagine Florida and Virginia greatly skew the Southern states percentage.
If we keep crying wolf , we might get Fenris.

My state, Kentucky, is in the cat-bird seat. We can just seize Ft. Knox and reinstitute a currency fully backed by gold -- a currency that has stood the test of time for millenea. I'm glad the Federal Reserve has decided to store all of its massive gold reserves in my state! I can't wait for seccession to come and for us to be allowed to stroll over to the vault to get a good look at all of that gold. I wonder how much is in there anyway?? Anyway, I'm just thankful the U.S. government and Federal Reserve decided to store it in my state.

You are assuming that the gold is still there. I wouldn't be so sure about that. When was the last time the vaults were opened up to the public so that we can all see that the gold is actually there?
You're going to be shocked when you open the vault and find it's empty!
You're going to be shocked when you open the vault and find that it's empty !
Fucking einsteins, ain'tcha?
Best part is the guy on disability in the Reuters article who supports it. Big shocker. Exactly what the Scottish vote - those who were over 50 voted overwhelmingly to stay because they have benefits or will soon have them. Fuck their kids or grand kids.
New Mexico is on the federal tit in a big way and has a huge benefit of federal spending per capita vs what citizens pay in federal taxes.
There are serious problems in DC but it frustrates me to no end that people aren't involved even locally in politics. Where I live in PA there is a really important 10 year development plan the County Commissioners are involved in right now and attendance at the meetings from citizens is sometimes less than a dozen people. Community had repeatedly tried to advertise these weekly meetings yet people never show. Yet people complain ad hoc about the local govt.
that is a America today - shoveling the lions share of its resources to the elderly and the military and a population that complains to no end but can't even vote once every 4 years.
I'll never vote again, I even bought a radio station in the FL Panhandle and espoused free market, and Constitutional principles. Did no good at all even though the little 1000 watt station was # 1 on Arbitron on our talk shows. We were up against 100,000 watt FM flame throwers, too.
The high schools still teach the Constitution only briefly in history. We were successful in acting as the catalyst to rid the state of the Intangible Tax.
Face it, it's over, start looking for a parachute. "Turn out the lights, the party's over"..... one of my favorites.
Perhaps they’re not complaining about the right issue.
Almost thirty years ago, I became curious about financial conditions of cities and counties. This led to further research, namely the financial statements issued by cities and counties, special districts and state governments. I found that they have amassed surpluses in the trillions. When I studied this for California, I found surpluses (about the year 2000) that divided out to $20,000 for every man, woman and child in the state; you read that right, every man, every woman, every child. Then I factored in numbers included only in footnotes and the dividend ballooned to over $40,000 for every man, woman and child.
These surpluses are in the form of cash and bonds, real estate and stocks, domestic and international; and represent an over collection of taxes. See, ‘Who Owns City Hall?’ and ‘Of Lords and Cattle’.
It all generated several questions, such as, ‘Who owns these surpluses?’ and, ‘When do I get my dividend?’
Great research, Clesthenes.
The AFP a few years back called this budget fraud. According to its special report on the Federal budget, all states and most counties and cities have amassed trillions of dollars in securities and cash that they try to keep secret from the taxpayers who are expected to continue to pay taxes and levies to build up these unused surpluses.
It’s all documented in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports (CAFR), the statement of net worth (not budgets) for all states and most counties and cities.
According to Walter Burien, a former Commodities Trading Advisor who has been exposing CAFR as the biggest financial scandal in U.S. history, going on for more than 55 years starting in 1945 and for all purposes hidden from the taxpayer, these trillions (about $60 trillion in 2000) held by local, state and Federal government were held in investments in real estate, pension funds, insurance companies, liquid investment funds, bond financing accounts and corporate stock portfolios and in America's stock market, and a large percentage of the international stock market.
Burien, who has been blowing the whistle on this gargantuan scam, says, “Americans OWN the majority of America's WEALTH and don't know it.”
“With the profits rolling in from international investments,” says one columnist, “you now know the true motive behind NAFTA and GATT.”
Anthony J. Hargis wrote in the late 90s, based primarily on Burien’s research:
In March 2014 Walter Burien gave this interview on “Black Budget Spending with CAFR”::

“1 in 4”, and the main grievance is government debt.
Well, that’s a plus. It’s refreshing to see that a few Americans are becoming concerned about being cannibalized. Most people know the procedure by the name, “government debt”; the process by which a generation of tax consumers financially cannibalizes following generations of tax payers.
There is enough such debt on the books to cannibalize following generations of Americans to the end of time, based on data, assumptions and formulas taken from Financial Reports of the US Government.
When they realize there’s not a constitutional tax on the books, I imagine that the ratio will be somewhat higher.
You see, for a tax to be constitutional, it must receive the personal consent of those taxed. There is no tax on the books that meets this requirement. Why do I claim this? This was a major complaint of Founders; and it was validated by the Revolution. Did they really mean it? Of course they did; they lived by that requirement from the first English settlement to the establishment of the Constitution. During that time, all “taxes” and all “laws” originated in contracts between assemblies and those who petitioned for redress of grievances. Terms of the contract were sometimes referred to as “laws” and money payments sometimes as “taxes”. And only petitioners were obligated to obey and pay; everyone else was exempt. When redress was completed, both “laws” and “taxes” expired (an intro).
That’s an example of original English/American law. Today we live under Persian law, where petitioners are exempt from taxes and laws while non-petitioners are saddled with both. For example, when munitions makers petition for another war, they get the booty while we get the expenses (taxes).
Another hot point. As noted, government debt acts as a sort of mortgage on the productive labor of following generations. Wait till they learn that they have been sold to Chinese communists in the amount, so far, of $1.27 Trillions (as of 2014 May). And, in order to guarantee collection of this debt, Red Commies organized an ALLIANCE among Mexican and Columbian drug cartels, Chinese Triads, Red Army, several American government agencies (Congress, DoD, DEA, FBI, DoJ, and counting). Don’t take my word for it, this is according to testimony given before a Congressional subcommittee and data collected from the Federal Reserve.
Great explanation, Thank you!

What about living in the redwoods like the Ewoks?
It's wet and cold; everything molds. It gets old in a hurry. (ex.-Mendocino hippy).
Stopped off in Mendocino a few years back - had a beer (or two ;) in a hostelry called Dirty Dicks (if I remember correctly). Geez... the locals were like extras outta Deliverance - complete with snarling canines ;)
Driving back, almost crashed into a redwood that had fallen across the backroad I was on - figured the locals might've been sending a friendly message that they didnt want my type up there!
How many Tea Partiers over 50 would succeed if it meant no or a serious reduction in govt retirement benefits? It would be under 5% I bet.
Same dopes you rant and rave yet yell bloody murder about touching their benefits. Nevermind in the past 10 years they now the full drug coverage through Medicare D with no doughnut hole in their coverage at cost of tens of billions annually.
Well, first of all, I would guess that at least 50% of them just sit around waiting to die, and that they hardly know what’s going on. Of the remaining, I estimate that fully 80% to 90% would be all for secession, if they understood we would guarantee their retirement checks, adjust their payments according to the real inflation rate, and collect the $9-$11 Trillions that went missing from DoD, HUD and SSA.
Your in good company. The Nazis in WWII Germany also felt the useless eaters needed to go so the ones that could still function were sent off to work camps and the others liquidated. Of course their age was usually over 60 but they cared less about their political choices.
As money back then was chained to gold there was at least a little value to it but today it's worthless and apparently you feel lives are even more worthless. About the only good thing from this is aging is for everyone, no way out of it. You will go over 50 and become as useless as those you accuse today. By your own thesis you will become one of those you despise and I wish I were here to read some young buckeroo tell you your a useless eater.
It never ceases to amaze me how government can give trillions to banksters, spend trillions on the tools of war, spend more trillions on the wars themselves, trillions on useless agencies like the DHS and not a peep from you. Nope, only thing afflicting this country that needs eliminated is anyone over 50.

to mebizarro,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I am 59,,, you gave me nothing,, I owe you nothing. I have worked some way or another summers since the age of 12 picking fruit in orchards and blueberry patches,, strawberry fields,, etc until 14 when I could work for hourly wages. I remmember the day my 40 hour 1.60 an hour paycheck netted me 48.00 after taxes. I was 14. I have paid into this no good broken system for 44 years. F you. I will survive just fine. I have paid over a million dollars in fed, state, local taxes in my lifetime. I will survive just fine. See, no one owes me anything ,,, even though their promises of SS and Medicare and all else are just promises. See,,, men,,, and I do mean men like me built this country. I have owned busnesses,,, managed businesses and sales forces in 3 states. I have seen our country turn into a bonafide free shit army goat schtupp,,,,, It was unsustainable in 1964 when we told women they didnt need husbands to support their breeding habits and it was unsustainable when we decided to in 1973 slaughter unborn infants in the womb. We have slaughtered 45 million people who couldnt protect themselves and two generations of their descendants.
This country is fucked but it is still the best place on earth if you want to build a future. I give two shits about SS and Medicare. I do care about my 5 grandkids and three daughters and their husbands. We have been lied to by Washington DC for decades. Who will light the match. I am not a doom and gloomer but their is an ill wind blowing. Daddy always said in a fight beware the quiet ones. I am a quiet one. I do have a line in the sand. It is being fucked with... Who will light the match? I am not sure. There are many plates it the air. There is a shit ton,,, farmer son in laws favorite phrase,,,, of men like me out here. Beware the quiet ones. It depends how you define success,,,, I did build that,,,,,,,
It's obvious what needs to be done; but no-one can say it; me neither. if you do; you'll disappear tomorrow.
The problem remains: if you can get to them, they're not the ones you're looking for.
My only quasi-solution: by whatever means you can muster, do not participate. Do not play their game, play yours.

And 3 in 4 Americans want to secede from Israel.

Thats why I quit.

"...separatist movements can take hold around contempt for incumbents and the status quo even when protesters have no ideology in common."
Yep, that's it! Vote all incumbents out, every time, all the time.
Wouldnt it be better to just capet bomb DC? Its what we are good at? Just say it was an asteroid impact. Nobody would even ask if it was true. Most would be like, Bummer!,,, Im over it. snark!
Or go after all the corruption right in your own state? Everybody I ever met agrees corruption is what it comes down too. This sure seems to be true every place you can name. Ask any Texan? Me I live in Ca it sure true here.
Focus people. This is silly. Who wants to live in Bushtopia? The idea of there being a Moonbeamland dont sit well with me. Now them boys in jail sounds much more workable. Just sayin.
Do people think if their area breaks off they will continue to get their government check?
I'd agree with American exceptionalism if your govt sent all 7 billion of us a check each month.
White House: "FUCK TEXAS"
!!!!! SERIOUSLY !!!!!
Why go through all this petty nonsense?
How about every individual just secede from any "group" they do not want to be part of?
Don't like the federal government? Secede.
Don't like the state government? Secede.
Don't like the country government? Secede.
Don't like the city government? Secede.
Just have a world-wide secession day, where all 7-billion humans secede from whatever fictitious predatory frauds they wish.
For myself, I just plain old "do not consent to be governed"... by anyone.
But some people actually do want to be slaves. Seriously... they really do. I think they're insane, but that's up to them. We need to let them choose for themselves, just as they need to let us choose for ourselves.
Personally, I have no interest in being enslaved or controlled by anyone.
One way such a world could be set up is "government by subscription". You like some "government program"? Great, subscribe to it (pay the price), and receive whatever so-called "benefits" you enjoy from it. Personally, I subscribe to NONE. Once all "government programs" are voluntary (by subscription), you get what you want, and nothing more.
The only tweak required in "government programs" is... they cannot in any way harm or require payments from those who do not subscribe, and cannot in any way require participation or limit the unfettered freedom of those who do not subscribe.
So, let statists enjoy their state. Leave the rest of us out of their fantasy. See how they like their utopian state... without sucking the lives out of all us honest, ethical, benevolent producers.
Woops... woke up from my dream. Damn! The predators and parasites would have no part of that... would they? Nope. And so, the only solution for honest, ethical, benevolent producers is... go hide (shrug), or aggressive, unapologetic self-defense. Or, just bow down and accept eternal slavery. But... that's really getting old, don't you think?
Government by subscription, I love the idea. I would subscribe to roads being built and borders being protected and reject every other program.
A good analogy is the cable/satellite television garbage. A consumer is forced to pay for all the channels in a package in order to get the ones they really want. So if I want my MTV, I have to pay for Telemundo and Al Jazeera America and Food Network and a whole host of other shit that I have no use for. (This is just as an example...I don't actually watch television.) The cable/satellite subscription model is being actively challenged by Netflix, Roku, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. So all of a sudden the net neutrality rules that have been in place forever need to be changed. Cable/Satellite realizes its monopoly cannot be sustained if they keep shedding their viewers to internet streaming, so they attack on another front to preserve that monopoly. I imagine that if government by subscription was to become a real movement, TPTB would attack in a similarly oblique manner.
The only way to stop the shenanigans is to unplug completely, be it from television content or gubmint programs.
@ Ann I got kids and the idea of grandkids sounds good too. So ah no.
That said if your ever in town stop by my kids band sounds really good these days.
Honestann, we have to deal with facts of history, not wishful thinking.
If one slave is allowed to “secede”, a vast majority of other slaves will do the same… end of tyranny.
Slave states do not like to lose slaves… even American tyranny will go to drastic means to recover states that secede, witness the so-called Civil War. History is littered with failed secessions or rebellions.
If we are to be successful at revolution, we must learn lessons of those very few examples of successful revolutions: Athens (year minus 508, England 1620-50, American). And Americans have no knowledge of those revolutions. Who, for example knows he has a constitutionally-protected right to withhold taxes until government redresses his grievance? In 1774, the Continental Congress unanimously declared this right and declared it, and two others, to be the purpose of the budding revolution. Again, who knows it?
The problem is, all so-called "realistic" approaches leave us as slaves. It is fundamentally (and clinically) insane to expect predators to... protect you, or even to adhere to their own rules. Want proof? Just try presenting that continental congress unanimous declaration to ANY judge in the USSA in ANY case. Result? You are DEAD MEAT.
Also, history is the past. If human beings must limit their options to "only the past", then NO "government" would exist today, because early humans never heard or conceived of any such nonsense. Which means, I suppose I should agree with you, and declare "no governments" because we must deal with "the facts of history" (pre-government history especially).
Humans are just completely horrible creatures. They will accept ANY abuse. Why? Because they are "habit machines". Don't think so? Try to "forget how to walk" sometime. You do realize, you had one hell of a time standing up when you were an infant, and an even more difficult time walking. But once you habituated those actions... piece of cake! In fact, you can now walk while paying NO attention to walking (unless you're walking somewhere strange, like jumping from rock to rock across a stream or something).
And so, when humans grow up their first few years in an environment that utterly and totally presumes utter fictional nonsense like "authority" and "government" and other such complete, over-the-top fundamentally and clinically insane nonsense... humans habituate those presumptions so utterly and completely that they simply cannot break free of their programming.
And so, humans are toast. And no practical way out exists... at least, not as a species, meaning, not on earth.
The only possibility is to "get outta dodge". Which means, to move into outer space and be free of the utterly overwhelming indoctrination that utterly DESTROYS the brains of 99.99999% of human beings. You might ask me why I'm different. I've answered that in detail before in ZH messages, but the short answer is... I realized at age 4 that I could not trust answers I got from adults. For one thing, different adults gave me different answers to the same questions. That alone is (and should be) sufficient, even for an honest 4 year old. But there were also many other very obvious reasons to come to that conclusions too, which I won't go into here yet again. And so, I was able to not habituate nonsense, or at least not habituate nonsense so firmly that I could not repair any misconceptions later on. But vanishingly few kids do [something like] this at a young enough age to protect themselves.
And so, the only viable solution at this late state of mankind is... only available to a vanishingly tiny minority (if anyone at all)... those who manage to make their way into outer space and never return. And especially those who are born in outer space, never experience anything larger scale than a spacecraft or space-habitat with a few [dozen] residents, and therefore simply avoid the insane presumptions that destroy the brains of something like 99.99999% of human beings.
Sadly, at this late date, the only hope for mankind is outer space.
PS: The existence of "frontiers" provided this option or release in past decades and centuries. Unfortunately, no fully practical frontiers exist any longer, and in another few decades even the partially practical frontiers will become non-viable (due to trillions of insect-size spy-drones and other factors).
The map reminded me of Igor Panarin's prediction of the breakup of America.
There are obvious similarites and differences, but the major differences may simpy reflect how Reuters chose to break their map into polling areas.

Yeah, like any of this would get past the boomers wanting their benefits.
You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it. --Morpheus
The way I look at it, there's an occupying force in my state.
My forebearers already seceded ;-)
The people who refuse to lay down their life for freedom should understand that 80 years of life is a blink of the eye. It's nothing, 80 million years is nothing. And nobody even has to spill their blood, they just have to spill the other guy's blood. That or don't vote and don't feed the beast. People living under bridges are the only sane people.
The Bush's, the Clintons, the Rockerfeelers won't allow a Civil War so that just wont happen.
I think what people are really trying to express is the desire to get out of the grip of the mammoth DC "octopus" that has it's tenticles around each of us, squeezing a little tighter every day.
Get back to governing by the Constitiution which puts strong limitations on the fed gov't and the power back in the hands of the citizens.
