What people seem to forget is this guy started his business in China at a time when the Internet was a pipe dream and the business environment, although promising, was daunting, particularly in Hangzhou were he was located. There is a business behind Alibaba. The valuation and governance are the issue.
I Remember those days very well and I give him credit for sticking to his original "vision."
However, along the way, his vision got banksterized and unfortunately, it is very difficult to resist the temptation to take the money off the table when the golden opportunity presents itself.
