This Is What Happens When Goldman Writes The Central Banker Script

Tyler Durden's picture

Curious what happens when Goldman writes the script for its central banker alums? This.

  • DRAGHI SAYS EXCHANGE RATE IS IMPORTANT, NOT A POLICY OBJECTIVE
  • DUDLEY SAYS VALUE OF DOLLAR CAN IMPACT APPROPRIATENESS OF MONETARY POLICY, NOT A POLICY GOAL

At this point one should just laugh.

By now it should be obvious that we have reached the Central bank, i.e., Goldman Sachs, singularity, where a few Princeton economists, MIT central-planners and Goldman partners, are desperate to micromanage everything, every single market and asset, or else watch as the house of cards is swept away by years of pent up market "efficiency."

We wish them the best of luck.

Or simply an open window when efficiency does catch up with them.

Going long on Makita and Bosch stock.  They make the best nailguns HTH

Just cover them all with HD. They sell the nails and plastic sheathing too for those gunners who are considerate of those who will be doing clean up.

Thing is, they've got all of that inventory/infrastructure overhead. I don't know if Wall Street's demand for nailguns can overcome that source of inertia.

Besides, they might be using Amazon. Especially if they get their drone fleet operational.

Criticize these central bankers all you want, they have high paying jobs now, "deferred kickback" jobs when they leave government service, public pensions, free travel and lodging and plenty of other perks.  And they don't swipe a time clock.  They are a having a great time.

Just thinking, the market's looking a little 'reddish', isn't it time to publish an update here and put an end to the bleeding?

Reads like an MSM "news" story. No matter which channel you turn to you hear the same bullet points.

I imagine the FBI showing up at Tyler's door and begging him to post an article saying the market is crashing. "Please, Tyler. You need to stop this crash right now!"

You are right about the bet.  Gold and silver are a bet on the stupidity and incompetence of those in charge.  I don't see how you can lose.

They point to a short term drop in the prices of gold and silver (a four year low is nothing) while the US has been in a depression since 2007.  The dollars been falling since 1913...

The Fed has worked overtime to mask the stink of this economy, but the stench is working it's way through the trillions of injected dollars.  The cleanup job that should have started in 2008-2009 is now going to be a whole lot messier than they have ever even imagined.

Anymore, I just scratch my head in wonder. I've given up trying to predict outcomes, because TKTB (the knuckleheads that be), seem to have an endless supply of rabbits to pull out of that hat they wear.

Jack Lew, Treas'y Sec'y is constitutionally in charge of the exchange rate, not the Federal Reserve.  Why is he allowing the FedRes, a private club, to trod on the people's turf?

Becoz the US as a nation has been but a SERF to the BANKING CARTEL banksters! When people realize this en-mass there will be revolution. But as of now, only you and other bright people of ZH know. Sad indeed.

At sixteen letters, "constitutionally" is perhaps the longest synonym for "moot" in the English language (as "comprehensive" is only thirteen).

I think Currency is going to be the word of this decade....as the East fights the West for the reserve currency.....I see this coming by the end of this decade...Russia and China do not want the dollar anymore..and they have other countries that will follow them....and we will keep printing to help them along....

It amazes me that so many people don't get how far down the tubes we are.  Even if the Fed succeeds in its banking policy goals, it will complete raze the economy in the process, as surely as it has been slowly erroding the economy for the last 40 years.

Hank Paulson, Rubin.....

Steve Freidman at the New York Fed....

Conflicts?  Rigged?  Information for some?  Prior knowledge?

Who dare turn them in.....and to whom?  The SEC who is rife with wall street job seekers?

Why would they kill their career chances by going after Goldman?

It is still incredible.....no one at Goldman did anything wrong packaging all those sub primes....and

sinking Lehman.  And if any is caught on Wall Street, it is a fine....rather than real punishment.  ANd the fine money

goes where, exactly.
