Jobless Americans Are The 'Most Comfortable' In 7 Years

Tyler Durden's picture

While we already know that "work is punished" in America, with almost 20% of Americans' disposable personal income made up of US government transfer payments (up from just 5% 60 years ago), it is perhaps no surprise that Bloomberg's Comfort Index shows the jobless in America haven't been this comfortable since 2007...

Hope...

or a generous government?

Now America is re-learning to be debt-serfs like in the Good old days of the British Monarchy and even like the British Empire.

Here is an old Example of British Outsourcing.

In WW I & WW II the British were short in the War Chest and short of resources & factories and men to fight. Was it Rothschild Idea to outsource to USA or someone else's??

USA under Woodrow Wilson and FDR agreed to put our people to work, use our precious resources, and ship war goods, food, and other things to Britain.

Concerns of Kings & Empires.

In the 19th Century the USA was already receiving important fruits or produce from the Caribbean, Central & South America... another example of outsourcing.

Funny the guy on Main Street doesn't get any further ahead when he is at either end of the Outsourcing Trade. But I do like low prices and that has reduced inflation.

The writer makes it sound like a bad thing.  Guess what?  All the manufacturing got shipped overseas.  All we have now is a stagnant service economy.  But folks still have to eat.  Should we kill the poor?

Of course the jobless are comfortable.

No boss, no angry customers, no lazy co-workers, no TPS reports, no time clock, no commute, and sleeping-in everyday.

Hard work is for suckers in the new normal.

In the future, transfer payments will be 50% of the economy (or more). The future according to "Star Trek".
The only alternative is 50%(+) systemic unemployment/homelessness, walled compounds with private security, and the world of "Elysium".

Listen Depends.

Just because you are unemployed does not mean that you cannot "GET A CHECK" from USSA government.

Poke around the Internet. But be careful, the website www.disabilitysecrets.com is a government owned "HONEYPOT".

They will use any tactic possible to disqualify you.

I would love to get disability. That shit pays 900.00 a month and you have to register as a complete invalid. Hell, I can make way more the 900.00 and I don't have to degrade what is left of my sanity and being.

woo-hoo! 900.00 rockstar life.

Or work under the table, not have to worry about medical bills, get food stamps, subsidized housing, travel vouchers to specialists, money for each bastard child you spit out, and other Federal, state and local benefits, and you can afford all the iCrap you want.

Or shack up with a 'woman' on disability, and you're set for her life....

Accordind to my recent Social Security statement, I would receive nearly as much in disability now as I will if I wait 5 more years to collect S.S. Pretty stong incentive to have a "serious back injury" now.

Trust me, you don't want to live that way.  Folks on disability cling to it for dear life from fear, not greed. If their problem isn't depression to start with it is after six months!

The solution is a full employment economy. Most of the people on disability would be employed in such an economy.  Technically then they could work if they would admit it and are therefore cheating.  But no one will hire the disabled, so they are unemployed *because* they are disabled and so are imho fully morally justified.

Once on, if they take a job and it doesn't work out they're really screwed because it can take 2 years to get back on the rolls, if ever!

Some unknown percent of the long-term disabledd is thus a component of the unemployed population, hidden in plain sight. They can never risk admitting they are really unemployed though, except to someone they trust. And defining themselves as unable to work can be devastating.

I understand the disability part of the SS fund runs out in two years and the fund's income will only cover 85% of the payments.  Your $900 check gets cut to $765.  Cheers!

When I tell this to folks on disability, inevitably they start sputtering "they can't do that!  They CAN'T do that!"

There's still some illusion thing running there.

Yeah, 11 million disabled, 150 million on pills, 250 million menataly disabled morons who can't think past their tv remote, 80 million disease ridden trespasser thieves while 8% of the population works for the government and keeps it all working like a well oiled zionist machine. Not a real machine of course, the goverment who know everything there is to know about anything made sure those left for our own good (and a couple of blowjobs) and to keep us safe from some bad people who run with scissors and spit.

Few Americans ever really work through the numbers but fact is if you can get enough from the Government in disability, unemployment, or some other kind of welfare why even jeopardize that income by thinking about taking a job. If a person lives where cost are not to high they can do fairly well.

For all the moaning about how it is not enough and those living on the dole are forced into a life of poverty in fact those that suffer greatly often do so because of poor spending choices rather then the amount they receive. The article below delves into why people often choose to live a life as unemployed in America.

The denominator is going down in the aggregate due to lower level of employment and the average wage is going down so the % is affected more than the government programs contribution going up - with exception of SS enrollment expanding

The % of employed is cresting 59% headed to 49% then the real problem surfaces - McDonalds same store sales down 2.8% WM same problem - the service and retail industry products - no matter how cheap- is no longer affordable for a massive number of people

No discretionary income - no consumers - no sales - next white collar jobs are on the edge of a major fall there is nothing to catch them - even high end - lawyers etc -

End game

Food stamps, Medicaid, Low-Income Home Heat Subsidies, Section 8 Housing... all very good.  Yes, yes.  The poor are doing just great in the good-old USA.  Now let me ask you a question.  Do you have any idea how well you can live on a standard disability claim from the U.S. government in most South American countries?  With free or very inexpensive health-care, virtually no property tax, not much of a winter in many parts to worry about heating your home, my question is why doesn´t everyone get disabled and come to South America?  For a disability claim of $900 a month, someone could live in a very nice apartment, with a doorman and cab-stand with an always-waiting taxi, downtown, eat at the best restaraunts in town 2 or 3 nights a week, and take taxis everywhere in town, here where I live.  (Really you could just pay your own driver, every day, if you had a car- he could also double as a translater).

I can´t believe, actually, that this has not become all the rage.  But wait, just wait, because all those "folk" coming across the border will figure this out very, very quickly.... lol.
