FBI Blasts Apple, Google Phone Encryption: It "Allows People To Be Beyond The Law""
By Martin Armstrong of Armstrong Economics
FBI James Comey Attacks Apple & Google

FBI director James Comey, who used to be the head prosecutor in NYC the most corrupt office in the system, had come out swinging at Apple and Google for developing forms of smartphone encryption so secure that law enforcement officials cannot easily gain access to information stored on the devices – even when they have valid search warrants. Of course, Mr Comey can only see the abuse of power of government as necessary and not the severe damage that has been done to the entire industry because of the abuse of the NSA and others. He said he could not understand why companies would “market something expressly to allow people to place themselves beyond the law.” Perhaps he should not work for government and then he might get it.
Largely because of the abuse of government, which is by itself beyond the law that he cannot grasp, this is not a question of only criminals. This is a matter of personal privacy that a government if FREE – has not right to violate. This is not all about him. This is what those in government cannot see. There is a real world out here with a right to LIBERTY, FREEDOM FOR ALL, and the right to PRIVACY. It was government outlawing condoms that led the Supreme Court to draw the line and say no – there is a right to privacy. That right was established in Griswold v Connecticut. Just how does one enforce you are not using a condom? Do government agents storm into your bedroom to inspect before having sex? This is what Comey just does not understand – sorry you have no such right. Prove your cases the old fashion way – with detective work.

James Otis (1725-1783)
James Comey needs to go back to law school to study the simple fact that the American Revolution began because of this very type of abuse of the search and seizure of private communications without warrants. George III (b 1738; 1760-1820) became king in 1760. In February 1761 Parliament enacted the Writs of Assistance that were challenged in court in Boston, Massachusetts. These were writs that empowered, like the NSA today at their discretion, the kings agents to search anything they suspected. The defending lawyer James Otis (1725-1783) pronounced these writs were “the worst instrument of arbitrary power, the most destructive of English liberty, and the fundamental principles of law, that ever was found in an English law book.” Otis warned that the king placed discretion in the hands of every agent to act as he desired. Nothing has changed for Comey can do whatever he desires and it is always the burden of the citizen to still prove he has any rights whatsoever.

John Adams (1735–1826; 2nd President 1797–1801) was there in the audience at that hearing that day. Adams was so moved by the four hour speech of James Otis that he declared: “Then and there was the first scene of the first act of opposition to the arbitrary claims of Great Britain. Then and there, the child independence was born.”
I am sure the kings men also viewed their power as necessary as Comey does today. They could simply enter someone’s home and search all your papers. If you wrote anything derogatory against the king, off you went to prison. This is what inspired the American Revolution and the Fourth Amendment that there had to be a reason to search not just arbitrary desire to want to know and lets see what we can find as the NSA and FBI do today. This is the very essence of LIBERTY. You cannot pretend to be the leader of the free world with people like Comey in government.

Lets start looking at whats on that dirtbags phone. Post everything he said or did on his phone over the last year. All of it.
James comey can fuck a wet cheerio and not break it.
Oh shit! I really like this one! +1000 Will use!
False Flag. Apple has already given NSA a "backdoor". The FBI is just the front...
Cmon people this is a ruse. This is just to give you a false sense of security. The FBI says this shit once a decade just to make you think "Oh... my network communication is NOW uncrackable!" Give me a friggin break.
Uncrackable code has been free since 1993 with PGP.
But how many phones let you install your own & use that?
That's the key concept here. And if the hardware is compromised to show keystrokes then you'd have to send to your phone and pass on via the phone, so what's the point?
Unless you're using a 100% opensource phone you may as well keep that phone for purely work/emergency needs & not do anything personal or like computing on it.
That's what computers are for.
The real problem is that we are either totally addicted or totally reliant on our phones otherwise we would all switch them off for two months and bring the whole show to an end.
I'm thoroughly ambivalent on this.
I don't know that privacy gives me the right to make a one-mile call over public networks much less a ten-thousand mile call over public networks, that some minimal authority cannot evesdrop on. I guess I don't want it recorded and put on the Internet for *anyone* to browse, and the problem is once the "government" captures it, Snowden only knows what kind of clerks, moles, and triple-agents don't get access.
OTOH there are bad guys out there and it *is* a public network.
But I don't much believe the FBI can't break it anyway, just maybe not in realtime for every call.
NSA, not the FBI and don't bet on it.
Why not the FBI?
All they have to do is pick up all the obsolete Bitcoin mining hardware on Ebay, program it to break voice encryption, and they could probably break any call in ten seconds. IOW it's inconvenient but probably doable. And that's assuming NSA doesn't let them in the back door.
Actually you can't. That's why bitcoin "mining rigs" are such garbage, they are a one-purpose setup & can't be repurposed. That's the price you pay for making custom chips that do just that. They are real good at just that.
Well, there you go, lovers of those human predators who call themselves "government". No doubt can remain, no argument can be given that the predators consider ANY restraint upon their unfettered atrocities to be unacceptable. These perverts are so craven that someone needs to sit down and create new phrases to describe them.
However, and very unfortunately, the probability is... all this noise is a head-fake in which the predators-DBA-corporations pretend to offer products that support privacy when in fact by mutual agreement with predators-DBA-government back-doors exist to make government able to decrypt easily. A number of very tricky ways to accomplish this have been discovered in recent years, and no doubt these supposedly new encryption variants are similarly compromised for the benefit of predators-DBA-government and predators-DBA-corporations. Never forget that the largest and fastest growing business of corporations like google and amazon is farming ever more private and detailed personal information from their customers.
I bet these supposedly new encryption variants are setups, and all the complaining that is going on is purposely devised to convince billions of clueless people that the products do indeed offer privacy, but in fact deliver adopters into the hands of the predators.
The truth is, at best, encryption only makes decryption take longer. And the time required to break any given encryption falls quite a bit every year. So to have anything like reasonable privacy, one already needs encryption key sizes that are not (to my knowledge) offered in mainstream products. Better techniques are required, at least support for much longer encryption key sizes in mainstream products, plus thoroughly and inherently randomized key generation by processes that cannot be replicated.
Honest right back at you Ann. Have been right again.
Solution temporary
Go unwired. Disconnect. Just an inconvenient idea.
Handwriting/Calligraphy on paper is 1,000 x more secure than any mathematical algorithm you can contrive to run on your silly gadgets. Also, when you burn the document after the message is delivered, there is no digital trail for spooks to backtrack. Encryption is a joke.
As long as it's burned to ash not just burned really dark and still in some peices. Don't be lazy, burn that muthafucker to a crisp.
Wouldnt it be nice if we could get a peak at the info on thier phones. The stuff they say in private. All the places they go and all the people they hang out with.
A day in the life of say Mr Holder? Yet this clown wants access to every day of my life.
All this goes away the day they are measured the same as us.
I logged on to say the same thing but you beat me to it. We are far more likely to be harmed by the police than we are by any of the people they say they are protecting us from. Maybe if we forced all law enforcement officers to have live streaming cameras installed in every room of their house we could be sure that only those with the most noble intentions would want the job. After all, if they are not doing anything wrong then they have nothing to worry about, and if it saves one child it will be worth it. Right?
Privacy is not about wrongdoing.
Would Mr. Comey let me look through his wife's underwear drawer? Would he hand me his wallet and look at the contents? Would he let me audit his financial investments?
Apple launches iPhone 6, which immediately has problems. They lose face in a big way. They don't like to lose face. They announce that the NSA can't access data. Everyone thinks the iPhone 6 is cool. FBI and NSA denounce Apple for doing this, increasing their cool factor by 1000%. Everyone buys iPhone 6 because they have defeated the NSA.
I don't believe a fucking word of Apple propaganda. The winners in this are Apple and the NSA.
Panders to the "iGeneration" - "My iPhone is more secure than your Samsung / ZTE / HTC / Nokia / LG". Except that it certainly isn't.
If "The Management" were even slightly inconvenienced by Apple's activities, they "have the means" to make Apple's commercial life very difficult indeed. So, we can safely assume that this is nothing other than a promotional effort. Even more "conspiratorial" - could this be an effort to "steer" potential customers towards Apple, which then suggests that there may be a particularly effective juicy vulnerability already built in - easier / better access for "our Protectors"??
Another good reason to avoid iProducts like the plague they are.
Apple will not bend to the police state !
[now return that $23B cap loss damn it!!]
it is actually the best proof for me that gov and apple are joined at the hip when FBI director starts to advertise corporations.
Double post
Why am I having visions of Brer Rabbit and the marketing briar patch?
FUCK YOU Comey.
Comey didn't learn his lessons the first go round in school, so going back won't help him to understand anything more.
Follow the Constitutional Laws James. We could easily hack into your personal life and turn it upside down. Get a warrant!
Maybe a little kiddy porn found on your computer will knock you down a couple of ego notches.
The enemy.
google is govt., lets set that record straight.
put this into perpective, (goebbels alert).
fbi is mad at apple, and google.
o'bama, you can keep your ins. plan, and your doctor.
cia director, we don't intercept, and save average americans communications.
there's no inflation, unemployment is dropping.
gold, silver, libor, and stock-markets are not manipulated.
"I have the geatest organized crime syndicate at my command, Reggie!"
"Oh, goody!"
The data is only encrypted when the device is cold. If the government wants to get your data, they can do it while you have it powered on. Like, probably 24 hours a day. All they have to do is run a program on it that reads from the device, and they get full, unfettered, unencrypted access to whatever they like. This is a total BS public relations stunt. Even leaving your tin foil hat at home, and a collusion between the BigCos and the government out of the argument, there is still the idea that this might just convince a few narcos and whomevers to store their illegal information on 'secure' iPhones. Talk about a big win for big brother!
Listen USD.
I agree but what is the benefit of Celly? Instant gratification? Someone can call you and spend 10 minutes of "YOUR" time to find out:
"Hey, What's up"?
WTF man?
Why do you think DOD uses BlackBerry? All of our shit is and has been encrypted.
Only lemmings use iCrapple Products. Winks.
They used to have a decent encryption that would prevent some hackers....that's irrelevant when the DoD buys them...loaded with everything our overlords need for access to the phone.
This little drama is to create the impression that it really is different this time.
I concur with the many posters that have said that anyone who believes in this corporate "encryption" is a fool. It is impossible for Google/Apple to change their stripes; their business model and their enterprises would not survive. They cannot and will not, change their stripes.
Google is a huge collaborator and facilitator for .gov. Many .gov agencies (including the DoD, NSA, FBI) use their commercial applications in ways that most cannot. Google has many custom applications for the military/security/intel communities.
They are defense contractors in cyber-warfare/security and several other fields. In this sense, these corporations are comparable to MIC stalwarts like Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, and Northrop-Grumman. The amount of public taxpayer money transferred to private hands is huge, and they get a big piece of that action.
Their record is long and incontrovertible.
Any imbecile who trusts corporate knaves like Apple and Google to "protect their privacy" deserves exactly what they get.
It is decidedly NOT different this time.
I wanted to upvote you twice.
Thanx for the vote of confidence.
This shit gets me all fired up...
Atomizer: Why do you think DOD uses BlackBerry? All of our shit is and has been encrypted.
"so evidently, drastic Hail Mary maneuvers needed to be pulled out of their telecom playbook. Last August, after a “four-year standoff” with the government of India, BlackBerry quietly gave the Indian government complete access to its encryption keys, in exchange for BlackBerry’s entrance into the Indian market"
http://www.vice.com/en_ca/read/how-has-the-nsa-been-able-to-spy-on-the-b...
Yea, go ahead and tell me how NSA can't read the Blackberry...
"The claims also say that the specialists had success hacking into BlackBerry devices back in 2009 where they could "see and read SMS traffic",

Wish I could post images, but cannot. Go into settings, certificates. If you happen to know what you're doing. Block the cunt licks off the device.
Don't ask how, you figure it out.

haha, spooks!
FU -> FBI
Some local county could by simply voting for it give complete access to the civil grand jury of that county. It differs from county to county but basicaly my understanding is they could. In some counties they actually do have access to all government records used in that county. These are records we are talking about. Wheather they were legaly gathered or not. If a county employee can access them they fall under the civil grand juries whim.
The right civil grand jury in the right county could just ask for and get the keys. If the county or any of its employees has the keys. Its kind of a done deal.
It is most pathetic because they can't even get a laugh.
Hey Comey, were you able to decode that message I just left you on my encrypted phone?
If not, here it is: FUCK OFF, AND STAY OFF MY LAWN!
Tough shit.
So all they get is time, place and to whom and encoded content.
Atomizer: Wish I could post images, but cannot. Go into settings, certificates. If you happen to know what you're doing. Block the cunt licks off the device.
Don't ask how, you figure it out.
Atom, I was not hammering you personally. I don't have a dog in this hunt, I got rid of my smartphone and went back to a $9 samsung stupid phone. My life is pretty boring, not much to listen in on......
They want to know where we can be found.
That's a matter of time-frame. If others see you, if you use debit & credit cards, if you're regularly showing up for work, I imagine finding you isn't that hard.
I did you one better and cancelled all cell phone service 2 years ago. I know it's shocking, life did not end.
i wonder how these very same law enforcement officials would feel if the lowly citizens could eavesdrop on THEM.
something tells me it would not make them feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
What would Lois do?
delete
intercept network
"Dammit, men, we cannot allow the Constitution to operate as written! Find a way to break this encryption!"
"If people are secure in their possessions, property, and privacy we cannot steal their Stuff!"
We're living in the 4th level of "Inception".
Terminator "4" > the matrix<
what are the chances the NSA/FBI did not develop google/apple "encryption" as a joint effort with those companies? it's not as if they have ever cooperated in the past, right?
Basic logic says they sure as hell own it. Its a free honey pot of higher value info. Helps apple out too. Like greenwashing stuff for the koolaid drinkers. Its free too. Conversly they would never just come out and say how to get around them.
it's just like the iphone fingerprint unlocking introduced in the last generation... makes your phone so much more secure, and simpler/faster to unlock with no more password entry required! it's totally safe becuase your fingerprint is not stored anywhere except on your iphone, which could never be hacked, and apple would never download the prints to corporate servers or sell them to government/corporate customers to assist in spying on you... companies come out with marketing campaigns on how safe and secure these advances are, and government agencies come out with public "blasts" how terrible these companies are behaving. if governments were seriously upset, they would fine the companies, oh, 7b USD or so (ask BNP).
i have no problem with governments spying in order to get real intelligence against real terrorists/threats (though i understand the privacy issues and sympathize with those who are against spying regardless). my issue with smartphone monitoring is that no terrorists are using iphones and and android phones, and i guess most don't even communicate over global networks anymore as they know everything is monitored these days. what's the point trying to monitor the idiot terrorists who are dumb enough to do so... it's like monitoring a mentally retarded/challenged person in case he figures out how to commit white collar crime. a total waste of effort. the only target for these types of spy efforts end up being the masses of retail customers, which has absolutely zero use in preventing real terrorism or crime.
save my tax dollars for something useful please.
Non-issue, plus I get the feeling they are complaining to loudly, in order to get people to feel safe and complacent again like they were prior to Snowden.
A million "fuck you" comments won't do one single thing to stop the tyranny.
Good thing we didn't have internet in 1776, or we'd still be British colonies.
Internet will prevent a revolution. Lets people vent their anger.
I up-voted you and then remembered how the American revolution was BS too (all done by blue-blooded insiders, evidently), so in fact I think you may be wrong.
Hopefully we can do better than a staged revolution selling more lies, thanks to the internet!
A nation of adolescent "fuck you" mentalities couldn't pull off a revolution anyway.
1776 revolution was very real, no fake about it. But 5 yrs later "blue bloods" were moving in and subverting the new American govt, moving it away from the new constitution. They used the oldest tools around, bribes and corruption. People just can't resist money under the table.
Cell phone? It is a tracking device that also can make calls. Series of tubes? It is just glorified telephony. XXX18j3hb4jn276sni_@noon est!_jge62f8XXX And Prosecute American War Criminals!
With mountain of evidence provided they still haven't prosecuted any TBTF banks from 2008.
But what's he really saying is that those not in the Just Us League will be harder to prosecute and have to make them work.
It costs energy to spy, it also cost a lot more energy to decrypt communications. Corporate profits come 1st, a lot of these agencies have been designed to protect corporate profits and the interests of the elite, if they have to spend more and more of their bloody money on energy to push ones and zeros around to crack encryption sooner or later all the little guys private lives start to cost them more and more money, money they dont have lol...
Get rid of all the tracking/spy devices... your cell phone and the GPS in your car. Learn to read a fucking map.
No worries whatsoever.
Did it - almost. Dumped an iPhone two years ago but still keep a basic phone sitting on the counter except for bad weather or trips out of town. Then use an iPad with Wi-Fi for Internet and keep clearing the cookies. Saves money and don't really need Internet while driving anyway.
Maybe the FBI does not understand that spying on people is a privilege given to it under extreme circumstances where there is a provable likelihood of a serious crime being committed.
The ability to spy on people is not a RIGHT. Privacy is a right, not a privilege.
People a never beyond the law... however, the law is frequently beyond the people and just because the FBI likes it that way does not make it right.
Only a criminal and corrupt government need monitor the people.
An American, not US subject.
"I see sleeping people."
Note: DON'T use IE, add HTTPS Everywhere to your browser, use NoScripts and remember "metadata" is their FIRST link to you, keep them from getting it.
what would the FBI do with all the answers
.
cure hunger bitchez
The 'protection' is created by entering a password. Eric Schmidt (?) the CEO of Google was making the talk show rounds and was careful with his answers - finally admitting that 'if the NSA or FBI ask for the password, we will give it to them'. So much for 'security'
So, who is first to try some deceptive communications on their iphone just to try out the encryption?
http://www.businessinsider.com/police-apple-will-become-the-phone-of-cho...
Not surprisingly, they play the pedophilia card too. Using privacy tools = you must be a pedophile!
Heres a solution to that one . Don't give a fuck'n mobile phone to your infants then the paedophiles can't ring them up
THIS IS JUST A SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AMERICAN ENCRYPTION WILL HAVE BACKDOORS. Do not believe this, it is just a big lie.
.gov spooks inc. are unable to break the APPL & GOOG encryption. You are safe to say anything you want with those gadgets. You have complete privacy. Honest, I swear. Would I lie to you?
We will probably find out that Comey is the agent of a deception to make us think that Microsoft and Google are trying to protect their customers but are actually still in bed with the NSA.
If you don't always start with the premise that TPTB are always deceiving us you will often take the bait and play the fool.
In recent times, there has been a concerted effort to try to rehabilitate John Adams as a worthy "founding father". This effort has been led by discredited (yet Pulitzer Prize winning!) "historian" Joseph Ellis and others. They have built up and cashed in on this little cottage industry.
I find it deliciously ironic that Martin Armstrong uses John Adams to discuss citizen rights and the essence of liberty. This guy is clearly not aware that "his rotundity" (Adams) was responsible for making the Alien and Sedition Act the law of the land, backed up by the great power of government, with its, courts, sheriffs, and police. Armstrong does not realize that Adams shut down critical publishers and incarcerated every single owner of the opposition’s printing presses, trampling the right to free speech under his foot.
There are many more similar things that can be said about Adams, but I do not want to go off on a rant; besides, I do not have to. His contemporaries clearly stated their views on him, and there is an ample historical record that survived.
John Adams was completely marginalized by every single serious man of stature in government. The fact is that Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Paine, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and many others believed Adams to be second-rate, ill tempered, and absolutely did not trust his judgment.
Aren't you just sick of these fucks who come out with this sort of crap. "Using the phone allows people to go beyond the law" i would have thought listening in on private conversations was going beyond the law. Where is the presumption of innocence. It is not like the security apparatus could consider themselves as successful unless you consider leading potential terrorists on until they are encouraged enough to commit a crime as success. Prize wanker!
Spying on all citizens is not a mark of control & strength, but mark of a weakness.
If the Empire needs to police all citizens, then the end of the emipre is close,, 10 maybe 20 years.
China wants to move its network outside the IANA and ICANN.
Russia, Brasil want to do the same. If Germany would do it as well, then the NSA can go to hell and terorize their own citizens (who are not capable enough, or lazy, to avoid the spying, just use bitmessage for email and switch off the phone as frequently as possible, use Tor for surfing, harden your linux, even with NSA tools, they have a really good RHL implementation, I took some advices from them , how to harden the system. thats it. Just to rise the costs for them, if only 5%, who are IT capable, whoul do it, then they can go already to the hell, cause the other 95% are only a noise on the network, , NETFLIX, FB TWITTER users, who are abused in that sense, that NSA distortes the gov money to get on those 95%.
Who wants to be totally anonyme, he van. Use chineese products, no US producst /I know, then the device will talk to a chineese NSA and not the US NSA, but it avoids the us, what is the purpose/ tailor your own linux/unix environment and they must then be explicit and go after you....)
I installed by purpose remailer, bitmessage VPN, and tor node, just for fun.
funny.
the encryption was broken before they went into production.
Shhh..you are ruining our Kabuki theater.
Now please pass the tub of popcorn.
Is this a given sales pitch for Apple after other USA data or telecooms hardware, and/or software, producers loose major sales numbers and contracts around the world due to the revealed, or perceived lack of security and back doors.
So it's - Buy Apple, even the authorities complain that the products are(too) safe ; the sting being that maybe they are not really what they're said to be, not secure at all, yet the purchaser supposed to have greater faith that they are NOW.
Firean, that does make sense. After all wasn't it the DOD or the CIA that helped Google fund it's start-up? Would they bite the hand that feeds them?
As Joe Rogan once pointed out, can anyone imagine the government saying they would open and read every single letter that goes through the postal system? That's how ridiculous this is.
Not the point. Just as the king's men didn't search every person's house, they had the right to select a group of houses and search them without constraint. Now if you offer the argument that whoever the government chooses to target MUST have something to hide or the government would not be targeting them, then I would propose to you that this is precisely why you have the 4th amendment.
^^
This is the perfect description. Everyone remember this the next time some dumbass sheep tells you that "surveillance make us all more secure"
The NSA like the Drug Cartels is a Criminal Organization and must be Destroyed. The Corporations must be forced to expose and stop their Spying and Controlling the Internet by a "Internet Bill of Rights" and some mean consumer action . Once the NSA is destroyed other Branches of the Government will take over but they will comply with "the US Constitution". The Way to take down the Black Building is the Book "the Art of War" by Sun Tzu and American Vigilantes or Lone American Cowboys can and will do the Mission. Our Children and their Children will have their freedoms and privacy in 2026 the 250 anniversary of our Country no matter what the Cost to the NSA and their loved ones! We owe our children that much! God bless America and her great US Constitution!
It couldn't have been such a great Constitution if it was so easily corruptable, almost from the get-go.
The Constitution? Today it is just just words written on a piece of paper. Profound words of wisdom indeed, but just words. Unless those words are ingrained into the mind year after year in the school system, the meaning of those words soon become forgotten. Maybe we should start a mass email campaign to Comey, and each one should contain a copy of the Bill of Rights just so he gets the idea that were are nearing the edge with this bulls hit.
“beyond the law”... like those who control and operate the US Government believe they are?
Scum.
How about this motherfucker, I'll show you whats on my phone if you show me what's on yours.
Reverse psychology by the Fascists.
Comey protestes too much?
Helping Apple & Google.
Making you believe all is safe.
It's all a deception.
Comey is a good Jesuit boy.
Translation: "We got used to the unconstitutional honeypot of monetized privacy. Waaaaaaa. Boo hooo!"
Time for Comey to go.
Millions have died to protect freedom from the likes of his skewed neo-con ideology.
About time tech fights back. Privacy is privacy, not some legal construct you can abuse, James.
I am sure that if Joseph Goebbels were alive today he would say... " If I had a son he would be just like James Comey."
For someone in the FBI to even make sucha statement is telling. How far we have fallen down the cosmic bunny hole of government intervention. All I can say is this man deserves his own lamppost.
The government has been giving itself a pass on obeying the Constitution for too long. People who love big and Bigger government have vividly re-imagined what it says to the point they think that government has the power to do anything it can excuse away.
I cannot imagine that all the Founding Fathers who proposed, debated and ratified the language of the Fourth Amendment would say right after all 13 state ratified it that to be "secure" in our "persons and papers" means that government has the right to open and read every piece of mail so that, just in case, it can get a captive "judge" (government employee) to "authorize" use of that mail. It would be considered an impeachable offense or crime. It is an impeachable offense and a crime even though government has ruled it is not. Make no mistake (and notice by their actions) government first protects government.
Who died and left him in charge? Where does Comey get off with a statement like that. It appears to me that Big Brother has grown too big for his britches. I sincerely wish that Apple and Google would distribute spyware to us that allowed us to view all of Comey's personal messages just to see how he would feel about that! I bet that cocksucker would be screaming bloody murder over his privacy rights.
This is rich FBI now being a shill for American company interests. The encryption sucks on the Iphone including that fingerprint scanner which is an optical scanner not biometric or else it would require some oils from the finger for verification. So much for a free market and non government intervention in it. Google and Apple I guess they never heard the saying when you go to bed with a dog you wake up with fleas. They should have went public instead of getting in bed with these people when they started strong arming them.
Apple and especially google are in bed with government (name a three letter branch) and this is an advertisement for their product. Like most 'security' it is design to keep the common criminal away from your shit. All encryption has a key and is stored somewhere in the product so it can be unlocked.
I wonder how many seconds it takes the NSA, FBI, CIA, IRS, etc. to open these?
If you want to communicate electronicly consider that communication to be heard, read and recorded by the surveillance state. If you wish to send a communique that the recipient has a permanent record of I suggest you follow the lead of the Kremlin and use a typewriter and a hand delivered note. Sending a text reading... "meeting tonight to plan for our secret flash mob protest at the local FBI store front" expect yourself and the meeting to be monitored now and into the foreseeable future. Lets not get all indignent but instead find the work around until the rest can get sorted out.
" Lets not get all indignent but instead find the work around until the rest can get sorted out"
No reason NOT to do BOTH.
If you want to communicate electronicly consider that communication to be heard, read and recorded by the surveillance state. If you wish to send a communique that the recipient has a permanent record of, and the spooks don't, I suggest you follow the lead of the Kremlin and use a typewriter and a hand delivered note. Beyond what law?
That's a knee slapper. What a joke.
If this guy had to hand over his phone to his wife every day when he got home from work so she could go through it to check if he did anything wrong, I'm sure he would not like it at all.
Well, I have a safe in the house, how come they are not jumping up and down about breaking into that. Why does a physical safe have different laws ro an electronic safe. If they want into my safe, they have to get warrant and they would have to blow the door off.
The celebrity pics are one side of the equation, now Apple has the other, and we are supposed to conclude "problem solved...we're safe."
The dialectic is everywhere. Everything is calculated.
The cynic in me says that Apple, Google, and the security establishment are all in bed together, and while touting the new iPhone encryption as "unbreakable," there is no problem getting in.
Forgive me for not trusting APPLE and GOOGLE, but what better a cover story than the "US Govt furious over new encryption scheme" to convince people that its safe and secure. I wouldnt trust these productes any more than any other Google or APPLE chat - one has to believe that the parties that be will have a poper back door.
"I am not a Stalinist cunt."
-- Director James Comey
Beyond the Law is the protected zone of the Bill of Rights. Inalienable rights are Always beyond the law, as in being above the law.
So, this is them pretty much saying you don't have a right to privacy, you don't have a right to protected free speech, you don't have a right to whistle-blow free from repercussions, you don't have a right to trade secrets , you don't have a right to anything, you don't even have doctor patient confidentiality, or the right to private talks with your lawyer.
Technically, the Federal Govt is voiding all confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements because the simple act of using your phone voids your non-disclosure agreement as they are a third party listening in, if they really want to open this can of worms . . . thousands of quirky lawsuits could be filled.
QUESTION FOR ZH:
Do you all think Ubuntu's soon to be released Mobile OS will be any better???
;-D
It means : Apple and Google take back their stolen asset. And they will sell it to the highest bidder. And there seems to be a little quarrel over the price.
Comey's photograph appeared in the local paper with the local sheriff a day after my application for Deputy Sherrif Detention was abruptly halted. Coincidence, or not? Comey wouldn't target lil' o me, would he?
It would appear that I may have been targeted previously, when brought on board for a government job, where I was told on the first day that "There is no work for you here, now or in the future." On the first damn day. They WHY was I hired? And am I still being gang-stalked electronically, and in person?
How about the subsequent seasonal government job I got, when I was hired along with hundreds of others, three of whom appeared to know each other on the first day of training, though they denied knowing each other. How about the Jewish guy, who denied being Jewish?
One thing is for sure. I was qualified for the job, and my Supervisor was not. However I was denied. Justice denied, at he DOJ.
Are they planning some kind of event, after sending me on my merry way?
Stay tuned.
comey is a piece of shit. he is a terrorist, a nazi, and a communist. above all he is a satan worshipping cunt.
Mr. Comey:
please yank my other thumb.
yes.
that's it.
much better.
thank you.
what bullshit.
Its just the US government trying to get the masses to trust google and apple with their privacy again. Google and Apple have given the various agencies backdoors and keys. Google and Apple need their credibility restored, so the is the quid of the pro quo for giving the government unabated access to everyone's data.
Who in hell does this son of s bitch, Comey, think he is? Who died and made him god? FUCK OFF AND DIE!!!, Mo'Fu'.
I will believe that things are changing for the better and someone gives a fuck when a guy like Comey has an unfortunate accident. We are way past the chain of events that caused the American Revolution but here we are, no revolution. Which I guess says a lot about what a worthless dead end fucked up place the US is today. There is no future here and there needs to be a mass exodus.
James Comey forgot to watch Captain America - The Winter Soldier.
What the hell is he talking about? Does he think that private conversations are 'beyond the law', or that any conversation that can't be monitored is 'beyond the law'?
This guys is an idiot, asshole, fascist, douche. Put him in prison for violating his oath to protect our Constitution.
They free a sex slave, and fight for Civil Rights, once or twice a year. The rest of the time, they work for THEM. A dual structured agency, infiltrated by Israel?
