How The "Syrian Rebels" Really Feel About "Friendly" US Airstrikes
Late yesterday, General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the U.S. military's Joint Chiefs of Staff, disclosed what in a nutshell US strategy in Syria would be.
For one, he announced that the US would require some 12,000-15,000 armed, trained and paid for boots on the ground, i.e., mercenaries to do Obama's dirty work on the ground because the Nobel peace prize winner is unwilling to go all the way with his belligerent pivot. As a reminder, the last notable time the US engaged in wholesale arming and funding of offshore mercenaries was the Afghan war, when the CIA got involved with the Mujahideen "freedom fighters" whose funding began with $20–$30 million per year in 1980 and rose to $630 million per year in 1987, culminating with the terrorist action of Osama Bin Laden, once a close friend of the US and the CIA (read more about Operation Cyclone here).
More importantly, as Reuters reported, Dempsey said that the endgoal is "to recapture lost territory in eastern Syria". Territory, which as we reported in July, amounts to 35% of Syria's landmass and includes most of its oilfields. And sure enough, the territory would be preserved for the exclusive use of the "rebels", or the group of Islamists from whose ranks none other than ISIS arose over the past year. And since the rebels couldn't care one way or another, this is merely a way for the US to say that whatever Syrian territory is "liberated" from ISIS presence, it will be disposed of as the US sees fit, with the only decisions being whether to grant it to Qatar or Saudi Arabia.
In the meantime, things on the propaganda front are going form bad to worse. Recall the Nusra front - the extreme wing of the "rebels" that the US is allegedly supporting? Well as Haaretz just reported, ""the al Qaida-linked Nusra Front on Saturday denounced U.S.-led air strikes on Syria, saying they amounted to a war against Islam and vowing to retaliate against Western and Arab countries that took part.
Er, that doesn't help the official party line that Syrian rebels are greeting the US with open arms. "We are in a long war. This war will not end in months nor years, this war could last for decades," the group's spokesman Abu Firas al-Suri said.
Funny, because earlier today, Syria's foreign minister Walid al-Muallem was informed, by the US mind you, that the war against ISIS will continue for three years, or just after until the end of Obama's second, and hopefully final term.
"It's not a war against Nusra Front, it's a war against Islam," he added in an audio message published on the group's social media network, its first reaction since the launch of the U.S.-led strikes on Tuesday.
As an amusing aside, Site reports about a Dutch jihadist and member of al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria, the al-Nusra Front, who reacted to the Netherlands revoking his passport by publishing a diatribe against the Western concepts of capitalism and democracy, and criticizing the Netherlands for joining the U.S.-led military coalition.
But while the extreme Syrian "rebels" are allowed to have a minority report opinion - after all they are ISIS in all but name - one would think that at least the "moderate" Syrian rebels, whatever that means (and since the entire US strategy in Syria is based on weeding out the moderates from the, well, non-moderates we eagerly look forward to finding out just how the Pentagon distinguishes one from the other) are far more positively inclined toward the US. One would be wrong.
Here are some three dozen YouTube videos released over the past two days, showing just how the Syrian "rebels", those which the US is supposedly helping, feel about America, and US-led airstirkes "on their behalf."

I'm pretty sure there is NO confusion in the Obola Camp.
We are totally out of control.....vote in November
$10 says nothing changes. I would bet more, but I have a gambling problem.
Not a problem when it is a sure bet, "nothing changes" is a definite win.
Do the actions of the US mean that Russia could create a coalition of the willing with his satellite Countries and be justified to bomb Kiev at will, using parallel excuses?
Corruption in the US is covert. In places like Argentina it is overt.
In the end it's al human weakness. Same desires at play, only different tools, and different ability or experience in hiding real motives for actions.
"Corruption in the US is covert. In places like Argentina it is overt. "
Corruption in the US used to be covert. It is no longer. Particularly in the example you cite, Ukraine, the corruption is now as overt as anywhere in the world. When the son of the vice president is benefiting directly from his financial connections to our policy of warfare, it doesn't get more overt than that. They have now set up the enforcement state to such a level that they have decided it is no longer necessary to hide what they are doing. All those rounds of ammunition will be their response when enough people finally realize that the corruption they simply can't believe our country is capable of, is only half of what these assholes have been up to.
I agree with you that Argentina, Venezuela, and others are further along the path of government centered destruction than are we, but even we are well beyond covert at this point. They are currently codifying into law what they used to hide. Doesn't get more overt than that.
The MIC Cyclops is hungry for blood. It cares not whose.
Vote in November? Obviously, voting is for idiots. Idiots voting is what got us into this mess.
Vote for what? For whom?
all i know that if people were doing airstrikes in america, i'd be pissed off, too...
just sayin'
bitchez...
At this point I think anything is possible
"all i know that if people were doing airstrikes in america, i'd be pissed off, too..."
I've often said that. Imagine if another country started bombing here because they said we had terrorists who might hurt them someday. Americans would be outraged and demand retaliation. (by the way we do have terrorists here. They're in D.C.)
Also, imagine being any Iraqi 24 years old or younger. Starting with gulf war I, followed by economic embargoes and no fly zones, culminating in the last decade of occupation, they have been in a state of war with us their entire lives. Also a pretty good chance someone in their extended family was one of the half a million children that hunger blockade killed. There is no possible way to ever win these people over to us. Ever. And any further involvement only makes it worse.
Yeah, we should've just bought the dictatorship's oil and gas and took all the orders military and infrastructure contracts without regard to how the dictatorship treated its people or neighbors. That's how France handled it and they're sophisticated Europeans.
We could have refused to sell them weapons but still sell them food.
Yep, humanitarianism. That's why the evil Saudi regime had to go. Oh wait... no, this was Iraq.
I'm sure the the millions of dead are glad they've been liberated from the terror of Saddam Hussein.
This comment supports the conclusion - voiced many times in this forum - that there has never been any desire to "win these people over to us." The goal is perpetual warfare. Getting hard to see how it's anything else. "Our" government is being run by psychopaths.

Great editorial. Thanks for sharing!
If you want to know how the US government feels about what Syrians think of intervention in their affairs, just ask yourself how the US government feels about what we think of the US government's intervention in our affairs.
Eternal war for an eternal peace. Too much money to be made to stop war. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan cost $6000 billion as compared to $738 billion for the Vietnam war in 2011 dollars. Someone will get very rich from eternal war and killing.
For three years, the US, along with the Gulf states and Turkey, poured billions into “opposition” groups, supposedly to unnamed “moderates,” but in reality to Al Qaeda-linked Sunni groups such as al-Nusra and ISIS to spearhead a sectarian war. The US, Turkey and Jordan have operated a base in Jordan where US instructors trained dozens of ISIS members. In an article last year, the New York Times confirmed that the CIA assisted Arab governments and Turkey by airlifting weaponry to these groups in Jordan and Turkey. The Guardian reported last March that British and French instructors were also involved.

war on terror will never end. it war programmed this way
Of course. Terror is a faceless, stateless enemy that can never surrender. So it will be an eternal war to control the populace and deprive it of fundamental rights and liberties - not that we have many left in the land of the free:
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.
H. L. Mencken
Nine elevs really was the dealing blow to civil liberties around the world. So many atrocities against humans in the name of defeating a concept. This will never end. It will dissolve us all slowly into the gut of an unquenchable beast.
Only way out is for everyone to collectively say "stop. that's enough."
The war on Poverty did even more damage, by building up dependence on the state, and dehumanizing tens of millions of people to the point that authorities needed to armor up and adopt better weapons and tactics. The war on drugs broke out some years later as a side effect of the war on poverty.
Yes, the war on drugs was just a warm up; a practice run of sorts.
Let us not forget that at the beginning of every major sporting event in the US they parade out the ginormous American Flag and show closeups of troops in uniform and have the jets and bombers fly overhead. Face it you are a warmongering race that takes every opportunity to display your war machinery and your devotion to the military.
I can not be led to believe that the American people do not support this barbarous inhuman behavior. When I see some booing or some other negative reaction by the people to these spectacles, then I might change my mind. Until then, your are all part of the problem.
If not for Zionazis maquerading as "Christian Zionists," there could not be endless wars in the USA. I blame these God forsaken scum more than any other single group, and for good reason. Because they are the largest such single group that universally foment and crave for war constantly and forever.
May every single one of them rot in hell forever.
Can we get a Fuck Yeah? We haven't decisively won a hot war AND made it stick since WWII. Would that we fought them like Patton and Nimitz and Eisenhower did back then. But we have a pussified anti American press corps, media and educational establishment, and so practice victory interuptus.
Ride bike. Grow food. Don't vote. Kill the TV. Keep one parent at home to care for and educate kid(s). Say no to handouts of any kind. Stand on your own two feet and don't relinquish an inch.
A good start to putting an end to the madness.
Sane words for a madhouse. Thanks amigo.
"A good start to putting an end to the madness."
Sorry, but I fail to see the logic. How do you put an end to the madness by doing nothing against it?
Answer to your question is in the text above what you quoted
If everybody follows this advice the parasites will evolve or starve.
Lea - "How do you put an end to the madness by doing nothing against it?"
These actions are the doing.
Riding a bike and growing your own food results in lower demand for oil, which lowers the leverage the oil/military/intelligence complex has against us.
And I tack on a few more things...well just because...oil/war isn't the only problem. Every individual makes choices and has a degree of power to cause great change. You don't have to publicly protest, or shout from the rooftops. You can make very subtle and quiet change under your own roof. If enough people take action, monumental and sweeping change will occur.
Why is the "madness" happening in the first place? It's happening because there are some very bad people becoming very wealthy and very powerful supplying a very strong demand for oil and gas. If you reduce the demand for oil and gas you reduce the influence these people have.
Practically this means reduce your personal demand for oil and gas.
How is the "madness" funded?
It's funded through taxation; income tax, sales tax, corporate taxes and inflation and through bond issuance; By the government going into debt.
Get off the web
It's one thing to view the madness from afar on the web and quite another to be sucked into it... BTW, how many airstrikes taking place in your neigborhood this week?
Absolutely do not get off the web. This is almost the only communications medium available to non-conformists.
Pretty much describes me, except for the one parent at home part.
When my kids were young I used to tell them that they were 'schooled' in the large building, but educated at home. I explained the difference. They are both bright and making their way mostly on their own terms now - neither is afraid of hard work.
Another important thing is to avoid the banking system as much as possible.
I have a credit union account and no credit card.
My belief is that they're using the ISIS threat as an excuse to get involved inside Syria. Cue a few 'mistakes' which hit Syrian forces, hoping for a reaction from Assad. If the provocation works than the Nobel Peace Laureate has the exuse to formally invade that country.
Of course this is the agenda, all orchestrated by the US handlers, the Saudis and Qatar... You must be new here...
So sorry Syrians, but France was traded for Syria and Van Rumpoy honored his side of the agreement. So you have to gtfo or get bulldozed.
May I suggest Paris?
Its all bullshit. Please don't blame the people of the US for our criminal government regime. Its too far gone for any sane citizen that's not caught up in the the NFL, Kardashians and "The Voice" to stop these criminal acts.
And therfore they shouldn't be blamed? ...
Aren't they the ones paying for all this?
do americans have a choice?
fight for your freedom like in Ferguson
Fergustan.
like in the occupy movement...
standing up to the bankers...
who is the root of all evil..
i remember ZH at that time, all the 'patriots' defending the banks here, calling occupy everything but a child of god...
like in fergesen...GOOD LUCK WITH THAT....
you are not better than your government so we will hang up you too, plz tell us your name, id, adress and where we can find you, thx
wow, talk about peace, love and understanding...
'so we will hang up you too....'
your statement is PURE EVIL, and i think you are mentally inbalanced, and i in no way will take responsibility for your 'issues'...for they belong to you, and you choose to be evil...may your god be merciful with your soul....
Occupy is a communist movment
Tell that to the old folks, the pilots, the off duty cops the unemployed the teachers and the students you fucking moron.
The ACTION is to stop depositing and providing funds to the TBTF banks. It's quite easy to do. Then they wouldn't be Too Big.
they did stop depositing money in the TBTF banks...
so they just got their money from the fed...
and no one went to jail....
In that case the Fed would just fire up the printers and generate negative deposit rates.
I have never defended the banks. But I did say many negative things about occupy. If those clowns wanna occupy something, they should go occupy the Ny fed and the Eccles building. They should also be occupying the capital building and the treasury. They see all these problems , and their answer is 'more govt' nevermind the fact that the govt/fed are just as much at fault. Find me a time in history when the answer to all our problems has EVER been more govt. Nothing the banks do would have been possible without the govt and the fed. And their answer to everything is to give the govt more power over everything and everyone. Their lists of demands were pure insanity. Moar socialism, less individual freedom. These people were and are another enemy of liberty, therefore I despise them almost as much as the banks.
at least they were in the streets protesting against the banks...
WHERE WERE YOU?
I was in the streets.
as was I
a street medic
You mean loot for your freedom?
They do. Every single day.
You are paing taxes to a criminal government, you are obey the law ?f criminal government and your pilots bomb Syria - so they have every right to blame the people of the US
I ain't paing no stinkin' taxes!
- Ned
If you can't beat the FSA, then join 'em! ?
"Please don't blame the people of the US for our criminal government regime."
You don't even hold peaceful protest marches, or call your Congressmen to stop the madness and start the process of impeachment. You do nothing. Nothing at all. So?
yeah, we stopped doing that after occupy...
computer accounts being hacked by 'agencies'
being attacked by those who protect and serve...
and politicians who are bought and paid for...
sure, they still protest, just no airtime from the media, who is bought and paid for...
There are no war protests agaist Dear leader. The protesters fear him because of his color
"Its all bullshit. Please don't blame the people of the US for our criminal government regime"
Yes its all bullshit, please don't blame the people of Germany for WW2, they had nothing to do with it....
You are in dinial, wake up and taste the red pill
Leaders always seem to lead people to wars.
No leaders - no wars.
Anarchism.
This indisciminate bombing of children is bad for American's image. They should instead send troops over to Syria so they can more accurately shoot ISIS children rather than more moderate children.
bombing women and children for profit. all so the price of oil stays high. im ashamed to be an american. how did we ever let that evil man, obama into office? god will punish.
Why just blame the current evil, it has taken a line of evil people to get you to where you are today, the real evil is that you did it willingly with circus and hoopdedoo, but do not feel you are alone in this stupidity, governments in most other countries are just as evil....
Right, because things were so much better under Bush 2, Clinton, Bush 1 and so on.
For fuck sakes man, because previous administrations were fuck-ups too does not excuse your continued fuck-upedness.

Someone ask Obama what the fuck the carbon footprint of this new war is going to be?
After looking and looking, I cannot find "executive order" anywhere in the Constitution.
http://constitutioncenter.org/constitution/full-text
Has to be me, as they sure push a lot of them out.
Can someone help me by finding where it is written in the Constitution and then sending me the reference?
Thanks.

I did find Treason:
SECTION. 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
Note: Two live witnesses wouldn't be alive long enough to make it to court.
I'm witness one. Who will make us two?

http://www.lawandliberty.org/above.htm
Constitution: Executive: Section 3: "he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed" That's it! Out of that they made the monster we enjoy today.
Executive Orders were internal to the various departments to fulfil that duty. Lincoln was the first to use them in a different manner when he waged war on the Confederate States turnung a voluntary union of these States united to a forced union of The United States. Roosevelt used them to declare emergency powers which exist nowhere in the constitution.
A good read (above the law) is at:
http://www.lawandliberty.org/above.htm
Edwin Viera has a book, "By Tyranny Out of Necessity" that pretty well explains Emergency Powers and Martial Governence... Extremely detailed, but a good read.
Bottom Line, they usurped the constitution and the Republic. Created a tryannical democracy. We are burnt toast.
EDIT: @lockandload.... Missed your reference to the same site.
A lot of those 'executive orders' look more like 'execution orders'
The end result is Syria getting rubble-ized just like Iraq and Afghanistan. Bldg sites look like construction zones whete the concrete tilt-up buildings and concrete hardscape getting ground up for recycling

You brought this on yourself for occupying Greater Israel's land and gas pipeline route.

Some have proposed various characters and even a back leaning italic font, but there are many technological hurdles to overcome.
Having at least once fallen victim to not accurately noting that I was being sarcastic, and having my message lost, or worse, misunderstood, I error on the side of caution.

We have learned nothing. When faced with unavoidable war, hit them back so hard that the outcome is quick and a signal to anyone else - endless entanglements are killing this country instead. If faced with terrorism get to the root and kill it before it spreads to every nut here or abroad. Until then mind our own fucking business!
And especially don't fund it.

Hey now... we CAN hold peaceful protests in "free speech zones". hahahahahaha
Congressman are bought and paid for by those who (s)elect them, not who elect them. Look up "deep capture" and how it applies to our (s)elected masters.
They won't impeach the untouchable one, that would obviously be racist.
Lea:"A good start to putting an end to the madness."
Sorry, but I fail to see the logic. How do you put an end to the madness by doing nothing against it?"
By defunding it and sidestepping the system.
How about by stepping out of the way and SUPPORTING Syrian government forces in their war on ISIS? That would work!
That this is not going to happen despite being the only logical way for the US to achieve it's stated objectives re. ISIS says buckets about what the real US motives are.
Personally I truly hope the US policy is as confused and hopeless as it appears to be, but like most ZH readers I expect it's far more devious than is showing, and am watching for the other shoe to drop.
I do however expect that, however devious and ingenious, the US policy will not turn out as intended. The reaction of the population in ISIS territory, reported here, gives a taste of why it won't work. Human beings, as individuals and in groups, no matter how you work at it, are not lab rats. Humans will form and nurture their own stories, and based on these will do the unexpected.
To bring about the undefined change, a majority of the dumbed down U.S. electorate chose the politically correct candidate who as it turns out is too incompetent in almost every way for the responsibility.
Countries have been lost for less reason.

No action simply doesn't work for anything else than your own peace of mind. Which is alright, but a) has its limits, b) won't help with the country problems.

But, but, but, some of them are wearing Hugo Boss and Old Navy T-Shirts.
Face it, there never has been and never will be true U.S. allies among the unwashed masses in the Middle East. There is only the occasional handful of allies of convenience for economic gain among the elites who care less about what happens to their unwashed masses than we do.
Big boys poker night:
I'll meet your Syria and ISIS cards, and raise you an Ebola and Ukraine card.
The goal of the US seems to be to destroy Syria so that it is weak and can go from being independent to dependent.
This is no different than the US plan for all of the other middle eastern countries.
Seemingly those in charge of the US do not care who they murder as long as they destroy the stability of the state.
"...Dempsey said that the endgoal is "to recapture lost territory in eastern Syria". Territory, which as we reported in July, amounts to 35% of Syria's landmass and includes most of its oilfields."
I assume this land area includes land suitable to construct the Qatar gas pipeline. It's also home to the Syrian oilfields, that's a bonus.
It's a slam dunk: (1) grab Assad's oilfields (2) bring Assad down by depriving him of oil revenues to maintain his army engaged in fighting Western-backed FSA/moderate rebels et al, and directly bombing him if necessary (3) build the Qatar gas pipeline across Syria without his permission (4) screw Putin into the bargain by reducing Europe's future dependency on Russian gas (5) possibly draw Iran and Russia into the fight so a wider proxy war can be waged to distract the world away from the bankrupt and collapsing American economy and resort by the Fed of turning the USD fiat into confetti.
Bombing the "good guys" in Syria as the videos depict is surely a price worth paying.

If ANY islamic cult worshipers are left alive they serve as the reservoir to restore the terrorists, so ALL must be eradicated, same as for insect carriers of deadly disease.
Use the most cost-effective area weapons, artillery barrages & waves of iron bombs to herd them into concentrations, then huge fuel-air bombs delivered by cheap solid-fuel rockets in-theater to destroy entire villages/towns/cities, then finish off survivors & fighters hiding in rubble with generous dose of nerve gas. Let nerve gas dissipate, then repopulate with civilized humans, eg Buddhists.
Imagine the world without islamic cult worshipers - no more mortar & rocket terror attacks, no more terror shootings & bombings (eg at marathons & shopping malls), no more terror kidnappings, no more terror hijackings, no more terror beheadings, no more beatings, torture, imprisonment & executions by islamic cult worshipers for not being properly islamic. Imagine being able to return to enjoyable air travel, as was true before the islamic cult worshipers started hijacking, bombing & crashing airplanes.
Clean up Mother Earth, eradicate them all, en masse using Weapons of Mass Cleansing.
At $1 million a Tomahawk, 47 fired off the first night let alone the price tag for all the lesser ordnance and later the reconstruction contracts paid for by IMF loans, monies going directly to U.S. contractors, debt going directly to the survivors....all this let alone the theft of energy resources and geo strategic maneuvering these actions will bring about means that profits are in the offing and your fucking little lives are actually a negative for the business plan. Nothing personnel, just business...
"For one, he announced that the US would require some 12,000-15,000 armed, trained and paid for boots on the ground, i.e., mercenaries to do Obama's dirty work on the ground because the Nobel peace prize winner is unwilling to go all the way with his belligerent pivot."...
It's like Rock Hudson or some "trans-gender" making a grand entrance to come out of the closet these past 3 years. The biggest announcement came last September when "Jon Boy" admitted that the U.S. had funding from the Saudi government to go to war with Syria and chided the military for not doing enough... They are candidly admitting to their treason by saying if the soldiers and marines won't sign up we'll give it to the Mercs 'R Us crowd at Blackwater and the tent dwellers will only be too happy to pay!...
In short the American Government and it's indifferent citizens "suck ass"!
Obama's foreign policy continues the long line of foreign policy errors, and blunders of the US. The truth is, the US doesn't really know who is really friendly toward the US, or who is not. It ain't like these people are close enough between US, and Syrian sides phyiscally high fiving each other and have chit-chat. Horrendous foreign policy. Apparently the administration is ignorant of rebels, and their intention as well. These "rebels" that the US helps have purportedly committed atrocities as well. Shows you how incompetent the US government and the American politicians are, but it seems Obama administration is more concerned attacking the strongest threat to US Federal Government interests (imperialism) than creating more terrorist out of supposed "friends" if you call it that. Horrible foreign policy from a man is who is horrible president.
Congratulations Mr. President on your efforts in upholding the "rule of law".
Mission Accomplished!!!
More treason-to-go
From anus and the mouth of Congressman Marlin Stutzman
While dropping bombs is probably not going to solve anything and will only reinforce the terrorists determination and increase their popularity in the region, there are approaches that could be effective.
1. Force SA and Qatar to stop financing extremism, whether it be for extremist religious cults and thieir schools, or direct monetary aid for military operations.
2. Force the Turks to close their porous border with Syria.
3. Cut off revenues from oil supplies held by terrorists.
4. Revoke citizenship of any western nationals who fight alongside terrorists.
5. Start infiltrating terrorist militias and terrorist cells. Much could be learned from the Israelies for this.
6. Get over hating the U.S. every time a terrorist cuts off a head. (See comments above.)
Bush the father bombed Iraq, Clinton bombed Iraq, G.W. Bush bombed Iraq. So Why not Obama? They did it all to protect the world from terrorism. It's something that comes with taking the oath of office.
I wonder when they they will stop bombing empyt buildings and go after syrian government and military with the Islamic Jihadists on the ground.
and how will this solve anything?
back a year or so ago when america, and the same coalition that now wants them gone, started funding, arming, and training, what now is isis.
there were many, many reports of syrian citizens, minding their own business, just trying to support, and feed their family, when this new isis org. were forcing them out of their homes, and demanding the men join to fight with them, or die, and women to submit to their wants, or die, and many died and families, and homes were bombed, even gased.
the poor eastern half of syria, and it's population have been invovled in a devistaing, destructive false-flag for over a year.
how many innocent people have to die, countries infrastucture, and their economic viablity destroyed, over a nat. gas line that will never be completed, or usable if completed.
