Martin Armstrong Warns The West "Sanctioning Russia Is A Big Mistake"

Tyler Durden's picture

Judging from the plunge in stocks and the Ruble and along with proclamations that Russia is "isolated" (when it is clearly not), The West's sanctions appear to be achieving their goals (propaganda-wise). However, Martin Armstrong warns "politicians just keep making the same mistakes over and over again," as he explains, to the people of Russia, "sanctions only make Putin stronger for they allow him to point to the West as the evil empire."

Via Armstrong Economics,

Politicians just keep making the same mistake over and over again.

MickyMouseClub

They perpetually turn to sanctions bankrupting private business with no respect whatsoever as the USA is wiping out farmers in Europe.

But worst of all, there is not a single incident where sanctions have EVER worked even once. They often remain in place beyond a decade even as in Iran, but there is no change in politics.

Sanctions only make Putin stronger for they allow him to point to the West as the evil empire that covertly toppled the Soviet Union with a CIA plot.

The most popular T-Shirt in Russia says: "This particular tree [which is also the name of a weapon] is not afraid of sanctions."

The one in the middle says: "Sanctions? Don’t make our Iskanders laugh" (Iskander SS-26 Stone is the missile system shown).

The Mickey Mouse Club would be nice if there were really qualified people instead of questionable lawyers.

Now that they've shaved, the three prettiest girls in Russia look, um, okay. But thank god they've got two full layers of clothes between their birthday suits and the eyes of their beholders.

The one in the center looks really smart as well.

"But worst of all, there is not a single incident where sanctions have EVER worked even once."

That's news to Nelson Mandela and me.

Learn something new every day. Of course, sometimes what I learn is that people think they are experts when in fact they are merely assertive amateurs.

i like the statement, no one will use nuclear weapons, i'm over 60, and i full well expect some sort of limted nuclear device will be detonated in america in my life-time, i'm hoping i'm gone before the balistic, and icbm caliber nuclear weapons are used.

i'm assuming if they asked a suicide bomber if he would carry suitcase with a nuclear devise, instead of that heavy explosive suitcase, he'd probably wouldn't argue.

america has been using the nuclear economic weapons on it's own citizens, to destroy their rights, and lively-hoods for yrs..

i'm not a russian cheerleader, but i'm amazed at people trashing russia, while they watch the fed., and american politicians doing everthing possible to turn america into russia.

It is Russian policy to use limited tactical Battlefield Nukes rather than just allow itself to be overrun and invaded, the west understands this, it is people who believe that Russia would NOT use battlefield Nukes to prevent itself being invaded and will just allow its forces to be slaughtered that have not thought the situation through.

Russia relies on the Wests understanding that Russia will resort to Nukes as part of its deterrent policy, when the West stops believing that and starts believing its own 'Russia would never use Nukes' propaganda that the situation becomes the most dangerous.
