Two Ships Collide In Suez Canal
One would think that the world's most important artificial waterway has working traffic lights and proper transit control. One would be wrong.

According to Egypt's Al-Ahram website, two container ships collided on Monday morning in Egypt's Suez Canal.
The German Colombo Express was coming in from the Mediterranean Sea when it hit the Singaporean ship Maersk Tanjong half a kilometre from the Port Said port, Al-Ahram said.
Both ships sustained minimal damage; four containers fell into the canal, which the Canal Authority retrieved. Navigation along the canal was temporarily interrupted for three hours.
The SCA sent vessels to lead both ships to the Al-Balah bypass so they could continue their journeys.
Ok, we get airplanes slamming into each other: 3 dimensions, clouds, all that. But two ships, sailing at a few knots, in water as smooth as glass, with virtually unlimited visibility... ?
And in other news, if ISIS had any doubts about how to adversely impact the world in the most actue manner, especially after the recent article "ISIS' Next Target: The Suez Canal", all such doubts should be gone now. Assuming, of course, ISIS actually is what the western media wants everyone to believe it is.

They collided before getting there. Not "IN THE CANAL."

Stuff will happen in 2014 that no ever expected ... even as crazy as the CRAZYMAKERS have been.
detective Colombo to the rescue ....
For those wondering what happen to your Swedish male enlarging pumps they are now at the bottom of the Suez...... If that's your thing ... baby
Putin is ultimately morally responsible for making the ships collide. Just ask Psaki.
My gold coins were in one of those containers..., damn!
Blame it on the 'Space Bubbles"... again.
Someone saw the bottom coming up (was he out of the channel?) and needed to avoid running aground...perhaps easier and less expensive to hit the other ship and blame the other captain for not leaving him (the ship on the right) adequate space in the channel when passing him on the left.
See you in court!
i hate the russian people so much.
that cocksucker putin is to blame for the loss of my penile enlarging meat pump.
fuck the russian military industrial complex we need are pumps godamit
sisi the jewish fella that runs egypt should get some mossad scuber divers in the water asap this should be top priority even more important than sealing up all the food tunnels going to gaza.
Just a fender-bender.
These ships also take about 1 mile to stop or turn.
Throw that in with a lackadaisical capitan, spotty radar, and probably a drunk pilot, and voila
Uhhh...that would typically be at least SEVEN miles to stop...
Look at the loading on the Colombo Express- right up to the wheelhouse! It's a wonder the captain and helmsman could see anything... oh, wait...
Did they have pilots aboard?
"Look at the loading on the Colombo Express- right up to the wheelhouse! It's a wonder the captain and helmsman could see anything... oh, wait..."
Cargo. Armor. We're talking about Egypt in 2014. I'd be stacking them over the wheelhouse and installing periscopes.
Perhaps if they just cut the engines. Please post a link to your source.
A Swedish product traveling through the Suez Canal to get to America? No wonder those things cost so much.
When the Russians come out and say this dierectly then there will be a scandal. Some crackpot web page doesn't help very much in revealing the truth
I want to believe. I want to see the hard evidence though. This isn't it.
You'll be waiting a long time. All the "hard evidence" was carted away and destroyed after the attacks.
If you actually bother to read the contents of the link, you might learn something new. The photographs of melted bedrock granite beneath the foundations of the towers is pretty interesting photographic evidence that I had never seen before.
It was stored on the hard drives at the IRS.
Agree. Shit like this looks like it is deliberately designed to "discredit" 9/11 false flag claims, not support them.
If the so called "truth" were to come out, they would not frame it like that.
Lol, "crackpot". What makes that web page any more or less "crackpot" than any other 9/11 page?
When all the primary evidence has been destroyed, all we have left are photographic evidence, eyewitness accounts, theories, and hypotheses. One would do well to consider ALL of it, if one is actually curious to find the truth.
"Truth is indeed stranger than fiction. Fiction has to make sense!"
Should be titled, Alternative History.
And the captain should be nominated for the Schettino award
They're (VT) really pushing this "9/11 nukes" CRAP.
Evidence, god damn it, not conjecture.
HOW it was exactly done is secondary to THAT it was done, which is proven.
I stopped reading it when they showed metamorphisized granite as proof of a nuke. No fracturing of the bedrock, but all smooth as in weathering due to water erosion. If a nuke was able to put that much pressure on the granite, there would be large fractures and tons of junk imbedded in it due to the speed of the heating.
As usual with 911 stuff, you have to pick through shit looking for half a peanut.

"As usual with 911 stuff, you have to pick through shit looking for half a peanut."
Classic pods, pods.
Trying to poison the well with nonsense so that nobody will listen to the real story.
"but all smooth as in weathering due to water erosion. "
So THAT is your explanation? I wonder how a few million years of water erosion was accomplished in a matter of weeks?
You sound like you are some kind of authority on underground nuclear explosions. Why don't you enlighten us further. Or are those just mindless speculations?
I for one don't profess to know anything about the physics of underground nuclear explosions. But I get mighty curious when I see granite like that. Pictures like that DEMAND an explanation.
I can better that - remember u heard it here 1st - climate change
truthseeker2 is the kind of typical random account you see on oh so many websites...posting some random link you know says some outrageous bullshit and then you ask yourself
is there a paid army of people posting links to 'alternative' conspiracy theories so outrageous as to make convnetional skepticism look like it is part of the stupidity they are selling.
i mean, there are some obvious conspiracies out there. 9/11 being one. and yet, year after year, i see accounts like truthseeker2. who is paying these people?
9/11 ; godzilla did it!!!
9/11 ; the moon men did it!!!!!
9/11 was a nuclear bomb!!!!!
SHUT UP YOU FUCKERS.
You got it. The point of a good disinformation campaign is always to mix real factual information with total bullshit (like the nukes).
Non thinking people will automaticly associate the good infromation with the bullshit and thus discard everything.
How is the nuclear explanation "total bullshit" compared to alternative explanations? They all seem to have their strengths and weaknesses. The nuclear and DEW theories seem to account for more of the unexplained phenomena than the thermite theories. One point made in the web page cited above was, why couldn't all three methods have been used? Triple-redundancy might seem like a good idea when mounting an operation as large as 9/11.
I have said this before, but I will say it again-- I find it odd how several ZHers have such a knee-jerk response to particular 9/11 theories.
Truthseeker,
That's not melted granite. That's glacially scoured mica schist. The same f-ing bedrock beneath the majority of Manhattan.
Metamorphic processes (heat and pressure) caused the deformation of the rock and glacial processes carved, scoured and smoothed the rock surface. The pothole in the bedrock surface was probably caused my sub-glacial streams and plunge pools.
I guess Geology 101 wasn't your strong suit, but in case you're interested in the truth about the bedrock, here's a nice scientific paper (unlike that shit blog you're promoting) with the real story of the bedrock. Note the glacial till in the photos. Are you sugessting that a nuclear explosion rounded those boulders too?
https://dspace.sunyconnect.suny.edu/bitstream/handle/1951/47900/moss-09....
As Journey once sang. "Don't stop believing"
I got issues with the nuke theory. The building did not drop as I would expect it would if a nuke went off in the basement.
That said. The jet fuel theory is even more far fetched.
I do believe in the thermite theory weakening the structures.
This BS about nano nukes is so far down the rabbit hole you'd have to smoke an ounce of Cindy 99 to even start to believe that nonesense.
I hear you bro, we have a big problem with termites down under here as well, they can topple anything.
Isn't there supposed to be a big friendly mushroom shaped cloud and instant xrays available for on lookers?
Bunghole, that paper you cited would be a lot more interesting and credible if it had been published BEFORE 9/11. Instead, it looks like a cover up job. The paper's underlying premise seems to be that what was found under the WTC complex was REVEALED by 9/11...not CAUSED by 9/11.
Doesn't that assumption bother you in any way?
Also, whether it is granite or mica schist-- it's still a huge fucking amount of hard rock.

"I lost all my gold in a tragic boating accident in the Suez Canal." Somebody had to say it.
You too. You hit me (or I hit you) so that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I'm calling dibs on a Panama Canal boat sinking with Gold on-board!
You hit my boat!
Substance abuse and Slalom Boating will do that to you.
Red, right (starbord), returning. Or something like that.
Red on the right when returning from the sea. But these are BIG BOY boats. Probably gotta line them up single file, spaced apart safely. Kind of like lining up airplanes for landing at a busy airport. But with about as much ability to stop or turn them as doing air traffic control of glaciers.
"Red on the right..." Yours or mine?
All rules of piloting are written so you apply them to your own perspective.
Red on the right for the inbound vessel is red of the left for the outboud vessel. It works from either captains' perspective.
Except that is just in the US. The rest of the world it is backwards.
pods
No no no, your other right!
what! my left, right? or my right left?... i don't have another right, just the one opposite my left, so is it left right or right left?
I've mentioned before on this site before that I'm an Annapolis grad and a winged Navy Helicopter Pilot. On that authority, I declare that I have absolutely NO BLEEPING IDEA how the hell two ships at sea can collide. Even if we consider that larger vessels are a bit more restricted in their ability to maneuver than John Kerry's sailboat, you still have all this technology - GPS, surface-search radar, remotely-operated cameras, harbor pilots, etc. - that should make collisions at sea impossible.
One of the more hysterical conversations you will ever hear will occur between a group of Navy Pilots and a group of Navy Surface Warfare Officers (ship-drivers) discussing how it is even possible for collisions at sea to happen. For the pilots, things happen so much faster; and you have only seconds to react to incoming traffic. It is simply unfathomable to us as a group that the SWOs can't make a correction to avoid collision when you have minutes to react, rather than seconds.
"Oh my God!!! We're gonna collide!!! In an hour!!!"
.
"Oh no. I'm about to crash my slow-mobile"
"While you're crashing, can you ..."

Just tried looking for a link but it was too hard.
Congratulations Futurama and YouTube. You successfully prevented me from sharing a 20 second snippet to copyrighted material which could easily be interpreted as a failed attempt at free advertising for the whole episode. Meanwhile, those who download entire episodes can do so at will. Winning.
"I've mentioned before on this site before that I'm an Annapolis grad and a winged Navy Helicopter Pilot. On that authority, I declare that I have absolutely NO BLEEPING IDEA how the hell two ships at sea can collide."
Asian helmsman. Arab pilot. What could go wrong?
When do we bomb those ships? Roll out the retired generals on CNN!!!!!
Surprised it doesn't happen more often given how busy it is.
"Ok, we get airplanes slamming into each other: 3 dimensions, clouds, all that. But two ships, sailing at a few knots, in water as smooth as glass, with virtually unlimited visibility... ?"
They stop about as well as a 2 mile long freight train. They turn about as fast, too. (Yes, I'm aware trains ride on rails and have no ability to turn themselves). They likely knew the collision was unavoidable for 10 minutes before they actuall hit.
"They likely knew the collision was unavoidable for 10 minutes before they actuall hit."
The ultimate OMG moment.

Love that quote.
NoDebt, I'm glad to see someone gets it. It's amazing that this does not happen more often.
The slower/lower power settings these guys operate at, their handling deteriorates even more, due to reduced water flow across the rudder(s).
Dealing with tonnage, most people don,t realize that when they think a crash has happened, it is really just getting started good.
I'm guessing the captains of the vessels had long enough to put in their orders to short the S&P and get a confirm back from E*Trade on their smart phones before collision.
False flag?
Yeah, somebody isn't going to get their iCrap order fulfilled.
Was Joseph Hazelwood piloting one of the ships?
Sleeping one off in his cabin.
And he was a known alkie with rights to the job. He was in rehab for what that is worth to xom
I said Tanqueray on the rocks, not tanker on the rocks!
Figures one of them would have an Asian driver.
Columbo Express? Didn't Peter Falk have only one eye?
Colliding ships are usually due to captain error/incompetence, not inadequate traffic control. After watching the video it's clear that the captain of the dark hulled ship is incompetent. He was about to hit a reef on his starboard side which he should have seen charted way in advance. He therefore chose to turn hard to port to avoid the reef at the last minute and thought he could probably pass astern of the light colored vessel. Also he was aggressively trying to pass the light colored vessel earlier. This has nothing to do with inadequate traffic control.
So your saying he is a bit of a hoon, pedal to the metal, I think I saw some go faster decals on the side of the dark hulled boat and I bet he has fluffy dice hanging on the bridge.
What do you yell right before you hit the other boat.....Remember the Titanic....Captain you got some splanin to do....
Fahrfergnuggenschlangenheitsverbundinganschaung!!!!!!
I am sure it was ISIS
As my luck goes..it was probably my container at the point of impact....
Google boats.
Singaporeans can't drive for shit.
The captain said, "Bring me my binoculars." Then he said, "Bring me my brown pants."
Did these two ships in the night know each other and were dating? Or is this just another one night stand not to happen again? Enquiring minds would like to know.
www.traderzoo.mobi
If this had happened in the USA the Coast Guard would have shut down the canal for 3 weeks to conduct the investigation and retrieve the 4 containers from the waterway. A couple Billion would have been spent on the "clean up".
In this incident, traffic returned to normal in 3 hours. Whouda' thunk?
Texting while driving is dangerous.
the pilots were busy exchanging cigarettes.....
Finally, we get a real black swan. Drudge missed this important story.....Coincidence? Ha, I think not!
This is what happens when you let the 'Valet Boy' park your ship...
Amazon drone ships.
to my untrained eye, looked like the ship on the right rammed the other ship on purpose (that or he simply ran out of room and decided grounding himself on the beach and getting the entire shipment of cargo delayed/stuck was worse then contacting the other ship, and damaging SOME of the shipment but being on time).
No biggie. When I was a kid the ships in my bathtub used to have much worse collisions.
Yeah, if they built ships out of the same material as your bathtub boats they would just bounce of each other.
Ships don't stop real well. Especially if they're REALLY big like super tankers like the Exon Valdez in Alaska in 1989. The Exon Valdez knew he was going to hit 30 minutes prior to the strike that resulted in an envioremental disaster wihich the role of Escort Tugs was developed to mitigate.
Escort tugs are brakes for big ships when operating in confined areas that they could get into trouble if they experience a mechanical failure like loss of steering or propulsion. We don't know what happened in this incident to cause the contact, but obviously the ships couldn't stop or manuevour in time.
Although this incident did not involve tankers which the "escort tug" requirement was developed for, the laws of physics of "ships don't stop real quick" still apply.

two ships collide in suez canal??? both captains must have been "penis touchers." it wasn't by accident. they touched on purpose.
