Doctor Boards Atlanta Flight In HazMat Suit To Protest "Lying CDC"

Tyler Durden's picture

"If they're not lying, they are grossly incompetent," said Dr. Gil Mobley, a microbiologist and emergency trauma physician from Springfield, Mo. as he checked in and cleared Atlanta airport security wearing a mask, goggles, gloves, boots and a hooded white jumpsuit emblazoned on the back with the words, "CDC is lying!" As The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, Mobley says the CDC is "sugar-coating" the risk of the virus spreading in the United States.

As The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports,

A Missouri doctor Thursday morning boarded a plane at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport dressed in full protection gear to protest what he called mismanagement of the crisis by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Dr. Gil Mobley checked in and cleared airport security wearing a mask, goggles, gloves, boots and a hooded white jumpsuit emblazoned on the back with the words, “CDC is lying!”

“If they’re not lying, they are grossly incompetent,” said Mobley, a microbiologist and emergency trauma physician from Springfield, Mo.

Mobley said the CDC is “sugar-coating” the risk of the virus spreading in the United States.

“For them to say last week that the likelihood of importing an Ebola case was extremely small was a real bad call,” he said.

“Once this disease consumes every third world country, as surely it will, because they lack the same basic infrastructure as Sierra Leone and Liberia, at that point, we will be importing clusters of Ebola on a daily basis,” Mobley predicted. “That will overwhelm any advanced country’s ability to contain the clusters in isolation and quarantine. That spells bad news.”

...

Mobley, a Medical College of Georgia graduate who had an overnight layover after flying to Atlanta from Guatemala on Wednesday...

“Yesterday, I came through international customs at the Atlanta airport,” the doctor told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “The only question they asked arriving passengers is if they had tobacco or alcohol.”

ebola, for the time being, looks like a staged psy-op...  first there is the timing.  second, too many contradictions with how it supposedly spreads, what the symptoms are, and how few people are coming down with it.    way to easy to fake.

+1 for somebody trying to bring this to the masses attention.

This is beginning to penetrate the tv-mindnumbing-shroud most people exist in.  A co-worker talked about this at work on Oct 1st, 2014.  That was the first time anybody has mentioned this topic anywhere around me.  Zerohedge has covered this for over 6 months.

My co-worker parroted the CDC, "extremely hard to transmit" line and that it 'could be handled by washing hands' but it's the first time somebody around me has become aware of Ebola and mentioned it.

That was my litmus test for me to know that: shit must be getting real.

Stocked up and ready to disappear in the midwest!!

For the sake of story completion, let us note that our western doctor hero is gonna go to his job and prescribe some fool some bigPharma pills, and ask if the guy owns guns.

p.s. it's the trauma physician part of him that will do that. The microbiologist part of him is a labrat.

Understood - I'm not saying bigPharm pills don't deliver the punch when needed, but that's only a very small subset of the entire pharma industry's output that serves the benevolent life-saving usage. A buddy of mine ended up in a 'emergency trauma' case. Motherfuckers fed him a drug called "Norcos" - they don't even hide the name anymore. He was unable to make his own decisions with fluidity under the influence of this drug. They asked/gave him a flu shot - he's never gotten one before. This year he got the flu.

So fuck that, and fuck anyone who thinks that all these doctors are doing are anything more than following orders and protocol.

From August 24:

"... Assurances that Ebola can be transmitted only through direct contact with bodily fluids need to be seriously scrutinized in the wake of the West Africa outbreak.

The Canadian Health Department states that airborne transmission of Ebola is strongly suspected and the CDC admits that Ebola can be transmitted in situations where there is no physical contact between people, i.e.: via direct airborne inhalation into the lungs or into the eyes, or via contact with airborne fomites which adhere to nearby surfaces. That helps explain why 81 doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers have died in West Africa to date. These courageous healthcare providers use careful CDC-level barrier precautions such as gowns, gloves, and head cover, but it appears they have inadequate respiratory and eye protection. Dr. Michael V. Callahan, an infectious disease specialist at Massachusetts General Hospital who has worked in Africa during Ebola outbreaks said that minimum CDC level precautions

“led to the infection of my nurses and physician co-workers who came in contact with body fluids.”

...We know that airborne transmission of Ebola occurs from pigs to monkeys in experimental settings. We also know that healthcare workers like Dr. Kent Brantly are contracting Ebola in West Africa despite CDC-level barrier protection measures against physical contact with the bodies and body fluids of Ebola victims, so it only makes sense to conclude that some -- possibly many -- of these doctors, nurses, and ancillary healthcare workers are being infected via airborne transmission...."

"In a whistleblower disclosure document obtained by National Review Online, the agent alleges that the federal government knowingly transported illegal immigrants to facilities that were unequipped to process them; disregarded repeated warnings from a Border Patrol agent about the public-health risks posed by the immigrants, many of whom were suffering from infectious diseases; rejected multiple offers of assistance from local officials; and suspended law-enforcement operations at part of America’s southern border while denying a congressman’s repeated requests for information about the government’s plan to process the immigrants and about the startling events unfolding in his district."

read this with bleeding eyes:

"Instead of being quarantined, illegal border crossers are being dispersed rapidly across the U.S., with those of school age being registered in public schools opening soon for all.”

Oddly enough, the outbreak of the enterovirus D68 epidemic that has now killed at least four people and paralyzed at least 11 children (and counting) coincided with the arrival, and placement in American schools, of some 36,000+ illegal alien children – few of whom received any health screening and who were in fact mandated to be accepted without health screening by the Obama administration.

As our friends at Judicial Watch observed, the administration has worked hard to keep information about the public health threat caused by the Obama open borders policy a secret, though some of it is slowly leaking out. And it is leaking out, we believe, in large measure because the Obama administration can no longer cover-up the body count, especially among children, that is the inevitable result of opening our borders and then intentionally dispersing public health threats throughout the country."

Trying to inform the lay public about the life sciences is akin to my son telling me about the large section on quantum mechanics in his PhD thesis.   I'd like to know but realize that, since I only had math through differential equations and that was many years ago, I'll never really grasp it properly.

Riddle me this, Batman. The family of Mr. Duncan (in Dallas) has been served with a notice to stay in place during the estimated incubation period. Let's say, for the sake of discussion, that one of the four people does show symptoms of EBV. Here's where it gets interesting:

1.  If you were one of the 3 remaining (so far) non-symptomatic family members, would you stay in the apartment?

2.  You've been threatend with arrest if you leave the apartment, but it's a death sentence to stay. Where do you think the holding cell will be for anyone leaving the apartment?

3.  Imagine that a couple of the >80 people under watch in the Dallas area begin to show symptoms. Will they be required to stay in place?

We saw in West Point (Monrovia, Liberia) that many people will not simply stay in place when told. This will be particularly true for the entitled, exceptional members of the FSA. Even if you, as a thoughtful and prepared person, manage to avoid EBV carriers you will, at some point, have to come back into the public realm -- for food, fuel, etc. At that point you will be exposed.

Go buy your hazmat suit and respirator. It won't make any difference. You face this now or later, that is your only choice. I'm leaning towards living my life as I don't think there are any preps that a 99%-er can make that would actually be effective.

By the way, what do you think the other tenants in the building have been told about their neighbors?

During the Avian Flu crisis/scare in 2005-2006, airport security in Hong Kong and Taiwan used IR cameras on tripods, and they looked at the false-color thermal images of people's faces, to spot the one with a fever.  You can set up the SW, to trigger thresholds of (say) 100 deg.F.  You will not want to run to catch that flight, or you and your hot sweaty butt will be detained.

No reason they could not use the same tech in the US.

HERE

From the News-Gazette:

MONTICELLO — A Champaign tuberculosis patient under a court order to stay home is in jail in Piatt County.

Christian Mbemba Ibanda, 24, of 100 Kenwood Road, C, has been under a Champaign County court order since April 11 to remain confined to his apartment to keep from infecting others with his disease, and a petition for indirect criminal contempt of court for failing to follow court orders was filed against him Thursday.

Deputies arrested Ibanda at his apartment Thursday. At a hearing held at the Piatt County Jail Tuesday with his lawyer present, he denied the allegations. A hearing on the petition has been scheduled for May 5 before Champaign County Associate Judge Chase Leonhard.

Ibanda is incarcerated in Piatt County because its jail has a negative pressure room that doesn’t share the air with other people, according to Champaign County Sheriff Dan Walsh. Champaign County is paying $50 a day plus medical costs to keep Ibanda in that jail, he said.

In a similar case in 2009, another Champaign TB patient was in court-ordered isolation for about six weeks and, after a year of therapy, he was cured of TB, Pryde said.

At the time, that little asshole was my fucking neighbor!! Call your county jail and ask if they have a negative pressure room.

Yes, you have to go into the public realm to purchase fuel, food, etc. What you have now is a chance to prep so that you can delay going back into the public realm.

I have to live with a sister who is going on 350lbs, if not 400lbs, who thinks it is perfectly fine to steal food and run around telling everyone I'm a mad prepper (for the yuks, y'know).

So I've got a secondary location I'm starting to stock. I've got a mother to look after who I will not abandon to the sister. I've got a sister to terrorize into understanding that there is shit I will not put up with from her.

And when Mom drops dead, I'm outta there so fast ... ebola or no ebola.

I don't know if I should give up my 2008 Corolla (reliable little beauty is that car) for the RAV4 now, in case I have to trek across the country.

My brother is reliable, but is across the country on the other coast. If I can book outta where I currently am, and get to him, I will do so. The sister is not only unreliable, but in a crisis, will become dangerous.

But let's say me, mom, and the sister weather this well and come out intact on the other side. The country has seen a death toll of 40%, in some areas only 30%. Will getting replacement parts become difficult? Will it be wise to have a newer RAV4, or keep the old Corolla (currently at 185,000km)?

What do I want to get in now that might be hard to get, or impossible to get later on?

Agree, the notion of effective quarantine for the exposed or sick is pure fiction if this thing goes even a little bit geometric.  Where everyone should be focusing is on effective, durable self-quarantine.  Disagree with the premise this is impossible, at least in rural areas where wild game and plants are available.  My family has dried/canned food supplies for several months, and we have the means and access to foraging, hunting, and growing our food.  Further, we've worked our way into the community.  These folks dont travel out-of-state much, and everyone knows everyone.  What will happen is that humans will form the equivalent of 'closed herds' of cows raised for medical collagen.  In a world with Ebola, you dont want to be in close quarters to the infected.  In a small town, isolated, rural scenario, this becomes less of problem, just like serial monogamy reduces the risk of STD transmission.

Thoughtful response, thanks. As to your comment, "Disagree with the premise this is impossible, at least in rural areas where wild game and plants are available" you should review history of Spanish Flu. Every part of the globe was touched, and that was in an age without air travel.

Also review the history of the black plague in Europe as the elite holed up for years to avoid contact, yet many succumbed upon venturing back into the towns as pockets of disease remained.

Total avoidance, for the rest of your life, is a daunting logistical problem.

"Go buy your hazmat suit and respirator. It won't make any difference."

That is a nice philosophical thought, and it is actually literally true.

If ebola is spread by droplets (hint: it is in animals, so it probably is in humans to), then you would need a simple fasemask (i.e. droplet precautions); adding a "respirator" (which is used for airborne precautions) will indeed not make any difference. Droplets and airborne each have a distinct meaning when it comes to precautions, and that meaning seems to be lost on the people who keep talking about ebola "going airborne." Ebola is not airborne; it is spread by droplets.

Ebola is actually not that easy to catch. Do you know how I know for certain? Because there are not tens of thousands of dead bodies on the street in Lagos, Nigeria right now. Ebola landed in a place more crowded than NYC, with much worse health infrastructure, and the world didn't end.

The TOP hospitals in Africa are equal to some of the good hospitals in the USA (The TOP Ones)

So It must be just a coincidence... that Kerry and Frieden are allowing them to come here... They know best - WTF ?

and with Secretary of State (The USA State Dept) John Kerry as Israeli American working to leaving our Southern Borders open and allowing untold numbers of illegal immigrants to cross... and with almost ALL Israeli American Congressman and those in the State Dept are PRO Amnesty for illegal immigrants... is this NOT working out well for our country ???

They got sick inhaling someone elses fluid when in range of a sneeze or cough.  I do not know what the life of the virus is once in the body fluids once someone sneezes but if it is anything like hepatitus we are screwed with a disease like Ebola.

I realize you are replying to someone else, but I too will disappear in the midwest. My home has been designated bugout central for a small group of people. My stepson (ex-Navy corpsman) and I talked about this scenario before. We then talked to some of his ex-marine buddies he knows. They will be heading over as well. All excellent shots. And all of them have a lot of weapons. Oddly enough, the nearby town, is where one of the grandmasters of the KKK lives. They hold rallies there on occasion. Don't think the Klan hasn't thought about this scenario. They have.

Pandemics have ways of not working out for elites.  Even if this were human caused, anything that would knock several billion of us off of this rock would permanently change the power structures on this planet.  The survivors would have been exposed to the threat of death to the point that they are numb to it and their labor would carry enough value that elites would actually have to play ball with them, but they wouldn't have to play ball with the elites.

certainly a great way to get attention, but, consider the motivation from another angle...  is this really about warning of a legitimate threat, or spreading fear through propaganda?  hard to say.
