Doctor Boards Atlanta Flight In HazMat Suit To Protest "Lying CDC"

Tyler Durden's picture

"If they're not lying, they are grossly incompetent," said Dr. Gil Mobley, a microbiologist and emergency trauma physician from Springfield, Mo. as he checked in and cleared Atlanta airport security wearing a mask, goggles, gloves, boots and a hooded white jumpsuit emblazoned on the back with the words, "CDC is lying!" As The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, Mobley says the CDC is "sugar-coating" the risk of the virus spreading in the United States.

As The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports,

A Missouri doctor Thursday morning boarded a plane at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport dressed in full protection gear to protest what he called mismanagement of the crisis by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Dr. Gil Mobley checked in and cleared airport security wearing a mask, goggles, gloves, boots and a hooded white jumpsuit emblazoned on the back with the words, “CDC is lying!”

“If they’re not lying, they are grossly incompetent,” said Mobley, a microbiologist and emergency trauma physician from Springfield, Mo.

Mobley said the CDC is “sugar-coating” the risk of the virus spreading in the United States.

“For them to say last week that the likelihood of importing an Ebola case was extremely small was a real bad call,” he said.

“Once this disease consumes every third world country, as surely it will, because they lack the same basic infrastructure as Sierra Leone and Liberia, at that point, we will be importing clusters of Ebola on a daily basis,” Mobley predicted. “That will overwhelm any advanced country’s ability to contain the clusters in isolation and quarantine. That spells bad news.”

...

Mobley, a Medical College of Georgia graduate who had an overnight layover after flying to Atlanta from Guatemala on Wednesday...

“Yesterday, I came through international customs at the Atlanta airport,” the doctor told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “The only question they asked arriving passengers is if they had tobacco or alcohol.”

It seems CDC Director Frieden agrees...

It's not just the CDC.  It's a culture in Federal Government -- a work environment where doing the minimum necessary is fully acceptable; where self-interest is the guiding motivation; where entitlement as a sustainable philosophy exists; and where consequences for making mistakes reach heights of putting a letter into a filing cabinet that no one will ever see or act upon.

Sorry .gov workers -- you're inept.  All of you.  Each an every one.  If you were good enough to compete and thrive in the private sector, you would have made that move a long time ago.  But you're not, and no degree of arm flailing or internet postings is going to change that very observable fact.

Yep, it's the Peter Principle.  People in hierarchical structures get promoted until they reach the level of their incompetence...and their they sit.  So all hierarchical structures are incompetent.

Applies to big business, government, beaurocracies, most bloody anything.  But particularly to government....

that, and "need to know" basis-hierarchy, plus collusion with such august institutions as the AMA - just another mafia profiteering gig, based on memorising a certain perspective, and excluding everything that doesn't "fit" - including the mandatory uniforms, awarded upon debt-paid for Job Title.  there's yer tell. . .

don't believe me?  is the .gov in the service of mandatory enlisting all amrkn peoples to get their shots/pills from the holy MDs?

We don't need some overeducated egotistical DR to know the government agency is wrong?  Anyone with a brain knows CDC is talking theoretically and even that is designed to be politically correct.

The local Hospital took the information that this disease courier told them that he was just coming from West Africa and they lost that info after it had been given to the Nurse.  SO Hospital procedures and technology in a hospital in TX caused this walking and flying disease courier to be sent home so that he could infect others.

Stop hiding Technologically Luddite DR errors that could have stopped this.  As a 30 yr practicing DR, you are probably more of the Technology problem than of any solution...

There is too much government mandated data that must be collected on each patient, making a quick assessment and triage determination impossible.  Pages of crap on every chart that has nothing to do with the presenting problem and possible cause.  It's the complext data dump that nurses are being forced to collect in the triage area that is making the ER far more complex and complicated to take quick effective action.  Somewhere in the masses of computer screens was the information that this patient had recently traveled from Africa.   The admission clerk thought the tech communicated  it, the tech thought the nurse communicated it, the nurse thought the doctor understood it.  And the patient certainly thought that someone might have been listening to him.  In fact, everyone was so busy looking at their "high tech" computer screens that no one really understood the problem at all.

I am a former ER nurse.  This summer I took my daughter to a small ER for an ankle injury.  The nurse spent most of her time, looking at a computer screen, trying to fill in all the data questions during the inital interview.  She rarely looked directly at my daughter, let alone her swollen ankle.  The nurse's eyes were glued to the screen asking so many inane and intimate questions about her personal life, including, the government mandated questions about "domestic violence," guns in the home, alcohol use etc (my daughter asked the nurse, "Does anyone really answer truthfully?) At the end of the data inquisition, she finally looked at my daughter's ankle and asked her if she wanted ice on it.  No kidding, her next question was, "Would you mind walking to X-ray?" It's these total morons who are triaging for Ebola?  They are so obsessed with filling in the data lines (all charts are audited for completeness) that they have forgotten to look at the patient and their presenting symptoms and actually think about what they are seeing, and listening to what the patient is telling them.  Imagine handing your young child over to these idiots to manage their "quarantine" period.  P

This summer, I took my 4 1/2 yr old daughter in to the combination ER/Urgent care at our local hospital. I waited till last second to get her last shots before school started as I dont like them at all but if u allow first one on day she is born, you must get them all unless a doc signs off an exemption here in ND. She had gotten two vaccines the day before,  MMR and Chicken  pox and was having a bad reaction...her arm had a large, expanding red circle on it and a 1.5 inch wide, 1/4 inch tall blister over the injection site. The triage nurse filled out all the computer forms 'correctly' and sent us into the urgent care. When I got bill, I was surprised to see 'reaction to medication' listed as the culprit, not vaccine reaction....I guess so they don't have to report it as a vaccine reation.  So the visit to get the shot? Free...the urgent care, and two subsequent doc visits the next few days? over a thousand. Blue Cross paid about 900, and I was billed about160. Nope, nothing wrong with the 'best medical system in the world' s/ I did file a VAERS report for the reaction tho..doctors all said they had never seen a large blister form on a shot before. She seemed after a week tho, but will have a scar there the rest of her life

The incompetence and lack of trust in all government agencies, big business and the media is driving the panic.  One man is able to shut down 1/3 of air traffic at O'Hara and Midway? The once highly respected Secret Service is dysfunctional.  The VA system is in shambles, the CDC looses deadly samples, the Federal Reserve, bankster system and Wall Street are an insider joke, and the IRS has been criminalized.  The Justice system is nothing more than a legal system used to force political agendas and fatten lawyers pockets.  We now have a President who doesn't attend security briefings when we are suppose to be under continual terror threats.  Police are no longer servents to the community, but revenue generation units more interested in obedience and control of the citizens.  We still haven't stopped all entry into America from these contaminated countries?

The fools in government have appointed crony morons into every leadership position, not based on expertise or experience, but rather than payback, political agendas or sexual orientation.  This, I believe is how great civilizations are destroyed.

"The incompetence and lack of trust in all government agencies, big business and the media is driving the panic."  Agreed, the government's lost credibility limit its ability to be effective in this situation.  They have lied and manipulated too many times, and the public's mutual distrust and hostility are pin-high.  Would you get into the MRAP headed off to the camp?  I would rather die fighting for my family on my own property.  That is precisely the message I must communicate effecitvely to anyone who is part of a 'knock' team calling at my door.  If they persist, I will do everything in my power to end the lives of those who would do me harm.

Depends on whether the mosquito is wearing a condom.

Seriously -- it seems yes the virus would be in any trace of the blood or plasma on or in the mosquito.  The question is how long could it live in those environments and how long until the mosquito bites again.

Testing via Mosquito Vector in Punta Gorda, Florida
A report from The New England Journal of Medicine reveals that one of the first outbreaks of chronic fatigue syndrome was in Punta Gorda, Florida, back in 1957.(10)   It was a strange coincidence that a week before these people came down with chronic fatigue syndrome, there was a huge influx of mosquitoes.

The National Institutes of Health claimed that the mosquitoes came from a forest fire 30 miles away. The truth is that those mosquitoes were infected in Canada by Dr Guilford B. Reed at Queen’s University. They were bred in Belleville, Ontario, and taken down to Punta Gorda and released there.

Within a week, the first five cases ever of chronic fatigue syndrome were reported to the local clinic in Punta Gorda. The cases kept coming until finally 450 people were ill with the disease.

So it seems to me that ebola is in the US and it has already started spreading. Those 80-100+ people who've come in contact with the confirmed case have no idea they did, and have since mingled with hundreds or thousands of others already, right?

So at this point it seems unstoppable, and you might as well just wait and see if you can survive. I mean, is there anything that a person can do to prevent themselves from being exposed? I see claims that it's not spread through the air, but it is spread through saliva. Well if someone coughs or sneezes, their saliva is in the air. Obviously bodily fluids can easily get into the food or water supply as well, so that's not safe either, right? Doesn't seem like there's a damn thing I can do to avoid it.

I know what you are saying, the point I was trying to make is how many people in the rest of the world are catching it or caught it?

All the people who had it in North America were in Africa.

I am not going to worry about it until 20 or more of the 100 they isolated catch it.

The paranoia is a little ridiculous.

If it is as bad as everyone claims, you would think swaths of population somewhere would be catching it, not only in Africa.

In order to get a high level job at the CDC you have to be a political CRONY.  By definition, political cronies cannot have any integrity or work ethic since that could rock the boat.  Anethema to bureaucracies.  I mean, the head honchoes at CDC only expected biweekly paychecks - they never thought they'd have to actually do something or anything like that.  Hence, totally unprepared in addition to being totally incompetent. They weren't placed in their position due to intelligence or other needed qualities.  And anyone who rose up to a high level job in the agency needed to demonstrate the required degree of "nothingness" to get there.

If you don't believe me, just think about what happened to the imbedded SEC honorable person who got crucified for having the audacity to actually try to perform her job function.  You know, the one who had to tape all that stuff about Goldman Sachs and the SEC regulators who seemed to think their actual job was to protect Goldman so they could get a job there later.

Of course the word "evil" is a relative term...as the person you "knew"'s answer clearly attests.  And your argument implies that only the lower spectrum of our society "conspires" to do anything, eh?  Given that our prisons are full of people convicted of "conspiracy" related charges, the logical deduction must be that...that only average people conspire and that "elite" never do, because if we show any proof or argue that they have/are conspire(d or ing) (which is technically just to plan something with someone else in secret for your own benefit) than you are a "conspiracy theorist".  Since those same elite design and lord over a legal system that's locked up millions over time time on "conspiracy" charges, aren't they doing the same thing you criticize people here for doing...creating a "conspiracy central" BUT ON A MUCH LARGER SCALE?  We should let all those people out of prison now!!!...because obviously, conspiracies don't exist...OR the elite are somehow immune to all the same imperfections the rest of us are born with?  You can't have it both ways.

And just because they aren't geniuses doesn't mean some of them don't conspire.  It doesn't logically follow in any way.  And you lost credibility as soon as you professed your friend's opinion to be true because (as an appeal to authority fallacy notes) they had a "close family member (who) worked on a high level in the previous administration."  They would have no self-serving reasons for giving that answer at all.  Wow...pretty convincing...we should all cower under the weight of that proof.  In the same vein, I have many friends and family members in plenty of significant positions that have told me directly...THE EXACT OPPOSITE.  They had nothing to gain by doing so...and in fact only had something to lose by doing so.

Evil people do seek to get and sometimes attain power in centralized power structures.  Every society has a certain percentage of sociopaths and psychopaths in it.  In the romaniticized world the government is both incompetant enough to get a pass on being able to "conspire" or be able to follow through on an "evil" plan or be self-serving while completely competant enough to have organized a system that weeds out any pathological personality that tries to attain power within it.

Amazing stuff...stuff of contradictions galore.

At least when mad cow was the big worry we had to walk through shoe-sterilizing material to get through customs.  Given that we seem to know so little about the basic biology of this virus, and given that it is a rapid-mutator and that it has the potential to become infectious by the airborne route, wouldn't it be prudent to err on the side of caution?  Such as not letting any travelers with exposure to West Africa to enter the country without proof of a 21-day symptom-free quarantine?  The incompetence of the Dallas hospital staff is hardly surprising, since as the price of health care in the US has skyrocketed, the care has become more slipshod.  Ebola virus symptoms are very non-specific and mimic common viral syndromes, so anybody with these symptoms MUST be specifically questioned about direct or indirect exposure to West Africa. If they respond affirmatively, they should be assumed to be infected with Ebola.  If this gets out of control in the US, there will be terrible fear and panic, and as TPTB know, it is at these junctures when the herd is most easy to manipulate.  Let's not even think about people who have natural resistance to Ebola who could be invisible carriers or the lunacy of sending 3000 troops to West Africa who will all be potential carriers on their return home...

Yah yah yah, the Frieden (head of the CDC) who may be the stupidest "educated" person on the planet says he can manage ebola. All well and good when you've got four cases and four top-level biosecurity isolation rooms, like in Atlanta. Meanwhile...in Liberia:"Each 100-bed Ebola treatment centre under construction needs 230 trained staff, including 12 medical experts, to operate, U.S. officials said. That would mean nearly 4,000 personnel for the Liberian facilities due to start opening in October, and it is unclear where they will come from."

No one is showing up to staff these places that Our Soldiers are building. In other words, the Liberians have self-preservation as their mandate, unlike Frieden who believes your welfare, your life, your children's lives belong to him to play with like fiddlesticks, based on his liberal stupidity. Does anyone think that the 3000 soldiers who are being based in LIberia to "train" those Liberians (who are not showing up) won't be placed in these centers because, after all, we've just got to "help" those who won't help themselves. Kill our own to save theirs? I think not.

What, the CDC lying?  Rubbish.  Next they'll try to persuade us that the Federal Reserve Board can't be believed.
