Ironic, WB VII, that a physician boarding a plane in Atlanta this A.M. did so wearing a haz-mat suit. It was, he stated, a "message" to "...the lying CDC". I've told my fellow ZHer's in the past that my husband is a biochemist. He's well respected in the scientific community and worked on the 1980's Scripps Clinic project to develop synthetic factor 8, the clotting factor missing in haemophiliacs, which was successful in making sure that these folk no longer have to use blood product to obtain that factor. As you know, 80% of haemophiliacs died because of tainted blood products here in the USSA, since the Red Cross, etc., refused to test their donated blood. This incident in particular, made me decide not to trust "public health" officials in this country. Love your work; you'll get me to wear those Depends, yet!
The accidental release of 45 litres of concentrated live polio virus solution into the environment - Belgium
As reported to ECDC by Belgian authorities, on 2 September 2014, following a human error, 45 litres of concentrated live polio virus solution were released into the environment by the pharmaceutical company, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), in Rixensart city, Belgium. The liquid was conducted directly to a water-treatment plant (Rosieres) and released after treatment in river Lasne affluent of river Dyle which is affluent of the Escaut/Scheldt river. Belgium’s High Council of Public Health conducted a risk assessment that concluded that the risk of infection for the population exposed to the contaminated water is extremely low due to the high level of dilution and the high vaccination coverage (95%) in Belgium.
Mr. Duncan remained in isolation at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital on Thursday, in stable but serious condition. Mr. Duncan probably became infected in Monrovia, the Liberian capital, on Sept 15, when he helped carry his landlord’s convulsing pregnant daughter to a clinic to be treated for Ebola.
The woman, 19-year-old Marthalene Williams, was turned away from the overcrowded clinic because it did not have room for her and died the next day. The landlord’s son and three neighbors who came in contact with the woman also died soon afterward.
How about that dog rumored to have lapped up all the tossed cookies of that Dallas ebola guy left on the street and then he comes home and licks the family? Just sayin...
i think candidates kissing babies will not be the desired photo-op. in some ways this all sounds like AIDSII, doesn't it? nothing to worry about it only spreads through the transfer of (precious) bodily fluids
Fear not fellow Texans, Perry will soon have a state mandated ebola vaccine for you, whether you like it or not. The HPV vaccine was just a practice run. :-O
in HK they have the energy to do something, thanks for showing it, now in America crickets and silence what a stark contrast in societies..thanks William.
uuhhh.....eerrrrr......Hong Kong is, what, about the size of a dime, (400 Sq Mi. (That's about 20 miles wide and 20 mi. long) and the United States (so-called) is the size of the sun??
You can't expect an assembly of widely dispersed human beans in several million square miles to converge on a city like D.C.
And don't forget on the other hand practically the entire city of D.C. depends on the taxes gathered in from all the other states to finance their luxurious life style unfettered by the troubles that rankle the proles in the hinterlands.
Who in D.C. and the 400 miles surrounding it is dissatisfied, when they are doing just great no matter who is in power??
I feel very good about this city. It is not easy to fully explain what is going on here because there are many different angles. It is much more complicated than the simplistic narrative you are seeing in the MSM.
Take a look at my comment in GWs post yesterday..."Is the US Secretly Egging On..."
There are many different currents dramatically changing the cultural/economic face of Hong Kong. The young are being hit hard by these changes.
People are told it is for everyone's benefit. Obviously, there are a multitude of people who are not in agreement with that script and would like a direct say in what happens to the city they love dearly. They are not keen to the notion that the tycoon billionaires have it all worked out with Beijing, wink wink.
That is just one angle.
Another big angle is people from all walks got very pissed off by the Police tactics last weekend, which were obviously ordered by the political bigwigs. No one questions the general professionalism of the HK Police, although they are shaming them for what happened. I suspect the police are really getting an earful at home.
The impact of Chinese tourism is another angle. As we saw in the spring (the pee pee baby), the impact of the huge influx of Chinese tourists is resented for many reasons. Whole neighborhoods have changed completely at street level. People don't hate Mainlanders per se, but there appears to be no balance.
I could go on...but you get my drift. It is not like people are all suddenly studying the theory of democracy. They have their own gripes and they don't like how decisions have been made to date.
So it is a smoldering tinderbox. Luckily, the tradition here for civil disobedience is very strong, on both sides, the public and the police. They all know what the tacit rules of street protest engagement are. You can shove with your chest and yell, but don't punch etc. Huge public demonstrations are routinely held in an orderly manner.
Last weekend the police crossed the line and the result is obvious.
I am no expert on this, but I have eyes and ears ;-)
I don't think this will end in a hail of bullets like the MSM have fun speculating. A big part of what happens next is all about the Asian concept of "face". Some combination of actions and concessions must be found in order to save everyone's face. This will take time and can only happen after the steam blows over.
You see what happened tonight. The students sent a letter asking for consultations on constitutional transition and the government agreed. A violent showdown was avoided although the streets will remain blocked.
Another thing. The idea that the CIA has brainwashed all the students is a load of bullshit. They are all too busy studying at Kaplans on the weekends because they all want high SAT scores so they can go to University in the US and England. I saw a funny picture of kids doing their homework out on the pavement.
The idea that the American Chamber of Commerce (you know how much I love them) are trying to foment unrest is similarly displaced. The last thing GE et al want is adverse business instability in China (the red goose that lays the globalist eggs).
There are expats cooking BBQs at the protest venue. But they are not Noodlemen handing out CIA cookies. They are people who love HK. If there is a Noodleman running around here, someone please tell me who it is.
These are people who all have relatives living in Flushing, Queens, Vancouver etc. They all want to send their kids there for school.
They don't need the CIA to explain to them what the theory of democracy is.
They are also smart enough to know what a hollow sham our own consitutional republic has become, so I am constantly told. I don't have to explain to the locals what my pictures are driving at.
I visited HK in June 2014. It was so f-ck hot and the Islands are unwalkable.
The food sucks. It is some bizarre lame attempt at English and Chinese cuisine.
I met interesting ex-pats and spent a lot of time below ground level in underground malls. I spent my stay looking for a decent fuchi fepein. I found it in Kowloon the last day of my stay.
I was very happy to leave and continue our trip to Chengdu where I, finally had a decent meal. I appreciate mainland society and the unity of the mainlanders. The Hong Kong populace don't realise what they want. Who gets to vote for the candidate of their choice? We don't get to in the USA! We get two, equally evil, choices which really is voting for the candidate backed by Wall Street.
If the students keep this protest going the PRC will, eventually, crush dissent. Do the protester not realise the PRC regime is finding out who the leaders are and will start taking them to prison?
I have been to China four times and HK once. There is a unspoken tradition , which is diametrically opposite of the American tradition.
In the USA you can say what you want without retribution, typically.
In China you can do what you want as long as you don't talk about it.
The people in Hong Kong are violating this important tradition and will be dealt with very harshly. They aren't British anymore. They are Chinese and they better get used to the new rules.
Ebola alert: Hawaii one suspected case, Dallas 100 possible cases, Town of Salenano, Texas shut down and under quarantine for a few weeks... As well as the U.S. Territory of Puerto Rico where there's an epidemic...
But don't worry, there's no chance of it getting OUT OF CONTROL...

You know they are lying. They have to change their script every 48 hours. All they care about is maintaining public order.
I heard the best place to be is Dallas stadium, they can't catch nothin there..

And the dog licks their own feces and themselves and they are still living...
Luckily Rick Perry was out jogging and shot that dog.
As long as they don't run out of coffee.

Isn't Rick Perry the candidate that couldn't name 3 viruses he'd like to defund?
How about we start defunding with -
HepaReedTitis
SmallCainPox
West Pelosi Nile
i think candidates kissing babies will not be the desired photo-op. in some ways this all sounds like AIDSII, doesn't it? nothing to worry about it only spreads through the transfer of (precious) bodily fluids
OK, he's safe from Ebola, but what if he farts? Big decision to make then Mr. Rick.
Not if, WHEN;)
Depends or free ballin?
Funniest thing was Gov Good hair getting booed at the 2012 Texas RNC convention.
He should really be bleeding from his eyes in that image.
Most of us are just pissed! (from Fort Worth)
Nothing to see here, please disperse.

I just love Teletubbies.
So which one is gay,

One one isn't and you just did.
ROTFLMAO !!!
TELETUBBIES TO THE RESCUE !! TAKE THAT EBOLA !!!
You also heard about Rick...the word gets around fast.
Fear not fellow Texans, Perry will soon have a state mandated ebola vaccine for you, whether you like it or not. The HPV vaccine was just a practice run. :-O

Size fuckin matters and no one seems to get that.

I have family in HK, although they are state side at present for College Graduation. Nephew will be back in HK shortly.
I haven't had occasion to talk with him since he got stateside. He just graduated from a college in HK.
WB7, if you could summarize what the MSM is not telling it would be helpful to get the word out from someone on the ground.
