Is This Why Christine Lagarde Is Suddenly "Quite Worried" About Disconnect Between Market, Economy?

Tyler Durden's picture

It appears the ruling elite have finally woken up to the reality in which the rest of the world's laboring populace has been living. IMF head Christine Lagarde stated this morning she is "monitoring buoyant markets" with "lots of hesitation" while noting "weak economies." We have one simple question for the oompa-loompa-colored 'economic expert' - what took so long?

  • LAGARDE SAYS DISCONNECT BETWEEN MARKETS, ECONOMY 'QUITE WORRYING'
  • LAGARDE SAYS FED'S QE POLICY HAS 'DONE MUCH TO AID RECOVERY'

You decide!

And then there's this...

  • LAGARDE SEES WORRY MARKET, LIQUIDITY RISK MOVING TO 'SHADOWS'
  • LAGARDE: GLOBAL RECOVERY `BRITTLE, UNEVEN AND BESET BY RISKS'
  • LAGARDE: WORLD ECONOMY NEEDS BOLD MOVES TO AVOID `NEW MEDIOCRE'

Academic medical research essay that accurately predicted Ebola's spread to U.S. (as well as U.K., Germany and France - rest of globe pretty much) , and that predicts wide scale pandemic).

Summary: The most credible epidemiological data establishes that containment Ebola anywhere it has spread to is nearly impossible.

TIS...So, what you are saying, I won't get Ebola if I don't sit down anymore ?

The most common transmission is sitting on warm motorcycle seats or taxi cabs that keep the virus warm and cozy ?

Is the indicated regimen to stay inside cooped-up for 5 years (like during the plague during ealy Renaissance) ?  When Newton and Leibniz developted Calculus.

In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, some doctors wore a beak-like mask which was filled with aromatic items. The masks were designed to protect them from putrid air, which (according to the miasmatic theory of disease) was seen as the cause of infection.

Actually, it says exactly the opposite:

We observe that the expected value of the cluster size in the case of international spread is always rather small (in all countries mean<6; median<4). Large outbreak involving more than 10 individuals although potentially possible can be considered as very rare events (Detailed statistics per country are available upon request). This numerical evidence is good news, as it points out that effective management and isolation of cases is keeping the number of EVD cases to deal with to a very limited number, lowering the risk of losing control of the outbreak.

spinone & Livermore -

Just skip to the Conclusions of the report since you seem to have missed a key turn event:

"CONCLUSIONS

We show by a modeling effort informed by data available on the 2014WA EVD outbreak that the risk of international spread of the Ebola virus is still moderate for most of the countries. The current analysis however shows that if the outbreak is not contained, the probability of international spread is going to increase consistently, especially if other countries are affected and are not able to contain the epidemic. It is important to stress that the presented modeling analysis has been motivated by the need for a rapid assessment of the EVD outbreak trends and contains assumptions and approximations unavoidable with the current lack of data from the region. The results may change as more information becomes available from the EVD affected region and more refined sensitivity analysis can be implemented computationally. Furthermore, the modeling approach does not include scenarios for the identification and isolation of cases, the quarantine of contacts, and the proper precautions in hospital and funeral preparation that would be relevant in discussing optimal containment strategies. Such a modeling effort however calls for better and more detailed data not available at the moment."

Did you catch the relevant part?

Here it is again:

"The current analysis however shows that if the outbreak is not contained, the probability of international spread is going to increase consistently, especially if other countries are affected and are not able to contain the epidemic. "

Guess what?

This essay was written on September 2nd, and the outbreak is now officially not contained and the probability of international spread is going to increase consistently.

It is a curious coincidence that George Soros sold (unwound) his gold position the very same day DSK was arrested (set-up). We all know DSK will only fuck virgins! Male, female....doesn't matter as long as he is the first. So I find the allegation of him raping some maid absolutely preposterous!

Maybe it wasn't a coincidence?

wanna fix income/wealth inequality:

1. cut the debt to zero

2. raise rates to 4-5%

3. corporate tax reform, flat tax, cut regulations, encourage businesses to take risk

4. encourage people to work for a living instead of sitting home collecting as much free shit as they can & waiting on lines 5 days for the new iphone

5. encourage people what when that paycheck comes in from the job to save/invest 20-25% of it instead of relying 100% on the "consumer-driven" economy

SO WHAT WILL ACTUALLY HAPPEN??? absolutely none of this, we will grow global debt, reduce # of business, raises taxes, drop rates to negative, continue to try and "inflate" the price of shit so we feel better about how much our stuff is worth.

oh, and continuing to do that status-quo keeps all the kensians in control. doing the right thing is hard. promising people free shit with other peoples $$$ is the easiest way to get re-elected.

We have two economies, the capital economy and the labor economy.  The two economies are taxed differently, giving the capital economy about a 3 percentage point advantage in cost, on average, over the labor economy in the United States (your results may vary).  It is no wonder the labor economy is doing worse than the capital economy.

No one in their right mind would spread it by transporting exposed and infected people to around the world locations.

That would be insane.

And Ebola will never come the the United States.

Our border security measures seal out the most remote chance of entry of people with communicatable diseases.

Especially 3rd World diseases that the US little people do not have resistence to.

Will never happen here.
